With a touch of your hand
Blue eyes graced the trees around her, bark prodding here and there along the surface of the large plants, working as a unit to climb ever higher, rounding the existence of trees. The large, looming beasts outstretched their limbs, blossoming large, green, leafy leaves. They would sway, the branches and leaves of the giant beasts, this way and that with the toss of the smallest winds. Stronger parts of the tree – thick branches, the trunk – would hold their ground, standing still and defiant in the face of the wind itself. It would seem to laugh in the face of the wind itself, mocking it as if the element would never be strong enough to take it on.
This was a quiet night, however. In the dead of the night, there were few animals that would bother to keep themselves awakened. Here, in the dead of the night, Crystal found herself, wanting to be apart of the world. She smiled pleasantly, the expression carving itself across her face. Delicate features turned from once icy exposures, to now warm and friendly exposures, making her look quite cute. Where she usually loomed, a thing not to be touched, now she seemed a bit inviting, although she would not openly warrant others around her. No, she liked to keep to herself, silent as the night air around her.
Her eyes shifted. Blocked out of view was the moon, so high above in the night sky. Hues of bluish danced across the surface of the sky, purplish, almost blackish to the touch. In its presence would hang the looming, almost white, light grayish glowing orb that graced the sky only at this time of ‘day’. She smiled, picturing it in her head. Yes, the moon was a spectacular sight to see, something worth wasting her time on. She would only leave the forest to see it, if it hadn’t of called to her.
Far away in the distance, she could see the trees, gathering close as if sharing a dark secret with each other. Trunks shot out from the sky, so close they almost touched in some places, and yet so far away in others, they shunned others away. Still there, a society took life, and a still and lifeless form. The wind proved the lack of life there, tossing the branches and leaves this way and that. And only with the wind itself, did the trees seem to be murmuring, gossiping amongst each other. Such a useless pastime, she thought, shaking her head. Gossiping. A sport invented among….agents? Now simple kids take it to a new extreme. Ugh.
But she wanted to escape from her worries that would follow her. She wanted to crawl out of her shell, shape herself, become something new amongst the heap and trouble that boiled all around her. Her skin crawled, sensations lighting up across the top of her flesh, and it secretly whispered fun, please into her ear. She knew what it wanted, she smiled at the thought of what it requested, but she would ignore it still. For now, she was here to enjoy the presence of the moon, shining brightly down upon the forest, only to be blocked out by the branches that crissed and crossed over one another, climbing to dog-pile each other. She could picture the moon in her head, even if she couldn’t see it all too well.
I am whole again
