The large cat-shift lay in the grass patiantly, she was still in human form, but her animal istincts were playful and she felt like a playful cub again, she kind of liked the childish feeling she was getting. She had been out playing with her niece earlier that morning, they had both been shifted, and the Eurasion Lynx, Iseki, chased the Black Arabian, Serenity, with the idea of eating her, even though she had completely friendly thoughts in her head, horse tasted disgusting. She actually didn't try to eat a horse before, but those tiny details don't matter to her. Iseki had stolen her nieces clothes, she had taken her light light blue jeans and her light pink shirt that her niece almost always wore with a bikini top under it. But she wore a light blue silk blouse underneath it. Her hair was frenchbraided by Serenity and Serenity had her hair frenchbraided by Iseki, so much for wanting to kill eachother, they were typical girls on the inside, they didn't have to hate each other all the time. She rolled over, a weird sounding meow coming from her mouth as she stretched, she was exhausted, but still had a lot of energy built up in her, it was confusing her. She looked at the grass infront of her, her eyes growing cross-eyed, she needed someone to hang out with, she was going to go mad. She was extremly lonely, as her niece had told her, she needed a man. Or a one-night thing, she didn't care which, as long as she had someone. Every now and than, she needed to make up her mind, and what her niece was doing, she disaproved of, her niece was worse than she was when it came to sleeping around, and getting into a relationship was just going to get her into trouble with the way she was, it already had, she laughed to herself. She rolled over again, multiple times, carrying herself farther to her right than she was originally. She lay on her back staring at the bright blue sky, she felt so peaceful, and so restless, it was a strange feeling that she was not used to. She sat up as she heard someonewalking behind her and she started to turn around. "Hello han- shit, your a girl... Hello gorgeous!" She waved with a strange smile on her face that seemed to be natural for her facial structure.

x It was nice outside, and Emily left the school hoping to enjoy the day. She was dressed the same as ever, bright green t-shirt with a picture of a flower on it, white linen trousers and a pair of sandals. Her large straw sun hat was firmly on her head and the little bicycle bell around her wrist. Her camera hung around her neck and her satchel was draped over her left shoulder. She stepped out of the doors and stood for a second, looking around.
The girl’s pale features were sheltered from the sun, she sometimes wished she could just lie and sunbathe like everyone else. It didn’t bother her too much though, she didn’t like dwelling on things she couldn’t change. She knew she would never be able to do some of the things most people did every day, but so what there was still a lot she could do, and she was lucky to be able to do anything at all. There were several times in her life where she could have died. But there was no use in thinking about that either. Concentrate on the positives.
Emily set off, picking a direction at random and not really caring where she was going. She had spent some time with her brother earlier that day. She hadn’t spent as much time with him since coming to the academy. He had his own friends here and having his little sister tagging along would probably embarrass him. She had made a few friends of her own but didn’t know where any of them were today. It was ok though, Emily didn’t mind being alone, though she preferred the company of others. Who knows, maybe she would meet someone today.
As she walked Emily saw other people sitting about, enjoying the sunshine or having fun with friends. As she made her way further away from the school the number of people around her decreased. Emily saw someone lying on their own, rolling around occasionally. The way she was stretched out made Emily think of a cat lazing around. She gave a small smile and headed off in the other girl’s direction, though she wasn’t suite sure why.
As she drew near the girl turned to look at her. Emily was surprised to see that she looked too old to be a student here… but then she wasn’t acting much like a staff member. The young girl gave a little confused frown at the young woman’s words. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of them. The frown was quickly replaced by a smile. It was quite funny really. Emily was pretty sure no-one had ever said ‘hello gorgeous’ to her before, and certainly never started saying what she thought must have been ‘hello handsome’. She wasn’t sure about the swearing but then no-one swore in her family. She knew some people swore as part of normal conversations, though she couldn’t see the need.
The young girl gave a little half laugh and returned the wave. She wondered for a moment weather she should reply in the same way, but it wouldn’t seem natural to her. She kept smiling as she replied; ”Hi!” She was a little confused by the girl in front of her. She seemed young and playful, yet she looked older than any student. Not by much though. ”are you… having fun?” she asked, jokingly, not quite sue what to say.

She looked at the child a little more closely, she smelled good, a beautiful scent, bird, but that was okay, she was a cutey. She appeared far too young to be a student there, now that Iseki thought about it, she had no idea what grade this school started at, or the average age group that most shifter gained their shifting abilities, she should've paid more attention to that stuff before she applied for a teaching position, but, she needed to make her job a lot more interesting than it was going to be, or else it would suck.
"Hey honey, what grade you in? You look for to young to be a student here, but far too mature to be anything but." She smiled kindly at the little girl, a sweet side rarely seen in her came out like a flower blooming in the sunlight, the only thing that could get through to Iseki was a darling little child. She never understood why everyone else got on her nerves in a nano second. There was just something so sweet about a child that made her feel a soft spot,it honestly felt that she needed to go to a shrink again.
"Pardon me deary, I'm Sayuri Iseki, the Cognitive Pshychology teacher, or something along those lines. I hope you can forgive my inapropriate language, and I hope I did not offend you, I can just get a little strange when I get lonely."
Her voice was gentle and she smiled kindly at the child. Sheslowly stood up and stretched, the urge to make a weird cat sound was just barely being suppressed. She looked up at the sky, her brown eyes brightening as the sun hit her, and she shook her head, she was tall, for a girl.
She looked down at her nieces outfit, it felt nice to be out of things that weren't hers, where she stictly had to dress herself to look appropriate. She enjoyed the casual clothes she had stolen from her niece, and she had hoped her niece would be satisfied with her clothes. She fell over randomly, though it was obviously planned considering there wasn't a loud thump, or an angry groan, or a lot of swearing in Japanese. She planned on behaving herself around the innocent child, that was only fair, and that was only decent, it was still an innocent.

x The robin shift smiled lightly, The young woman seemed nice. There was definitely something feline about her, but at the moment she just seemed playful. Emily was a little confused about what she was doing at the school, could she be a member of staff? She was dressed too casually, and wasn’t behaving like a staff member. Still, she looked nice.
Emily’s smile continued as she was asked what grade she was in. It was true she looked younger than she was, and quite a lot of people thought she was too young to be here. She especially liked being called mature though, everyone at home had treated her like a child. Now that she was being independent and doing things for herself, it was nice that people noticed. ”I’m in seventh grade. I know I look young, but I’m Thirteen.” She spoke in her usual cheerful, chirpy voice and returned the smile sent her way. Both of them seemed to be infected by the cheerfulness of the other, at least that was how it seemed to Emily.
The woman introduced herself. Sayuri Iseki, that was an interesting name, it sounded nice. And he was a teacher. Well that was a bit of a surprise. Emily’s smile grew, not for any real reason, she was just happy, and the big playful kitten-woman in front of her was nothing like any other teacher she’d ever met. ”Oh, you’re feeling lonely. Well you don’t have to any more, you can talk to me if you want. You have a very nice name… should I call you Miss Iseki?” she asked, not being entirely serious, but not joking either. ”My name is Emily Holmes. And I wasn’t offended, it’s just not something I’m used to hearing, it’s ok though."
The teacher stood and stretched. Emily looked up, she couldn’t stop comparing her to a cat. She was nearly a foot taller than the little robin shifter. She looked nice stretching in the sun. A little thought crept into Emily’s head that maybe she could be like that when she got older. She could maybe be just as happy and playful looking but still be successful. Cognitive psychology sounded very interesting, and difficult.
Emily tilted her head a little, Sayuri was interesting, and a little confusing at the same time. She was alike a playful kitten in the body of a teacher. Wmily wondered if she was a shifter. She must be if she was teaching here. It must be hard finding all those skilled teachers who were also shifters. As the teacher flopped to the floor Emily couldn’t help smiling again. She was amazing. The young girl lowered herself to the grass beside her, feeling a little strange sitting with a teacher like this, but not weird in a bad way, it was kind of nice. ”So how did you become a teacher here? Were you a student here as well? Can you shift?” the curiosity inside her was growing, she wanted to know more about this strange teacher.

Iseki was still a little exhausted, but she didn't dare let it show, she didn't want to offende the little angel infront of her, it was weird hearing her thoughts. She was calling a little girl an angel, those thoughts didn't go through her mind often. Her niece would laugh and her sister would cry, her brother would call the cops and say she raped her, she had that feeling. Her family had a very negative image for her, and she didn't blame them most of the the time, she knew she often did deserve it.
She nodded as the girl stated her age and her grade, a small smile coming to her face, the poor girl was a shifter at a young age, than again, Iseki herself had shifted later than the average age group should have shifted, and she did cause some problems, yeah.
"Seventh grader huh? Pretty cute for that age group, and you don't seem near as obnoxious. I'm...how old am I? Twenty-four? Twenty-one? I have no clue, somewhere in that general area. I lost count at five years old, I don't bother, I am old."
She laughed lightly and sat up she felt like she had ADHD the way she kept moving, but she just felt like an overgrown cub, everyone got like that sometimes. If they didn't she would try to make them, if that failed, she would go cry in a corner.
"Lonliness is no fun, so I thank you for your company. Thank you for the compliment, I was named out of the love and kind- ness I know as Japan. Outside of the classroom I go by Ise or Ise, or just Iseki, Miss and/or Ms. makes me feel extremely old."
She laughed again, such a bright child infront of her, bright as in cute and friendly, she had no idea where she stood in on her Academics, she had just met the girl, and she severly doubted that the child was in her class. Most children had no interest in pshycology and such things like that. It was just out of their grasp, they either thought it was hard, or extremely stupid, the only reason that Iseki had gotten into psychology was because she was going through a shit load of therapy when she was younger, she didn't care.
"Emily, a pretty name, it fits you well. It has a tone of grace, and elegence, I think your parents named you well, even if you don't have those attributes. I just met you so I can't really judge, that would be unfair, unknowing is the hard part."
The teacher nodded, mostly to herself, but she figured that the child could see her do it. To be honest the only reason why she taughed Cognitive Psychology was so that she could teach a field in psychology, she despised science. She turned her head as the child spoke again.
"My first Shift I was fifteen or sixteen, I am unsure which any more, I am a Eurasion Lynx, and my mother sent me here. My older brother soon followed. I teach Cognitive Psychology because it was the only Psychological field available at the time of my appliance, I had gotten into psychology when I was a girl, because I had seen many different psychologists and psychiatrists in my life, nothing special."
She hoped that would answer the girls questions that she wanted to know, and she hoped it would explain why she was so cat-like to the curious. Notes: There's Iseki's story! Ise = Ice or Eesa She loves Emily <3 Tag: Emily the Robin o.o Song: Mirotic by TVXQ *it's Korean*

x The young girl still didn’t know what to make of Iseki. She was a teacher… a member of staff. But she seemed to be acting more like a student. She was like a big kid. Like a little ball of energy. It made Emily smile. If only all teachers could be like this all the time, school would be a lot more interesting. Emily liked school but it would be all the nicer if all the teachers were like this.
Emily gave a little modest smile when Iseki said she was cute. She got called cute quite often. She wasn’t really sure how to respond, other than saying thank you. And she was glad she didn’t seem obnoxious… were most people her age obnoxious? It was odd that she didn’t know her age. Emily had never heard of anyone not knowing their own age before. She couldn’t help a look of confusion crossing her face, though she continued smiling.
” Thank you, I think you are really pretty,” was it ok to say that to a teacher? Emily was sure she wouldn’t mind, she was returning a compliment. ”It’s odd that you don’t know how old you are, if you don’t mind me saying. But even if you are twenty-four, that’s not very old, all of my teachers were older than that. You look really young. I kind of thought you were a student when I first saw you.” She didn’t know why people of that age said they were old. That was where you were old enough to be free and do what you wanted, and you still had many years of life left ahead after you were done.
The young girl found it amusing that Iseki couldn’t seem to sit still, like she had too much energy. Emily, still sat where she was, felt a little like being more active too. The young teachers energy was infectious. ”You’re welcome, I hope I’m good company. What’s Japan like?” Emily loved learning about new places, and hoped to someday visit some of the places she’d heard of. ”Oh, okay, I’ll call you Ise then, she said, choosing the second pronunciation. It sounded nice to say.
As Ise laughed again, Emily couldn’t help thinking about how amazing she was. It was almost like they were the same age, or at least similar ages, not eight years apart.. or eleven. Depending on how old she really was. She was really quite confused, but in a good way. ”Oh, thank you. I never though about myself as being graceful. But thank you anyway.”
Emily liked hearing about people shifting. Although she didn’t like the stories about people being attacked by shifters when they first turned. A Lynx sounded beautiful, and once again Emily felt like asking if she could see. But she knew shifting was a personal thing you couldn’t just ask for. It seemed a little odd that she had taken the ob just because it had been there though, but is didn’t really matter. Emily wondered if it was hard for Iseki to talk about seeing psychologists. She did try to dismiss it, like it was nothing. But surely it affected her quite a bit. The young girl moved a little closer to the teacher. ”I’ve spent a lot of time in hospitals, I’m a little broken. It was quite scary sometimes, but I think it made me a better person. Everything changes who we are.” Though Emily didn’t really realize it, she was quite mature in some ways, just like Iseki had said. She had some really well developed views on the world, and on life. In that way she really was more mature than she realised.

She listened to the girl patiently, she was glad that she had complimented her back, not many people did, they mostly just said thank you and got on with the rest of their lives, Iseki could tell that the little angel in front of her was something different then the ungrateful brutes or reality. Iseki was much like those brutes her thoughts had just mentioned and she knew it, but somehow it never bothered her, because when it came to be necessary she could lie her way through, or act, she was kind of decent at acting, a little bit. "Thank you, if you think I look young, wait until you see my niece, we look like identical twins, I'm not joking either. Even her mother and my sister-in-law have problems telling us apart, it's hilarious at family gatherings, it keeps the two of use amused." She laughed lightly, of course she would have been amused by constantly being called Serenity, it was what they both hoped for, just because it made their family mad, and it annoyed each other as well, Christmas was always a pain in the ass for those two, they hated it. Iseki smiled to herself, she needed to change, just as much as her niece kept saying she was going to change, her every molecule. The only difference was, Serenity was doing it for love, Iseki was needing to do it in order to keep her job, thought she doubted that was possible, she had gone to school here, so their was a chance that she would be slightly favored, and than there was a chance she would be fired if she blinked wrong, she was such a messed up child, and that had followed her to her brand new school. She had found it funny that she had zbecame a teacher of the thing she needed most, psychological help, but she had always been a strange child like that, and a strange adult. That was one of the only things she had in common with her family other than Serenity, they were all psychopathic lunatics. She just laughed every time someone called her normal, or sane, or crazy, or insane, what ever she was called, she almost always laughed about it, because it was always true, or so far off it had to be funny. Those were her only choices. "How much a person remembers about themselves, comes from their background, mine wasn't the prettiest, and we never celebrated birthdays, so I stopped counting, there was no true point. Though now that I think of it, my niece is seventeen, I'm seven years older, so I have to be twenty-four, there is no denying it. That I'm sure of. But I will tell you something right now, age is a misconception, how old you feel is all in your mind, how old you truly are, that's a physical fact that can never ever be changed." "Japan is just another place, though they hold morals a little more carefully there, and you have to be careful of what you say, and how you say it, other than that it functions a lot like America nothing overly special. She continued to listen to the girl, hospitals scared the hell out of Iseki, it always reminded her of a mental asylum, she had never been in one, but she was always scared that she would get locked up, biggest night mare of her life was when she had a nightmare about , it scared the hell out of her. "Hospitals scare me..." Note: Sorry it's not in format all the way, I'm tired x x

x Emily Smiled at the thought of Iseki and her niece together at a party or something, it would be funny seeing everyone get confused. ”I bet that’s fun. I’d like to see you and your niece together like that sometime. Do you try to confuse people, like dress the same? Is she a student here?” It would be like meeting twins, Emily thought. She had never met any twins, though she had wanted to. She wanted to find out if they actually did finish each other’s sentences and pretend to be each other to confuse their families and feel pain at the same time and stuff like that. It was silly but it fun.
Emily had always been really friendly towards her teachers and they had always been nice to her but she never imagined she’d be sat here talking to a teacher, like they were both students. She didn’t think any student ever thought like that, there was usually a barrier between student and teacher. It was quite nice, but strange. Emily sometimes wondered if other people, like her teachers, felt they needed to be nice to her because of her frail appearance and sickly complexion, but she never questioned it, did it really matter if they were being nice to her… did it?
Emily knew she was treated differently to other people, even other girls her age. They found out that she was unwell and treated her like she was made of glass. Emily sometimes wished she could be just like them, even if people wouldn’t always treat her so nicely. Kids could be mean but for some reason she seemed to be immune from the worst of it. That was why she liked her brother so much. He had always just treated her like his little sister, it didn’t matter that there was something wrong with her. He had changed a bit since she’d nearly died and he’d been blamed, but he was still the best big brother in the world to her.
Iseki had an interesting way of speaking, it made Emily want to sit and hear more. But the words that were coming from her made the young girl want to say something. How could you not celebrate birthdays? ”I’ve never heard of someone not celebrating birthdays, they’re so much fun. But I think I like the idea that you’re as old as you feel. I think I feel about as old as I am really. How old do you feel?” She said it in her usual quiet voice, her tone showing that she meant the question innocently.
Emily looked to the sky, thinking about Japan. She didn’t know much about it but she still wanted to visit. She wanted to experience other cultures and capture them in her camera, then come home and tell everyone about it. Maybe she would do in the future. ”It sounds nice, America needs to be a little politer sometimes. I’d like to see it someday.” she said with a smile.
The young girl frowned again when Ise said she was scared of hospitals. Two thoughts crossed her mind. The first was that it was an odd thing for a teacher to admit to a student, then again, she didn’t seem like a teacher at the moment. The second thought was that she had upset her. ”Oh, I’m sorry. Have you… had a bad time in a hospital or… I’m sorry, you probably don’t want to talk about it. They’re not so bad if you think what it would be like if you didn’t go.” She gave a little encouraging smile, hoping Iseki would return it. She hadn’t meant to upset her.

“My niece and I, I fear, do not get a long all too well, but I’m sure we could manage to come to some sort of mutual agreement to satisfy one’s curiosity. We do not dress a like, but we have been known to switch clothes, like these, I have taken her clothes, and she has taken mine. It is different, and different, is healthy. Serenity, a student yes, going to stay that way, probably not. She is not the most well mannered and behaved children here.” Iseki looked up at the sun, her eyes squinting as they tried to adjust to the vast amount of light that the bright yellow ball of fire created. Her mind wandered by to eighth grade astronomy, one day, the sun would explode, like every supernova does, and it would take out the galaxy with it, all mankind would be erased. But it seemed impossible to think that such an energy that had lasted for centuries would just suddenly die. But it had to be, the scientists had said it. Just liked they said it was impossible for a normal human to be anything but, that they had no special powers. But how could those very same scientist explain the people who could tell the future and read minds on occasion? They called them insane. They said that humans just couldn’t unlock the full potential of their brain compacity, what if those who could shift, had done that, and they had somehow managed to shift into a different species all together, it was possible, well, maybe. It was either that or a bunch of humans were experimented on, and they bred, creating mutants, but she highly doubted that her second choice was possible. But…she did believe in government conspiracies, now she was talking like she was insane. The very reason why she feared hospitals, her mother always called the mental hospitals. “Birthdays are nothing but a symbolization, it depends on the persons persona if they believe that they have gained something by aging another year, or if they believe it’s a waste of time. Sometimes, it appears to me both. But than, it drags on my life making me feel ancient. But I feel as if I am still yet a teenager, not of old age, not of young age, but right in the divide.” She continued to stare at the sun, just another star high in the sky waiting for the day that it should implode, like all of the stars, a sigh almost past her lips, but she held it, she felt oddly at peace suddenly, she had no idea why, her impaired thoughts and judgement might have been the cause, but she knew not, what her mind thought, it was worse that she was speaking in a weird, almost poetic style, it would have had to have been a free write poem, but it still worked. “I fear hospitals for many reason, but most obvious, and most feared, is needles, every time I go to the hospital I get a shot, I am scared of needles, they make me extremely paranoid, they are sharp, and they go into your body, not something I like.” She paused in thought, her mind going back to the shifting thoughts, and the sun, what if they were all wrong, what if, all humans were doomed to suffer some unnameable disease and be forced to attend a school that no one heard about but the people with that disease like the shifters were, like an alternate reality to their own. She wondered how fast she would get fired if she were to have a mental break down and tell the world their secrete on national television. A second thought decided against it. “What’s your shift? I’m a Eurasian Lynx.” The question just kind of slipped from her mouth, but she minded not, she was truly curious. She finally looked away from the sun and back at the girl her eyes dilating to let in enough light to see but not too much to be blinded by the brightness. Notes: xD it would be interesting especially since Serenity wants her dead now xD Words: 682 Tag: Emily <3

x Emily looked around for a moment, taking in the scenery. It was a rather nice day. There were a few other people in sight, all lazing around, chatting or reading, enjoying the day. Emily loved sitting out on nice days and watching the world go by. She preferred sitting in the shade to out in direct sunlight like she was now but her hat helped greatly. Emily liked all kinds of weather, they were all unique and different and made great pictures. You could take a picture of the same place in different weather conditions and have a completely unique shot each time. From a relaxing sunny summer shot to a saddening rainy picture to a magical snowy image. Sunny weather was one of her favourites though, it always brightened her mood and made her feel better. She had to be careful though, since she burned easily and was vulnerable to sunstroke.
She looked back to Iseki. It was sad that she didn’t get along with her niece. Family should be together and love each other. It was nice that they would be prepared to put aside their differences for her. ”Oh, Thank you. It would be amazing to see you two together.” Emily wished she could have a relative like her who she could trade places with or swap clothes with. It would probably be easy to tell them apart though, Emily being so pale and frail looking. It would still be fun though. She wondered what Iseki meant when she said her niece wasn’t the most well mannered or behaved. She couldn’t be that bad could she? Not bad enough to get kicked out, surely.
The young student looked as Serenity turned her eyes upward, towards the sun. Emily looked up herself, but just a little. It hurt her eyes too look at the sun, even if it wasn’t directly. She looked back to the young teacher. She seemed lost in thought. It was funny how people could do that. How they could look off into space and get lost in thought, sometimes even blocking out the world around them. It was funny to see people breaking out of this state when someone talked to them.
Iseki spoke again, still staring at the sun. She had strange views on birthdays. She liked them but at the same time didn’t like them. It was strange, but what she said was true. ”Oh. That makes sense I guess. I love getting together with everyone for a birthday party. It’s so much fun.” For Emily birthdays were more about family and friends coming together and having a good time than anything else, though she liked the symbolism of it. One thing that she didn’t care for though was the presents. Though she liked receiving and especially giving gifts, it didn’t matter as much as seeing everyone you loved.
Emily had to agree with Iseki, needles were unpleasant. She had experienced many injections in her short life, so she was used to them by now. That still didn’t make them any more enjoyable. ”I don’t like needles either, but if they help make you better, then it’s better to have them in you for a second than to not have the injection at all.” She knew that whatever she said probably wouldn’t help Iseki become more comfortable around needles, it’s often hard to convince people they don’t need to be scared of things like that, especially if they can hurt them.
Iseki turned back to look at the younger girl. Her shift was a Lynx. Emily’s eyes lit up, she loved all animals, and felines were some of her favourites. ”Oh, your shift sounds lovely. I bet it’s just as beautiful as your human form is.” She really wanted to see Iseki shift and take pictures of her as a Lynx, but she couldn’t just ask that. ”My shift is s European Robin. Not as beautiful as a Lynx but I love flying.” Flying was one of the most enjoyable things in Emily’s life. If she could live as a robin and fly whenever she wanted to she would be happy. But she was too much like a human to give up everything she knew.

Iseki blinked and looked at Emily, she had no idea what she was talking about, birds were gorgeous especially because they could fly, it was what made a bird, a bird, their beauty was unbeatable, even the vultures; at a distance; were considered gorgeous in Iseki's eyes, that might've been because Vultures were large enough for Iseki to eat, but she would never voice that truth of though. "Birds are gorgeous, no matter size, shape or form, they are graceful in the air, and are the most beautiful colors. It is the species of the bird that is Mother Nature's true children."Whether Emily understood Iseki or not was a thing to be found out, because honestly, Iseki wasn't sure what she was saying, just that she was saying something that she felt that she needed to say, it was who she was, and comforting people became awkward for her, so this might have been a way to say that she was trying to make Emily feel better about herself, she didn't know why, she didn't seem like she was they type to need any more comfort, but who knew, maybe Iseki's psychological intelligence was taking place for once; that would have been a relief. The chances of that, however, were slim, she didn't use her mind as often as she should've now that she had graduated College, teaching her classes were easy, reading the handwriting was impossible. She always wished they would email in their writing assignments because Iseki was very "Save the Tree's!". Mainly because she loved climbing trees and sitting in them, though that was hard to imagine with her acting how she always did now. Physically, she had grown up, appearance wise, she had grown up, mentally, she was still the same old fifteen year old who made her psychology teacher sit in paste her second year of high school. Of course she had gotten into a load of trouble for her pranks, but she still fell in love with everything she learned, her teacher hadn't appreciated sitting in paste, eventually he kicked her out of class and made her make up his class in private, not that, that stopped her from pulling pranks on him. She was just the type of person to always get into trouble, she loved pranks, because it gave her attention, that she was too lazy to retrieve any other way. That and it was her inconspicuous way of flirting with him; okay she did, she got detention a lot. "My Birthday I always had fun at, I just never celebrated it, it scared me to get old, I like being young, it's so much fun to be a child, don't ever grow up! It's so boring being an adult, I matured, appearance and physical wise, but mentally, I should still be in high school going through that trouble making phase all high school children go through!" She laughed brightly again, she liked this child, she was so kind, it made her feel good to be able to talk and laugh, in reality, she was a very social, but very dark social, person. Her animal instincts were the social part of her, and she was feeling very feline that day so, that explained a lot. "Needles; Yeah, I still cry when I need to get a shot. That's why I didn't go into a medical career, no matter how many times you stick me with a needle, I would rather die, than get better if you stick something pointy in me. Not even psychology could save me from that phobia." She obviously didn't mind admitting her fears and such things such as that, it didn't bug her, what were her students going to do to her? Hold it against her? How would they do that? Threaten to announce it on the loud speaker? She didn't care, it didn't bother her that people knew what made her tick, because she almost always had a way around it. "So Miss Emily! Do you happen to play any instruments? I try to play the flute, and some of the violin, but music was never my forte, though I am getting better, slowly, at the violin, the flute, I'm hopeless but I try! Speaking of instruments, what are you trying to major in?" The random side thought, was quite random, it was just who Iseki was, she was never exactly topic point and dot, but she was fairly interesting or at least she thought she was. Whether Emily though she was, was still to be seen, the hyper active, kitten like, teacher yawned and smiled brightly, such a perfect day. x The young girl smiled cheerfully as the teacher spoke. She seemed like she was trying to make her feel better about her shift. It wasn’t necessary. Emily loved her shift, birds were beautiful creatures, and she couldn’t be happier with what she was. ”Thank you. Birds are lovely animals, they are graceful and beautiful. I feel so amazing and free when I shift, but I think cats are more beautiful and just as graceful. It’s just my personal favourite.” In truth Emily loved all animals, but cats were so beautiful and graceful, she was allowed to have favourites.
Emily looked up at Iseki. She liked talking to this teacher. She was kind and sweet and appeared to be trying to help Emily. The young girl appreciated it, though it wasn’t necessary. She was pretty happy with who she was. She wasn’t perfect, and she was a little broken, but she was still happy and wouldn’t change the way she was. Well… maybe she would, but only a little. If she was different physically then would it change how she behaved? Maybe it would make her a different person. Maybe she wouldn’t be as nice. She wouldn’t like that.
The young robin shifter couldn’t help giving a little ‘aw’ when Iseki told her about how she saw birthdays. ”Aw, that’s sweet. You’re not old at all, you shouldn’t worry about getting old. I don’t know if I ever want to grow up really. It would be fun to be able to do anything I wanted but It would be a little scary too. And… I don’t think I’d like to make trouble for people.” She smiled some more in response to Iseki’s laugh. She was a very fun person to be with. She was easy to talk to, even more than most of the other teachers she’d had over the years.
Emily had always had a closer relationship with her teachers than the other students in her classes. Her parents had insisted on all of her teachers keeping a close eye on her in case anything went wrong. She had spent several lunch breaks with her teachers when she was feeling unwell and couldn’t manage to play with her friends.
No matter what the teacher said, Emily couldn’t believe anyone would rather die than take an injection. ”But… if it makes you better. Why would you want to die. I… Can’t imagine any time where I’d want to die.” The girl almost shivered at the thought. Though she knew she was going to die some day, probably a lot sooner than other people her age, but the thought of just giving up and wanting to die was one that scared her.
”Oh, that sounds nice. I bet your music is beautiful. I can’t play any instruments. It would be nice to learn though, maybe I will someday. Oh, and I’m majoring in photography.” She lifted the camera hanging around her neck a little to illustrate her point. If Iseki had given her half a chance she would have shown her the photos on her camera, and if she had her laptop with her too she would go through a good few photo albums on that too. Give Emily the go ahead and she could go through every photo she owned. She realised that people didn’t always care about her photos and that she probably annoyed them by going through them all but she just loved her photos so much and wanted to show them to everyone she could.
