A moment after he mentioned the fact that he turned in to a rabbit, basically, he watched her completely freeze. Of course his kind weren't completely hopeless, he knew that, but most never saw that side of a rabbit. For most they were all chubby body and floppy ears and soft temperament. Sieffre considered, only for a moment, asking her if it was fear that had made her freeze or not. But he mentally shrugged at it. In the end it was not any of his business, not in the least, and while he was curious he hated being pushed for answers so he wouldn't push anyone else for answers either.
"Birds are interesting to watch." He said quietly as he zipped up the bag and deposited it back in to his back pack. He might duck if one caught him unexpectedly but he rather enjoyed watching them. The way they moved and their winds was interesting to him. A bit of a strange hobby, for someone as jumpy as he was, and it wasn't something he followed constantly. But he had a chance it was fun to watch them fly, watch them move, and listen to the sounds that birds made.
It was his attempt to shift the conversation away from a point that she was obviously uncomfortable with, not that he enjoyed talking about himself much either, birds seemed like the best option. As there were a few around and they were a bit more lively and interesting than talking about the weather or the clouds. Something that wasn't personal to him was by far easier to talk about anyways. After all they hadn't known each other long enough to start dishing out their life stories to each other.
Besides the only 'story' he really had to tell that involved him in his shift form that would be mildly interesting was his first shift and ending up locked in a small cage praying for a way to get out. Shortly after that he had been shipped off to the school, a bit late in the semester, where he had quickly learned that if he wanted to shift. Inside and away from people was a better choice than anything else. The fewer people who realized what he was the safer he felt about the whole being in a school with people who'd gladly munch on him.

Glad that Sieffre had either decided to ignore her little scene, or did not notice it, Adagio nodded her head in agreement to his statement. Birds were interesting to watch, but for the most part she would rather join in on the pleasure of flight then sit around and watch.
“I admit I don’t make it a regular hobby, but I do help my Grandmother plant flowers to attract birds. Blue jays, cardinals, robins, mourning doves, and sparrows are the most common, but every now and then a humming bird, a yellow finch, or a blue bird decides to come and hang out. I think I rather listen to them then actually see them.”
Leaning her head back onto the fountain and looking up to the sky, Adagio watched to see if any birds would fly. A bat flew overhead it the darkening sky, but other then that it seemed like all of the birds were sticking closer to the tree line and preparing to sleep. After she quickly observed the tree line and caught sight of a robin darting deeper into the trees, Adagio decided to talk again.
“There’s probably nothing better than laying out in a hammock in the autumn and taking a nap while listening to the birds. They can be a little noisy at times, especially when they fight, but when you know what to listen to, they can sounds very nice.”
Of course, she was not able to do that a lot, but when she did, it was really fun. Autumn was her favorite time of year, and she tried to spend as much time in her shift form as she could in the autumn because it felt so nice to fly during that time. With the wind just warm enough to keep her from shivering, and the smell of pumpkins and dead leaves all around, it was her version of heaven.
“I think the cutest type of bird is the tufted titmouse! They are so tiny, and they are extremely brave. I once was sitting outside reading a book and eating sunflower seeds when one just hopped on up and stole a seed that I had dropped a little ways off from my seat!”
Leaning her head off the fountain again as she talked, Adagio uncrossed her legs and stretched before letting one leg fall lazily to the ground and bringing the other up closer to her body.

Of course birdwatching would have two different meanings to them, he as someone who couldn't fly and she as someone who could, but at the same time the same. He didn't sit there trying to figure out the different types of birds that he was seeing and listening to. At least he had been correct in assuming that she'd relax a bit as soon as they got off the subject of his animal. He shrugged slightly at her comment about it being a hobby, it wasn't really, he didn't come outside enough to really do it. But sometimes he'd open a window and listen to their songs or watch them through the glass.
"I usually watch from inside." He said after a moment, tilting his head up to look at the clouds, usually he'd have been a wreck after being outside for as long as he had. Even if he pushed it the overwhelming idea of the world was just to much. About the only time he really went outside was to run when the gym wasn't enough to keep him occupied. The hills and paths were always a greater challenge than a plain, or mostly plain, oval shaped ring. It was easier to forget time that way too. Obviously she hadn't seen him ducking a bird that had been far above him.
He shifted slightly as well, absently running his fingers along the tattoo on his right forearm. Listening to her talk about napping out in autumn while the birds. Sieffre wouldn't even dream of sleeping outside, even in a tent, the idea of both being so exposed and with so much happening there was no way that would be happening. Short of him passing away there was no way that he'd ever willingly stay outside for longer than he had to.
"Don't really pay attention to breed, really, it's nice just to hear them sing. And watch them fly." He kept considering the sky, finally starting to feel the first pang of fear beat in his chest, talking up wards even though he was truly speaking to her. "I wouldn't dare to dream of flight, either, perfectly happy with my feet on the ground."
Sieffre had to admit, even to himself, that his world was small and at times seemed to be slowly becoming smaller. But he smiled anyways he'd taken his peace with it a good deal of time ago.

As she listened intently to what Sieffre was saying, Adagio could not help but to notice that his words were getting faster and he seemed to be getting nervous. Vaguely she wondered if he was beginning to have a panic attack, but thought better of it knowing that panic attacks usually had to have a stimulus, and nothing had happened when they were out here to stimulate such and attack.
“I guess since I spent so much time with my Grandma I just kind of picked up bird names and remembered them. As for flying, I was never actually interested in it at first, I only became interested after I learned how to shift.”
Actually, the only question she had ever had about flight before shifting was why exactly bumble bees could fly with their tiny little wings.
Noticing Sieffre’s movements, Adagio saw a tattoo on his arm and could not help but smile. It was nice to know that someone else her age had tattoos and that she was not the only one who was breaking the rules. Looking down at her own tattoos, Adagio traced the seal of Rassilon before blinking and letting her attention go back to the person she was talking to.
“I…”
Before Adagio could start talking again, soft music could be heard coming from her backpack, and she quickly turned around to reach inside and retrieve the gadget that was buried under a mountain of other things in her bag.
When it was out of her backpack and in her hand, the song “Eastern European Funk” by Inculto could be heard clearly, before she pressed the button and looked at the message. With a huff and a bit of an angry look, Adagio clicked a few buttons to delete the message and then threw her phone lazily back into her bag.
“Sorry ‘bout that. Thought it was important, but it wasn’t”
Gathering her thoughts back together, Adagio could not figure out what she originally was going to say and wondered if it would be best to send a text message out to all of her contacts so she did not get junk texts.
“Uhm, yeah, I totally forgot what I was going to say. I guess it wasn’t as important as I originally thought it was.”
Laughing slightly, Adagio wondered if she should get her memory checked out or something. God forbid she turned into the poster child for ‘bird brained’ people.

"I guess the same way that I picked up my love for music." Sieffre smiled slightly at that, it'd been one of the few ways he had actually managed to bond with his singular parent. Not that they had a bad relationship it was more that they just weren't sure what the other needed, if it was space or just what, so they had lived together with out really interacting unless it came down to music. It was hardly the worst parent-child relationship he had heard of so it had worked out just fine. Even when he'd been shocked at the knowledge that his Father was a shifter, of an unknown sort, after nine years of cognitive memory one would think he'd at least notice something. "I guess that makes sense too. Wasn't too keen on running till I shifted anyways."
Watching her with her cell phone reminded him of his own, rather neglected, mobile phone. Frowning slightly he reached went through a couple of the pockets trying to figure out if he even had it on him. A good deal of rustling around later he pulled out the piece of white plastic and opened it. Off. Pressing the button he watched it start up only to turn off again. Correction, dead. He glanced at his backpack absently wondering when the last time he'd even thought about his phone had been. Shrugging slightly he stuck it back in to his backpack making a mental note to charge it even though he barely used it.
"It's fine." He replied before standing up and stretching. He really was starting to get antsy about being outside, even if he'd been comfortable, just remembering the fact that they were indeed outside was enough to unsettle him. Picking up the forgotten bag of carrots he dropped it in to his bag before sitting down again in a slightly more comfortable position.
"I'm probably going to head in soon." He added in an after thought. Sieffre had never really been one to advertise his fears, which was a good idea all things considered, if someone figured it out by connecting the dots that was fine. But he hated talking about them, or talking about himself in general, so unless she full out asked him what his fears were there was no way that she would find out. After a moment he added a reason just so it wouldn't seem like he was running away from her just for the sake of getting away. Flicking his head toward his back pack he continued on. "Have a bit of homework I still need to get done."

Adagio had to nod her head slightly as a thought cam into her head.
“Maybe once people shift they just automatically pick up the traits of their animal that they may not have had before. My interest in flight, your interest in running, I even new a girl that was terrified of swimming before she shifted into a duck.”
The girl, her name eluded her since she had kind of been mean when she was talking and Adagio tended to especially not remember rude peoples names, had rambled on and on about how she had hated the water when she was a child, but as soon as she shifted she could not wait to jump in.
Adagio was startled once more when she noticed Sieffre getting up suddenly, but for once it did not really show. After he sat back down and said that he would have to head in soon, Adagio could not help but to feel a little sad. Sure, the bugs were beginning to eat her alive and she should probably head towards the cafeteria, but she was having a good time chatting.
“ I hate homework. You’re right though, I think we both should probably head inside before the bugs carry us both away.”
Smacking a mosquito that landed on her leg, Adagio shuffled her stuff together and zipped up her backpack.
“If I’m not careful I’m going to be eaten alive out here.”
Swatting at another mosquito, Adagio looked warily at the fountain before looking back at Sieffre.
“I know technically it’s my fault since mosquito’s live close to water, but I’m going to act like it’s not my fault anyways.”
Laughing at her childish behavior, Adagio turned herself around and hoisted herself up while holding onto the side of the fountain.
“I had a great time talking to you, and I’d love to do it again. Now that we know each other, I’ll have to bug you during orchestra when we have free time.”
Thinking for a moment, Adagio wondered if they shared any other classes together. When she finally gave up wondering, she smiled lightly and picked up her backpack. After a quick inspection of her self, Adagio was happy to find that she was not covered in dirt, she was not in the mood to change before dinner anyways.
“Do you hang out anywhere in particular? Maybe we could hang out again other than in class.”
Adagio really had no specific hang out spots, but she did have places that she was more apt to be than others. Take for instance, the track, she would probably not be found there, but she would probably be found in the greenhouse.

He pulled down the rolled up sleeves of his shirt and flicked at a bug uselessly trying to get his skin through the fibers of his shirt. The bugs didn't bother him too much, and he obviously wasn't too popular with the mosquito's currently, so he just shrugged it off and did up the zipper on his bag. Standing up he pulled the bag on to his back watching her for a moment as she stood. Batting at another bug he just shrugged when she asked him where he hung out exactly.
"Inside, usually. Don't really have a 'place'." He paused for a moment twisting an arm back to fiddle around with his backpack and pull out a pen. Then through his pockets before he found what he was looking for, a folded up piece of paper with a vague sketch of what might have been a tree with some imagination, he folded it again. Quickly he wrote down his phone number before folding the paper yet again and offering it to her. He quirked an eyebrow slightly before he smiled and added. "Hopefully I remember to charge it though."
He rarely used his cell phone, really, and generally forgot about it entirely at times. Just about the only person who called him was his father so he, generally, didn't even bother to carry it around. If Sieffre wasn't expecting a call or a text there was no point to the piece of plastic that was his phone. Except for maybe vague entertainment when he happened to drop it and it's various pieces went flying. Of course he wasn't the only person who wasn't particularly attached to his phone but most people his age would probably be completely lost if they didn't have their cell phones.
"Well... Maybe the track if I get bored." He amended after a long moment as he capped the pen and stuck it in his pocket rather than back in to the back pack. Sieffre hadn't gotten involved with any extra circular spots, or anything, either. He looked at the fountain for a long moment and took a backwards step, away, from it, now that she seemed go be willing to go inside he just wanted to go. Shrugging again he added as an after thought. "Otherwise I'm just around somewhere, inside."

Reaching out and taking the paper with the phone number on it, Adagio quickly wrote his name on it and slipped it carefully between her phone before grabbing one of her decorative sticky note pads. It was nothing too fancy, but each new sticky note had a picture of a well-known monument. Taking the sticky note from the top, which happened to have a picture of the Eiffel Tower on it, she quickly wrote down her phone number as well as her name before handing it over to Sieffre.
“I don’t use my phone a lot, but I promised my Mum that I’d leave it on. The only time I can’t be reached is when I’m in class. I hate when people text in class, so I usually just turn my phone off so that no one can get on my case if my phone rings.”
In truth, Adagio hated talking on phones. She texted every now and then, but mostly she just used her phone as a calculator and a watch. The only reason she actually had a phone was because her Mother insisted that once she started driving she had to have a way to be contacted. Of course, she would have probably asked for a phone anyways once she got to the island so she could call home, but other then that she really had no use for a phone.
“The track or inside, got it. There are a lot of inside places, but I guess now I can just text you.”
Laughing and smiling, Adagio zipped her backpack again after slipping her sticky notes and her pen inside. Placing her backpack back on her back, Adagio adjusted the straps before shifting from leg to leg trying to wake her foot back up.
“I guess I’ll catch you in class tomorrow. As for me, I think I’m going to head to the cafeteria to get some dinner.”
There was a bunch of ways to get to the cafeteria, but Adagio preferred to take the walkway closest to the forest. It had the most shade, and it tended to be cooler then walking on the sun baked pavement.
“Oh, and I had a lot of fun talking to you Sieffre!”
Waving happily Adagio walked backwards for a few steps before turning around and bouncing slightly down the sidewalk. When she got to where she had to turn right, she accidentally tripped over a jagged part in the sidewalk and caught herself before turning around and waving once more.
“I’m fine!”
Laughing embarrassedly, Adagio began to run at a slow pace knowing that she made a fool of herself. When she finally made it to a distance that she thought she could not be seen, she slowed down and panted slightly while continuing to make her way to the cafeteria.
