Overall: Christopher is a bit of a thrill seeker. He enjoys extreme sports. Particularly hang gliding, though he also dabbles in sky diving, BASE Jumping, and Bungee jumping, mostly the first two and sometimes without a parachute or plane, shifting into animal form before reaching the ground.
His other major love is the sea. He enjoys the inherent adventure of sailing and the vast openness of the ocean gives him a sense of peace. The other reason he enjoys the sea is it produces his favorite food, fish. He loves fresh fish fried or roasted over an open fire. Though in his albatross form he usually doesn't bother with the cooking part. Nothing is more calming to Chris than sailing out into the sea and dropping a line, or flying over the ocean watching for fish.
He is also a travel addict and loves seeing new places. In connection with another hobby of his, reading. Chris has a secret wish/plan to trace the route described in Jules Verne's "Around the World in Eighty Days. Though he doesn't admit this to anyone but those he trusts the most.
When reading his tastes run towards sci-fi and fantasy, and a lot of of his favorite books involve other worlds, or dimensions. He also reads some poetry. Particularly Samuel Taylor Coleridge's Rime of the Ancient Mariner, which he quotes as the situation warrants. He also tends to quote other poems by Coleridge or other poets.
Chris can also be described as a bit of a rebel. He dislikes limitations, and prefers to feel free. Mostly he captures this sense of freedom through flight. Even though he dislikes limitations set on him, he isn't much of a rule breaker, as long as he can see a reason for said rule.
In conjunction with the previous statement, Chris can be the perfect model of the "People Person", or the contemplative loner thinking under a tree. He is equally comfortable in the "flock" scene or alone.
The one place he isn't comfortable is in tightly enclosed spaces. Particularly enclosed spaces with only one exit. Depending on how tight the space is he'll be anywhere from slightly nervous, or in a stage of totally freaking out to the point where he switches to his albatross form, which tends to make things worse due to the fact that his wings are ten feet long.
On land Chris tends to be a bit of a klutz. Especially after he shifts back to human form. If he has a klutzy incident, he tends to laugh it off and downplay it, or upstage it with a comically faked episode. This depends on his mood at the time.
Over all he is a laid back person. It is hard to get Chris angry and nearly impossible to incite him to violence. Partly this is because of his happy, go lucky nature, though another factor is the knowledge that he can always fly away from a confrontation once he's had enough. He tends to be a bit of a joker, though he can also be serious when needed.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By:Henry Thomas
Appearance: [400 words minimum]
Human
Due to the fact that most of his sporting choices are extreme sports, he is not "toned" or "athletic". Though he is in decent shape. His build would be described by most people as "Lanky" or "gangly".
He tends to have a neat appearance. He tends to wear drab, utilitarian clothing instead of flashy, colorful, fashions. But his clothing is always neatly arranged. Whether he is wearing casual, or extreme dress wear he takes the same caution in arranging his clothes so the thing that need to be tucked, are tucked, his shoes are neatly tied, Sleeves are neatly rolled up or let down etc.
He usually wears a white t-shirt with a black denim jacket, and normal jeans of a miscellaneous color, but they tend to be black or white. Plain sandals finish the ensemble.
Chris is five foot ten and weighs about one hundred pounds. He has blue eyes, which some say gives him a solemn air about his face. Except when he is participating in one of his extreme sports, or when joking then they light up and give his face a more jovial quality.
Christopher sports black hair on his head. Which he keeps cropped short and neatly arranged. He washes his hair enough to keep it nearly constantly clean. On average he showers about once every other day.
Chris keeps his face clean shaven. He also keeps it washed. His teeth and mouth are clean. Thus his teeth are nice and white, while his gums and tongue are a healthy pink. His teeth are rather ordinary.
Albatross
When he is in Albatross form he looks like a normal or perfect example of a male Albatross. His body is snow white, and his wings are white with black on the tips and going down the side. His beak and webbed feet are pink.
Chris' wings are ten feet in length, though in fact his body is only about four feet and six inches long. He weighs about twenty two pounds.
His eyes remain blue. And though he lacks ears and lips he is still quite expressive. Mostly he has to resort to head and beak position to convey emotion. Though he can also employ his wings if needed, as long as he isn't currently in flight. When threatened he stands tall, fluffs his feathers, and spreads his wings to their full length, opening his beak. This can be quite intimidating.

[400 words minimum]
Chris grew up on the coast of Oregon. Every alternating summer, he would get to choose what vacation the family took, on the other summers the choice was made by friends of the family who lived in Montana. Invariably he would choose traveling or some kind of cruise.
He and his family were preparing for such a journey when he shifted for the first time. His father had told him that he wanted to talk to him about something, but Chris wasn't paying attention. He had been itching all over and it was getting unbearable. He excused himself to go get some driftwood that he had found for the twins, who were flying in on the following day. The shift happened on his way to a cove were he spent a lot of his time and stashed different items.
Soon the the itching grew til he couldn't stand it anymore. His joints started to ache something terrible. He decided to dive into the water to try and get rid of the ache and itch. He swung off a rope swung, and the shift finished while he was in the air. Instinct took over and his wings snapped open, the breeze carrying him out to sea.
By the time he realized what was happening he was already in International waters. He wasn't even sure what day it was so he headed south to try and intercept the cruise, which was going along the eastern coast of Australia and up to parts of Indonesia. He managed to intercept the ship but, due to the people on the deck so he couldn't land or shift back. Plus he hadn't had much practice landing due to the fact that he spent all of his time over open water. He flew away for a bit to get some food, planning to land on the deck at night. He made it back to the boat at sunset.
Storm clouds loomed threateningly in the sky, so the only person on deck was his mother, who shifted into her other form and flew up to meet her than she flew back down and shifted back to human. Chris flew towards but over corrected on the approach, so he circled to try again. As he was circling his mother explained how this was natural for him and tried to give some pointers for landing. He finally got the approach right when the storm hit. His over sized wings caught the wind, and blew him far from the ship.
He never managed to catch up with the ship again. When he was on his way back to Oregon, his feathers started falling out, and his wings started growing smaller. He collapsed into the water and reemerged fully human. A sailing ship came across him and fished him out. It was a British man trying to circumnavigate the globe without stopping in port. Chris helped him with small chores and learned a lot about sailing.
All to soon they reached London and Chris said his farewells. He ducked into a deserted alley and shifted, flying out to try to get back to Oregon. He flew into the Pacific down near Australia to avoid the stormy straight of Magellan and the possibility of being blown off course. On his way back he passed the Hawaiian Islands and spotted an eagle, which puzzled him due to the fact that they don't live in the Pacific. He followed the eagle, curious and saw the eagle shift into human. Intrigued Chris landed and shifted back to human. He found out that this was a place where people like him, shapeshifters, could do what was normal for them.
He decided to enroll and then send a letter to his parents explaining what had happened since he left London.
And this is where his adventure really begins.

"Water, water every where, but not a drop to drink." Chris chuckled to himself as he quoted the most famous lines in Coleridge's Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
He was alone on the deck of the Captain Cook, so if he really wanted to he could always shift to his albatross form and take a drink. Of course he could always go below deck to get some bottled water. He looked down at the clean deck and decided to try his luck at fishing.
Soon a jerk came at his line and he reeled in a large blue fin tuna. Which he cleaned, quoting a riddle from "The Hobbit" as he did. "Alive without breath, as cold as death, never thirsty always drinking, all in mail never clinking." Chris smirked, "And pretty tasty too." His musing was interrupted as a shadow crossed the deck. He smiled as he tossed the tuna guts to the albatross, quoting Coleridge's Rime again. "And a good south wind sprung up behind; The Albatross did follow, And every day, for food or play, Came to the mariner's hollo!"
"And what are you up to?"
Chris jumped, almost cutting himself with his cleaning knife. "Just tossing some offal to yon bird," Chris answered.
"Sea gulls are damned nuisances, don't encourage them."
"It's an albatross, sailors say they're good luck."
"I couldn't care less it's just one more free loader."
Chris couldn't ignore the chance for a jab at the captain. "Oh so you like bones and guts?"
The Brit chuckled. "I guess that's what I get for picking up castaways. A smart mouth."
Chris smirked. "Well that and clean decks. Not to mention this tuna."
Chris stood up and went below decks to fry his catch. In a few weeks they'll be in London and he'll be able to head back home to Oregon.
As he chopped the fish he wondered if he should write about the events of the day in the letter he was preparing. He remembered the events that had separated him from his family.
As the tuna simmered, Chris sat down with pen in hand, and started to write. "Theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do and die. " I'm sure Tennyson wrote these words to convey military discipline. But to me they have a different meaning the winds of fate blow through and there is nothing for us mere mortals to do but go on with life until we breathe our last.
Once again I hope this letter has found you well, and assure you by the time it has reached you're hands I should be making all haste back to Oregon unless some other misfortune plagues me. But I doubt it.
I assume my Odyssey is coming to an end. An albatross has crossed the path of the good ship Captain Cook, and that is normally held as a good omen.
Though as I pen these words I wonder if such omens really hold sway over our lives, and if such an omen has a different meaning for me, due to my unusual thread in the tapestry of the world.
Chris dated the section of his growing letter to home, and went to stir the tuna, which was sending out an enticing aroma. He hoped that this was the end of his little odyssey but he dared not believe it.
