Major Explanation: As far as the actual character goes, Brandon has some background with teeth (as far as his family tree goes). Considering alligator's have between 70-80 teeth that continue to regrow every time they come out I figure that the Dental major might be good for him. Alligators and Crocodiles are usually commented on their "smiles" as well and one of the main reasons you can tell the difference between them is based on their teeth. The teeth of the crocodillians are extremely interesting and unique from any other species and tell much about the animal. Therefore, I think the Dental major is the perfect major for this character.

[/li][li] Lurking:[/u] He's a really good sneak. If something doesn't seem right to him, he can find easy ways to sneak around and figure out what's actually going on. He can find things out about people that they don't want him to find out, easy. He can easily be somewhere spying on someone without them ever realizing.
[/li][li] Teeth:[/u] He finds teeth very interesting and that's one of the reason (well, the main reason) he wants to persue an occupation in dental hygiene. He finds it really fascinating how bones can grow out of your gums and be used to chew and grind and all that jazz. Most people think it's weird, but him...not so much.
[/li][li] Adventure:[/u] He LOVES adventure and loves getting himself into situations where he has to figure out ways out of them or do something exciting and new. Doing one new thing a day is something he aims for.
[/li][li]Meat and Food:[/u] Fruits and vegetables? YUK. Meat and more meat? YUM. He eats more than he probably should and doesn't mind at all. Food is one of his favourite things. He's always up for trying new dishes as well.
[/li][li]Personal Space:[/u] He is very territorial and does not like it when people get too close to him. He is usually shy but will have no problem telling you off if your getting too close. Continue coming close and it could get a bit physical. He needs his space and respects other people's.
[/li][li]Tanning:[/u] Brandon loves basking in the sun on really hot days and getting a nice tan. Not only does it feel nice but it is a good appearance enhancer as well.
[/li][li]Problem Solving:[/u] If things aren't going Brandon's way then he has no problem taking 2 minutes to think of a way to make it work. He's really good at thinking of ways around different situations to make it work in favour of him
[/li][li]Competition:[/u] Brandon is extremely competitive and loves competition. He doesn't like losing at all and he will have no problem going through drastic measures to make sure he's done all he can to ensure a win. He doesn't take losing very well at all.

[/li][li]Clear Water:[/u] Ok so yes, he does like water, and yes he doesn't mind clear water. However, he much rather prefers murky water since it's easier to sneak up on prey and people and much easier to stay hidden.
[/li][li]Boredum:[/u] When there's nothing to do, he HAS to find something to keep him occupied. He can't just sit around and do nothing. That's a huge no no for him.

[/li][li]Birds:[/u] Birds are great to eat but they are so hard to catch as a gator. They have great senses and jolt and flap and molt and...ugh. He just hates those creatures so much.
[/li][li]Cheery People:[/u] You can't possibly be cheery ALL the time. It's impossible. If he finds people like this, he tries extra hard to get them upset. Seriously, who are you thinking your cheer will spread to people? Yes I may have a great smile, but I don't use it 24/7
[/li][li]Fruits/Vegetables:[/u] The absolute grossest thing that you could possibly eat. Yuk, they're disgusting.
[/li][li]Look Alikes:[/u] He hates it when people try to look like someone else. It's not cool. Be yourself, be original, and don't try and ruin the looks of the person your impersonating against. You're actually the biggest loser for trying to do that. It's bad enough gators and crocs get confused, but if anyone ever tried to mock him then he would punch them flat in the nose.
[/li][li]Cleanliness:[/u] Brandon is a huge slob and doesn't really like things neat and tidy and in their rightful spots. He likes things messy and scattered. It might have to do with him being a bit lazy, but he just can't be on top of things to get everything clean all the time. He's just learned to love messiness.

[/li][li]Falling Teeth:[/u] Even though as an alligator he loses and regrows his teeth all the time, he has a huge fear that his perfect smile won't last as a human. If he ever lost a tooth he wouldn't know what to do with himself. The very thought freaks him out.
[/li][li]Himself:[/u] Sometimes when he knows his temper will explode and he'll do something he will absolutely regret, he fears himself. He fears of what might happen and he fears of what he might do.

[/li][li]Athletic:[/u] Not only is Brandon very agile and speedy, but he is all around a very good athlete. He hates to lose and his competitive edge has caused him to be the best he can be at almost any sport or event. He likes proving himself to be the one to watch out for in competitions.
[/li][li]Confidence:[/u] Some people might see it as "snobby" or "cocky" but no, it's just confidence. Brandon has so much of it that it helps him and hurts him depending on the situation.

[/li][li]Short Fuse:[/u] He speaks his mind and doesn't think twice before getting violent. He has a really bad temper and he can take one thing the wrong way for it to blow up into a huge ordeal.
[/li][li]Shyness:[/u] Even though it takes him only a little while with a person to overcome his shyness with them, he doesn't just go up to people, shake their hand and introduce himself. No, that's not him. He rather is timid when he doesn't know the person.

The Athlete[/u]
Brandon is a great athlete. He has no preference when it comes to aquatic sports or land sports because either way he will give it his all, and in doing so he will have a great time. Not only is he extremely agile and quick, but he is really competitive. He hates to lose and absolutely can't stand it when he knows that someone has done better than him. He will go to great lengths to make sure that he wins even if that means, yes, cheating. He really doesn't care if he cheats and comes out on top. Why? If the other team doesn't know then it can't hurt them can it? He knows it's wrong and he really does try and stay away from it because he loves challenging himself. However, if it has to happen and things are NOT going his way at all, then you better believe that Brandon is going to do everything in his power to make sure that he comes out on top. It's actually gotten really bad. One time he "accidently" tripped someone while playing soccer when they were running full speed and broke their leg. Ok, so he didn't mean to break his leg, but he did want to injure him. He's working on getting this attitude under control though.
The Territorial Quality[/u]
So everyone has their personal space, correct? Obviously. Some people are really lenient when it comes to letting people burst the personal space bubble and come into their territory. Brandon will not allow it under any circumstances. He likes his space and will warn you if you're coming too close. Always. If you don't listen he will show you what it's like to come in his "bubble" and that person will usually get some sort of punch. He hates it when people don't listen to him and comes into his space and a bit of both can set him off. Plain and simple, listen when he warns. This attitude goes the same with his stuff. If his roommates touch his stuff, go near his stuff, or breathe the air around his stuff he will be pissed.
The Problem Solver[/u]
Looking at Brandon and knowing his personality, he usually gets the stereotype of being stupid because he's tough. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Brandon is in no way a genius, or even close, however Brandon does do well academically. He does enough to get himself in the high B's and low A's range which is what his minimum goal is. Since he wants to get into dentistry school, he needs good grades and he doesn't mind working hard for them. He does occasionally skip class, but doesn't do it enough to affect his marks. He is also really good at problem solving.He loves conflict and can figure his way out of almost anything.
The Loyal Friend[/u]
It takes a lot to get past some of the qualities that Brandon has and it takes a really special person to become a good friend. It's hard for people to get in the friend zone, however once there, they will stay there forever. He will fight for them and they will always be first on his list of people to please. He doesn't have too many close friends, however he does have some and he doesn't mind gatheing a bigger group of them. There are easy ways to please Brandon and a bunch of ways to get on his good side, and once the respect and bond has been made, it will most likely never go away.
The Loner[/u]
Brandon prefers to be alone or with one or two people than with a crowd. He finds the idea of being around too many people very intimidating (even for himself) and extremely frustrating. Too many people talking at once, too many things going on, too many faces and voices. He loves being by himself and if a couple people come to talk to him, that's totally cool with him. However, he is not one to go up to people and say "LIKE OMG HOW IS IT GOING! I'M BRANDON!" No. Definitely not. He will probably never in his life be the first to start the conversation unless he needs to. Sometimes, he will be so set on avoiding conversation that he might even move to a different location if there are too many people near him. It's not that he hates people, he just doesn't like too many of them at a time. It goes hand and hand with his shyness as well, since he is timid. Looking at him, you might not think it, but he is not as outgoing as you would think.
The Mind-Speaker:[/u]
People who know Brandon know that they have to be careful with what they say. Brandon is not afraid to speak his mind and his friends know this. Sometimes it works well for them if they need someone to be brutally honest about something, but other times it can suck when he says something they don't want to hear. He likes having friends and does have many, but he has lost a couple because of this quality. If someone is bothering him or has been warned to stop doing something and they continue, he has no problem throwing punches or blasting them. He feels that people need to respect his space and if they don't, he won't respect them at all. So yes, this does lead to some violence (whether verbally or physically). He tries to stay away from it as much as he can, but if you're bothering him, his fuse isn't long enough to take much of it.
The Sneak[/u]
Brandon is a very sly and sneaky individual. He can find ways to know stuff about you that you may not even know about yourself. He has been known to cure his curiosity by stalking, researching, and spying. He isn't a creeper or anything, but he will follow you around the day if he thinks that you are doing something that he's unsure of. He doesn't get caught (ok well with the exception of one time) and he is super careful to make sure that he can't be traced. He wants to work in dentistry, but people have told him to work in law enforcement since he would be an awesome detective. [/size]

HUMAN[/u]
All you need is one look at Brandon to know what you'll be dealing with if you end up crossing paths with him. He holds his body with confidence and has enough to give almost everyone in the school some. He walks with his body straight and chest out and his facial features are almost stern and serious. Of course, he doesn't mean to look this way, that's just the sort of impression he gives off. He is very intimidating in appearance and usually only brave people step up to the plate and chat with him. He doesn't mind talking at all, but with him being shy and people being nervous, he doesn't have much going for him in the social world.
He stands at about 5'9 and weighs about 150 pounds. His eyes are a green and his hair is a darkened black. There is no certain style that he prefers his hair to be in. Being the lazy bum that he is, he really only wears it in it's natural form. No gels, no hairsprays or anything of that sort. He rolls out of bed, maybe tries to pat it down a bit or move it into a position he likes, and then is off. He thinks that people who use gel everyday or hairspray to get it the perfect way are just plain stupid. Why put in that extra bit of effort if your hair doesn't even look THAT much different anyway. Maybe they were seeing something he wasn't, he didn't know. He does use it for special occasions, but even that is stretching it. He wears contact lenses since he absolutely hates wearing his glasses. He'll wear them if he has too but very VERY rarely will you ever get to see that. His contacts are his life savers.
As far as his physique goes, he is a really fit and buff individual. He doesn't have muscles on muscles that look absolutely disgusting, however he does have visible signs of his hard work at the gym. He likes to be tough and the toughness he feels when he is in his animal form is amazing. He feels sturdy and strong and his tough skin makes him feel like he's wearing armour and can protect himself against anything. He wants to feel that way when he is in his human form (since he is in that form more often than his gator). Therefore, he's been working on getting a routine going to stay buff, tone his muscles, and make sure that he is as protected as he can. Going from a tough, strong, agile, and sturdy alligator to a weak, powerless, and wimpy human is not something he wants to feel.
The way he dresses and presents himself is nothing too unique as he is no different from many of the other boys you will see in the school. He doesn't like to stand out by wearing anything interesting or odd. He wears plain T-shirts and sweaters and shorts/pants depending on the weather. He doesn't have a favourite store or anything like that, so you probably won't be surprised with him walking down in shirts that don't have any brand names on them. It's not uncommon. He doesn't have any piercings and never would he ever get one. The only thing that he was thinking of getting was a tattoo and if he ever got one, it would be of a gator. Obviously, no one back at home who was human would get it, however it would definitely hold a lot of meaning to him given the situation that he was forced into.
ANIMAL[/u]
The appearance between the human and animal form of Brandon is obviously really intense. As a gator, he weights about 400 pounds and is about 13.5 feet long. He is a dark bluish and greeny mixed colour and has extremely tough, leathery, and rough skin. His gator smile is filled with about 75 teeth and he uses them to tear and rip his prey when he attacks. He has only done this a couple of times since it is really awkward and weird for him to do, but his teeth are so fascinating to him because of how different they are from his human ones. The eyes, nostrils, and ears are located on the same plane, allowing all of them to be submerged underwater or peek above the water at the same time. He has webbed feet and another eyelid as well which he had some trouble getting used to. Even though some of his senses are good, his sense of sight is really bad as a gator.[/size]

The Thorne family. Now there's a very interesting bunch of people. Brandon grew up in a normal neighbourhood with a bunch of friendly people who become friends as the years went by. His neighbourhood was a great place to live for him. There were enough people his age to keep him entertained throughout the years. He never had a boring summer or a crappy winter as there would always be something to do and someone to do something with. His sister, Meghan, was three years older however they did many things together. They got along more than the normal brother and sister would and he viewed himself as lucky to have such a cool sister rather than a sister that was a snob, princess, or an annoying kiss up.
Brandon never really had any problems in school. He usually was given a "stupid" stereotype because he was seen as the tough kid however he has nerd qualities in him. He wouldn't sit down and study for long periods of time but he would still be able to do great on tests and exams. He was just that kind of person. Most people in school, however, either loved him or hated him. There was no in between with Brandon. Because he was such a great sneak and he was so good at finding little irks about people, not many enjoyed his company all the time. That mixed in with the fact that he always speaks his mind could make people very uncomfortable as he will flat out say something that everyone is thinking, but won't say.
He has made some very loyal friends however and those friends have stuck by him through thick and thin. Unfortunately, no friend could've helped him through what he experienced when he was 13. Brandon always knew that there was something different about his family. He knew that there was something just not right when his sister had to change schools at the age of 14 to one he had never heard of. He never got an explanation for it and was one of those things he just couldn't figure out. It drove him crazy. However, the answer did come.
He and his family decided to take a vacation to Key West in celebration of Meghan being back from school for spring break and a present for Brandon for turning a teenager. The trip started off great as they cruised through the everglades and walked through the tall grass. All of a sudden however, Brandon fell to the ground in pain. He thought he had twisted his ankle. He described the pain to his parents as "the twisting and moving of the bone." His family knew exactly what was going on. They excused themself from the group (despite what the tour guide had said) and ran to the nearest point of privacy that they could find...an old abandoned shack.
Brandon had no idea what was going on. He had never seen his family act this way before. His sister (who was now 16) was tearing up and holding her palms over her ears as the sound of Brandons screams grew louder. His mom was holding Meghan in her arms and his dad was trying to talk Brandon through this process. Hearing things like "Your bones will change shape and it will hurt but you've got to toughen through it" were not things that sound normal to the average teenager. Brandon didn't even remember hearing that as he was in excruciating pain.
His stomach dropped to the floor and his arms and legs grew shorter. His fingers turned sharp and his body elongated. He was scared out of his mind. When the ordeal was done he had no idea what to think. He was low to the ground and his family looked shocked, confused, and anxious all at the same time. He tried to look at his body but he couldn't see much. All he wanted to do was kill something to subside the pain he just went through. Without even thinking, he lunged towards his dad, his hissing filling his ears. What the hell was going on!?
Brandon woke up later in the same spot that his ordeal happened. His family waiting for his return to reality. He thought this entire thing was a dream. He was sweating and cold. His family decided to take the time and explain to him what had happened. There was no outs. He knew that it had happened and he can't change it. That's who he is. Pieces of the puzzle started fitting together about his weird life. His sister explained she had an experience like this one and had almost killed their mom (as her animal was actually venomous).
The family bond had now gotten stronger. Even though he was told he had to go to a different school, he knew it was better that way. Getting a hold of reality is hard after this, but his family was there for him. He decided to go to the school and has had a great time so far. He's learned to love this "gift" and has no doubt that he will continue to as time goes on.

[/li][li]Athlete:[/u] Gators are not only great swimmers, but they can also run fast AND some species can climb trees. Brandon loves competition and loves getting fierce with other competitors if that's what it takes to win.
[/li][li]Build:[/u]Brandon is also built strong like a gator would be. He likes his appearance and works hard to maintain it's tough quality just as a gator does.
[/li][li]Territorial:[/u] Brandon likes being alone and likes his space. This is the same with gators. He doesn't like to, but after his warning he will get angry if you don't back away.
[/li][li]Wardrobe:[/u]He isn't picky about the way he dresses but he doesn't want to stand out. Quite like how a gator doesn't like to stand out in the crowd either. The less you stand outthe better.
[/li][li]Sneak:[/u] The fact that he is sly and sneaky goes great with the animal shift because a gator is really hard to spot in a river or stream. They blend in really well and sneak up on their prey.
