My beautiful liar why are you crying on your knees? You've crucified yourself and now denial is rising...rising...
Blood pumped loud in her ears, a thunder clap that resounded deeper than her heart, reverberating in her very bone structure. With each pound of blood, with each thrashing beat of her heart she was moving, moving faster than she should be; fly, flying, this was just a step before that, a step before she overcame the obstacles of this world's limitations, before her paws took a step into the air and she was soaring into the very sky, burrowing herself in the nest of stars that gleamed down at her. It was not to be, for though she was a creature out of myth, she was no God to trample on laws which had been set down for thousands of years. It didn't stop her heart from believing it, her eyes from narrowing as the wind cut into her face, slipping below her underbelly and feeling as if fingers were about to lift her up. She was on the verge, just on the verge -- when it began to ran.
When thunder sizzled and lightning flashed, when trees became shadows, and this night became a torrent. A storm, come unbidden, unleashed from her very heart and made manifest. The wolf ran through the forest, for it was all she ever did -- all she ever needed to do. No need for water, no need for food, just the running, just the exhilaration as she stretched out her body, abused the muscles, the joints, followed paths she was starting to know by heart. She buried herself in the forest, let it's arms come around her and forgot for a little while that she must change back into her human shape, that she must, eventually, leave this deceiving comfort, this illusion of life and return to the real world. This was but a dream that stretched on and on, like the ground beneath her, the sky before her; trees seemed to move out of her way as the rain fell hard and fast, cold and wet. Her fur stuck to her body, water sliding off of her in thick rivulets --but the wolf did not cease.
Instead she turned, tail whipping in the opposite direction as her paws slipped and got cut on rocks, as her claws scrambled for purchases, as roots stood in her way. The rain came harder, faster, the wind blew through the very foundations of the forest rattling the branches of trees, tearing down the leaves. She was in a chaotic world, a dark world, a maddening place where sight was nothing -- she listened, she inhaled, but everything smelled the same, everything sounded the same. It was as if she had been struck deaf, blind and dumb, as if the very senses she relied on had turned off without her permission and left her to flounder around in the dark. The wolf slowed her pace, tail curled high over it's backside aggressively, fangs glimmering between the blackness of gums and fur; even her eyes, gleaming in the darkness, were nearly invisible with the torrent of rain.
The paws were bleeding; they were leaving a trail of blood. It's time to go back, Rin thinks reluctantly, feeling the heavy drug of sleep dragging at her body. The storm helped, for though thunder rumbled out like a growl, though lightning flashed in a beautiful display, Rin was unafraid. What was weather to the Wolf? What was a little weather to her?
Ears flicking back to keep water from spilling into them, the black wolf turned around with confidence, orienting herself toward the school as she loped back, feeling the beginning of pain in each step. With adrenaline in her body, the ache of those wounds were nothing and they could run for miles without missing a step; in this weather, aware of the injury, aware of the pain, it was much harder. So they loped back toward the school, finding Rin's clothes buried under a bush, soaked through and muddy. Exhaustion hit her like a wave, crashing over her shoulders as she shifted, feeling pain as bones popped and realigned, as something delicate and very human emerged out of something beautiful and feral. Her fingers trembled as she reached for her clothes, putting them on her cold, wet skin. Mud trickles down her face, her shoulders, her hands encased in a mixture of blood and grime; she didn't care even as her teeth chattered, as her lips turned blue from the cold. Long black hair plastered to her face and her back, Rin snuck in through the library, feeling around, listening for sounds of approach.
The idea of sneaking into her room was revolting, and instead, while the Wolf paced around in her mind, Rin curled up in the farthest corner of the library, knees tucked up to her chest as she fell into oblivion, wet, muddy and bruised. What she dreamed as the storm began to lighten, as time passed swiftly and morning came? No one would know, though a little smile hovered on the corner of her mouth, even as dreams tossed her sideways and she sprawled on her side, legs tucked up close.

Kai's frown deepened as he watched the storm rage outside from the windows of the library. It was a strong one, one of the strongest he's seen in months. Outside, he watched as the lightning crash at a distance and the thunder's roar follow after a few seconds have passed. He watched as the trees sway, trying to follow the wind, but failing miserably since the wind itself knows not where to blow. He watched as the rain pour instead of drizzle, like rain is supposed to do, since he can't identify where one drop ends and another begins even with his superior eyesight. He hated it. He hated the storm and the chaos it caused outside to the beautiful landscape of the school. But most of all, he hated how it stopped him from enjoying the outside air, and instead trapping him within the confines of the school.
It wasn't that he he didn't love the library. How can Kai not love the best place to go to when he wants to find information, peace, and quiet all at the same time. It wasn't because the library was messy, in fact it was well-kept by the staff and students, mainly by the staff. But how can this sanctuary compare to the paradise called the outside? Though the library was spacious, Kai needed more space than what it provided. What he needed was the open space and the outside air, neither of which the library can provide. He let out an irritated sigh as he continued to read his book about engineering. It was one of his reading requirements and where better place to read inside the school than the library. It was empty, for some weird reason, not that Kai didn't appreciate the emptiness and the silence it brought with it. The only sounds he could hear now are the rain drops that keep pouring, the thunder that keeps roaring, and the pages when he turns them.
He continued to read though he heard some odd footprints enter the library. They went squish with every step, as if the shoes themselves were wet, not that he cared. There were also dripping noises, so the person he assumes went outside to play in the pouring storm. An idiot then. Playing out in the rain is extremely stupid since one could get cold and get sick. Not to mention, shocked or blown off if the storm is too near or the wind gets too strong. Though his latter thought would only apply to him since he's a bird of course and the wind currents are important for him. If he didn't gauge them properly, then he would fly off to somewhere where he could actually get hurt.
"Darn." He muttered softly as he couldn't read past a certain line in the book. It made no sense to him and he needed another reference book for him to understand what it was saying. With a sigh, he got up from his chair and stretched a little since he has been reading for quite some time now. He walked along the corridors and shelves, knowing where he should go and what he needs. How can he not? He practically lives in the library, only going to his room when he wants to get a decent nights rest or outside when the weather's good. He was about to reach the shelf he wanted when something caught his attention.
A girl was laying on her side, cold and wet. She was covered in grime and blood. He held back a shiver as he tried to turn away from her but he can't. She was shivering and her lips were turning blue. Though Kai may act heartless, this girl needs help and he's not the type to totally ignore those who need it. He tsked as he took off his black jacket, leaving him with his while long-sleeved polo underneath. Sure he loved the cool weather, but when cool becomes cold, he also needs to wear warmer clothes. He put it on the girl, hoping that it would at least stop her from shivering too much.

My beautiful liar why are you crying on your knees? You've crucified yourself and now denial is rising...rising...
She was breathless, her lungs constricting as the rain continued to fall, as she reached her fingers out into the darkness of her dreams and finally found it: the happiness that could not be attained when she was living, when she was awake. It slipped into her palm so easily, wrestled free with sharpened fangs; their will was omnipotent, overwhelming as they coaxed that happiness -- such a brilliant light in the palm of her hand! -- to slipping over her skin. Liquid waves of warm tingled over her body, made her smile, smile, laugh; eyes sparkled as she swung 'round and 'round, showered under that brilliant, molten light. It glittered like her eyes, lifting her up, infusing her with the idealistic warmth of love and friendship.
The loneliness was banished, the heart ache gone, gone, and she saw her brother -- beautiful, beautiful Taro with a mop of black hair, his eyes tilted like a cat. She reached out as viciously as she had for the happiness, her fangs slipping into his skin, pulling him hard, hard, against her body, pressing her body (at once Wolf and Woman) feeling the fur slip against his skin, feeling the heat of it pulsing between them. Life -- he was alive, and well, his body untouched by her cruelty, by her greatest sin. He smiled as innocently as her heart beat, as he reached up, up, entwined his arms around her neck and nestled his face in the crook. Her arms came around him hard, her claws scraping against skin: he bled, like that time -- a shaken image as realities clashed for a thundering heart beat -- but it all settled when those eyes turned to her, when they soaked up her own existence, when he made her real with his smile, with his grasping hands. Little brother!
she cries out in her heart, gathering him up as he murmurs and speaks, as he solidifies her existence, as he soothes her sin, forgiving her for all that she had ever done to him. It was an accident, she didn't mean it -- it was out of control, please, please, believe me! Those black eyes forgave all, as his scent, unburied from her horrified memory, as it gathered close and lingered in her nose, imprinting on her brain again, a fresh brand. She held him, until she could not bare seeing him anymore, and then she would let go and stare, and stare, until loneliness pulled at her and she did it again, and again. Happiness, this was happiness -- knowing, knowing she was forgiven, that she was loved despite the Wolf, despite everything she had done, and everything she hadn't even committed yet -- but knew she would. Darkness gathered behind her, crackling and terrible as her ears flicked back, as her hands released her brother -- the golden light was dying, dying, snuffed out by the intensity of her guilt, by the blackness of her sin; it was following her past -- Come, come! and she grabs his arm, her fangs biting deep into his arm; dark eyes meet dark eyes, and the light is gone, the light fled from his eyes where fangs had broken apart the most precious thing he had: blood splattered her, filling her mouth as she twisted her maw around the brilliance of that delightful taste. The Wolf rumbles: prey -- eat, eat. There is one yet. She hears a scream in her ears -- and does not realize it is herself until another, foreign scent burns her nostrils, whips her around as she stares at the oncoming darkness. What is happening? What is happening? -- Eyelids flicker as hands come out of that darkness, as she whimpers and pulls away -- as the jacket rises out of the cloud of smoke and wraps around her, tightening, tightening; the Wolf snarls, rising up suddenly, forcefully, her dream shattering as her eyes snap open, as her nostrils flare. A snarl rips out of her human throat, her delicate face buried under the savagery of her sudden fear: get away from me! The Wolf lunges forward, filling her body, every crevice filled with that terrible, terrible wrath, licking up the lines of her veins, her fingers tingling as she jerks away from the boy. " What are you dong?" hissed, angry words spat out from blue lips. Her eyes glittered in the darkness, full of nothing human as the fear widened her pupils to the side of dinner plates. Her breath came hard, fast, wheezing through her bruised rib cage. Little cuts from her run re-open with the sudden motion, ripping free an blood anew. The scent only feeds the rage, only makes her grow mad with too many emotions, too many contradictions confusing her. Which was dream, which was reality? The boy almost looked like her brother. Taro! -- but the thought is a forbidden one, and the Wolf who never regrets her actions, does not approve of the softening of Rin's eyes, the loosening of her shoulders. Was this, too, a dream? She reached out, as if she would touch him, but ... cannot make herself do it. [/BLOCKQUOTE] word count;; 862 tags;; Kai ;3 OOC;; ^____^ happiness lol
