I've noticed that charecter's that haven't been accepted yet aren't in a team. Will you be assigned to one when you're approved?

probably. but to be safe, if you want to be on a team. You can nominate your character to be on a team of your choice.

Once your character is fully accepted, you will be placed in a random team.
The nominations are for Team Captain, not choosing which team you would like to be part of.
