Overall:Momoko a soft spoken young woman. She's usually the voice of reason amongst her group of friends though that doesn't mean she won't rush into things without thinking. She's easy to speak with and enjoys conversing with people after she's comfortable around them. Though it may take her a while for her to finally speak with a person. She's not the sort of girl who will willingly walk up to a stranger and start a conversation. Ever the introvert Momoko's a wallflower who will try to get to know a person instead of speaking to them. She likes to figure and map them out before she makes her move.
However, when she does make a friend with someone she'll stick to them like glue. When she cares about someone she will stop at nothing to make sure that they're treated correctly and she'll do all sorts of things for them. She's afraid of her friends leaving her and will do a lot to make sure that she keeps them happy. She does her very best to make her friends happy and appease them saying "no" is a very hard action for Momoko to perform. She supposes that she could be called over invested in her friends since she really cares about them. Because of that she can be hurt very easily if her feelings aren't reciprocated and if she's hurt by one of her friends it takes her a while to get over it since she tends to harp over things.
Though when her offending friend "comes to their senses" about how they need her or ask for forgiveness she will give it readily. It's nearly impossible for Momo to remain angry with anyone for very long or hold a grudge against somebody. Besides, she's extremely sensitive to conflict and tends to get upset over fights. Especially if she's the cause of the trouble. If put in a position to where she doesn't have to fight or do anything to make waves she won't. Momoko a pacifist by nature and doesn't like to inflict pain or fight against someone unless she really absolutely has to. She has a pretty soft demeanor and usually she keeps quiet and to herself which she supposes makes her come off as cold when people first meet her. Miss Miyazaki will try to map out a person first. When she decides she likes someone she'll do their best to protect them. If that means that she'll have to lie to them so she won't hurt their feelings then she will. She hates it when people are upset and will often get all up in people's business if she thinks that she can help them out. If people are broken she'll try to fix them and has a tendency to believing that people need her and they just don't know it yet.
She's a genuinely cheerful young woman. Happy-go-lucky is the best way to describe her since she easily believes that everybody is really good. Momoko can be described as blindly optimistic since everybody is good until proven otherwise. Do unto others is Momoko's golden rule. She's a very trusting girl automatically believes people since she's rather naive.
If Momoko finds out that someone has lied to her or she's been used she will immediately feel her heart break! She wants to believe that everybody's naturally good and when her belief is shattered she cannot help but feel completely betrayed especially since she's a very shy girl and it takes a lot for her to open herself up to people. It takes her a very long time to forgive and forget.
Momoko's the baby of the family being the youngest of three children and she's used to getting what she wants. She supposes that she could be called a "cry baby". She's a very emotional young girl who will cry, listen to sad songs, and stuff herself with ice cream. When she tries to comfort herself she can be all but inconsolable until something distracts her from her mood. Thankfully for her and her small circle of her friends those moods don't last very long and she returns to her sunny self very quickly.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By: Sayumi Michishige
Appearance: Momo isn't a stunning or glamorous looking girl by any means. Though she has her own air of attractiveness and usually passes for a very cute young lady. She has a fully cherubic sort of face that holds a very sweet look to it. Her dark hair is a deep ebony color that's silky mixed with wire. It's medium length hair that reaches just a little bit below her shoulders. Normally, she has it left down though it's also sometimes braided into two thin braids that frame her sweet looking face.
Her bangs hide a fairly big in her opinion forehead and she likes to swish her hair from side to side when she's got it. Momoko's eyes are almond shaped and very dark. Her irises are a dark chocolate color that almost blend in with her pupils. She's got thin eyelashes that surround her eyes but she attempts to make them look longer with use of mascara and eye make up. She's not a girl that's normally found fussing about her looks too much but she does enjoy looking nice. Momoko does what most girls to in order to look nice. She waxes her eyebrows, makes sure that her face is covered with foundation if she has a pimple, wears lip gloss to make sure that she's got smooth lips. Though Momoko's not fanatical about it.
Momoko's nose is rather large but it seems to suit her face just fine. She likes it well enough even though she wouldn't mind if it was smaller or perhaps more up turned in oppose to bulbous near the end. Beneath her nose is a pair of full pink lips. Normally, her mouth is drawn up into a smile. Though her smile is a bit crooked and raises up to one side a little bit more than on the other when she smiles fully. Lack of great dental care in her home town has left her with not the world's best teeth. They aren't Hollywood white or super straight.
A steady diet of healthy foods keep Momoko in shape. She's got a very thin and delicate looking figure that's almost dollish. Coming from Japanese decent she's not a very tall lady. She reaches a very tiny height of roughly four feet and eleven inches. Because she's so thin she doesn't have much of a figure to speak of and could be described as a carpenter's dream. Though she's a demure girl and tends to wear clothes that can compliment her.
Momoko isn't the sort of girl found prancing around in outlandishly skimpy clothing and she tends to cover herself up to the best of her ability beneath pastel colored clothes or more earthy tones. She likes to wear dresses, skirts, and anything that looks good beneath a cute frilly apron.
In her tanuki form Momoko retains a sweet looking face it is a tanuki face of course but it's still equally as cute. She’s a very small animal around the same size as very small dog. Beneath an excess of fluffy looking fur is a very small animal that looks a little bit bigger than she actually is. Her ears are rounded long the top of her head and a dark ebony color with tufts of white along the inside.
Her forehead is a white color that matches the tufts inside her ears and along her face are two dark spots around her very small dark eyes. Her eyes are the same chocolate color and still a little bit almond shaped but more circular near the center. Her nose is far more pronounced in her tanuki form and still fairly big. Her mouth is pretty small and narrow with a row of teeth that can crack into almost anything. Along her chin is a dark black spot that run from both of her cheeks to her chin. She’s got a dark coco color around her body with strands of dark black and white fur that streak parts of it. Her legs are a black and her paws are fairly sharp. Her body could best be described as dog like and rather poised. Every step she takes seems to be deliberate and careful. Momoko's tail is fairly short and very fluffy. The fur along it is around the same as the rest of the coco colored fur along her body. [/size]
...history
Parents: Goro and Yuka Miyazaki both forty five years old.
Siblings: Yusei Miyazaki, twenty years old.
Seiko Miyazaki, nineteen years old.
Goro was out fishing on that hot summer day with Momoko was born. It was the fishing season and the father of two had to make enough money to support their third child. It was a very normal summer day, it was hot and sticky along the island of Ooshima. Yusei and Seiko were outside playing ball with a few of the other children and Yuka was watching them fanning herself beneath the hot Japanese sun.
Most of the other women were out at the greenhouses, harvesting some of the best fruits and vegetables to be sold at the market. Yuka was in her rocking chair, fan in her hand as she waved air at her face. It was a beautiful day, she supposed until that all too familiar maternal pain from a baby that wanted to come out interrupted it.
Yuka had her oldest, Yusei go get her sister who was a few houses away to take her off the island. Ooshima was a very tiny island, there was no hospital, no doctor on it, they had to go to Hirado which was some time way in order to get to the hospital to give birth. The little island was abuzz with excitement it wasn't often they got a new child and they were excited to welcome a new life onto the island.
Yuka, her children, and her sister Sadako went to the boat that would take to Hirado. Yuka sat and rubbed her stomach as she clenched her eyes thought about a nice hospital bed. It took a while for them to make it to the hospital, after they left the little boat they had to take a quick walk to the hospital. Sadako was worried about her sister but she did her best to support her. This was Yuka's third child and she knew that walking would be good for her.
When they made it to the hospital roughly ten minutes later they checked in and Yuka walked around the hospital. Up and down the halls for an our or two as her contractions got stronger. This pregnancy was different, she could tell. Though Yuka did her best to not worry about what could go wrong or anything negative as she didn't want her negative thoughts to go to her baby.
Later that evening, Yuka gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Any doubting that she had washed away as soon as she held onto her little girl. Momoko was her first girl and her last child. After re cooperating in the hospital, the Miyazaki family returned home. It was different for the Miyzaki boys to not have the full attention of their mother. They were both close in age and Yusei couldn't remember his little brother getting more attention when he had been born a year later. Though now the both of them were old enough to know that the tiny pink thing that had invaded their home would take up their mothers time.
Momoko hung onto her mother almost all the time, her mother clung back to her happily. Yusei and Seiko accepted the fact that their mother had a lot on her hands now and they discovered that they could get away with doing more things with Momoko distracted their mother. The seasons changed and the head of the Miyazaki family returned from sea, the fisherman Goro was elated to have his daughter and they knew that their faily was complete.
The youngest Miyazaki had a very normal childhood. She grew up happily and healthily on Ooshima. The children and women were left alone during the spring and summer months when the men went out to fish. Momoko never complained though, she'd tail behind her mother and help her pick fruits and vegetables from the greenhouse and they'd go out to the other islands to shop and pick up her brothers as they started to go off to school.
Momoko loved having the time alone with her mother and her mother ate it up. Yuka and her sister Sadako would happily watch Momoko. Though as she got older she would have to leave her mother and aunt to go to school. That was all right with Momoko though since the school was only a few minutes away from home and not a very far walk besides the other children were there.
Ooshima wasn't a very big island and the few children that were there were mixed in together. Since her brothers were also there it made it more like home than like a chore. Momoko was a fairly bright little girl but she liked watching the other students a lot more than listening to her teacher and learning about what two plus five meant.
As the Miyazaki children got older they had to travel to Hirado in order to go to middle school. Yusei being the oldest was the first to take the ferry to the other island and left his two little siblings behind. Momoko being the youngest knew exactly what to expect when she was old enough for middle school but she didn't want to leave her island. Seiko was the next to leave and their little classroom grew smaller and smaller.
Her brothers would come back home when school was finished and they'd speak about their day as Momoko and her mother prepared dinner. It wasn't an exciting life but it was Momoko's.
It would have remained that day too if it hadn't have been for that cold winter day. Mr. Miyazaki returned home and he was in the living room reading the paper, Seiko and Yusei were watching television, Mrs. Miyazaki was making lunch, and Momoko was about to take a nap.
She just fell asleep, she didn't know what happened or how it happened but when she opened her eyes her family was looking at her in horror. In place of their little Momoko was something small and furry, a tanuki.
Yuka disclosed that her sister Sadako was a shifter as well. Goro wanted to keep it under its hat, that it was a family matter and that Momoko wasn't to be taken away. Though, Yuka said it would be good for her and reguardless she would have to go.
Momoko did go and instead of going to the school at Hirado she went to Shifter's Academy. Since then she bloomed into a young lady as well as found her niche in school but she does get homesick quie often.
...connecting human to animal
Despite the fact that tanuki being animals that aren't endangered or scarce they're rather mysterious little beasts. They're fairly isolated animas, much preferring to be by themselves then be in a pack or amongst other tanuki a lot like Momoko who would much rather stay in her own little bubble and not have people bother her. They're monogamous animals who normally have a lot of pups and tanuki mothers like many mothers in the animal kingdom are very good at taking care of their young; which is one reason why I put Momoko into home economics. She's a thrifty sort who has an eye for child development, home safety, cooking, nutrition, saving food, designing her
Tanuki are also the only member of the candid family who actually hibernate in the winter, which is why Momoko is often very sleepy when it's cold and prone to falling asleep when she gets too cold. A lot of her likes and dislikes also come from what real tanuki's like and dislike. Plus, look at her little face.
