***************Standing with the wallflowers Wishing you would've stayed at home You kick yourself for coming When you're standing there all alone***************
Annette hurried threw the driving rain to the green house she wanted to get out of the School and the only place she could think of was the green house, it was warm and dry and she hoped quiet. Moving with her jacket over her head she opened the glass doors and stepped inside immediately she felt the warmth and smiled her guitar sat strapped across her back all she wanted was some where she could enjoy her type of music some of the girls in her door had taken exception to her and asked her to stop . So there she was standing dripping wet in the green house , seeing a pile of rags she moved to sit down. the guitar now placed on her knee as she sighed looking down at the strings on it. Slowly she plucked at the strings until once more she found it making a tune of sorts she just sat forming the music she felt inside her. Her fingers move4d quickly over the strings and the strum of the guitar filled the green house air. Her mind now seeming to calm and focus its self again yet things seem to bit at her , like why was she still alone why did people seem to just focus on her as a friend and why could she still not find that one man of her thoughts. She took a deep breath and sighed placing the guitar down next to her as she looked at the flowers around her it seem to be a tropical paradise. Except for several ill looking planet in one corner , standing she moved to one feeling its soil some what dry she looked round for a small watering can witch she saw on a small desk by the door . Quickly she retrieved it and dampened the soil placing it gently down next to the plants. Moving back she kicked the table leg in frustration “ gods dam it why can’t you just get a guy Annette”, she said sitting back against the cool glass behind her. Her green eyes looked around again her eyes now filling with the tears she fought so hard not to let out. Her mother had rote that after graduation she was not to return home as her father didn’t want her there because they were having another baby and needed the room, now she really felt alone. x It was raining. Harder than Emily had thought it would be. Of course, I hadn’t been doing much else than raining, and being windy. Wind-ing should be a word, the small girl thought as she half ran towards the greenhouse. She had been hoping to come out and take some pictures. Rain was good for photos, though it often lent a depressed look to the scene. Emily had fun trying to make the rain look more cheerful. She was wearing a large red raincoat to keep the rain off her. Her parents probably would have never let her out of the house in weather like this. They would be afraid that she would catch a cold. Emily was used to colds now, she managed to get them even in the summer. They were never bad and she could get herself straight no problem. But Rain like this was something she had to get a photo of.
As she reached the green house she thought she heard a sort of banging sound from inside, as though something had fallen or been hit. Was someone inside already? Or had something just fallen over randomly. Most likely somebody was in there, even in rain like this the plants in the greenhouse would need watering, they weren’t getting any of it. A strange thought popped into her head. Emily thought she was rather like a plant in a greenhouse. All her life had been sheltered, with people looking after her diligently, but she had never felt the rain. But now she was out and about by herself and free to do what she wanted. She still remembered her parents advice and care, even if she broke a few small rules.
Emily peered through the glass of the greenhouse, seeing someone inside. She opened the door a small amount, poking her head around. Seeing an older girl sitting against the glass, Emily edged her way in to the greenhouse a little more. Rain was dripping from her on to the floor, but she was smiling as she looked at the girl. ”Hi, Do you mind if I come in, it’s a bit wet out here.” she said, still smiling. She might be able to take some photos on here. Emily noticed that the girl had a guitar, it was decorated in some way, though she couldn’t see any clearer from here. It looked interesting, and she might ask if she could take a picture of that too. People sometimes asked why she took so many pictures. Her answer was that she liked to remember, and be able to look back on any moment of her life when she got older.

Annette looked up as she heard the door to the Green house open and a small blond girl wearing a large red raincoat walked in dripping wet and clutching a camera. “Sure it’s the school’s Green house so I don’t see why not. “ she said softly her head only slightly turned to look at her , she saw she was a little young to be out in the rain. Nevertheless, it was not her place to say anything hers was to get over the lack of male company she had and the lack of friends she had too. Moving to look at her, she gave a smile “what your name, mines Annette” she said turning now to face her with a smile , she felt some what better now she had company of sorts. She turned back to the plants some of witch were blooming and smelt the sweet fragrance coming from them “what brought you here , me I just came for the quiet and to be able to play with out girls complaining “ se said with a sigh as she picked up her Guitar and strummed a few cords to show her. Gently she tied back her blond hair and began playing softly soon a tune floated from her hands around the green house and she smiled 2Like it I’m stuck on the words a little, I thought something along these…High is the moon tonight Hiding its guiding light High Heaven and earth do sleep Still in the dark so deep I will the darkness sweep I will the moon to flight I will the heavens bright I will the earth delight Open your eyes with me See paradise with me Awake and arise with me I am the dawn, I'm the new day begun I bring you the morning, I bring you the sun I hold back the night and I open the skies I give light to the world, I give sight to your eyes From the first of all time, until time is undone Forever and ever and ever and ever And I am the dawn and the sky and the sun I am one with the One, and I am the dawn I am the sky and the dawn and the sun I am the sky and the new day begun I am the sky and the dawn and the sun.” Turning to face her she smiled “so what’s your opinion should I keep it or rework it ?” she asked now placing the guitar back down beside her as she waited for her to speak. x The other girl looked up when Emily entered. She seemed quite nice, and Emily smiled at her as she entered the greenhouse properly. Everyone Emily had met so far had been nice. She was sure she would have a good time here. Her parents had warned her about so much before she had left home, she had half expected the people to be unkind or be cruel or try to con her or steal things. But now she was thinking that she was probably just over-reacting.
The girl turned to look at Emily properly, smiling warmly. Emily wasn’t used to everyone introducing themselves so quickly. But it was probably because of where they were. A school on a relatively small island, people were bound to run into each other more than once. So it was nice to get to know the people you would be spending however many years with. The small girl smiled again before replying. ”My name is Emily.”
The girl, Annette, was turning to look at the flowers, and asking why she had come to the greenhouse. ”I came to take some pictures, I didn’t think the rain was this hard at first… But once I’d gotten all dressed to go out I thought I may as well. I wanted to take pictures of the rain and I thought the flowers might look nice as well so… here I am.” She gave a little shrug to accompany her final words.
Emily wondered why girls were complaining when Annette was playing her guitar. It couldn’t be because she was really bad could it? Maybe it was just because they didn’t like her style of music. She was a little surprised when the girl picked up her guitar and started playing, asking her what she thought.
Emily listened as Annette played. It was a beautiful song, and had a nice sound to it, the guitar sounding nice going along with it. She smiled as the older girl played. When she had finished she nodded, still smiling. ”I like it. I don’t think you need to rework it at all. It sounds nice.” The young girl wanted to ask if she could take a few pictures of her guitar. It was a nice looking instrument, and Emily likes taking pictures of interesting things she saw.
”How long have you been playing? You’re really good.” She asked, thinking she could leave the photography for later. She couldn’t help giving the instrument a glance as the other girl placed it down.

***************Standing with the wallflowers Wishing you would've stayed at home You kick yourself for coming When you're standing there all alone***************
Annette looked upon smiling on hearing the girl speak, it was nice that she had asked and it send a warm feeing threw her as she placed the guitar down carefully next to her .
“ hello Emily and thank you, I won’t change it then, yeah the rain is good for photos , I like it after the rain , the droplets on the leaves looking like tiny diamonds hanging from the leaves in the trees. “ She said softly with a warm smile. Annette looked at her as she asked about how long she had been playing guitar.
“Ow couple of years, my mother insisted I play some instrument or another, at first it was piano but now it just passes the time.” She said moving slowly from where she sat to stand up somewhat shakily in front of her. She felt the tingling sting of pins and needles course threw the muscles in the back of her legs. This told her she had sat too long in one spot but now on her feet the blood pumped back to her toes making them too tingle as she slowly walked down the rows of plants. She saw one with a delicate blue flower and paused the scent she noticed was sweet like honey, another a little more course and pungent she coughed as it took her breath away. Quickly she moved on chuckling at her mistake.
“So Emily, what is it you shift into, or don’t you know yet?” Her voice soft and none threatening as she spoke, as she tried to put the girl at her ease. Slowly she moved closer to her, her blond hair brushed back over her ears.
“Me I’m a puma, you know a big cat.” She could not help but chuckle at her own words. “Sorry it’s just ironic, that I should be a cat and the most social of creatures, yet be in human form so alone right now.” Her smile faded a little as she lent back on a rough wooden plant stand.
“You’re a fifth year?” she asked as she folded her arms across her chest hoping a change of conversation might make the lonely feeling she now felt in her chest leave her even for a moment. She kicked dirt that lay under the stand back and forth as she waited , in her mind she could wait all day it made no difference to her , for once she had no place to go and nobody to meet.

x The girl seemed to be nice, and didn’t appear to mind Emily being here. The small girl moved a little way into the greenhouse, closing the door behind her. The rain was just as loud though, bouncing off the glass of the greenhouse. Emily thought it was a nice sound really, it was quite loud but it somehow reassured her. It made her feel quite safe hearing the sound outside and knowing that she was safe inside. She stood dripping wet, gazing around at the flowers. The younger girl nodded in agreement with Annette’s comment. Things could look beautiful after the rain. It really depended on how the photograph was taken.
Emily wondered how good Annette was at the piano. She had ever tried playing an instrument herself, though she had thought about it. It must take a while to get good though. She wondered if anyone could become a great musician in time and with practice, or if the really good ones were just gifted. She would like to think that anyone could do it if they tried hard enough. ” So you used to play piano as well? Do you like guitar better? And did you think it was easy to learn?” she asked. Maybe three questions at once was a bit much, but Emily was a very curious person and if she didn’t ask now she would have to ask later and that would slow the whole conversation down.
Annette stood and walked a little way, looking at the plants. She stopped to smell one, seeming to lose her breath for a moment. Some flowers had deceptively strong scents. Emily likes the smell of flowers but sometimes they were too much for her, especially since her breathing wasn’t the best in the first place.
Emily smiled as Annette asked what she could shift into. She liked talking about shifting, though is was still an odd thing to discuss with strangers. ”Oh, I shift in to a robin. I love it, I feel so free when I shift.” She said. Though she hadn’t had much shifting experience she loved every time she became the animal and could fly and forget about her weaknesses. Annette was moving closer to her. Emily smiled at her.
The Emily was about to ask what Annette’s shift was when the older girl told her. A puma was an interesting animal. ”Oh, that sounds nice, I bet you’re really strong and fast when you shift.” the robin shift said. It wasn’t really a question, more her thinking aloud. Her expression changed when Annette said she was alone. The smile that she had been wearing was replaced with a sad little look. ”I’m sorry you feel alone. I’m here now if it makes you feel any better.” she said. Emily knew that probably wasn’t the kind of alone she meant but hopefully she could help a little. She didn’t know how to make Annette feel better if keeping her company wasn’t going to help.
The older girl changed the subject, probably not wanting to think about being alone. ”I’m in the seventh grade. It’s my first year here though, I just got here. What about you? Have you been here long?” She gave a little smile, hoping to make Annette feel maybe a little better.
