Overall:
Lindy is a confident young teenager who loves the ocean. That's basically her entire personality, but there's so much more to her than that.
She's extremely social, and can make friends with just about anybody. She's naive in that sense, though, because she's very trusting and doesn't judge the people she talks to. But with her sociable nature comes the carefree side of her personality. She could go an entire day just lounging in the water, and then she'd have to spend the next day catching up with what she missed.
Lindy loves fashion, that much anybody can tell, and she's self-centered. She focuses too much on herself sometimes, leaving the ones she loves in the dust.
She'll always love those close to her though, as long as they aren't shy. Because Lindy's not shy, she doesn't like people that are. She's very fun loving and creative, and expects, or at least wants, everyone to be the same way, as long as she gets to stand out.
One thing that makes her stand out is her swimming ability. She's a very strong swimmer, and hates to get out of the water. She loves everything water related, swimming, seashells, the ocean, seafood, all of it! It's extremely hard to make her budge on anything that deals with water.
But besides the ocean, there's a lot of other things that Lindy loves. She loves to read, loves iced coffee, even though it makes her hyper, and drawing. She's really good at drawing as well as swimming.
But with those likes comes dislikes, and Lindy has a lot of them. Because she loves the water, she hates hearing about oil spills that effect her fellow sea creatures. Lindy's never liked popcorn or crowds, and is claustrophobic. She's scared of global warming and whales, thinks solitaire is a game for the lonely and doesn't like fire.
Other than all that, if you get close to Lindy, you'll find yourself face to face with a girl who just wants to have fun, as long as she gets to go to the ocean. But if you dig deeper, you'll find that girl who also loves to mess with her hair, watches commercials for the propaganda, and wants to get into fashion, just not on the side people expect. People learn to love her naivety, and she can be peppy and annoying, but just know that she's very playful, and social, and loving.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By: Keke Palmer
Appearance:
The most obvious thing about Lindy's looks is that she's African American. Her dark hair is almost pitch black, coming down to the middle of her chest even when it's curly, and although her skin isn't the same, it can be described as the color of milk chocolate. Her eyebrows, the same color as her hair, frame her deep brown eyes nicely.
Lindy is around average size for her age, topping at a height of five feet and six inches, she is still considered small at a weight of one hundred and thirty pounds, ten pounds under her recommended weight.
She usually holds herself with confidence, back straight and a smile upon her face. Her clothes say the same thing, fun and confident. She prides herself that most of her clothes she either made herself or got for a good deal. Her style is casual, but it isn't teenager casual, it's more of a classy casual. Whenever she gets the chance, she'll wear a dress, and have her hair up, styled for at least an hour.
Her hair is naturally curly, and Lindy loves to mess with it. She'll occasionally straighten it, but that's very rare. It's very thick, and the ringlets themselves are surprisingly heavy even if she doesn't use hairspray.
Lindy as an otter is actually quite adorable. She's about four feet long, weighing around forty pounds. She appears much bigger on land, thanks to her fluffy fur, than in the water, where she appears to be smaller thanks to the wet fur.
Her coloration is a dark brown, though she looks lighter on her head because of her sensitive whiskers, used for finding prey by touch, that frame her black nose. Because she isn't an adult otter, her throat and chest aren't the same light color of her face. Her eyes remain the same when she shifts, the same deep brown. She has about thirty two teeth, and they're flattened and rounded, designed to crush rather than cut food, like all otter teeth.
Like all sea otters, her ears and nostrils can close. Her feet are long, broadly flattened, and fully webbed, great for swimming. On each of her back feet, the fifth digit is the longest. Her tail is kind of short, and is thick, slightly flattened, and muscular. Her front paws are short with retractable claws, that have tough pads on the palms that help the species grab prey.
...history
Parents: Jeremy Pearson* (currently age 32) and Brianna Holland* (deceased at age 18)
Siblings: Only child
Grandmother: Rose Anne Holland (currently age 70)
*Shifting gene
Jeremy and Brianna fell in love in high school...well, lust, anyway. Brianna became pregnant, and they made plans to be married. Those plans never happened though. She died in childbirth, leaving their daughter Lindy to Jeremy.
He dropped out of high school to take care of her. He continued his education at night school, and earned his diploma at the age of twenty.
Lindy was his pride and joy, a carbon copy of her mom, and she was his little princess. He worked at the local grocery store while she was at school, and their financial situation was tough. Lindy always loved fashion, and her father supported that, even on their budget. They lived in the Pacific Northwest, and they both loved the weather.
Other than that, she had a pretty normal childhood, but when she was seven, her grandmother got involved into her life.
Her grandmother had never liked Jeremy, he had gotten her daughter pregnant after all, causing her death. But Lindy didn't think she had a problem with him raising her. Boy, was she wrong.
Rose Holland hated Jeremy, and she hated that Lindy was being raised by him. So on Lindy's seventh birthday, she reported that Jeremy was beating her granddaughter.
It wasn't true though, Jeremy and Lindy knew it, but Rose didn't care about that. She wanted Lindy out of that house, and so she lied in court. Jeremy had always been smart though, and wanted to be a lawyer if Lindy hadn't come around, and so he convinced the jury and judge that he was innocent, and got his daughter back from Child Services. Rose was arrested, to everybody's delight, and now Jeremy didn't have to worry about his daughter shifting in the home of someone who was merely human.
Jeremy never wanted that to happen again, and he wanted a better life for his only child, so he quit his job at the grocery and became a police officer. Lindy loved telling people what her daddy did for a living, and never hesitated to tell anybody. She loved her dad, and loved feeling close to him.
When Lindy was thirteen, she became closer to him than ever. It was a sunny summer day, and Jeremy had just filled the blow up pool for her, and she was lounging in it, for it was too small to do anything more than that, and then she felt the oddest sensation. She cringed, and then looked down to see her furry legs. She screamed as her bones popped and changed, a tail growing, her face changing, her hair becoming fur all over her body. Jeremy had rushed over to see what was wrong, but only saw an otter swimming around.
He had sighed in relief that his daughter wasn't hurt, and once she shifted back, he told her of Shifter Academy, and she agreed to go, hugging her dad and telling him that she loved him and would miss him.
...connecting human to animal
One of the main reasons that Lindy is an otter shift is her love of the water, ocean water specifically, which is why she's a sea otter. Her dark skin and dark hair automatically match her dark fur. Her thick hair matches the fact that sea otters have about 26,000 to 165,000 strands of hair per square centimeter of skin. Lindy has always loved sea food, which is what her animal mainly eats. She lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of her life, which is where sea otters primarily live. Lindy also has a very carefree and playful nature, just like otters.
