Major Explanation: the Black Mamba is one of the most cantankerous, ill tempered and deadly serpents in the animal kingdom, this snake will gladly chase down any attacker that comes after it. This snake has the highest fatality percentage of any snake, nearly 100%. As a martial artist Azazel is swift, direct, fluid and almost flawless in his execution of one of the most aggressive, dirty, and sadistic of martial arts, Okinawan Goju Ryu. This martial art was used to kill even the invading Japanese Samurai, while being completely unarmed. Karate itself means Empty Hand. This doesnft mean that Azazel isnft deadly with a range of weapons, his teacherfs teaching him the Sai, Katana, Yima, and Bladed Tonfa in the art called Kobudo.

Azazel has some deep seeded issues with his family; he was only ever really close with his Grandfather, a man who made his fortune by owning one of the biggest Snake Farms used for harvesting snake venom used for making Anti-Venom in the United States. The death of his sister at his shifted fangs took out a piece of him, even if he did well and truly hate her. Azazel isnft one to be sunny and happy, he knows he is angry and dark and he prefers it that way, anyone who thinks otherwise can kiss a cobra.



Azazel loves the Day, his favorite are Summer Mornings in New Mexico on the desert where you can see the sun rise above the clouds unimpeded. One if his favorite things to do were walks in the desert in the early morning and look for animals hiding from the heat. Azazel is rarely what a normal person would consider happy, but when he is by himself at Dawn he feels calm at the least. Azazel never admitted it to himself but he was always so lonely, his mother so busy trying to keep up the house and raise Azazel and Susie that he never really learned to make friends, and his younger sister never showed him any kindness let alone attempt to bond with him. Azazelfs only real friend was his Grandfather Berith.



After Azazel shifted and killed Susie, and his parents didnft know what to do with him. His Grandfather took custody of him. Azazel knows if it werenft for his Grandfather he would probably be in a childrenfs home. For this reason he really only has respect for Berith. Berith was really Azazelfs only Male role model growing up as his father was always over the road Trucking.



Azazel resents his father for never being around to raise him, his father never bothered to try and understand him and for that Azazel wants nothing to do with him. As far as Azazel is concerned he was just some guy who sent his mom money. He often feels sorry for his mom for having to raise two children all by herself and ones who fought nonstop no less. If Azazel could change one thing in his life it would be that he was his Grandfatherfs son not his own father. Azazel is grateful for his Grandfather paying for the best Martial Arts instructors as an outlet for all his rage as a child. His Grandfather paid for his training from age 5 till he left for the Academy. Azazel is even more grateful for being taken in and cared for by his Grandfather after his parents gave up on him.

Azazelfs shaggy, pitch black hair comes down to the nape of his neck, his angry, hazel green eyes always keeping aware of his surroundings, picking up where his poor hearing slacks off. His plain nose and his lips, a bit on the thin side add just a slight blush of color to his face. Standing at 5 foot 9 inches and weighing in at 175 pounds he isnft the biggest person. As Azazel prefers to be warm he wears black no matter the outside temperature, almost immune to the extreme heat. Most often worn is a black spandex like muscle shirt, that shows off his sculpted and slim body underneath a black leather jacket with black fur lining. Loose fitting black denim jeans cover his legs and calf high buckle up boots over black socks complete the outfit.



Azazel wears several gifts from his Grandfather, one of them is a sterling silver snake ring, and the other is a silver Egyptian ankh necklace. On more dressy occasions he wears a gold snake and ankh necklace. For Formal occasions a tweed black jacket with black button up shirt, suspenders covered in skulls with black slacks and black loafers. A black tie keeps the outfit for formal occasions. Azazel wears a black Gi, when he practices Martial Arts, the black starched cotton Uniform making a harsh whip cracking noise when he makes a quick strike or kick, the Japanese Kanji for Snake (ƒwƒr) embroidered over the heart.



Azazel in animal form is the longest venomous snake in Africa; he is also the fastest snake and one of the most feared. Azazel in animal form is Gun Metal Grey with the signature blue/black mouth from which the Black Mamba gets its name. With what is often described as a Coffin shaped head, a bite from the Black Mamba is known as The Kiss of Death, Azazel, in his animal form is a walloping 13 feet, his eyes Pitch Black with a small Silver ring next to the pupil.



As a Black Mamba Azazel can slither at speeds up to 12 miles per hour, the fastest land snake, his venom is a powerful Neurotoxin that shuts down the Nervous system. Being Rear fanged Azazelfs fangs are located in the back of his mouth, this does not stop him from opening his mouth wide enough to get enough flesh in his mouth to pump his deadly Venom into whatever he is after. The intelligence is obvious in his dark eyes and his forked black tongue flicks in and out of his mouth to taste the air, easily tracking prey. He is not a Pit Viper so he lacks the heat sensitive pits those snakes use to track prey through heat; instead he has excellent vision, a single transparent scale covering his eyes leaving him free to not blink, ever.

Azazel was named by his Grandfather on his mother's side, this was, when you boiled down to it, Payment, to old Berith Serpico along with Michael taking Berith's only child's last name instead of the other way around. This payment was due because not only did Barith Serpico pay for Michael's Proposal and Wedding Rings, he also payed for a majority of the Serpico Wedding and the Honeymoon. Michael being a truck driver and not Berith's first choice of a son in law, only his daughter's threat to keep her children from their Grandfather stopped Berith from making Michael pay for the wedding himself.

After Azazel was born all Berith could do was try and be the Father Michael wasn't being. He never raised a hand against his mother or his children but in Azazel's opinion "if he did at least he would be there" Azazel's sister Susie was born just 2 years after Azazel and from birth they hated each other. Azazel realized just how much his father wasn't around very young, all the other boys talking about their dads taking them places, doing things with them and Azazel realised just how much he didn't have that.

Azazel always appreciated all his Grandfather did for him, setting it up so that Azazel inherited the majority of his fortune and his business owning many snake milking operations around the world and selling the milked venom to labs to be turned into Anti-venom. Berith also confided in Azazel a secret only Berith and his mother were suppose to know. When Azazel turned 12 Berith told Azazel that there was a chance he would be a shifter, that Berith himself was a Shifter and a King Cobra, when Azazel's mother found out what Berith told Azazel she was furious.

on Azazel's 13th birthday Berith begged that Vivian to putt Azazel under Berith's observation in case he shifted. seeing that being a shifter would alienate Azazel from his father further, Vivian refused, believing that sense she wasn't a shifter that Azazel wouldn't be one either. meanwhile in another room of the house Susie was once again arguing with Azazel about their father, in Susie's eyes their father could do no wrong, he was a hero for staying away for months at a time working hard to send back money to Vivian and the kids. when the argument got physical instead of Azazel whipping out his Martial arts skills his grandfather payed for he began to shift, as Azazel's arms began to whither away, his body shrinking, and turning a gun Metal Grey the inside of Azazel's screaming mouth turning black, his normally Hazel green eyes shifting to the Pitch Black of the Black Mamba, a small silver ring circling the iris.

Azazel, now shifted to his animal the Black Mamba cornered by his now frantic sister struck out, biting her over 20 times, Susie running down the hallway Azazel in hot pursuit, slithering faster than she could flee, his Black Mamba taking on his hate and rage at his sister over the years and pumping her full of venom. Susie was dead before she got to the Hospital and long before any Black Mamba Anti-venom could be flown in.

Azazel's mother blaming Berith in her grief for the death of her daughter severs all ties to her father, Azazel, not wiling to give up his only male role model decides to live with his Grandfather, his parents gladly signing over custody of the "animal" that killed their daughter. Azazel lived with his grandfather as his guardian, his grandmother having died before his birth in a car crash, Azazel and Berith being each others company in Berith's home in New Mexico, Azazel proud to have the name Serpico. Berith noticing Azazel's Antisocial habits hoped sending him to Shifter Academy would help him associate with others of his kind.

The Black Mamba is one of the most deadly snaked in the world with a near 100% fatality rate. Azazelfs opponents rarely best him in combat. The Black Mamba is also one of the most aggressive snakes, if provoked it will strike multiple times pumping its attacker full of an extremely potent Neurotoxin. Azazel has been known to go a bit over board when in a fight, often beating opponents into submission, no matter the size of the person he faces, he does everything to destroy them. Snakes have no ears instead using their jaw bones to pick up vibrations; Azazel is quite hard of hearing, not being able to hear anything below a whisper unless itfs right in his ear, he does however have an amazing sense of smell and sight.

Azazel and Susie were fighting again, this wasn't the first time but little did either of them know it would be the last, maybe if they knew Susie would have run away sooner. as Susie shoved her older brother his bones gave a blood curdling snap, Azazel's arms just started to whither away, his head elongating, his teeth forming needle sharp points in his Blackening mouth. Susie was so horror struck she couldn't move, couldn't scream. by the time Azazel was finished shifting Susie threw a book at the Black Mamba in front of her, Azazel rushed forward striking with blinding speed, pumping his sister full of his powerful Neurotoxin.

20 bites later Azazel lays blacked under his bed. waking up and realizing no one is home the memories slam into his brain like a freight train, so angry was the snake, he chased Susie down the hallway biting her legs and feet. of course her running only made the venom move through her system faster making death that much quicker. after his sister collapsed in the living room Azazel slithered back to his room curling up under his bed in the dark dusty corner.

after a time of shock he rushed to the phone too call Grandpa, he told him a year ago this might happen, he would know what to do. the phone rang 3 times before Berith picked up, Azazel wasted no time in telling his Grandpa what had transpired. "Grandpa, i don't know how it happened but i changed into a snake, and i killed Susie, i just know it i killed her she couldn't survive that many bites."

"I'm on my way to the house." what his Grandfather's only response. Meanwhile Susie Serpico was being rushed to the hospital, their mother's van couldn't out run the Venom killing her daughter. After reaching the hospital she was pronounced dead. Vivian Serpico was only too happy to sign over her "monster" of a son over to old Berith Serpico.

3 years later and Berith was seriously worried about Azazel's mostly Antisocial habits, he spent most of his time in his room and was down right vicious to anyone but his Grandfather, verbally striking out at anyone who in his eyes "messes up". Berith felt it was time to send Azazel to the Shifter Academy, maybe being with other's of his kind would bring him out of his angry shell and hopefully it would help him deal with his guilt of his sisters death.
