[/li][li] Thinking:[/u] This might seem a bit weird that it's under his likes, but he loves being given problems and him trying to find out the solutions on how to resolve them. He's really good at it and he finds it very entertaining.
[/li][li] Family/Friends:[/u] Family is really important to Karter as well as friends. Once you are a friend you will be a friend for a long time. He loves doing stuff with the people he gets along with the best. Makes it more fun
[/li][li] Trouble:[/u] Karter has a great time causing mischief and trouble. It kind of goes with pranking. He loves it so much because he gets such a thrill out of it. Getting on peoples nerves is so much fun.

[/li][li] Working Out:[/u] He loves working out because, as an orca shift, he loves thrusting his entire body out of the water and landing back in. That takes a lot of strength so the more he has, the more fun it will be.
[/li][li] School:[/u] LAMEEE I know, but he loves school. He was born with major smarts and he loves showing them off in his classes. He's a straight A student, and he is really good at thinking outside the box. School comes easy for him.
[/li][li] Playing:[/u] Karter is a fun loving, playful person and he loves playing sports and games with other people. If he's not doing schoolwork, he's playing something with someone and having a blast.
[/li][li] Interesting People:[/u] The more interesting you are, the better chance you have of befriending Karter and the better chance you have of being a long-term friend. He really likes people who are unique and different (as himself) and hates people who are boring and the average joe. Well he doesn't HATE them or even dislike them really...he just gets bored easily with them.

[/li][li] Boredum:[/u] This word should take care of the description too however just in case it doesn't, boring things are BORING. He likes to have fun and play and he does not like "do-nothing" days.
[/li][li] Being Alone:[/u] He only likes being alone if he really has to study hard for something. Other than that, he's a pretty talkative guy and needs people around to have conversations with and chill with.
[/li][li] Summer:[/u] Everyone loves summer, but Karter does not. Summer means no school (which he loves) and no cold (which he loves). The only reason why summer is good is because he can still swim. Other than that, he doesn't enjoy it as much as everyone else.
[/li][li] Stereotypes:[/u] Just because the word "killer" is in the name of his animal shift, does not mean he is a killer. Just because he likes school does not make him a nerd, and just because he likes to pull pranks does not mean he's going to give you a black eye. Grow up.
[/li][li] Seals:[/u] Annoying little creatures that like to steal the spotlight in shows. They all should just leave the planet. Ugh he dislikes them so much. ARF ARF ARF like what is that?
[/li][li] Answer Keys:[/u] Ok, a question means you think about it, try it out, erase, try again, until you get it. Does not mean "Hmm I wonder what back of book says!"
[/li][li] Failure:[/u] Never would he dream of failing anything, but he dislikes failing because he has felt it once. It was basically the turning point for him academically. Horrible feeling that he hopes never to experience again.
[/li][li] Heat:[/u] Not only is it melting most of the Arctic and other ice sheeted portions of our earth where orca's live, but it also leads to major sweating and exhaustion. He finds he has much less energy in heat.
[/li][li] Boats:[/u] As a human he loves going on boats (like sailboats and yachts) but he HATES motor boats because they are A) really noisy and B ) as a killer whale, he has to be careful as the drivers are careless and sometimes run over the whales leaving scars.

- Tight Spaces:
[/li][li] Failure:[/u] If he ever fails a class he has no idea how he would be able to continue in life. For the amount of work he puts in and the reputation he has, he can't fail anything.
[/li][li] Sharks:[/u] Swimming in the water is fun, but with killer whales only having two predators, one being sharks, he really has to watch his back. It's hard to hide when your as big as him in the water.

[/li][li] Challenges:[/u] He can figure out almost any problem in the world if given enough time. He thought it was a rather cool strength that he had.
[/li][li] Loyalty:[/u] Karter will never turn his back on you if you and him are tight. The strength in the bond that you have with him will determine how high is loyalty towards you is. If you've got his back, he's got yours.
[/li][li] Performing:[/u] He is a great performer and entertainer and will always make you feel some sort of good emotion. He's perfect for theater plays and such.

[/li][li] Gullibility:[/u] Even though this isn't entirely true, he is very gullible. If he thinks for a second and can't figure out a way around what you said, he will believe you in a heartbeat (though he usually figures things out)
[/li][li] Overthinker:[/u] Sometimes, Karter does such a good job thinking things through that he overthinks. When he overthinks he gets things wrong, does things wrong, or just looks stupid and he hates this. Too bad it happens more often than he would like.

The Nerd[/u]
Karter's intelligence is far above what anyone would think it was by looking at him and meeting him. Because he comes off as the "cool guy" at times and doesn't have glasses or come off as "smart" in any way, people usually think he is as dumb as a rock. Truth is, he's not even close. He takes his school work very seriously and needs to be sure that he understands everything before going into a test or exam. It's just the way he was brought up to be. He also LOVES figuring out how things work and he loves challenges in his academics. This is the main reason why he is in engineering.He also thinks that this is why he shifts into a killer whale since they have the second largest brain in the underwater kingdom. Very interesting. He has never failed anything before (except one time but...lets not go there) and he has no intention of failing anything ever agian. He can't. It puts too much stress on him and he just can't handle it. For how hard he works, there is no need to fail a course and hopefully, no chance.
The Troublemaker
Karter loves getting himself into trouble. Ok wait,no that's a lie. He likes pissing people off, he doesn't like getting into trouble. Punishment and him just don't get along, but he loves getting on people's nerves and doing stuff that hes not supposed to be doing (without getting caught). Being a little mischievious is really interesting and fun and keeps everything so unpredictable. He loves it. He has no problem with doing any sort of dare or request when others backdown in doing stuff like hiding the principals teacher evaluations or stealing a test. He can do it pretty swiftly though he does have his limits. He doesn't go too far because, if he did, he would obviously get in punished. If he ever got suspended, expelled or even got a detention, he would be upset. So far, he has never gotten caught doing anything and he don't think he ever will.
The Performer
Karter loves performing. He loves it more than anything. Well, no it's tied with challenging himself academically, but man the feeling you get on stage in front of people making them laugh, making them cry, making them happy. It's just amazing. He will be taking part in almost every musical, play, or any other theatrical event that they have here at the school because he loves it too much. In the wild, he sometimes hurls himself out of the water and does some fancy moves when he sees whale watching boats. He knows that the people love when whales do this and he loves giving them what they want. Besides, it's as close to performing as you can get without being in a tank at Sea World (which he hates by the way)
The Friend
Becoming a Karter friend is not necessarily hard, but he (apparently) gives off an intimidating vibe in which makes new people uncomfortable. He also tends to speak his mind which can sometime be hard for a new person to handle. Once you get passed his personality, however, you will find that he is a really great person. He will never turn his back on someone and if you have his back, he has yours. Loyaty is so important to him and he would never screw that up with anyone. He knows how important it is to have friends, but he feels as if he pisses people off a lot of the times as well with his mind speaking personality. It's totally possible and he sometimes knows exactly when he's pissing someone off. But if you can't live with that then maybe its best that they were not friends. Sorry.
The Athlete
Karter is a very good athlete as well. He really, actually, only likes aquatic sports since he sucks at land sports like volleyball, basketball, and football. However, he loves swimming, wakeboarding, surfing, boating...the works. He can live in the water forever and now with his animal shift option, he has that oppurtunity. Being the swimmer that he is and the water lover that he is, there could not have been a better creature to be cursed with shifting into. He can swim so much faster, and do so many cool things in the water that he never could before. Dream come true?

HUMAN[/u]
In his "normal" form, Karter is your average guy. He is about 5'9 and weighs about 150 pounds. He has a round face and very solid facial features. He has brown eyes and hair and usually wears his hair in a "roll out of bed" type way. He really couldn't care less about the way his hair looked because, in reality, no matter what he did to it, it always looked the same. It's messy look.
Ever since Karter had his first shift, he started working out as much as he could so that his jumps from the sea could be as powerful as possible. He wanted to go higher and higher and come down harder and harder and for that, he needs strength, and to get strength, he needs to work out. As a result, he is a very fit person. He is pretty muscular and buff and he is hoping to get a little more muscle each and every day to reach for that orca goal. He also needs to start getting more fit because he is really worried about the predators of the sea. He knows that he himself is one of the biggest predators as a human and one of the biggest predators as a killer whale, however he really wants to make sure that if a shark or other creature came that attacked him, he would be able to defend himself to the best that he can. His biggest worry is that he will die in his shift form since he really, should not have ever been in that form in the first place.
Karter usually dresses for success. He wears a lot of black and white as he thinks too much colour is a bad thing. He likes vests and jeans and casual clothes. He is looked upon by people as a good dresser, though his wardrobe is pretty ordinary and bland (which he doesn't get), but either way he always gets comments on it. He didn't mind. He has been told that his gleaming white smile paired with his eyes and great wardrobe was really what won over the ladies. He did have a good smile, he can't change his eyes, and because of this comment, he won't be changing the way he dresses either.
He makes sure that he does not have any unwanted hair on his face as he likes the smooth, clean cut look. Unfortunately, hair does grow so he finds himself shaving a couple times a week (far more than the normal teenage boy). He didn't mind though. If he got the results he wanted, who really cares? Exactly, no one. The smooth feeling reminds him of his skin texture as a whale. He loves it and would make sure that if he even sees one hair when he wakes up in the morning, it needs to go ASAP.
He does not and probably never will get any tattoos or piercings. He is afraid to get piercings as he doesn't know what would happen when he shifts with them. Would they rip out? AH just thinking of that gives him the jeeps. Tattoos are a no no for him because he is a performer, and he does not want to go on stage with the audience looking at him in his outfit (whatever that may be) and notice a tattoo. He might not get another audition or part if they ever found out he had one. Better safe than sorry.
ANIMAL[/u]
As his orca shift, James is a massive, black and white whale. The white colour only splattered on his belly and above his eyes to give him a really interesting look. His skin is smooth and slimy (that's what you get for swimming in the ocean) and his dorsal fin is upright and curved a tiny bit at the top. He weighs around 6 tonnes (which is MUCH MUCH MUCH heavier than he weighs as a human, obviously) and he is about 6 meters long. You can probably imagine the HUGE difference in size when he shifts as his bones grow and morph to create such a large animal. As a whale, he can use echolocation to help strengthen his position. He also has amazing senses of hearing, sight, and touch.

Growing up in Karter's family was definitely interesting. He grew up in an average town where it was big enough to not know everyone but small enough to not get lost. His family consisted of Alan and Chelsea Orcabi who were his parents, as well as Diana Orcabi who was his little sister. His family and him get along very well and he has never, ever wished for a different one. He had never run away from home, never wanted to kill his family, and never wanted to wish for another one. They were the best family in the world and he couldn't have asked for better.
His childhood was great. He went to preschool and elementary school where he made great friends and had great times. Academics just came easy to him and he really liked challenging himself. It was the 5th grade that he got the shock of his life when he failed his first test. He remembered not studying too much for it because he figured he knew enough already. After all, he was Karter! He got into the test and did horribly bad. So bad, that he didn't even want to hand it in. He went home and cried. He cried and cried. What a baby he was. Seriously, who cries like that over one failed test? Well, Karter. His parents assured him that this would happen every now and again, but Karter made a vow never to fail anything ever again. It was the worst feeling in the world. To this day, he has held true to that.
One day, his mom took him out on a boat into the middle of the ocean. It was his birthday present for turning 13. They were having a blast and a good time until Karter fell overboard in an attempt to fix the mast. He fell into the water with a hard thud and instantly started panicking. Something wasn't right. His mother was laughing that he fell in until she realized what was going on. He screamed out in pain as his bones began expanding, getting bigger and bigger. His arms were changing shape. He couldn't believe what was happening! This painful experience resulted in him turning into a killer whale. Karter was so confused. He came up to the surface and released water from his blowhole. He was scared and very very angry. He had the urge to see blood, and he was going to get it.
His mother cried out because she knew exactly what was going on but he didn't listen. He dove underwater and started swimming fast. He swam and swam until he saw a scuba diver observing a pod of dolphins. This was it. He lunged straight for him and before the scuba diver knew what hit him, he was already in his mouth. Karter thrased and ripped and tore the scuba diver to shreads. Why was he doing this!? What was going on!? He left the scene and started swimming to the surface where he blacked out.
He woke up back on the boat in his human form. His mother there by his side making their way back to shore. She explained to him what had just happened and how this had happened to her as well. She was the same as him. But his father didn't know and she did not want him to know. She was afraid of what might happen. She hoped that this shifting wouldn't happen to Karter and Diana, but obviously it happened. Karter was very confused and didn't want to believe it. But he had to for it just happened.
She told him about Shifter Academy and that he needed to go there. He will be safe from the people here that would kill him if they found out. He didn't want to leave his friends, his reputation, his family, but he knew he had to. As far as his father knows, he is at boarding school for the smart, though this was far from true. He was at a boarding school for the freaks.

[/li][li] Swimming:[/u] Ok this one is obvious but they both are swimmers. The fact that aquatic sports are Karter's thing and then his shift being a whale is the perfect combo. He actually enjoys being in his whale form for this reason.
[/li][li] Family:[/u] His family is very important to him as are the families of killer whales. Killer whales travel in pods and they never leave a member behind, much like Karter's family
[/li][li] Smarts:[/u] With the second largest brain in the marine environment, killer whales are very smart. Karter also is very smart and takes pride in his school work. If you don't believe that Karter should be in engineering or that killer whales are smart, I dare you to watch this video and you will change your mind.
[/li][li] Wardrobe:[/u] Karter likes to dress in black and white and very plainly however still make it seem as if he is dressing very nice. Orca's have the greyscale colour, however are beautiful and majestic creatures.
