Likes:(at least 10)
- Her family being shifters [Every kid dreams of an amazing life full of adventure, and Blossom was no different. She loves the excitement of knowing that her family can become animals, and knowing that one day, she'll be able to shift too.]
- Swimming [She believes it's because her brother loves being in the water so much, and she likes to be with him. However, she just loves to be in the water. The feeling of it is pure freedom.]
- Nature's beauty [Nothing is more captivating in her opinion.]
- Photography [What better way to share her joy of beauty and grace that to capture it with a camera?]
- Family [They give you a shoulder to lean on, and ear willing to listen, and a heart full of love. Nothing is better.]
- Friends [Family is amazing, but sometimes you want someone not related to you, willing to pick you up and keep you going. That's what friends are for.]
- Sign Language [Seeing as one of her older brothers is mute, she learned sign language just like the rest of the family, and she happens to love being able to talk without anyone knowing what she's saying.]
- Meeting new people [The excitement and thrill of wondering what they will be like, it keeps her guessing, and she loves the feeling.]
- Listening to others [Blossom loves to be that perfect friend, there all the time and listening to whatever her friends have to say. She's perfectly willing to listen to anyone, friend or not.]
- Nighttime. [The moonlight offers an unheard of enchanting feel, and the gentle breeze amidst the dark sky is breathtaking to her.]
Dislikes: (at least 10)
- She doesn't know her shift. [She can't wait till her thirteenth birthday, she wants to learn what animal she is going to shift into.]
- Interruptions [She loves to listen to people, but when she's talking, she gets annoyed quickly if she's interrupted. If she can listen, so can they.]
- People invading her space. [Blossom doesn't mind being near someone, but if it's her designated area, she hates people barging in without asking.]
- Overly happy people. [Enjoy life, but don't act like you don't have any problems. That's her philosophy.]
- Silence. [Maybe she can accept if there's a reason, but otherwise, someone needs to talk or do something. Anything.]
- Obnoxious, loud people. [Stop bothering everyone else! You can talk, just don't yell.]
- Threats. [They don't impress her, or scare her, so people just need to stop.]
- Red meat [It tastes disgusting, and seeing as her family are shifters, she always sees their faces when she tries to take a bite.]
- Money [All it does is cause problems and break people apart. Where's the good in that?]
- Being the youngest. [She hates feeling like she causes people to stop and wait for her, or think she can't take care of herself.]
Fears: (At least 3)
- The shifting gene skipping her. [What would be worse than being the only person in the family that never shifter?]
- Losing loved ones. [The fear is there for everyone, and it is a constant worry for Blossom. She's always worrying about her family.]
- Bugs [Hey, Blossom is a girl, and a young one. She's terrified of the crawling critters, and she doesn't care that some people may shift into them, she sees it, she squishes it.]
Strengths: (At least 3)
- Protective [She may be small, but when you threaten her friends and family, she packs a punch.]
- Caring [Unlike some, she genuinely cares about each and every person she meets, even if they don't return the sentiment.]
- Committed [Whatever she starts, she finishes. In no way is she afraid of commitment, in whatever form it comes.]
Weaknesses: (At least 3)
- Territorial [Blossom's a pacifist but she's quick to lash out if you get in her space without her permission. No surprise attacks people!]
- Easily manipulated. [She's a really sweet girl, but because of her caring nature she can easily be manipulated to believe anything someone tells her.]
- Jealousy [Sweet as she is, she gets jealous very easily, even though she's not really a clingy person. Envious might be a better word to use.]
Overall:
Blossom is an extremely sweet girl. She loves to make people happy, and be there for anyone who needs her. She is understanding, willing to listen, and nonjudgemental. She's an overall sweetheart in almost everyday. On top of this, though she isn't shy, she is very soft spoken and doesn't usually see the need to raise her voice. She'd rather not be heard than have to yell over the clamor for someone to hear her. Because of this, she is extremely irritated by those loud, obnoxious types of people and usually wants them to just go away. However, true to her nature, she usually politely asks them to maintain a quieter volume, instead of getting mad at them.
Like most people, the young girl has a strong desire to be well liked. Not exactly popular, but for everyone who thinks of her, to think of her as a friend and someone who will always be there for them. She doesn't want to spot light, but she wouldn't mind some mild attention. Emotionally, she just wants people to love her, and sadly that can be her downfall. Because of her kind disposition she is easily manipulated. People can use sob stories, real or not, and she will be caught up and believe them completely. Blossom isn't the most perceptive person, and doesn't recognize if someone is lying to her very easily, which makes tricking her all the easier. She has a big heart that is often turned against her.
Despite her willingness to help, she has a stubborn streak. Being the youngest she's always been taken care of, watched over. She remains adamant that no matter what, she can take care of herself, and that her family needs to stop constantly worrying about her. She is extremely strong willed in this way, and refuses to back down on this opinion. She is mostly ignored on this topic, but she remains insistent.
On top of it all, Blossom is the most family oriented person you will ever meet. Almost everything she does, she considers her family first, and how it will effect them, good or bad. She longs to show them that she can do something important, to make them all proud of her, even though she knows they are proud of her, and that they love her. Still, Blossom feels and undeterred desire to prove herself, that even though she hasn't shifted yet, to be special.
An odd flaw in her character is that she is easily made jealous. She can quickly become envious of something someone has, or the fact that they know their shift, it doesn't even matter what, she can become green with jealousy in a moments notice. She hates herself when she feels this way, but sometimes she feels that she just can't help feeling that way. Overall, she's just a friendly girl who wants to belong.

Celebrity Play By: Dakota Fanning
Appearance:
Blossom is a pretty girl, though she stills says, "I haven't bloomed yet." She's always wanted to be that pretty face that makes people look twice, and eye-catcher of sorts, even though she doesn't really want a lot of attention. She just wants to be thought of as pretty, as most girls do. Her eyes are a light, sparkling blue that are always alive with a friendly smile. Her eyebrows are framed by dark lashes and fairly light eyebrows that match her complexion and face quite nicely.
Her hair hangs just slightly below her shoulders, and it is just noticeably wavy, just enough to give it body and a little bit of stylistic flair to it. Her hair is a sandy blonde, that gleams lighter in the light, and it frames her shapely face beautifully. She has a rather petite nose that is situated in the average position, with thin pale pink lips just below. When she smiles, her dimples are light and just barely noticeable, depending on the angle that she is looking.
She is fairly pale, and usually burns when under the sun rather than tanning like some very lucky people. However, her complexion is a clean one that suits her facial features easily. Blossom is rather short, standing just at 5"2, but she's rather happy with her height, and plans on staying short. Overall her looks have an underlying sense of simplicity; a natural beauty.
Though she hasn't shifted yet, one she does, she will turn into the beautiful Mute Swan. Typical of the specific species, her feathers with be a soft white that is sometimes tinged with a yellow or brown because of the water she may be swimming in. She is rather big, as the mute swan is a typically large big, and her wing span is even greater. As is expected of the animal, she has the elegantly arched neck with a petite head perched up high. Her beak is a bright, flashy orange that is surround by a stripe of black that comes out just enough to encompass the eyes. The eyes themselves are a shiny black that reflects any light that shines in them, giving her a very intelligent look, even for an animal. At the top of the beak is a ridge that is a trait of the Mute Swan, a distinguishing feature. A beautiful, magnificent bird.

...history
Parents: Nathaniel and Antonia Richardson
Siblings: Annabelle (older sister, 22), Naomi (older sister, 19), Jayden (older brother, 17), Tristan and Icarus (twins, 14)
Blossom was born the youngest of 6, and throughout her life she always felt that everyone took to much time looking after her. She always wanted to be treated like a grownup, no matter what anyone else said to her. Still, despite all the age gaps between her and her siblings, the entire family became very close. They enjoyed doing things together, and Blossom grew up in a wonderful and accepting home. She was always a sweet child, and volunteered to do things for her parents and her brothers and sisters unbidden. She loved to help out in any way she could, no matter what it meant that she had to do.
The family wasn't just close knit because they were willing to accept anything, but also because they all shared one uncommon gene that was best kept secret from the rest of the world. They were shifters, and each were able to shift into a specifically chosen animal that they received from their parents. Blossom always found their shifting a source of entertainment and joy. Although some were more uncomfortable with it than others, for the most part, everyone was content with the way things were in the household.
It wasn't a specifically stressful life, even though not being able to tell the biggest secret of all time weighed on Blossom, she was good at keeping secrets, to the point of enjoying it. She would sit and watch with fascination as her family shifted, and always longed to be able to do it herself. For hours she would sometimes sit and wonder about what she would be, and about what she wished she could be, if she was allowed to choose her animal. Maybe a timid rabbit, a sweet puppy, something, anything. All she wanted was for the years to pass quickly so she could finally do it herself.
Around the time Jayden was expected to shift for the first time, Blossom was especially excited. She hadn't been around for anyone's first shift, that she could really remember, and she hoped to be right there when it happened. However, her older siblings and parents were always warning her to be careful, that no one knew the nature of Jayden's animal, and it could be dangerous to her, and everyone else. Blossom was determined, so she began spending more time with Jayden around that time. However, her constant pestering caused him to become agitated and finally he snapped, over the littlest thing. She watched with wide, innocent eyes as he changed, then lunged at her, his otter form menacing, even for such a small animal. Passively, she watched as her older siblings came to her rescue. She watched the battle but made no move to run away. It was over before she could really process what had happened, and then there was the brother she knew and loved apologizing for trying to hurt her. She smiled and accepted his apology, patting his hand and then running off to play.
Blossom was anxious to follow the foot steps of her siblings and attend the Academy, but she was made to wait till she was in the 7th grade. Even though she hadn't shifted yet, her parents allowed her to attend, reassuring themselves that in about a year she would shift, and they would have nothing to worry about.
...connecting human to animal
- Territorial [Blossom is extremely territorial as is the mute swan.
- Family Oriented [The mute swan is completely dedicated to its family, to the extent of taking one mate for life. Which is uncommon for an animal. In a similar way, Blossom is utterly committed to her family and will do anything for them.]
- Soft spoken. [The mute swan gets its name by being the least vocal of the swan breeds, and Blossom is quieter than some people. She isn't shy but when she talks she keeps her voice down.]
- Unafraid [Though she, like all people, has fears, she is willing to stand her ground and fight when she deems it necessary. The mute swan, in the same manner, does not flee it's home when threatened, like most birds, but fights back.]
