Jayden smiled at Ryland when he signed that he didn’t mind signing. He then nodded in response to Ryland’s question. He realised he hadn’t eaten for a while, not since before he had come to this other island by ferry, and that had been a while ago. He looked around and decided that they could walk around and if they saw anything of interest, they could go to that particular café or restaurant.
This time, Jayden didn’t drag Ryland – he merely gestured for the other boy to walk beside him. Jayden didn’t want Ryland feeling like he was puppy that needed to be walked everywhere. Since they were friends, they ought to show it, despite only just meeting. Since they were both from the Academy Jay didn’t feel the need to hide himself away from this guy. He didn’t have a problem with bi people and he seemed cool. Jay didn’t sign due to him walking around and in a place like this, you could get knocked over at any moment.
Jayden came to the café and restaurant part of the mall and stopped, waiting for Ryland. It wasn’t as crowded here thankfully. He looked around at the different places and his hands began to dance.
<<So, where do you want to go? I'm thinking McDonald’s. I'm craving chicken nuggets for some reason but totally up to you – whatever you want to have, I'm game>>
He looked to Ryland and his hands, waiting for his answer. Jayden was easy – he was craving McDonald’s but he could eat something else if Ryland preferred something else. He quickly took out one of his body warmers and looked at it, content that he had chosen right. Even if he was part girl, he was known to make some bad clothes choices and had to have a refund. But this body warmer was absolutely superb. He was also glad that Ryland had bought the body warmer. He had said that he didn’t own any body warmers and secretly, Jayden was happy that Ry had bought something that Jay himself had suggested. He put the body warmer back and waited for his new friend’s answer. Like he had signed beforehand, he was easy. |

Ryland was glad that he had met Jayden – you could never have too many friends. Unless they were all attention seekers and got mad at you if you didn’t hang out with them all the time. He followed Jayden to the café area of the mall. The closer they got, the more he began to smell it. It made his stomach growl in hunger. The good thing about eating at the mall, was that all of the food was in one area. There were always plenty of choices and a lot of places to sit down and eat. He looked over at Jay as he began to sign, asking him where he wanted to eat. That was a good question that he hadn’t found the answer to yet.
He scanned the food options for a moment. Usually he got Mexican or Chinese when he ate there, so he didn’t mind a change. They also had Greek food, but he never ate there, because he didn’t know if he would like it. He was always too hungry to risk buying something he would not end up eating. Ry watched his friend pull out the body warmer while he waited for him to make up his mind. When he put it away, he took the opportunity to answer.
<<McDonald’s sounds great. Let’s go and get in line.>>
Chicken nuggets sounded really good too. He guessed there was something they had in common. As he made his way over to the McDonald’s, he saw the couple that would have been in front of them moving away. They made it in behind them to be the next in line. Thankfully it wasn’t so busy in the café area yet. He figured they had actually just missed most of the people eating there for lunch, since it was actually after the normal lunch time. He barely listened to the woman greet him and ask what he was going to get. The chicken nuggets Jay had mentioned actually did sound really good, so he guessed that was what he would get.
“I’ll have the chicken nugget meal. Can I get some barbeque with that?”
He started pulling money from his wallet to pay for the food. Ryland turned back to his friend to see if he still wanted the chicken nuggets or if he had changed his mind. He figured it would be just as easy if they ordered at the same time.
