Overall:
There seem to be many contrasting traits when it comes to Maddox, but it is all a part of his complex personality. He himself is so confused over who he really is that it only makes sense for him to feel so many different ways and to think so many different things. He contradicts himself constantly even though he is not aware of it. However, when it comes to his students and his teaching he is as clear as they come.
SOLITARY
The main thing about Maddox that a lot of people around him notice is taht he keeps to himself. He doesn't get involved in problems that he doesn't need to be involved in, and he does his best to keep himself clear of all of the drama that usually occurs in the lives of his students. He doesn't have very many friends, and that is something that is completely alright with him. In his solitude he finds peace and quiet, which is exactly what he needs to sort through his overwhelming thoughts. Sometimes it gives him too much of an opportunity to dwell on things that he doesn't need to be thinking about, but that is his choice. He can be found in the library or in his office, but mostly he can be discovered outside alone. He just doesn't want to rely on people because he knows that can only get you hurt in the long run. He knows what being hurt is like, and he's not ready to go through that again.
INTIMIDATING
He's a very intimidating and fearsome individual. He instills respect in his students and his peers, but earns it at the same time. He never forces that idea onto anyone. His quiet nature makes it hard to approach him because people think he is unfriendly, which is far from the truth. His brooding personality makes it difficult to know what he is thinking or how he is going to respond, so many people don't chance it, further separating Maddox from the rest of the population. He doesn't complain. Maddox is also very intelligent, and that makes him hard to approach because of the intimidation level. They don't know what to say around him because they don't know what he's thinking, and if they are wrong. A lot of students don't answer questions because they are afraid of getting it wrong, and therefore affecting his judgement about them. That is not the case because he is here to guide and to teach, and he would slowly urge them in the right direction. However, because of all of those aspects, people are highly intimidated by him.
PROTECTIVE
EVen though he comes off as intimidating and solitary, Maddox is extremely protective over any individual that has managed to get close to him in his life. He is also very protective over his students, and would do anything to save them if it came down to a dire situation like that. He will put them before himself more often than not, and he will make certain that their well being is more important than his own. He uses his skills and his power to take care of them, and he would do anything for anyone of them. If he was close to his family, he would protect them as well, but in a way he is by keeping his distance. They are safer because he is not around, and that is his number one priority when it comes to his family and his students and friends.
PATIENT
He might be the most patient individual that one has ever met. He can gover something with his students time and time again and never grow frustrated with them. If a student is having a hard time with something, he will also be the one to approach them and offer them extra help. The intimidation factor sometimes doesn't work in his favor, but once the students get to know him, it's easier for them to communicate with him. If someone is misbehaving or being just rather annoying, he can have a hard time with it at times, but he always calms himself down and becomes the adult in the situation. That's how it's supposed to be, but if there's one thing that bothers him, it's annoying, stupid people. He never says that out loud, and he keeps his poise and his calm exterior. He is honestly really patient, and tries hard to remain that way in situations in which he just wants to lose his temper.
FRIENDLY
This is one of those contrasting traits. Even though he prefers to be alone, he can be really friendly when it comes down to it. He loves having an intelligent conversation with someone, and if his students want to talk to him, then he talks to them. He likes to interact with people, but only on his terms. He can be as friendly as they come, but only if he wants to be. On top of the friendliness at times, he is also a very good listener. He knows how it feels to not belong in the world, and he does his best to give good advice to them. He'll listen for as long as someone needs him to, for he feels that it's what he's here for. He's not just here to teach; he's here to help the students grow accustomed and used to the fact that they are different, but that that's okay. He never pushes anyone to tell him anything, but he's definitely here for them if and when they need him.
SHORT-TEMPERED
There are some times when Maddox just can't hold himself together, and he kind of erupts in a way that is not always positive. He never does it in front of his students even though sometimes they are the source of his short temper. He can grow infuriated if they keep up at something rather annoying, because sometimes it just wears him thin. However, it usually isn't always the students. More often than not it's either himself or adults. He expects more from adults and especially himself, that is just frustrates him when they aren't intelligent or they make stupid comments. And if he dwells too much upon his past, that can bring a violent outbreak as well. He'll throw things if it's really bad, but more often than not he just yells and gets it out of his system. Other times he'll shift and just go be by himself in the wildnerness. It usually takes desperate measures to can him calm and under control sometimes. He has trained himself not to shift when his emotions heighten, but it is extremely difficult when it comes to his temper.
REBELLIOUS
Maddox was a rule breaker when it came to his student time at this school, and he's known for that reputation. He would constantly find something to do that would bend the rules just a little bit, but it would always be enough to get himself into trouble. Now is not much different. His teaching methods are not conventional, and he'll take his students outside to learn firsthand of the herbs and the plants that could and would help with medicinal practices. He is more of a hands on learner himself, and he feels that people learn better that way. So why not give his students equal opportunity? He never follows the rules, and even when he was a small child he would be known for going against what everyone else wanted him to do. He goes against the grain instead of with it, and it's made life all the more interesting for him. It's easy to say that there is never a dull moment with him and his life, as well as his students. He likes to think his classes are interesting as well because he doesn't do the normal take notes and lecture. His rebellious nature causes him to be different, and he's alright with that.
STUBBORN
The thing about Maddox is that he is extremely stubborn. It is a trait that he tries to fix, but it never happens becuase he usually never realizes that he's being as stubborn as he is being. It's pretty humorous to see because he is obviously trying not to do it, but it happens anyway. It's not that he thinks he's better than everyone else, because that's not it at all. It's that he feels his ideas and plans are better than everyone else's, which can really get him into some trouble with his colleagues. He doesn't try to be pompous or ignorant in this way, but it happens. He just likes his way of thinking and doing, and it's rather unfortunate because other people do actually have good ideas, and he realizes that. But it's his way or the highway most of the time. And with that stubborness comes defiance. He won't obey if he thinks it's wrong, and he hates molding to the norms of society. His defiance is his greatest aspect because he will not do anything that he views as wrong, no matter who is telling him to do it, or if his career is at stake. He does what is right, no matter what.
INTELLIGENT
Maddox is known for his intelligent. It has been apparent since he first entered school, and skipped two grades because the level was too low. He skipped the lower levels because it was much too easy for him. That intelligence carried on with him, and he would have skipped into high school if this hadn't happened to him. And when he came to this school he exceled in his studies. He knew that he wanted to be a doctor, and still is when he's not teaching the students. He was able to grasp the concepts easily and fluently, and graduated with top grades. He nows his stuff, and that's why he wants to teach. He wants to be able to pass along his knowledge. He does, and he does his best with it. Sometimes the intelligence gets the best of him, and he gets excited and starts rattling off in class. His students don't always understand him however, so he has to take a step back and really focus. That's just how he is though, and that will probably never change.

Appearance:
FACIAL FEATURES
Maddox is known for his stern looks and his serious expressions. To see him crack a smile would be like Christmas. It happens once a year but it's one of the best days of that year. His smile is infectious, but it hardly comes around because he honestly feels as if he has nothing to smile about. If he doesn't have anything to smile about, then why waste the time? He's fairly negative when it comes to that. His face is young, but lacks the vibrancy that a twenty two year old fresh out of school should have. He tries not to let it bother anyone, so that's why he's solitary most of the time. He has a sharp jaw line ad a slightly cleft chin. His nose is rounded over and his eyes are set closely together. His ears protrude slightly and seem almost pointed at the ends, but they and the rest of his features just match his sharp personality. He usually has a bit of facial hair, but he doesn't grow a beard or a mustache. It's usually there because he forgets to shave in all honesty.
EYES
His eyes are hard to judge. Their color is confusing at best, but they normally appear to be an intense blue gray shade. At other times they seem hazel, and at other times they can be green. It depends on what he's wearing and what he's doing at the time. They do fluctuate depending on his mood as well. He has trained himself to hide his emotions as well. Some people say that their eyes are windows to their souls, but that is not the case with Maddox at all. He keeps them stoic because it is safer and easier that way. Sometimes he can be caught off guard and the hard expression they hold softens almost imperceptibly. He doesn't like those moments because then people can see that he has a soft side. When he's teaching, there is an extra light in them because he enjoys what he does, and he likes it even more when his students enjoy it. So he puts on a different mask for them, and his eyes will light up more in their presence. He can change his eyes depending on the mood or who he's speaking to as well. He feels that they are one of his greatest assets.
HAIR
His hair is fairly simple, and probably the easiest to describe. It's a sandy blonde color, and he keeps it short to keep it out of his eyes when he's teaching or just doing anything. His hair lightens in the summertime and the warmer months because of the amount of time he spends outside, and it appears to be a lighter shade of dirty blonde hair color he has. In the winter time and the warmer months, it darkens into an almost brunette shade because of the darker weather. It has never really grown past his ears because he doesn't like long hair, and he has never done anything to the color. It's all natural all of the time. To style it, he doesn't usually do much. For school he'll throw a little gel into it to make it look more presentable, but other than that he just runs his hands through it. It appears naturally messy, so he doesn't complain about it too much.
BUILD
He pays special attention to his body and to the way that he looks. He isn't obsessed with himself or anything, but he wants to make sure that he keeps himself in good shape. It will only keep him healthy in the long run. He exercises daily, and usually goes on a run in the morning or at night when it's cooler. He has weights at home that he lifts so that it's easier to get to them. He keeps himself eating healthy as well, and these methods have given him a six pack and muscles that are well defined. He hides them under his clothes, but that's not really important. He stands at about six feet, and weighs in at one hundred and sixty two pounds. Most of it is his muscle weight but he makes sure he stays at a healthy weight as well. He has the right build for his body mass.
CLOTHING
He wears whatever is comfortable in all honesty. Although at work, he dresses for success and encourages his students to do the same. He comes in with black or kakhis, as well as a button up shirt tucked in. Sometimes he will wear a time, but most often than not he is without one. He has a pair of black shoes that he wears pretty much everyday, but he also has a brown pair. He prefers dark colors though, and can be seen wearing black most of the time. He has a longer black jacket that he wears all of the time in the colder months, and he can usually be seen with his aviator sunglasses no matter what time of the year. If the sun is out, he wears the sunglasses. Other than that, he wears whatever he wants to wear. He's a fan of jeans and a comfortable tee shirt, and at home he can be found in sweatpants. When he runs, he wears a pair of basketball shorts and a white teeshirt, along with his black nike sneakers. He keeps himself comfortable because that it the most important thing. He needs to be comfortable in his clothes or he can't make it through the day.
MISCELLANEOUS
His appearance is pretty straightforward in all honesty. What you see is what you get, and he's a firm believer in that. His skin is tanned and weathered from the amount of time that he spends working outside. It usually keeps the dark color throughout the winter time because of part of his heritage. His hands are calloused and rough because of his work, and he does his best to keep them clean. He works outside when he's not at school, and he also works on his car and his motorcycle. He's good with his hands. Anyway, he wears what he wants to wear and he does what he wants to do just because he can. He has a tattoo on his back of a saying that means family because even though he can't be with them, he is dedicated to them and he does love them. That's the only tattoo he has, and he doesn't have any piercings. He wears a necklace with his brother's dog tags on it, and he never lets that out of his sight.
PANTHERA TIGRIS TIGRIS
His shift form is that of a white bengal tiger, or panthera tigris tigris. The cat in which he turns into is not the biggest cat known in the world, but it is definitely one that demands respect. When he shifts, he weighs in at a respectable four hundred and forty pounds. At full length he is ten feet long, and at his shoulder he comes in at three feet. He's low to the ground and long, but he's powerful. His muscles are clearly defined throughout his massive body, with his haunches and his shoulders being the strongest. He keeps himself fit in this form as well, and can be known to travel long distances as the tiger. He is one of the bigger males of his breed, but he is a bit shorter than most. He makes up for that with his spirit however, and his power. He really is a powerful animal, and that was seen when he was first changed. But that will come later. His paws are the size of plates, and his claws are razor sharp. They cut down his pretty easily, and he finishes it off with his long and very sharp teeth.
Maddox's coat makes it hard for him to blend in sometimes. The wite color stands out and contrats with the surroundings of the woods, and that is one of the reasons as to why he prefers and loves the winter time. It's very hard for someone or something to pick him out when there's snow on the ground as well as mixed within the trees and stark foliage. His base coat is the ivory shade, and he's decorated with the black stries that are so well known in his breed, whether it be the bengal or the white bangel. His stripes are darkest by his spine, and as they travel downwards to hug his abdomen they fade into a smoky gray until they finally disappear beneath his stomache. His tail is ringed heavily with the black markings, and his ears are black. On those black ears, he has one white spot behind both of them. It is trademark of the bengal tiger breed. His face is regal with the black stripes making a petern around his eyes and his snout. His whiskers are long and white, and his eyes are the smoky gray that they usually are in his human form. It's really the only aspect that he keeps as a tiger. But overall, he is a beautiful animal, although sometimes he despises it.

The brothers were closer than close, and he doesn't blame or hate Maddox for what he did. He has the utmost respect for his little brother.)
History
BIRTH
He was born to Daniel and Meredith Raynes whole and healthy. He wasn't premature, he didn't have any health problems, and in their eyes, he was perfect. His big blue eyes looked up at them inquisitvely, and he didn't scream as most babies did when they born. He was quiet and for a moment that scared them. But the doctors said it was normal sometimes, so they shouldn't worry too much. They brought him home two days after he was born, and that was when their first born Alden really met him. He knew what was happening because he was five and understood that he was going to have a new sister or brother. When Maddox was brought inside the home, Alden couldn't be happier. He wanted to protect his baby brother and he wanted to teach him everything that he could. His father had told him he would need to help the little one, and Alden was more than happy to. The little boy was all smiles for his little brother Maddox.
Maddox was a quiet baby, and that just gave hint to what would be his quiet nature as he grew. He slept when he was supposed to sleep and he ate when he was supposed to eat. He hardly ever cried and he only cried when he was hungry in all honesty. He played and he exceled as a baby, and was soon starting to walk at the age of two. It was clumsy, but he still had a handle on it. He even potty trained at the age, and his parents began wondering if there was something more to their baby. When they brought him in to a specialist, it was discovered that he had a higher IQ than most babies his age, and that they should think about applying him into the best schools when he was old enough. Since his parents were a lawyer and a doctor, both successful, they could afford it. The attention on Maddox however made Alden a little jealous, and for a year or so, he began to hate Maddox. It was never anything bad, for he never acted upon that emotion, but it was something that bothered the little boy. However, that soon changed when Maddox only wanted to be with his big brother.
TODDLER
His toddler years were nothing special, because he seemed to fold back within himself. His parents worried and considered having him see yet another specialist, but Daniel convinced Meredith to let him be for now. He had always been a quiet kid, and he didn't see the need to fuss and worry. However, Meredith was right. When Maddox turned five, bad things started happening. He grew violently ill, and they were afraid that they were going to lose them. Alden would have nightmares about his little brother dying each night that he was in the hospital, but it was soon discovered that the little boy had meningitis. His fever spiked and threatened to end his life, but the doctors and hospital staff were able to get him stabilized. He was hospitalized for three weeks, but he soon recovered even though he was set back education wise. He was given a month to reccoperate and redevelop, and it was soon seen that he was still as smart as he was before, maybe even more intelligent. Maddox was given a clean bill of health, and Alden was able to rest more easily at that point. Maddox loved kindergarten, and he finally started speaking more because he wanted to tell Alden and his parents more and more about his half day spent there.
He began making a few friends, and they would come over for play dates. Meredith was ecstatic because not only was her baby boy doing well and making friends, he was alive. And that was something that she would never take for granted ever again, not for either of her boys. She kept a closer eye on them from that point on, and made sure that they did all that they could to remain healthy. Maddox's father started getting the boys involved into sports. Alden had already been playing baseball for two years, and Maddox had always loved kicking the soccer ball around the backyard, even though it was never pretty. So Maddox was signed up for soccer, and even though he enjoyed it, he was never excellent at it. He kept at it however because it made his dad happy to see him playing a sport, but it was hard for the six year old to do what the other older kids were doing.
ADOLESCENT
The adolescent years were probably the most difficult. It was his little rebellious stage, and his emotions and personality traits were most noticeable now. It bothered his mother because he was turning into a very solitary character. His short temper was discovered by his mother when she began pressuring him to have more play dates. He didn't want to, and she just kept pushing. So Maddox finally snapped and yelled, storming away and slamming the door to his room. Meredith was so shocked at her normally calm and respectful boy's nature that she couldn't even yell at him or scold him for that act. SHe talked to him later about it and apologized for pushing him, and Maddox apologized for yelling as well. But he went back to reading his book. Maddox loved to read, and he already had a book shelf full of books that should be too hard for him to read. However, he had already gotten through half of them without much need of assistance. If he did need help with a word or a meaning, he went to Alden. The two were becoming increasingly close, and Maddox idolized his older brother. Maddox was now nine, and Alden was fourteen. And strange things were beginning to happen to Alden.
He would go and spend more and more time with his father, and the two would be seeming to have important talks. Alden disappeared for a week when he turned fourteen, as did Maddox's father. Meredith explained that they were going on their own little vacation, and when Maddox turned fourteen he would be going on the vacation with his father as well. He accepted that explanation although he was a bit wary of it. Something didn't seem right. What he didn't know was that their father had taken Alden off into the secret bunker the family had below ground. Daniel stayed with Alden throughout the entire shifting, but unfortunately had to lock him up so that he wouldn't hurt anyone. Daniel shifted when Alden did so that he could still be with him and not get hurt, for Daniel was a lion, and could take whatever Alden was going to turn into it. And what the young boy did turn into was a black panther. He went after Daniel immediately, but Daniel was there, strong and patient until it faded. Maddox would be going through the same thing soon enough.
TEENAGER
Alden came back from that week refreshed and energized, and Maddox was jealous. He also seemed to be hiding something, which was not okay with Maddox. But he would let it go. He went through the next few years excelling in school and getting top grades. He ended up skipping two years because he was too advanced for the material. Maddox was a lower level genius, and he loved the scientific side of things. He pursued experiments and research projects and soon became very interested in what his mother did. SHe was a doctor, and had always hoped that one of her boys would pursue her career. Maddox loved what she did, and was soon reading books on medicine and practices. He loved it, and he kept advancing. When it came to his high school years,it was obvious that he wanted to be a doctor, and he would become just that. He was already doing college level work at age thirteen, so his mother thought it looked promising. When he only had a week left before his fourteenth birthday, his father started ushering him to go on a week long trip with him. Maddox didn't want to go because he was doing so well in school and had refused to miss a day. He didn't want to jeapordize anything. But with his mother's gentle urgings and his brother's words that he should go, Maddox agreed stubbornly. He wasn't happy about it, but he supposed that he should go anyway. His father seemed excited about him going, and Maddox didn't want to disappoint him.
However, his father didn't plan for what happened next. In all of the generations of their family shifters, each and everyone shifted on their fourteen birthday. He was prepared for Maddox doing the same, but he should have known better. THe kid did everything ahead of everyone else, so why should this be any different? As they were getting the camping gear ready in the back yard, Alden was there with them. Alden was eighteen and had enlisted in the army, much to his mother's dismay. But he would be a great addition, especially with his shifting ability. Alden was helping them get everything ready when they heard a yell from Maddox. Daniel knew what was happening and shifted immediately, but Alden was not so fast. As Maddox stood in his newly acquired white bengal tiger form, confusion swept through him. And then instinct took over. He saw Alden in front of him and attacked before anyone could stop him. His father tried his best, but Maddox was young and strong. He was able to pull him off, but Alden was struggling for breath through his ripped open throat. Daniel couldn't go to his son's aid because he was pinning Maddox down, and things seemed to be getting worse. Meredith came running out and Daniel felt Maddox changing beneath him. As Meredith came sprinting towards the three, Daniel transformed back to his human form and grabbed her in his arms. He didn't want her seeing it.
She was hysterical and screaming, knowing Alden was dead. Maddox was lying on the ground, panting from all that had just happened. He was in his human form, but he was covered in blood, and could taste the metallic flavor in his mouth. It made him physically ill knowing that it was his brother's blood, and he began vomitting over and over again. It was awful, and his mother wouldn't even look at him, or Daniel. The family was able to make it seem like Alden was attacked by a wild animal out on a run. They lived in the part of the country that things like that happened more than they should. The police didn't investigate, and the wake was closed casket. Maddox couldn't even look anyone in the eye that day because of what he had done. His mother had already told him that she hated him and wanted him gone, and he could tell that Daniel was not happy either. The father understood the most that it was not Maddox's fault, but he couldn't help it. He had lost a son. WHat he didn't know was that he lost both sons that day. Maddox went home after the funeral and got there before his mother and father. The fourteen year old packed his bags and took his brother's dog tags. He hasn't let them out of sight since then. Maddox ran away that night, leaving his parents to their grief and their hatred. That was when he found the school.
Maddox was told about it by some old lady on the street. Somehow she sensed that he was different, and when he discovered she was a shifter as well, he listened to what she had to say. She sent him to this school with a recommendation, and he entered the science and health program. He still wanted to be a doctor after all of that. He graduated at the top of his class and soon had his shifting ability under complete control, even when he lost his temper. His solitary nature never changed however, and he kept himself busy. He couldn't face the real world however, and applied as a teacher. They knew his education history was above excellent, so they hired him on immediately. He got comfortable, and has been teaching here now for two years. It's not a life he's proud of, but it's a life and he's thankful for that. He still misses his family, but he knows that he can never go back.
PRESENT
Maddox still holds the dog tags that belong to Alden. He never tells anyone about him or what happened because he is a coward in that area. He understand that what he did was completely wrong and uncalled for, but he can't change that now. He just hopes that his parents someday forgive him, although he knows that that will never happen. Alden is still close to his heart, and he wishes and prays that it could have been himself instead of his brother that day. Maddox despises what he is most of the time, but he hides that behind his permanent mask. He needs to to survive in this world. He teaches and he's also a doctor here to whoever needs to be healed. He's good at what he does and he loves what he does, so he knows he needs to stay here. His mother never wants to see him again, and he's certain his father feels the same way. He belongs here more than he does anywhere else.

Rowan looked to Roxanna as she stood before him, and even in her silence he was astounded by her beauty. He didn’t know how he had never seen her before, but he wouldn’t put it past himself. In the streets he usually kept to himself unless the people came to him because it was just easier. He didn’t want to sound rude or anything, but the women on the streets barely let him ride through without waving him down. And of course Rowan wasn’t the one to turn anyone away, so he would listen for up to twenty minutes or more as they went on and on about themselves. Rowan wouldn’t be the man to ignore a woman. It wasn’t right, and it wasn’t appropriate. Especially for a prince. His father had taught him to be a better man, a gentleman, and he wasn’t going to let him down. The King expected a lot from Rowan, and Rowan did his best to fulfill his father’s requirements. He wanted to make him proud, and he wanted him to rest easy knowing that he was more than capable of doing this. But his trips through the streets of Lydel had never brought him to Roxanna, and he was beginning to regret the fact that he didn’t pay attention.
As Rowan studied her as she looked to the ground, he found that what he was feeling inside was nothing like anything he had ever felt before. Biting his lower lip quickly, he looked to the side, but looked back as she brought her own gaze upwards. As her bright cerulean eyes turned to his, he lost his breath. Those eyes held so much, and he found that they made her that much more beautiful. Regaining his composure, he listened to her words and offered her a gentle smile. She was so gracious, and he was surprised. Most would just thank him and carry on, but not her. She was too kind hearted to do such a thing. Giving her his handsome grin, he spoke up in response, giving her a small bow of respect. ”I hope to be considered your friend Milady. It would be an honor and a pleasure. And as for your brother, do not hesitate to venture here more often. This is your brother’s home, and therefore yours as well. You are always welcome here Roxanna.” He finished quietly, glad that he was able to speak more properly now that he had gotten over his initial shock at seeing her for the first time.
Calm now, he offered her his elbow, glad that he could show her the grounds. He would show her where her brother was first because he had a feeling she was anxious to see Rhys. It was perfectly acceptable, and Rowan was pleased that he could be the one to bring her to what would make her happiest. Her slender arm linked with his own muscled one just felt right. And with that touch, he felt suddenly protective over her. He didn’t want anything to happen to her, and he knew that as long as he was with her, he would be at ease. He wasn’t going to be the over protective one in a relationship, but he knew if and when he was in one he’d feel a lot better when he was with his wife or his lover. It was just how he was because he had lost his mother and he was now losing his father. If he had been with his mother maybe she wouldn’t have died, and maybe if he had been with his father more he would have noticed the man becoming ill in the earlier stages of the sickness, and therefore he would have gotten cared for a lot sooner than he had. Rowan felt awful for not realizing his dad was so sick, and he still felt extremely guilty for that, just as he felt guilty for his mother’s death.
Pushing those thoughts away from his mind, he focused on keeping step with Roxanna and not making her walk too fast. Rowan was known for his fast paces. He couldn’t sit still, and his walk was like a jog to some people. But as he thought about that, he suddenly became aware of her trembling. Furrowing his brow, he wondered what would make her shiver on such a warm day. The castle was cooler than most places because of all of the stone, but it was still quite warm in here. Rowan looked to her in worry, and questioned gently as well as politely. ”Are you alright?” He didn’t know if he had done something wrong, or if something was bothering her, but he wanted to fix it if he could. Looking to her for another moment, he directed his attention to making sure he wasn’t doing anything that would make her uncomfortable. He didn’t think so, for his elbow was linked gently with hers. Utterly perplexed, he sighed softly to himself, and then became aware of her question. He still wanted to hear her answer, but he would be polite and respond to her. ”Well normally I’m out training with the men or my horses, but my father made me promise to take the day off. So I’m extremely bored today, but normally I’m out training. What about a lovely woman such as yourself?” He questioned easily, hoping she wouldn’t mind answering that question.
In another moment they had reached the door to the back grounds of the castle. He knew the path that would bring them across a shorter route. Opening the door for her, he let her pass through first and then closed it behind them both. Linking arms with her once more, he felt the stares of the servants and the other members within the castle and the grounds. He knew the ladies would be furious that Roxanna had managed to procure his attention, and he saw some of the nasty looks they were giving her. He didn’t know what had gotten into them. Ignoring them for the time being, he walked along easily, and saw the training ground up ahead. And that was when he heard the clunking of wooden swords, and saw the familiar movements of one of the better knights. Grinning at the sight of Rhys, he knew how excited Roxanna would be. Coming to a halt outside the main area, he turned to Roxanna and spoke to her, his grey eyes finding her blue. ”This is where you will find him most of the times. I’m sure you have some catching up to do Milady.” He said with a lopsided grin, stepping back and indicating over to her brother. He would fade back while she greeted him, and he figured she would want to spend the rest of the day with him. He wasn’t going to interfere on them, so he let them have their moment while he heard the whinny of a familiar horse. Looking over his shoulder, he caught sight of his Friesian stallion Haligan, who was being watched because of his troublesome ways. Hal was in the paddock used for the soldier’s horses, but he was alone. Rowan grinned and headed over to him, stroking the tall stallion’s nose affectionately. ”What have you done now boy?” He questioned, scratching Haligan’s cheek and then patting his muscled neck while waiting for Roxanna to let him know what she wanted to do.
