Overall: Melanie is in most ways the anti-Leo, but doesn’t realize how much she actually has in common with him. She is shy, and usually calm and quiet, with a good sense of focus. If there is a job, she is going to get it right and she will keep trying until it gets done the way she wants it, even if that means having to do it herself. She doesn’t give up easily, her motto being try, try again.
She is, however, easily flustered. Preferring to spend most of her time alone, or with one other person, she doesn’t have a whole lot of social skills, and most jokes tend to go over her head. If she likes someone, and they actually talk to her, she blushes, and stumbles across her words, not really knowing what to say.
She has a very over romanticized view of love, due to her parents. She feels that true love can outlast even the tests of time, but finding that love is nearly impossible. More than anything, she wants to find someone to love her like that. Someone who will support her through thick and thin.Because of that, she is very prone to crushes, but part of that is teen-girl hormones.
She was mostly raised by her mother, until she was about ten. Because of this she has a high standard of women. She was also raised with a deep sense of obedience, you didn’t listen and you got punished. Ask too many questions, and the same thing will happen. This does not mean that she is not curious, it just means that she chooses her questions wisely, to get as much information as possible from the question. Though she usually just tends to obey simple commands.
Melanie is completely oblivious most of the time, but when she actually takes a moment to think about things, she can put two and two together, relatively quick.
She is also quick to apologize, even if it doesn’t require an apology, if she feels she has done something wrong, she is going to do her best to make up for it. Along with that, she doesn’t like people going out of their way to do things for her, which makes her come off as slightly indecisive. She knows what she wants, but doesn’t want to inconvenience anyone with them.
Most peole write off her behaviors as being, ‘Typically blonde’, which irks her to no end, and is one of the few things that will actually make her angry.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By:Dakota Fanning
Appearance: To describe Melanie in three words would be, tiny, blonde, and innocent. She stands at a measly five foot three and a half, and most of that is legs. Due to her small size, she only weighs about one hundred and two pounds, and her diet of mostly rice, seeds, and fruit doesn’t help a whole lot. She has decided that she is a vegetarian, though most of that is due to her shift being a bird, and she actually gets violently sick if she eats meat.
She has long blonde hair, that falls to just below her shoulders, that she got from her mother. She also has deep blue eyes, not quite to the degree that Leolyn does, but defiantly a Starr trait. To help bring them out she uses only a bit of eyeliner, and not a whole lot of other make up. She has fair skin, but enough of a tan to prove that she is outside for long periods of the day.
Melanie has a smile, that makes you think innocence. It’s still got that hint of a little kids smile, even though she is sixteen. It melts your heart, just by looking at her, that is if you can actually get her to smile, and not just blush and look away.
As far as jewelry goes, she can usually be seen wearing a gold necklace with a gold piece sign on it. Along with her necklace, she wears a diamond stud in each of her earlobes. If she is feeling particularly snazzy, then she will wear a couple of black bands around her wrists, mostly to represent her shift. She also has a gold charm bracelet with little silver birds on it, given to her by her mother.
Her shift is that of a ring-necked dove, approximately 7 inches in size weighing in at five and a half ounces. Her eyes are a deep dark brown, almost black in color. The color of her head, belly, and under-tail are a pale brownish-grey color. Her back and wings are a darker brown, the same color as her hair in her non shifted form. She has a black band, with a white outline, around the back of her neck. Her tail feathers are slightly longer then most other dove species, and the tips of them have white spots. Due to her shift, she can see a greater range of colors and improves her eyesight.
...history
Parents:William and Trinity Starr
Siblings:Half-brother Leolyn
Melanie Elizabeth was born on April fifteenth 1994. She was the love child of William Starr and his secret love affair, Trinity Jones. Trinity was an old fashioned house wife, and music teacher. She believed that the affair was wrong, but couldn’t help herself from falling in love with him. The only real issue was that he was married, with a year old son. He promised that some day he’d break it off with his wife. He bounced back and forth, usually using the hospital as an excuse to see her instead of his wife and kid, a year and then Melanie was born.
Melanie, his angel, his excuse to break it off with Jamie, if he just used it right, confessed his affair. Didn’t happen. He didn’t leave Jamie for nine years. Still Trinity waited raising their daughter.
The girl was a hassle for the first few years, as most kids are, but she learned to walk quickly, talk, though she was far too questioning, and for that she got punished. Usually just being shouted at and sent to the corner for ten minutes, but if she didn’t learn her lesson after that? Well, mouth washed out with soap and then house work.
The girl did learn, shying away from the yelling, and soon there were no more issues. The routine was set, wake up in the morning, Breakfast, do school work, practice singing, lunch, clean the house, music class, dinner, get ready for bed. Occasionally there would be parties, and when daddy came home, she was aloud to stay up an extra hour or so.
As she got older, things began to change slightly. She was expected to do more chores, and cook at least one meal a day, to begin learning how to be a proper house wife. Proper house wives didn’t question their husbands, they cleaned the house, made food on time, and made sure everything was perfect.
So she learned that. She wanted to have someone like Daddy, unknowing what he was doing was wrong. She wanted someone who loved her and cared for her, like he did Mommy. Even though he was very busy at his job, he still made time for them, taking them for ice cream occasionally.
That remained that way until she was ten. That is when Daddy moved in. He was around more and she did her best to impress him. She kept her part of the house clean, made breakfast for him and then he betrayed her.
She was no longer allowed to stay home with him, she had to go to real school, with people.
The first day was the worst day of her life, she was put in her nice pants and dress shoes, white shirt, given a back pack and put on the bus.
She learned a great deal of many things, but the children made fun of her, no one would play with her, and so she closed herself off. She decided that children were mean and that she would much rather read then play with them, for she was better and could handle being alone. She didn’t need them, because Daddy was at home and he would make everything better.
On her thirteenth birthday, Daddy had a surprise, but she could not leave her room. If she did, then she would be punished severely. Daddy didn’t punish her, so she knew it was serious. He came in and locked her window, warning her once more, before leaving her alone in the room.
She played with her toys, read some, and decided that she would take a nap. She promptly fell asleep. When she awoke, everything was different. Colors were brighter, more shades, things were larger, and she could fly. She tried knocking on the door, completely confused, shouting, but all that came out was a cooing sound, which was when she saw the mirror.
She bobbed over to it, looking at it, tipping her head in question. Then she put the two together. She was a bird...She was a bird! This must have been the most exciting birthday present ever! She got to fly and see things in a totally different way. This must have been the surprise Daddy was talking about.
So she spent the rest of the day as a ring-necked dove, eventually she got tired, and fell asleep on the floor, only to be roused by her mother. Things were slightly different from then on, she had new rules. She was not ever ever ever allowed to change in public. She was only allowed to change with their permission, and she was never allowed to go outside when changed.
Three years went by, and they decided that she was ready to go to a special school, for people just like her, people could change into animals. She didn’t want to go, and leave mommy and daddy, but they made a few calls and she was now on her way to the school.

"Mmmmghmpth."
The words from the male were completely mumbled from his face in the pillow. Deep blue eyes looked up from the pillow and around the darkened room. There was a bit of cloudy weather coming in from the window on the other side of the room, which would explain why Tony was still passed out asleep on the other bed. Remi was not in sight.
Which meant that if he was hungry, he was going to have to go out into the storm.
"Bloody Hell. Alright I'm up."
He said mostly to himself as he pushed himself up onto his knees, and out from under his blankets. He ran a hand through his lightly mussed hair, straightening it only slightly, before scratching his nails across his bare chest.
It took him another moment or so of stretching before he got up and out of the bed, shivering lightly at the temperature of the room.
He stalked over to his dresser, pulling out a plain black t-shirt, and a dark blue sweater. He slid them on his body, being as quiet as possible to not disrupt Tony's sleeping. He pulled on a pair of jeans, knowing later that he was going to regret the action, but there was no way he was going to stalk over to the cafeteria in sweat pants.
He grabbed up his leather jacket, made sure he had his wallet, before taking a pen and putting a post it note on the back of the door. 'Dear Tony, went to the cafeteria, don't panic if I'm not back when you wake up. Text me if you need me, Leo'
He slid on his jacket, walked out the door and locked it before heading down the hallway, half wincing and ducking at the sound of thunder outside the door.
He had been out there before. He knew how loud it was outside. knew that he could just book it straight across the lawn and get to the cafeteria. He knew all of this, but that didn't keep him from being absolutely terrified of what laid right outside the door.
He took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm himself, and hoped that no one noticed him staring out the door like the fraidy cat that he was.
There was a flash of lightning and he tensed, counting in his head, listening to the thunder, he was expecting it, but he still ducked. The dark haired boy took one last longing glance towards his nice safe dorm room before he pushed open the door and stepped outside.
Once more he was surprised at how much noise there was. How much a simple pane of glass cut down on the noise of the wind, rain, and thunder. And Once again he wished that this stupid bloody storm was over, because he was literally going to go crazy if it didn't.
He took in his surroundings, for a moment, shielded partly by the overhang of the roof. He locked onto his target and booked it as fast as he could. It only took him a few minutes to run all the way across to the doors of the Cafeteria, but even that left him dripping wet, and panting.
He pushed open the cafeteria doors, and stepped inside, trying to look as calm and collected as he could, though he probably failed to impress anyone. He glanced around once, found an empty seat as far away from the windows as possible, and took off his jacket and sweater, relieved that the shirt he was wearing was only partly damp. He set his things on a seat, claiming that as his spot, before he pushed a hand through his hair, shaking some of the water out, and styling it slightly, even though it was still dripping water all over the place.
What in the world was he going to eat? Hell what was he going to do after he ate? A trip in the rain was enough, more than that was suicide.
