x With all the chaos over and things returning to Normal, Theo found himself feeling happier than he had been in a while. The sounds of the storm had scared him and it had taken him a long time to get to sleep most nights. He was still quite tired but catching up on his sleep now. Despite losing sleep he had also built up a lot of energy, seeing as he couldn’t go outside as much. He had spent a lot of free time wandering around or pacing up and down.
Today he had felt like doing something, though he didn’t know what. He wandered around until he came to the concert hall. The small boy took a peek inside. It was empty, so he decided to go inside. He liked it in here, though he could imagine how scary it would be standing up on stage during a production. The entire hall filled with people looking at you… it would be a lot of pressure. Theo had been told that one of his problems was that he was too timid. He didn’t mind performing in front of a small group, but didn’t know if he’d be able to in front of a big audience. He hadn’t ever had to though, so he might be good at it.
Theo made his way to the stage, climbing up and looking out at the empty seats. He imagined they were full of people, looking up at him. He closed his eyes, thinking. He would be scared, with the lights shining on him and the people staring at him. But they would expect something from him, and he would hate it if he let them down. He started singing.
Theo often sang to himself. It sometimes helped him to feel better, sometimes he just did it because he felt like it. He enjoyed it, but hadn’t really imagined singing in front of a big audience. He tried to think of what it would be like when he finished, the people applauding him. Theo had never been much of an attention seeker, but it would be nice to have all those people congratulating him. It would be amazing. He would still be scared though.
Theo sang, keeping his eyes closed, trying to imagine what it would be like. He had a vivid imagination, which meant that his daydreams were often unrealistic. He had no idea what it would really be like, but he was sure it would be scary. He finished singing, but kept his eyes closed for a minute, imagining the response he might get. He was smiling as he opened his eyes, happy with the thought of all those people applauding him.

Serenity wandered through the halls of the school, her heels softly clacking against the floors of the hall, the sounds echoing off of the walls of the abandoned halls. There was barely anyone inside, they were either in town, or wandering around the grounds, looking for something to do other than sit around, so they can get rid of all the built of energy they had. It was no fun being cooped for a long period of time, especially in dorms, drama, causes a lot of problems, mostly in the female dorms, raging hormones can kill a lot in people.
She wandered through the halls aimlessly, there was nothing to do, for her anyways, she had already gone out on a run with her aunt, frenchbraided her hair, than got her hair frenchbraided, and got a manicure and pedicure, she desperately hated her aunt, but yet she completely loved her. It was these mixed feelings that confused her the most, the love/hate relationship she had with her family, mostly her aunt. Tomorrow they agree'd to go back to the hate/hate side of their relationship, she laughed to herself, reality was definately a pain in her ass again.
She eventually found herself infront of the concert hall, or whatever the hell they called it at this school, in her "normal" school, it was called the auditorium, where concerts were performed, plays were acted out, and things unmentionable happened under the stage, they were only unmentionable because the people who ran the stage lights were underneath the stage and they freaked out whenever you asked them how they controlled the lighting. She had decided it was magic, what else could it have been? As she walked past the door, she heard a voice from the other side of it.
She slipped in, it was the kid she and Zuri had tortured, his eyes were closed though, and she could tell that he was ending soon, he had a good voice, it surprised Serenity, he was the cutest child alive, and he could sing, pretty good for a fox-boy, he had more talent than she did in that area, but she could sing a little bit, not much, maybe he could teach her a few bars, though she doubted he would want to, just in case she got a little touchy again, she was sure he did mind it.
When he stopped and opened his, she waved and spoke, making sure she spoke only after he opened his eyes to avoid scaring him, she didn't want to scare him, he was delaget, even if she had to keep reminding herself, over and over again, it was hard, hard.
"You have a wonderful voice, if I had known you could sing, I would've have been a little nicer to you, I can sing a little bit, not much, I always detested my voice, my family said it was nice, they tried forcing me into choir, I hated it."
She waved again a light smile on her face, she was dressed in her aunts cloths, which covered her completely, something that she was not used too. She fidgeted lightly and walked closer to the stage silently, her eyes watching him, looking for a hint that he might be scared or worried, she hoped he wasn't, that would ruin all the fun. She had mentally laughed when she said she would have been nicer, she knew she wouldn't have. She had to blink and stop to keep her from yawning, she was a lot more tired than she thought.

x When Theo opened his eyes he had been expecting for everything to be the way it was when he’d closed them, just him alone in an empty concert hall. The last thing he had expected was for someone to be watching him. Not just someone, but someone he knew. Theo’s eyes widened in shock, if only for a second. He stared for a short while, unsure of what to say. He had been so sure he was alone, it felt weird. Almost like an invasion of his privacy, he thought he might have blushed a little.
”Um… Serenity… Hullo.” It took him a minute or so to calm himself. He managed to return her wave. He felt silly standing up on stage now. But her words made him feel a little better. She liked his singing. The boy smiled, it was nice to just be complemented. What did she mean she would have been nicer to him… well, considering how she had treated him before. ”I’m sure you have a lovely voice. Maybe you would’ve enjoyed being in the choir.”
As Serenity came closer to the stage Theo’s mind raced. He tried to organize all the stray thoughts, be sensible about things. Last time they had met Serenity had left him really confused. But then it was Zuri who had started things and she did say she would be nicer to him. Maybe things would be alright. The boy stayed where he was, not really sure of what to do. Should he leave the stage or wait and see what Serenity would do. He decided on a compromise, moving to the edge of the stage and sitting down.
Theo noticed that Serenity was dressed quite a bit differently from how she had been when they had last met. She didn’t seem right in these clothes. That was an odd thought, but somehow she seemed less comfortable. Theo was wearing the same stuff he always wore; a shirt and a loose pair of jeans. His hair was in the same messy state as it always was. He liked it messy, even though it sometimes got in the way.
”So, um… what are you doing here? I mean… you just surprised me a little. I wasn’t expecting anyone to be here. I was just… sort of practicing.” He gave one of his small smiles, not really sure what to say. He felt like he should reassure her about her voice, after all, it was quite nice. Though he’d never heard her sing, it was nice enough when she spoke. He would probably end up messing up his words. He just sat there, feeling unsure.

As he sat down on the stage she was nearing him, she decided to just hop up on the stage and sit next to him, she had heard him speak, but how was she to explain she had nothing to do, or no one to do, to a five year old. That was how she portrayed him any ways, he had the innocence of a five year old, and the mind of a fifteen year old, but yet, he was neither of those ages, or at least she hoped, she didn't even have any idea what his name was, much less his age.
"I had nothing to do, so I ended up walking through the halls, I heard a tiny hint of singing coming from this side of the auditorium door, so, I peeked in, to my shock it was my favorite Foxxy standing on the stage with his eyes closed, singing with a wonderful voice. You young man, are gonna be a heart breaker."
She hugged him and kissed his cheek she had a plan, she continued to hug him, but she didn't do anything else, if there was anything her aunt could teach it was how to eat up adorable children without touching them all over, a skill, Serenity had yet to master, she didn't doubt she would, maybe with this devilish child, she could work on that.
"You're gonna break a lot of girls hearts , starting with your Mamma, and going to mine. By the way Handsome, what's your name anyways? I don't think I caught it when we talked first, and if I did, I completely forgot it because I called you Foxxy. Honestly I thought Zuri was gonna eat you a live because her shift, eats small animals like your shift, glad she didn't, I would've been even more heart broken, than I would have to explain to your Mamma why you're never going to get to talk to her and see her again, she would be devastated, I can't do that to someone's Mamma."
She knew she was going every where with what she was saying, but she didn't mind, she was going to try pulling the child out of his shell, he was so shy, she had no idea how he could perform in front of an audience, maybe she could help him with that, that would be nice of her, and she could learn self-restrain while doing so, she would propose that theory to him. Than a thought hit her, he had remembered her name, but she couldn't even remember if his was told to her, much less what it was, she felt bad than, guilt started to eat her, she almost pouted, but she stopped herself, she would show no weakness, none, none at all, if she failed at that, she would go jump off of the roof and hope to die, she was weird, she probably would.
"So, I noticed you're really shy, which doesn't really help a performer at all, what if, only if I promise to keep my hooves to myself, that I try to help you out of that shyness, it could help with your performing, and the only thing I would ask in return is for you to slap me if I try to touch you in any way other than hugging, handshakes, or high fives. I need to learn self-restraint, as you probably found out when we met, you little addictive, handsome, child, who will be a heart breaker."
She laughed lightly, even though she had the full intent on being serious, if he realized that or not was up to him, she wasn't sure how well that would work though. It depended on how willing he was to be left alone with a near total stranger.

x Theo wasn’t too surprised when Serenity jumped up and sat next to him. He hadn’t expected her to just stand there. He sat sort of awkwardly, not sure how to behave around the older girl. He nodded to show he understood what she was saying. He was here because he was bored too. He wasn’t sure how to reply to her comment about his voice or saying she was going to be a heart breaker. ”I don’t want to break anyone’s heart.” was all he managed before Serenity hugged him and gave him a kiss on his cheek. He blushed immediately, feeling himself going red. His cheek felt like it was burning.
She didn’t let go of the hug either, making him feel all the more awkward. Was he just like her toy? Something to play with for her amusement? Was this going to just be a repeat of the last time they’d met? With her crawling all over him and making him uncomfortable? He didn’t know.
Theo listened as she spoke. The way she spoke was interesting, he didn’t know what to make of it. Her words were what was catching his attention. She was saying he would break her heart? He wasn’t sure how he was meant to take that. And asking his name… hadn’t he told her before? He couldn’t remember. She was still talking though, not giving him a chance to answer. Theo was just as relieved as Serenity seemed to be that Zuri hadn’t eaten him. That had been an interesting day.
As she continued speaking though, his attention was drawn by something else. Having to tell his mother about him being eaten… He looked down at his feet, dangling off the edge of the stage. He didn’t like thinking about his mother. ”My mum died when I was young. It’s ok though, you didn’t know.” he added the last part because whenever he’d told someone in the past they had apologized, as though it was their fault. He still got a little sad when he thought about it, but not nearly as upset as he used to get. ”My name’s, erm… Cub.” He said, trying to get back on topic. He was going to say his name was Theo, thinking back to when his mum was alive and he didn’t have a nickname. He preferred people calling him cub though.
Theo listened to her proposal. It was odd, first that she said hooves… Did she tell him her shift? It must be something with hooves though. He kinda liked the sound of that, help with his shyness. He didn’t understand why she wanted him to slap her. She was saying she needed to learn restraint… so maybe she couldn’t help herself? He blushed again at her compliment attached to the end of her sentence. ”I like the sound of that, you helping me. I don’t know if I could slap you, but maybe I could tell you to stop?” He smiled a little as she laughed. Maybe she was joking a little. Still, if she could help him lose his shyness it would be good, right?

It had taken her a moment to register what he had said after her run on forever sentences, she couldn't help but blink stupidly. There were two things that could silence her in the entire world, that was French, and death. Both she hated a lot so she often stopped speaking when it was brought up. His poor Mama died, that was really depressing, he was so young, shy, and kind, he didn't look like he would've been traumatized any where in his life. Maybe he had seen a councilor about it, she wasn't going to pry any further in that subject, not even in her mind. "Well then Cub, I do suppose we're in the same boat there, my mama's still alive, but they stopped paying attention to me when I had a baby sister. I started living in a barn, no joke." She blinked and laughed lightly, she actually had liked living in the barn with Thunder. She smiled brightly, mainly to herself, Cub, that was a strange name, she preferred Foxxy, but she'd call him Cub, because that was obviously his preferred name. She smiled lightly at the rest of his speak. "I have found that slapping is most effective against me, but okay, you can tell me to stop, I will try to, I promise, can't guarantee anything though. I need to start wearing a warning label, maybe that'll help warn people of me." She laughed again, she was having a good day. "Besides that, I have a boyfriend now, so I shouldn't touch anyone else, but you're still a child so I'm allowed to hug and kiss your cheek. I hope you don't take offence to that, really I wasn't trying to be offensive." She smiled kindly, she didn't want to offend him, he was so cute, and quite cuddly considering she still hadn't stopped hugging him, she was very clingy today she guessed, or she was just so bored it amused her to continue hugging the child, he kind of reminded her of a puppy or teddy bear and it made her smile considering she loved stuffed animals still, even as a teenager she was obsessed with them. They made her extremely happy which was something she loved. "Alright, I'll help you, and you'll try to help me, sounds good to me!" Notes: i was obsesssed with Hinamuse so it's like.... x Theo didn’t believe Serenity at first when she said she had been ignored and had to live in a barn. Surely no-one would be tat cruel to their own child. But after a while he realized she wasn’t joking. He stared at her for a second. How could they do that to her? And how could she seem so happy and cheerful now? ”I’m so sorry,” was all he managed to say. Serenity gave a little laugh, not a joking laugh, but a laugh that was supposed to lighten the mood a little. She followed this up with a cheerful Smile. Theo couldn’t help but admire her, being so cheerful about something so awful that had happened to her.
Theo was beginning to think Serenity actually had to try to hold herself back from touching people. Maybe it was a personality trait she couldn’t hold back. Theo couldn’t ever see himself slapping her. The young boy had mixed feelings for this boyfriend of hers. Partially he felt sorry for her, both for having such a forward acting girlfriend and partially because of Serenity’s habit of touching other guys, or at least touching him. If she was like this with others things could get bad. But Another part of Theo felt that whoever Serenity’s boyfriend was would be lucky to have such a cheerful girlfriend, even though she was a bit much for Theo.
He wasn’t sure how he felt about her calling him a child. He was quite a bit younger than her, but he wasn’t really a child. But she didn’t mean any offence by it. And he had to admit he kinda liked the attention he got from her, even though it made him blush. The young boy returned her smile. She was quite nice really, even though she tormented him. Or was she tormenting him? Was she just acting normal. He did like her hugging him. It made him feel safe and warm and secure. He didn’t often get hugs, in fact after his mother had dies he had gotten almost none. Though she made him a little nervous. It was nice to have someone treating him like that. For the first time he found himself leaning in towards Serenity, enjoying the hug.
The young boy smiled at Serenity, tilting his head to look at her. She was nice really, even though she made him nervous. ”Thank you. I guess I’m not really sure that it would be like to sing in front of an audience. I was trying to imagine it when you walked in. I don’t really know though. I guess I kinda got nervous when I realized you had been watching. I guess… I don’t know. Do you know what it’s like?” He had no idea what to do. He didn’t know how to make himself less nervous. But that was for Serenity to figure out, right?

Serenity smiled gently, he had said he was sorry, that was sweet of him, but what he didn't realize was that it was Serenity's choice to live in the stables, but her mom hadn't cared less, she hadn't even noticed that she was gone, that was what had upset Serenity, there was no denying that, and than Iseki had made logic, she had said her mom didn't love her, and she believed that ten fold. Her mother had warped her definition of Iseki, and than Iseki had straightened her definition of Iseki, to kind, sweet. Serenity smiled at his question, oh did she know what it was like to stand up on a stage and sing, it was mandatory for her class to sing on stage concerts to get an A, she was a soloist, she always though she had sucked at singing, but her teacher obviously thought otherwise, she didn't know why, her voice was wavy, though it was really just a strong tone. Many people despised their voice, their talents, Serenity just ignored them, there was no point to stand out, when the most powerful thing that you were had to hide. "Standing on the stage is like singing in a shower. There isn't much you can do but hear and see the water fall down. When people applaud it is the water beating down on the floor of the shower, when you open your eyes and see the people, they are the water falling from the faucet. If you see them as people you become nervous, if you see them as water, it's just like a shower. It's not that hard, though I might have confused you. If I have I apologize, tell me if you followed that."She smiled, it was true, that's all it was, that was a better way of seeing things; you can't close your eyes on stage, you certainly can't visualize people in their underwear because that would make you laugh and choke while singing, so just imagine a shower. A place of security and absolute solitude, where no one can judge you and no one can hear you, just imagine it as you would imagine life, as a flower. You are the flower in the shower, waiting to bloom as soon as it turns on. That is how Serenity saw it. x Theo had to admit he liked Serenity. I mean, sure she had really played him around the first time they’d met, and he was still a little nervous around her, but she was nice. She had agreed to help him. Sure she was being quite clingy, but it was nice really. He didn’t feel so intimidated by her, in fact she seemed a lot friendlier. Her hug was feeling more comforting to him than the slightly scary embarrassing thing that it had been last time they met. Maybe it was because they had been in a more public place before. He had felt really self conscious in the room with all those people, and these two girls all over him. People had been giving them weird looks, especially when Zuri had shifted.
But that didn’t matter now. This was different. Serenity was being friendly, though she was still hugging him and would presumably be kissing his cheek at some point in the future. It was different. Theo had never had any contact like this. Growing up without a mother, and growing more and more distant from his father, Theo hadn’t ever really had anyone to hug. His friend’s mother’s would occasionally give him a friendly hug, usually accompanied by something like ‘you poor thing’, but that was different entirely. Theo had grown up in an odd sort of way. He remembered back to when he was really young and his mother would give him a hugs all the time. Then she died. His father gave him hugs for a while after his mother died, though he probably needed the comfort as much as Theo did. The hugs gradually stopped though. Theo missed them, but eventually came to terms with the fact that he lived in a world with little in the way of close physical contact.
Now though, it was completely different. He partially realized that he may be reaching out too far, making the hug he was being given seem like much more than it actually was, because that was what he craved. But no matter what it meant, Theo didn’t feel as embarrassed now, he quite liked it.
The boy listened as his new instructor spoke. She had quite an interesting way of thinking about it. Pretending the crowd was just water. He could do that. He tried to imagine it, closing his eyes and thinking. It could work. ”That’s god advice. I think that could help.” He looked at Serenity, smiling. She was really quite nice when she wasn’t torturing himself. ”Thank you. But… what do I do when everyone is silent.” Theo thought he might be able to handle things once he got going, if he could let the music take him. It was when you first got out there and had all those expectant faces staring up at you that things were hard.
