Major Explanation:
Gage has always been interested in the way the human mind works. He would always over-analyze the way people around him acted and reacted. His interest in this major sprouted from his mother. She had several mental illnesses, such as bipolar disorder and histrionics. Due to her mental unstableness, he was stripped from her and he lived with his grandparents. He now wants to make strives to help people like his mother.
The horse is a very sensitive creature. It can sense changes in emotions of other beings and has strong emotions itself. Since Gage shifts into a horse, his passion for psychology and a horse's sensitivity to emotional changes make him the perfect candidate for becoming a psychologist.

If you're a snake, great but what kind of snake, what do you look like etc. Both of these are important and must be explained as detailed and as thoroughly as possible
