It was amazing how such a short distance could seem so immesurably long. It was only a few meters to the door of room two-nineteen, but it might as well have been kilometers for the young woman in the military school uniform. Ever since she had arrived, people had mistaken her for a young man, and few had dared to speak to her. There was something in the way she carried herself that spoke of a predator, and not the typical sort that one would expect to find at this school. She was one of those as well, but she was also more than that. She was more than just a jackal, even if she'd overheard other cadets back at the Detroit Military Academy call her that as a nickname. Granted, the ones that called her that didn't call her that because they knew about what she was, and it certainly wasn't a compiment. It was completely derogatory, based on her half Saudi blood. Sometimes she was called a Nazi because of her German blood. Hell, sometimes they called her a "Nazi Jackal". The first half of that she wasn't. She despised the NSDAP. Was she a jackal though?
Yes.
It was that nickname that her own "troops", or the cadets under her command, that is, had called her by as well. They wore it as something akin to a badge of honor to be under her command. Few of the cadets understood why they liked that fact so much, until drill, rifle, tactical, and survival competitions came around each year. Her battalion took top scores in all four of those areas the year that had been her last at DMA. The company she had commanded before that had done the same at company level competitions, as had her platoon before that for its level, and her squad before that. She herself had taken individual competition before she was a squad leader. The medals for the achievements were still pinned to her uniform, as were various other medals, ribbons, and insignia. She wore the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel on her shoulderboards, and a crossed rifles insignia on her collar to show that she herself was a marksman.
As she had walked here, all the while people had stared at her. She doubted any of them had ever seen someone in a military uniform before outside someone that was in the military on television. Of course, that might not have been the only reason they stared at her. The only thing more striking than the uniform were three of the facts about it: it was dark - black and dark grey; a black trenchcoat was part of it, and the officer's cap was black and grey as well; it made her look like an old German officer from the war. The glasses she wore, though she didn't actually need them, looked rather sharp, and were shaped in just that particular way to make her look fierce, and the lenses were slightly thicker - not glass, but an impact and scratch resistant plastic polymer, made to be used in the helmets of soldiers to stop low-caliber, low-velocity, bullets. At her left hip, a scimitar was sheated. For a long time she had worn a rapier in that spot, but since her shift she wore the scimitar, as it had been her father that presented it to her - as it was a material representation of their family. It was both decorative and deadly if the intention to use it in such a way was possessed by the wielder of the well-crafted blade. Though, of course, it wasn't. What was possessed was a license to carry it, as she was to become the captain of the swordmanship team - and the captain was the only one that had permission to carry one of the real weapons.
In her right hand, down at her side, she held the straps of an old army duffle bag - unlike her uniform though, this was green, and the reason for that was simple. The rest of DMA wore US Military style uniforms. Because of her background and her oustanding abilities, Kilian was given the option of wearing a uniform from one of her two heritages. Of course, the Commandant of DMA had expected a modern uniform to be chosen, and had thus not put an era restriction on it. The day that she had walked in to the Commandant's officer wearing the uniform she wore now, which rather closely resembled a uniform that SS officers, or more often (though less in the forefront of the average person's mind) Panzer commanders, wore, she nearly blew a gasket - until she saw the armband that Kilian wore.
If it were like the old uniforms, it would have been a red armband with a white circle and the symbol of the Third Reich, but it wasn't. The armband she wore was grey, had a blue circle, and a white star in the center to denote that it was an Allied symbol. The Commandant had grinned and sent her on her way, approving of the uniform she wore, and waiting for complaints and such to roll in. The woman that ran the school, for whatever reason, rather liked getting complaints that she could easily push to the side by telling people they were wrong and explaining why that was so exactly.
As Kilian walked through the halls, she kept her head tilted down just slightly, so that the officers' cap's brim just barely covered her eyes from view by others, unless they were shorter than her. If that was the case, the shadow that the brim cast gave her a rather sinister look. Not only that, but the way her hair was done up made her look like rather male instead of female, and she got a lot of strange looks from the girls in the halls of the dorms. A tiny smirk formed on her lips as she thought about what they might be thinking. She was sure most of them thought that she was a boy, and she even heard one or two whisper that "he" was cute. Though they had to be curious as to why a boy was in their dorm and hadn't yet been made to leave by someone. When one girl looked at her, she raised her head just slightly, so the brim of the cap came up, and she could take in the full sight of her. She didn't even bother trying to hide the fact that she was looking her over, and rather than say something, the girl blushed. Kilian just grinned, gave a wink, and continued on her way, bowing her head slightly once again - uttering the words "later babe" in a deeper tone than her normal voice as she went; it was well practiced, and couldn't be told apart from a male's voice.
The girl just stood there, watching her walk away, maybe even swooning over the androgynos "boy" as he walked away.
Once she got to room two-nineteen, she took the key they'd given her for the room from her pocket. Testing the door, she found it locked, and she let herself inside; heading for whichever space was obviously not being used by someone else yet and setting her bag on the bed.
"Well, what a merry little adventure this is going to be." She spoke, though it was still in the deeper voice.

She had been trying to nap when she heard the door open, she rubbed her eyes and glanced up thinking it was Serenity coming back from where ever, instead it turned out to be some new girl with a sword and some kind of odd military uniform. In fact it looked sorta like a nazi uniform. She groaned as she started to wake up. "Could you be a little quieter at least? Some of us are trying to nap." She said a little snapishly. She was not at her best when first waking up, and well the girls uniform gave her the wrong idea. "So what the hell are you supposed to be? This isn't the army it's a highschool." She said noting that everything she was wearing was in perfect condition and looked to be of high quality. Was everyone else at this school bloody rich? She thought to herself.
She almost wanted to snarl at the other woman. She really hated being woken up, but she thought better about it. "I'm Zuri and a hyena our other roommate who isn't back from whatever she's doing is a horse, her names Serenity."
She said gruffly but at least trying to sound somewhat social as she studdied the other woman. She did have to admit that the blond was rather cute, seemed a bit full of herself but cute. She rubbed her head as she finished waking up.
She was mostly naked except for a pair of pajama pants as she sat up in her bed and streched out with a sigh. She looked over at her clock. She sighed she didnt really feel like doing much today since classes had not started yet but there were some things she needed to do, figuring out her new roommate being the first of them.
"Where the heck are you from anyway?" She asked the other girl still staring at the rather strange uniform. She shook her head as she lithley jumped out of the bed. She then rooted through her thing finding a shirt that wasnt too shabby looking. As she put it on she watched the other girl study the room. "Whats your major? I'm hotel managment." She said trying to get a feel for what the girl was like, hopefully she wasnt as psycho as the uniform and sword looked. Then again all she really had to do was put up with the girl in the room.

"Ever heard of military school?" She raised a brow, not quite looking at the owner of the voice. She'd been wondering just how long it would be before she ran into someone that had that sort of attitude. Whether it was because they didn't like the military, or because of the specific style of uniform she wore, she didn't care really. The armband she wore denoted that it wasn't a Reich uniform, or the symbol would have been different. Though, she supposed that most people probably wouldn't know enough to actually realize that little fact.
When the facts of names and their shifts were given, she answered with a three simple words. "Kilian. Golden Jackal." And went on about taking her things out of her bag. The truth was that she had very little with her for being as wealthy as she was; only a few changes of clothes, a pair of shoes, and the few little things that were needed for proper hygiene. No gold, no jewels, and no jewelry of any sort. Taking the scabbard off the belt she wore, she set it on the bed next to her bag, and started putting her clothes away.
It wasn't until she got out of the bed that Kilian looked to the other girl and noted her state of dress with a little smirk. She honestly couldn't help but let her eyes roam a bit as she watched her put the shirt on. Thinking back to the first question, she continued putting her things away. "Depends on what you mean. I was born in Saudi Arabia; my father's Saudi." Then she gave her a look, "And if ya don't like it, ya can jump off a bridge." Then back to what she was doing.
"Lived in Germany for a long time; that's where mom's from. Again, you know what to do if ya don't like it." Once she was done putting her clothes away, she put the other little things in the inn table next to the bed before sliding her trenchcoat off and sitting on the bed. "Right before coming here, I was living in Detroit, going to military school. By choice." Didn't feel like giving herself a bad reputation just yet. "My current major is Environmental Engineering."
Then she stretched a bit and let out a light yawn. "So, where are you from?"

"Got nothing against Germans or Saudi's, my foster family, well former family." She said managing to hide almost all the traces of bitterness in her voice as she went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. She really hated having bad breath and it seemed like every time she slept her breath got very very bad. She had noticed the woman looking at her body and smirked a little in the mirror. "What I was saying is that my former foster parents have hotels in a lot of places, and not just here in the states, before I shifted the first time my foster dad was talking to some guys from Dubai."
She said this last with a slight shrug. In all due honesty she couldn't have cared less about the girls family and such. "Still if you dont want reactions from people don't wear that uniform. I'm pretty sure even people in Germany wouldn't really wear that." She said with a slight snort. Then again she had only recognized it from watching movies. She swallowed a lump in her throat and pushed down the emotions that came on her. Kristen had had a big thing for old John Wayne movies. She had probably seen every single old WWII movie there was with her former friend.
She shook her head to clear it. "Wow and I thought I had packed light." She said looking over what Killian had brought. She couldn't believe that someone with money would be willing to travel with practically nothing. But then again if she had been in military school she probably didn't care that much, and it was easy not to care much about money when you had plenty of it.
She glanced again at the sword. "So you actually know how to use that thing or is it just for show?" She asked more out of curiousity than anything else. She really had no idea what to make of her new roommate. She could tell that the girl was probably a tomboy as she didnt really see any skirts in the clothes she had brought, or jewelry. "And do you always wear your uniform, cause I imagine thats going to get rather uncomfortable rather quickly since we are on a tropical island." She said with a slight teasing smile, just trying to gauge the other girls reaction.

"Sounds like a nice business to be associated with." When you have hotels all over the planet, there was nowhere you couldn't go. Of course, Kilian knew that sort of ability well. Qatar Industries, her father's company, had things all over the globe. Not hotels, but that didn't mean it was hard to find somewhere to stay. She smirked a little when she said if she didn't want reactions, not to wear the uniform. "Well, you see, that's just the thing, darling." She grinned, "I happen to like getting reactions out of people. The ones that react are the ones worth talking to."
"I could walk around like Paris fucking Hilton if I wanted to - but I hate that bitch. I mean gods... I can understand ditzy. I'm blonde. I get that. But that dumb broad takes "ditzy" to a whole new level." She shook her head a little, taking off the officer's cap and laying it on the bed. Then she messed with her hair a bit, letting it down and sighing in relief. The truth was that while she liked keeping her hair up, because it let her look more official, letting it down always felt nice - especially with how long it was.
She grinned when she asked about the sword. "Let's just say the blade isn't dull." In other words: hell yes I know how to use it. When the mention came of living on a tropical island, Kilian let out a light laugh. "I wear it a lot, but I'll probably end up in civvies at some point. No sense in bringing other clothes if I'm not going to wear them, right?" She said, unbuttoning the top she wore down to her bra and letting out a sigh. "Sometimes I feel like I'm wearing a damn corset." She said softly, shaking her head a little.
Smiling, she looked to the other girl again. "So, why aren't you out there in the sand and sun showing off that body of yours?"

She blinked a bit was the other girl flirting with her? She couldnt tell, but she did smile a bit. "Well we just had a hurricane come through here, and I'm not a morning person, like real hyena's I prefer being awake at night to being awake in the morning. She smiled a bit as she took in the girls apperance. "You know you should probably get out of that uniform sooner rather than later, let your hair down and show off your own body." She said with a rather playful smile on her face. "And yeah Paris Hilton gives all blonds a bad name, however you would look better than she does in her outfits just because she's a dumb bimbo doesnt mean she doesnt know how to dress to impress, even a broken clock is right at least once."
She said all this with just a hint of a smile on her face. She enjoyed flirting and teasing people sometimes just to see if she could, that was how things had started with her and Cub, but she wasn't sure where that was going. Hell she didnt know anything about how this island worked or why she felt like she wanted to trust the people she had met here. She was confused by her reactions. Part of her still feltl like she couldn't trust anyone, but part of her wanted really really badly to trust these people. She'd have to figure it out later.
Her eyes continued to glance over the blond, a jackal shifter with military training would be hard to fight if it came down to it, she hoped it wouldn't, on the other hand having someone like that for a friend would be a very good thing. She considered her options carefully before speaking more. "Still if you want to go to the beach I'd be happy to go with, though I don't really see a bathing suit in your stuff." She said with another little smirk. It was entirley possible that the woman's suit was under something else. "So yeah how about I get on my suit and we try to turn some peoples heads? I know this kid cub who is really fun to make blush, but don't be too hard on the poor kid don't need him becoming completley nervous.
She didnt say that she felt rather propriatary towards Cub but she didnt have to her eyes and posture said it all.

Kilian smirked a bit when her lack of a suit was brought up, and she continued unbuttoning her top. Once it was unbuttoned, she slid it off, followed by her boots, socks, and pants. There she sat, in nothing more than her bra and panties, and she smirked. "Let me ask you something, my dear Zuri - what is a bikini, other than a bra held together with strings and a pair of panties?" She grinned, "Who needs a bathing suit?" Yes, she was seriously saying she was going to go to the beach in a bra and panties. If that didn't turn heads, what would?
"And yknow, the beach would be absolutely lovely." She smiled, and grabbed the towel from her bag, "So yes, get your suit dear, and let's go." She smirked then and added, "But just so you know, I might not be able to stop myself from watching you change." She winked. Ah yes, she was definately attracted to this other girl. At the mention of the kid though, she giggled.
"Awww...." she began, "He sounds cute. I'm glad there's at least one blushy boy left on earth."

She licked her lips oh yeah Killian looked hot in that outfit. Not that she could call Killians bra and panties an outfit. "Well that's going to get uncomfortable once it gets wet, and the material might be ruined." She said as she shucked her pants and took off her shirt again. She rummaged through her drawers and found her bathing suit. It was a red bikini that covered even less than Killians bra did. The bathing suit was a very skimpy and red that barley covered her nipples. She turned rather coyly to Killian, well like what you see?" She said in the same teasing tone she had used earlier.
She again glanced over Killian's body. "Damm girl its almost a crying shame to hide that body with a military uniform." She almost licked her lips. She could tell that the jackal would be fun to have around, but she do her best to keep the girl at a slight distance at least for now. While she did want to like the jackal she also didnt know how far she could trust her.
"Yeah Cub is really cute but he gets nervous easily so dont tease him too bad leave most of that to me." She said it with a slight giggle she wasn't going to say outloud that she was really interested in Cub and for Killian to stay away, but she kinda was. At least he was someone she was fairly relaxed around. Even though she was teasing Killian and enjoying being there with her she still was somewhat guarded and judging every reaction that Killian made. She could tell Killian took her military training seriously and there was definitley a predator within the young girl.
Not that she could complain about that she herself was a predator. "Oh make one comment about scavangers and well your hyena food." She said grinning and showing her teeth. She was joking but not completley. She had heard enough comments about being a monster or a filthy animal from her foster parents and former friends to last a life time. She wasnt about to take shit from anyone here at the school.
"Oh do you come from a family of shifters if so what the heck do you know about what we are and how it works or started?" She said as she grabbed a towel that was a bit thread bare but still functional.

Kilian grinned, taking in the sight as she was asked if she liked what she saw. Her eyes trailed along over the young african girl's body and a smirk formed. "Oh, you know I do. Makes me think of doing things that would keep us in instead of going down to that beach." She winked, but it wasn't simple flirting. It was also the truth. Her mind was going places that it probably shouldn't have been, but the hell with it. She didn't care. It was nice to entertain those ideas sometimes, rather than bottle them up.
"Maybe, but at least covering up lets me know what people are actually thinking, rather than letting them just gauke at my boobs." She shrugged, "In society I'd rather be appreciated for my mind than my body. My body is for private." She grinned.
"Oh, I won't. I'll probably end up just hugging on him. The cute blushy ones are completely huggable. If that's a word..." She looked as if she were thinking, "Well, if it wasn't, it is now." She chuckled.
"Why would I do that? We coyotes are scavengers ourselves. Badmouthing scavengers is like talking shit on myself." She laughed as she stepped closer to the african girl, a little grin on her lips.
"I come from a family of them, yes. Both sides, even. As far as how it started, no idea. That's mostly myth. How it works... well... how do you mean?" She asked, slipping an arm around the other girl's waist.

"I mean anything in how it works why some people turn into the animals they do is it genetics, personality or what? I literally know absolutley nothing about any of this shifter crap. First thing I knew of it was when I shifted for the first time, and yeah that didnt end well."
She said all this as she started walking out the door. "And is it just me or do most of the families of shifters have lots of money?" She said trying to keep her expression mostly bland as she made her way out the door. Yeah the other girl definitley looked better with fewer clothes on. Almost too good it was hard to think about much when the girl looked that good.
"You sure you just want to wear that I mean you might cause a few nose bleeds or guys to go into comas." She said in a slightly joking tone. Her hormones were going into over drive what with the girl dressing like that and some of her comments. She shook her head to try and clear it enough to think straight. She didnt like not having her wits about her. She did wiggle her ass as they walked out of the room and smiled a little playfully flirting never hurt anyone at all.
"Just make sure you dont do more than hug Cub he's a really decent guy." She said a note of warning in her voice.

Kilian had to think for a moment on that question. It wasn't one that was easy to answer, but she was sure that she could if she thought back far enough. She knew that her father had told her something at one point or another. "Well, the way my father once explained it to me, it has to do with a combination of factors, but genetics and personality are key for whatever reason. It sometimes has to do with environment or ancestry as well, or if you know you're a shifter, sometimes you can kind of... focus, on an animal. There's a lot that goes into it; not a simple process at all really. Once you have a form though, you can't change it. As far as I know, anyway."
Kilian shrugged a little at the question, playfully looking away. She was the perfect example of that very question. A long line of shifter, on both sides - an extremely long line at that - and her family had a ton of money. Literally, at that - though most often their source of money was weighed in gallons and stuck in fifty five gallon drums. The company was old too; very old. "Well, I have to admit, it does seem that way. Hell, I could be the poster child for that very thing." As she spoke, her eyes wandered over Zuri's curves. That brilliant little two-piece she wore was a grand thing to look at, but even better was what it revealed, and how little it left to the imagination.
"Well, I can't say I would be entirely against giving the random person a nose bleed. Honestly, if they can't handle looking at me, well, then maybe they should look away. If I sent anyone into a coma though, I would count that as an amazing feat." She grinned at the thought; imagining someone actually falling into a coma just by looking at her body. Then a little smirk came to her lips and the arm that was around Zuri's waist drew her closer to her side. "What I'd like to know is what my state of dress might be doing to you, gorgeous." She whispered, and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
She smiled and giggled lightly at the warning. "Oh, don't worry love. I'm more into girls than guys anyway." She gave a wink and looked Zuri over purposefully.

She licked her lips at the other girl oh yeah this could be a lot of fun but she wasn't quite sure about her just yet. "Well you should wear more revealing clothing more often no offense but your uniform makes you look like a guy." She said putting her own arm around the woman. They walked outside and the sun was shining brightly. Zuri's heart was beating rapidly. She copped a feel on the other girls ass as they walked outdoors. The sun was shining perfect beach weather. Several kids stared at the two of them, a younger kid maybe in 8th grade blushed and ran after taking a long look. She couldnt help but giggle and blow kisses to some of the worsed affected as they made their way to the beach.

Kilian laughed when Zuri told her that her uniform made her look like a guy. Ah, stating the obvious never got old, did it? "Well sweatheart, that's actually kinda the point. It is a military style uniform after all." When she felt the other girl's hand on her rear, she mimicked the motion, but her hand didn't leave. Her hand stayed right there on the hyena shifter's ample backside, ignoring the people around them. "Damn, you make me want to forget the beach and just head back to the room..." He grinned seductively. "You know, I've never had hyena..." She whispered in her ear, "I wonder how you taste..."
