First, let's get the easiest thing about River out of the way... he is a geek, a nerd, whatever you want to call it! He has been playing "Dungeons and Dragons" since he could understand it. His favorite race is definitely the shadow elf, which is followed by the fairy, but that of course depends on what version of DnD you are playing, because River also likes Halflings...they don't get the credit they deserve... Soo, yeah he is really into it.
But DnD isn't the only thing he geeks out about. River also loves super heroes, well, except Superman...Superman is a jerk and over rated -- you know that all it took to destroy him was a stupid monster that ate the sun! Lame, right? Besides DC comics aren't even that good! Marvel has so many better characters and plots, and the only good thing about DC is Batman.
Well, if that didn't convince you that he is a geek, I don't know what would...but other than his obvious geeky-ness, River is very smart. Most geeks are smart, but River got to skip kindergarten all together. He headed right into first grade. River doesn't really like that he is one of the youngest in his grade, but he deals. School isn't the most important thing to him, well, it is up there on the list, but really dancing is the biggest thing for him right now.
Dance is super important to River. Mostly because he believes he can dance his demons out. River is used to getting picked on for being so strange, but dancing always makes him feel so much better. River has been trained in ballet and modern dancing. He did do some street "popping," but he doesn't like to tell people about it. He finds that him being good at it is a little revolting because it's so different than ballet; it really breaks almost all the rules.
Really, River is a very quiet person. He doesn't like to talk about his fears, or what he is good at; he just likes to be there as a friend and joke around. Only a few times does he let on what he's afraid of, like fire, he hates fire. He loves s'mores oddly, it's like the only un-fruity thing he likes, but bonfires scare him. Any fire makes him flee because, well, he had a traumatic experience we will say.
Another thing he hates are gangs, gang violence. He lost his older brother that way in a drive by shooting right in front of his house. He saw what this did to his brother, the life of crime. It changed his brother in ways he hated, but not enough to want him dead, but that's what happened.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By: Jaden Smith
Appearance: [400 words minimum]
River is pretty easy to describe when it comes to appearance. He is kind of short. At thirteen he is only 5'4 and he is only 111 pounds, which really stinks when he dances, because men dancers are supposed to be the manly men who throw the girls around. That doesn't really happen, considering he is shorter than most girls that dance, and lifting them is difficult, not that River doesn't have the muscle to do it, though.
A dancer must have muscle, and River is no exception. His legs are rock hard from jumping and leaping. Grand jetés work his leg muscles like no other. Plus, he doesn't lack upper body strength either. He does push ups and lifts weights for extra strength up there, not that he needs to.
Something River hates is his hair. He likes to keep it back in cornrows. That way it doesn't get in his way when he dances, but, sometimes when he is lazy and doesn't feel like re-braiding his hair, he lets it flop about, then he has a huge fro. He simply can't dance with his hair like that; it gets in his way and is just every where.
The way River dresses is pretty simple. To dance in he wears shorts or sweats with a tank top, simply casual... though he only wears a dance belt when he is in classes, and then thats only for ballet classes. He can't stand that thing!
When River isn't dancing, his style is still pretty laid back: a pair of old holey jeans, with a nice t-shirt or something. He never really dresses up either. He just makes sure he doesn't have stains on his clothes, though he usually strays away from dark colored clothes, and likes to wear orange, and green, and even pink sometimes. He tries to compliment the black color of his hair and the dark chocolate color of his skin with brighter colors, rather than the darker colors.
When River shifts into his leopard...butterfly, he, of course, gets so much smaller. His wingspan is about 4 milimeters wide . But the color of his skin and body are luminescent. He becomes the brightest orange color color that seems to radiate from his small body. On the tip of his wings are a few scattered black spots, but other than that he is all orange. [/size]

Juniper and Ramone were soul mates. They had the same life style and everything, by life style I mean that they were modern day hippies. Juniper was the more eccentric of the two, she played with drugs and was totally into peace through out the world... that is why all the children were all oddly named. The pair decided even before Flame had been conceived to name the children after the elements (Well, Silver was an accident and named after the fifth Oriental element metal.)
Juniper and Ramone were also both shifters, and knew all about what was to happen to their kids. Though with the talk of Juniper getting pregnant scared Ramone a bit. He didn't want her on the drugs while with child, so he told her and she knew better also. She was happy to give them up for her children, and thus Flame was born.
One of Juniper's visions was to have the most creative family ever, so once Flame was born, he was given drawing utensils, and took to it wonderfully; he could draw like a professional by the time he was seen. So when Earth was born two years after Flame, Juniper was ready for a writer, giving him books and games that dealt with writing. This eventually got him to play "Dungeons and Dragons," and he was even more geeky than River became. When Windy was born, Ramone took her to become a singer. She took to that, and turned out to be the best at what she was told to do, though she was a bit of a fame seeker.
Then came River. Both Ramone and Juniper hoped for another girl. They weren't disappointed though when they had River. They originally put him in gymnastic classes but the teacher said he was more of a dancer. His parents didn't want him to do anything but ballet, wanting him to become some hip hopper and found ballet inviting. Juniper enrolled him in the best ballet school possible; he trained in every method and pleaded with his parents once he turned seven to try different styles, and ended up loving modern, too. (They said no crumping, popping, or hip hop.)
Of course, we can't forget about Silver. She was sort of a surprise to the couple. It took forever to name her, and she was stuck acting, though Juniper didn't approve, but she dealt with it, Ramone was in charge of the girls, after all.
Juniper did have a slight secret: once River was born she figured she was done with kids, and had started sneaking drugs back. Of course, once she knew she was pregnant with Silver she quit. But the things just kept calling her back, and when River really got into dance, and Flame was getting close to thirteen, Juniper started stressing.
Ramone was so involved in Windy and Silver, he was missing the signs until he came home for River's birthday. The day had been a stressful one, and when Juniper went to "relax," Ramone found her lying in their bed, needle in arm.
Everyone was devastated; Ramone stopped doing everything with the kids. Luckily, River had money built up at his dance studio and only the girls had to stop what they were doing, though all the children found ways to continue until Ramone found Carrie. Carrie was okay, but she was nothing like Juniper.
Carrie was mean, and had all these things that she made Ramone do. She was like the step-mother in Cinderella. She was just a mean person, but the worst was when they moved to Detroit. All the children's lives went down the drain there. By now Flame had shifted, but only Ramone and Carrie knew about that, for they kept it a secret to the others.
Soon after Flame shifted, something terrible happened to the Stone family once again. Ramone was working on the wooden stove he was building, he liked old things like that. He had started a fire in the stove when a ember jumped out into his hair. Ramone's hair went up in flames, then the rest of him went as well; he died from all the burn damages.
Carrie instantly packed up the kids, and went to where she had grown up, and she didn't know how to deal with the five children on her own. The thing is, she had grown up in a place highly populated with gang activity, and instantly Flame was swept up in the gangs, unable to say no to all the pressure.
River was still young, but roamed the streets when he was no longer allowed to take dance lessons, but it was there that River found that his hip hopping skills were almost as good as his ballet skills; he had found the break dancers and hip hoppers out on the streets he roamed so often.
One day while River was out and about on the streets, Flame was walking with him for once. They were walking along, and it was close to River's thirteenth birthday, when all of a sudden, "BOOM!" Bullets came flying towards the two of them. Some very naughty words flew from both of the boys' mouths. Flame pushed River to the ground, and the next thing River knew was that he was hurting. He was freaking out because he figured he had been shot. The pain was so bad though as his bones felt as though they were disappearing, and his body was shrinking. Then he felt so small and weightless -- it was so weird. He flipped, and he tried to run and move his arms, but instead he was flying. The gunshots were gone, but Flame was...he was on the ground, too. Even in the new little body River was in, he could see the blood flowing from his brother's body. River didn't know what to do -- he was so small! -- something had happened to him, that was what he felt, but he knew his brother was shot.
Carrie didn't even let River stay for Flame's funeral before he was shipped off to this new school. Yes, he was a little sad, but he understood he turned into a freaking butterfly, and that he needed to be shipped away.
...connecting human to animal
[One Paragraph Minimum (Can be point form)]
River turns into a butterfly for many reasons. When he was younger, he practiced in ballet and he was good. He is graceful ,and when he leaps, he almost flies -- just like a butterfly. He flitters from place to place, and he is also very social and curiou, and loves flowers and people. He is not a fighter, and he doesn't like to fight or argue, like a butterfly flying away from their troubles. He also likes fruit, just like butterflies do.
