Overall:
For one thing, Zack is very optimistic. He wants to see the good in everyone and wants to think everything turns out wonderful. He probably shouldn't because he knows there are evils in the world around him, but it's hard for him. Sure even he has had his ups and downs growing up, but he wanted everything to be good. Being this optimistic, he has been taken advantage of and made a fool of, but he shakes it off usually. Though, he likes the people that don't mind his attitude towards life, they are the fun people to him.
Something to go with that, is he's totally energetic. Like he's full of life usually when talking with people, could ramble on really in random conversations. He's getting better though, to not like, jump from subject to subject randomly. Sometimes, he even bounces off walls... Well he's gotten better at that too, except when he eats sugar, lots of it too. He also likes to laugh. They say it's healthy to laugh, so it isn't a bad thing. Laugh at others, laugh at yourself. It's all in good fun as long as no one gets seriously hurt. People who don't laugh, Zach thinks, just need to lighten up a little. Life is all about having a blast and partying.
Zachary is also very adventurous and curious. He loves to explore places, climb trees and explore unknown places. Knowing a place inside and out is what he likes to do. He shouldn't, cause he's gotten caught in places he shouldn't be going, but he does. There is something about the unknown to him that makes him want to find out more of places and how things work. Random things intrigue him, and usually he is drawn towards that stuff for a little while. He loved knowing different things and having random facts and tidbits in his head for him to pull into any conversation. His random-ness for starting a conversation at times are good. He's pretty sure people aren't always expecting that.
He's a bit stubborn at times. Like if he doesn't get his way, he might complain and slightly sulk. Don't worry, he'll get over it, he's just never happy with the way some things work out and he becomes very childish. There is no reason for this, and he knows it, but he likes to give it a shot as well. If he doesn't how does he know if it will work or not. Though, he kind of gives in easily if bribed with something. It has to be that right thing, but he will stop.
Another thing that just fits in with everything, he's totally friendly. He doesn't know any enemy that he has, at least here at this school. At home there were some kids, but he's away from that now and he's totally not caring. He wants to be you friend. He wants to hang out. That's just in his nature of doing things. He also always tries to learn an interesting fact about each person he meets to remember them by. Cause there is something about everyone that stands out, and that's what he's tries to find. That fun or quirky element to a person.
He also has this knack for picking things up quickly. Like learning things. Not purposely and stuff, but he watches other people, and he learns by watching at times. It's strange. He's picked up random dance moves, and the next time he hears the song, just starts randomly dancing stuff that he saw the other day from memory. He loves to try new things and all, so he doesn't mind these random busts of thoughts than come and go as they please. Actually, he finds it rather amusing to himself when stuff like that happens.

Appearance:
Zachary never thought we was more special than anyone else really. He had a normal look, well he thought anyways. His hair was a light brown with a redish tinge to it. He never saw himself with really short hair, so its grown out just enough. But with the length it is, it really makes his bright blue eyes pop out when he walks around. It's the contrasting different between the two things. He likes his eyes, but he knows he gets that from his mother he never knew. It's like he has a part of her always though. Kind of sweet really.
His build is that of a normal teenage boy really. There is not a lot of muscle, but there is some hiding somewhere on that body. He really had a growth spurt, and is still trying to get use to this slightly bigger body. Not that he's minds it really. He now stands at about 5 feet 10 inches, which he didn't work with well at that point. Its better now. Average weight for a healthy boy his age too. Nothing really wrong with that.
Now, tattoo's and piercings, he doesn't have any. He wasn't one to do something to his body, plus, needles make him squeamish. So, there aren't any on his body, and he is not is a rush to go and pick one up anytime soon. But then again, it's just his way of thinking, though he thinks some look really cool at times and such like that. The fact that he hates needles isn't the only reason he won't get one. The other would be cause he didn't know what to get. There are endless pickings, and he would never be able to decide. So, Zach couldn't imagine getting one it would be way to hard.
As for clothing, he dresses casual. Nothing overly fancy unless its for a special occasion, then he might go out of his way a little. But he's really just a relaxed kid, who happens to love bright colors. There is nothing wrong with bring colors at all, since they are the coolest and friendliest really. Plus its the besy was he can describe himself really.
The chipmunk is small. Just a bit larger than the size of a human hand. But they weren't never big to begin with. For the most part, a lot of his fur is a redish-rown color with the white and black stripes along the back. He also has black and white stripes that go right over his coal black eyes. His hands and feet, turn a bit more claw like with sharper nails to be able to climb up trees quickly. Also so they can climb a tree is any direction as well. Up. Down. Left. Right. And even upside down. His tail is mostly redish with a long black strip down the middle and random black furs all over. His belly is white though, as well as right under his chin when he is in animal form. It doesn't help much to blend in, but they do have really cool designs, don't they?[/size]
...history
Parents: No mother. Single father.
James Hardy Rogers - 50 - Shifter: Jack Rabbit - At one time he use to be a track runner, know for his speed racers when he was younger. Now he works at a local animal clinic with one of his good friends he's know for most of his life.
Siblings: None.
Young Childhood
Well, basically Zachary basically was his father's dream. James Rogers always wanted a kid, but he never wanted the marriage to go along with it. He always said he could never last in a relationship and Zack never questioned him. So Zach knew he was always his father's biological son, he had a donor mother, which does seem slightly weird, but he's kind of wanted to thank that person for what they did. Also, he totally understood his father's decision in what he did, plus he had a great life growing up so there was never a problem to begin with. He couldn't be any happier.
Growing up, they lived in a two family house, which was cozy for the two of them. It was just enough, since the two of them in their family didn't need to much room. Plus, they lived right near a park, which was perfect for daily trips out. That's where he learned to climb trees and walls. There were always kids around at the park, so hide and seek was always fun. Since most kids couldn't climb, or were too scared, trees were always the best spot for Zach.
The other family who lived on the first floor of the house, was an older lady and her daughter. The daughter was deaf, so they were always using sign-language. Sometimes they would baby-sit Zach when his father was quickly called to the vet clinic. They were lovely people, but when he sat down there with them, he would learn how to sign so he could be part of the conversations too. It was one of those very useful things that he came across in life and has actually still remembered to today. Those two ladies always seemed like extended family to him, since they were such a big part of his life. How could they not have been?
Adolescence
Zach was home schooled by his father. Not that he minded having to go to school and all, it was fun. Plus, he still had tons of friends that he hung out with at the park. He was always around people and stuff like that. Before the Time of his thirteenth birthday came around, he dad sat him down and had a talk with him, about shifting, and that there was a decent possibility that he too would be shifting come his thirteenth birthday. He was excited and scared at the same time, cause he really wasn't sure what would happen to him, or who he may become. He was actually afraid of losing himself, but he soon got over that fear rather quickly.
So, for a whole day he sat in his room, on the day he turned thirteen. It was actually kind of depressing for him, cause he loved to be outdoors. That was probably the hardest day of his life really. Being isolated for so long was kind of driving him insane, and he didn't like the feeling so much. But towards the middle of the day, he felt himself changing, shrinking to be more exact. Soon, he was franticly running around the room and climbing on everything that could be climbed upon. He had an idea what was coming because his father had slightly prepared him, but not for the pain. That was the worst part of it all. Plus he has to get re-adjusted with walking on four paws now half the time. Zach's mind was a jamble of mixed emotions, thoughts, and pain was thrown into the mix. But after a while he was able to calm himself down to try and figure out what was really going on.
Boy, was him room a messing with papers everywhere. But once he had changed back, he kind of felt better about it all. He really liked being a chipmunk. Like Chip and Dale from Disney. He loved that cartoon growing up. He also felt with being a chipmunk, he really was himself, cause he always thought himself fun and energetic like a chipmunk, so he was very happy with it all.
His father explained everything basically about what was happening to him. It was just a matter of time till this day came, so his dad wasn't too surprised. Though Zach knew a lot about it, his father thought it best to send him away for school with kids similar to him. It was in everyone's best interest, and not for normal people to see some dude changing into a rodent. That would just be kind of creepy. But he was excited about going away. Kind of an extended vacation for him, with the plus side of meeting other kids who could do the same thing. He was happy. New people and new places, what could be better?
...connecting human to animal
Zach from ever he was little, loved to climb, everything. And hide stuff in pockets and in his diapers. The second part, he doesn't remember so much, it's all his father tells him, and he just laughs along with it. No matter who you are, anyone could find that funny, definitely if it was them. If you can't laugh at yourself, you shouldn't really be laughing at others. There is also the fact that he is super energetic and just likes to be around. Chipmunks are very lively creatures and like to stay in areas with people, so they have to like some sort of company. There is also the fact that when he was younger, he was small for his age. That kind of changed once he hit his teen years, but he never thought he would be a big animal.

The day had been anything but pleasant for Alice, and in the back of her mind, she knew it was just going to get worse. Maybe not right away, but probably within the month, hell, probably within the week of just being at that place. Everything going on around her seemed ten times more stressful than anything she could possibly remember. Well, she had now been trapped inside her house a few days and practically all the alcohol had vanished from the entire household. Sure, she had a few, very well hidden bottles around her room, but she had to be careful, it seemed as though they were always watching. Plus the bottles ended the other night, and now she was out. Everything felt wrong this way, since she had become so accustomed to drinking every night, always having something in her system. It seemed as though everything she had done up until then was just catching up to her, and she did not like it one bit.
With everything catching up to her, Alice Taylor Hartt felt as though everything was going down the drain. Being sent to a rehab center was not how she saw herself this year. Clearly she didn’t think it was a problem. Her mind practically ran through all of her friends who could be sent there before her, since she thought they were far worse off. But no, there was no such luck in this world it seemed. Other things going through Alice’s mind was if this place even worked. How many people actually stayed clean after they left rehab centers? Or is it just a waste of money? Either way, she knew she was finding out, that hard way.
This morning, she didn’t do anything but lay on her bed. She was out of the way, and couldn’t cause anyone else trouble that was getting her ready to leave, like they were pushing her out. Plus she wasn’t trying to get out of here sooner, she just wanted to stay home in the first place. “Alice!! You get down here now!” It wasn’t her mother calling her, but one of the twins, her brother Kain. They were the most worried about her ‘problem’ and they were the only reason she was going away. So them yelling at her, wasn’t helping her move any faster. Though they had packed all her stuff getting her ready to leave. It was clear they didn’t trust Alice to pack any of her own things for the fear of what she might have snuck in. Not that she cared if they packed for her or not, the only bad thing about it was she wasn’t able to pick out her own clothes. But who cared? It’s not like she was going to try and impress the doctors or other patients there. So what was the point? Plain clothes were fine for now. On her body she wore dark, slightly torn jeans, a yellow tank top, and green, zip-up hoodie. Nothing extravagant. You only needed those kind for parties.
“Mom says we are leaving now.” Sarah’s voice rang though the room as she walked in. There was no door, no privacy for Alice anymore in her own home. People walked in and out as they liked. Sarah grabbed Alice’s hand and pulled her up and off the bed into a standing position. “Let’s go, time to get driving.” Alice wasn’t sure if she could take both parents and her two younger siblings in a care for just under six hours. Was that even possible? But they were just dropping her off.
Getting into the car, it was quiet, except for the music playing on the radio. It was like everyone was afraid to talk, but soon Sarah spoke up again. “Alice, you know we only want you to get better. Kain and I don’t want you to hurt yourself, that’s all.” Alice rolled her brown eyes and looked out the window. “If that’s all you could have left me at home. I don’t see the need to go to this rehab. I’m fine.” There was anger in her voice, and she was just upset that it was truly happening and it wasn’t a dream. By everything she was praying that it was. Nobody really said a word after that, so Alice put on her headphones and tried to relax and make this car ride go faster than what it was going.
In no time though, they were in Delaware. Maybe it just seemed much shorter, since she fell asleep in the car, for practically the whole journey. She rubbed her eyes a bit as she looked out the window onto the dreary day. See, even the day was sad that they were going to this rehab place, clearly it was a sign. And no one in her family would go for that and laugh it off as a good joke. Crossing her arms, she relaxed more into the seat, but they were soon to be arriving at their destination. This was one of those, it’s for real moments, when you kind of wished they all said. ‘Got you! Now let’s go get dinner and have fun.’ Sadly, that clearly wasn’t the case, nor was it going to be.
Soon they were driving up where they were going to drop her off. “Just so you all know, you don’t need to get out, I can handle things on my own.” It was slightly bitter of her, but she didn’t want to be babied by her parents and siblings. Plus she was already mad at them. Alice expected some sort of response to that, and people objecting, but none came. Was it for the better, probably.
As the car came to a stop, she got a jumbled mix of goodbyes, good lucks, and get better. Then at the end of that, see you soon. Liars. She thought as she got out of the car and made her way around to grab her other bag out of the back. Alice was trying to put the blame on other things, and it was coming out in a bit of anger. After pulling out that bag, she moved away from the car and watched it leave the area. She ran her one hand through her hair long brown hair as she noticed other people here as well.
Walking up to the lady she looked at her. "Hartt. Alice Hartt." That's all that she should have needed, there couldn't have been more than one of her.
