Animal Identity:Felis catus, or Domestic House Cat
...personality
Likes:(at least 10)
- Brightly colored things, his cat nature demands that he chase them...or at least watch them.
- High places, he likes to sit and watch people from up high, listening quietly, learning.
- Laying in the sun, though this may be another part of the cat speaking, he loves to stretch out by a sunny window and rest his eyes and is a habit he picked up from watching cats.
- Fish, sushi mostly because it is raw and delicious, but keep it from the wassabi, he won't go near that. Ginger on the other hand is fantastic, in his mind.
- Murder Mysteries, though most of the time he can predict who the murderer is and why it was done, he still enjoys them because they give him a view into the minds of others.
- Classical and Techno music, combined would be like the best thing ever.
- Being Clean and smelling good, Cleanliness is next to Godliness in his mind.
- The smell of rain, if he can, he will go out and stand in the rain for as long as possible until he gets cold, it's his favorite smell and he would bottle it if he could.
- Meat, cats are carnivores through and through, though he always had a passion for a rare slab of beef.
- People in general, he likes the way that he can predict them, and if he can't right away, then he a can at least watch them, and he's an overall friendly guy.
- People playing with his hair, while he would admit to liking it more now that he was part cat, he also likes it as a form of affection(Due to his parents. See below).
Dislikes: (at least 10)
- Being cold, just because his furry side has fur, doesn't mean that he is warm all the time.
- Bell Peppers and most fruits and vegetables, he will eat some salad-y items but prefers if he doesn't have to, and the exception to the fruit rule is Tomatoes.
- wrinkles, and yes he actually irons his own shirts and makes his own sammiches.
- High pitched sounds or areas with a lot of people, he has sensitive ears, so anything like a whistle or a baby crying makes him cringe and he'll stay away from places with a lot of commotion.
- Being dirty, he isn't OCD about being super clean, but don't expect him to be working on cars and getting oil everywhere.
- The smell of burnt anything, his mother wasn't the world's best cook, so just about everything was burned and he was forced to eat it, despite being blackened and charred. Burnt onions are the worst, in his opinion.
- Taking Medication, he gets bad headaches and his ADD gets a bit out of control at times, but he refuses to take any sort of medication for either of them.
- Any sort of tight, enclosed space. If he can't move freely he starts to panic.
- Rollercosters, or most amusement rides, if it is off the ground, then there is no way he will like it.
- Peanut butter, it sticks to the roof of his mouth and he isn't all that fond of peanuts in the first place.
Fears: (At least 3)
- Being completely and utterly alone, he can handle being alone for a while, everyone needs to, but he needs the sounds of other people living. It freaks him out to no extent when it is completely silent.
- Thunder scares him almost as much as being completely alone. He has been known to hide under his bed when the thunderstorms get bad enough.
- He is super claustrophobic, tight spaces and him do not mix.
Strengths: (At least 3)
- He can see in the dark, thanks to being part cat.
- Super athletic, you know, running, jumping, climbing trees.
- Curiosity, he has this urge to find out all he can about people and how they work.
- Charming, when he puts his mind to it.
- Sensitive ears, helpful for hearing stuff from far away and quiet.
Weaknesses: (At least 3)
- He is mostly color blind, because of being part cat he can only really see the purple, blue, green, and yellow color range.
- Lactose allergic, he can have small quantities of milk with out getting sick, but too much and he'll be sick for the rest of the day, though that doesn't stop him from eating ice cream, or yogurt.
- Curiosity, the old saying that it killed the cat, still applies to Leolyn, but he can usually figure out that enough is enough.
- Sensitive ears, if the noise level gets to be a certain range, he gets bad headaches and becomes very cross.
- He's choosy about who he considers friends. You can be an acquaintance, but people he honestly considers friends are few and far between. That doesn't mean he won't try and flirt up the girl standing next to him.
- He doesn't like his blindness to be known and his parents are also a weak spot.
Overall: [400 words minimum]
Leolyn Starr, he’s your pretty average eighteen year old boy, or at least he tries to be. He’s got a minor case of ADD, and is easily distracted. He comes from a family with a good deal of money, but he tries to not let his high class standards get in the way of living life. He likes to chase after brightly colored objects, even if he looks completely ridiculous doing it. He likes to make people smile and is an overall good guy, when he’s interested. If not then he will completely blow you off, and walk off to do other things. He’s incredibly interested in all parts of life and will probably major in Psychology and minor in Biology, both subjects he excels at.
He gets bored easily, and that has been a major road block in most of what he does. If it isn’t interesting to him, it isn’t worth his time. One moment he can be totally nice and loving and the next, be ready to tear some-one's face off, much like the cat inside him.
Hes extremely territorial when it comes to things that are his, if he feels threatened then he will let you know, whether by harsh words that he knows will cut you, or simply by slamming the door on your face. If provoked enough, he will push back and ultimately that will lead to physical violence. Though he will either, remember exactly what happened until you apologize, or completely forget it by the next day.
While he may seem a little rough around the edges, looks aren’t all they seem. He genuinely likes people as a whole. If he likes a person enough, he will sit and listen and attempt to help in any way he can. Even if that means just giving them something pretty to look at(himself) or taking them out for ice cream, whatever it takes to get them to smile. He works twice as hard if there is a pretty girl involved.
Overall Leolyn sees himself as a nice guy with money to do whatever he wants. He tries to focus, but if it doesn’t interest him, it isn’t happening. He comes off as a bit bipolar, but it makes him interesting. He’s fascinated by people and how they act with one another, so will watch them endlessly, but that doesn’t mean he lacks social skills. He is confident, cocky, and curious.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By: Matt Bomer
Appearance:Leolyn, your classic pretty boy. He’s got super soft slightly wavy black hair that occasionally gets in the way of his blue eyes. His blue eyes are striking in a way that makes you pause and stare at them, even if only for a minute, but usually longer than that. Their bright color may be due to his transformation to a cat, because of that he can only really see purples, blues, greens, and yellows. While he can see these colors, they aren’t as vibrant to him as most see them. Also due to his cat senses, he has the ability to see in the dark really well.
In human form, he’s always a bit scruffly, but in a way that makes him more attractive, but anything more then five o’clock shadow doesn’t sit well with his facial structure. He has rather feminine cheekbones, and a strong chin. He is rather athletic and it shows, in the way he moves. He’s got this feline grace when he walks, that is firm, strong, and proud.
If he was to take off his shirt, you would see that he has a light tan, and killer abs.He stands at a tall five foot eleven and a half inches and weights roughly one hundred and ninety pounds.
His shifted form is of a domestic tabby cat. He’s slender but muscular, weighing in at nine and a half pounds. From head to the tip of his tail he’s nineteen inches long, ten of that is the length of his tail. His belly is white as is his nose, jaw, and front paws. His coat is a dark sandy color that has black and grey stripes sprinkled throughout. The most noticeable stripes are the dark wave like ones that go from the corner of his intense blue eyes, to the sides of his face.
Leolyn prides himself in his appearance and always looks and smells clean. He tries to use low sent anti-persperant/deodorant, not just for the sake of others, but for his sensitive nose as well. He’s got striking blue eyes, that help him see in the dark, but make him slightly color blind. Pair that with his dark slightly wavy hair and muscles of awesome. He’s tall, lean, muscular and an over all pretty boy. In tabby cat form, he’s over all pretty average, except for those piercing blue eyes that tend to take part of your soul when he looks at you. That’s Leolyn Starr, appearance wise, in a nut shell.
...history
Parents:William and Jamie Starr, Divorced
Siblings:None
Leolyn Jade Starr was born to parents William and Jamie Starr on March, 22nd, 1992, in Hollywood California. There were zero complications, labor was quick, easy efficient, and of course, right on time. Jamie was allowed to leave the hospital a day after giving birth. No problem, of course. The father wasn’t present for any of it, however, that was not a new change. The marriage of the busy starlet and the genius doctor had begun to sour, the baby a way to try and change that. So Mrs.Starr stayed home for a month, fights were constant.
”I can’t be home all the time, and still keep things going. The hospital needs me Jamie.”
“There are other doctors.”
“None of them me.”
“What about /our/ baby?”
“You seem to be handling him fine.”
“I haven’t slept in two days.”
“So sleep, it isn’t that hard.”
So he cried, and his mother rushed to the rescue, his father left home, back to work. It remained that way until he was about nine and he began passing messages back and forth, like ‘don’t forget to pay the phones,’ or ‘what is for dinner’, or worse messages. Every simple conversation passed through him, even if he didn’t know what all the words meant. Sometimes though, he could hear his father play the piano, and his mother laugh.
He tried to keep them from fighting as much as he could, still trying to gain approval, in various forms, a smile from his mother, his father ruffling his hair.
He was home schooled, by a lovely lady named Rose, a friend of his grandmother on his father's side. She had hair the color of the flower she was named from and eyes the color of emeralds. She taught him English, and math.
”Good Afternoon, Leolyn.”
“Afternoon Rose!”
“Time to learn, come here and sit down.”
“But...Mom and Da are yelling again.”
“Yes, I know..You still need to keep up with your studies.”
“But why? Why do they yell at each other?”
“Because, you’ll learn when you’re older. For now you need to learn english and math. ”
“Do all kids learn English and Math?”
"Yes, Leolyn."
“Did Gramma?”
“Of course. In a few years Gramma is going to teach you something special, I promise.”
“Really?”
That promise was never kept, two years later the only person who could teach him disappeared from his life.
”Da? What’s wrong with Gramma?”
“She’s dead.”
“Dead?”
“Yes, no longer able to live and breathe and interact. She has passed on, though I did what I could.”
It was not long after that, his parents split. For a year he bounced back and forth. This weekend was dads, then it was mom, then dad’s..It was impossible for him to keep up. He was still home schooled, still as curious as to why things happened the way they did.
”Look, I wouldn’t call but it is important. There is something wrong with Leolyn.”
“How old his he now?”
“Almost twelve.”
“Son of a bitch. Look, lock him in a closet till I get there.”
“A closet? Are you out of your mind?”
“Would you rather be killed?”
“Is that a threat?”
“Fuck, Jamie just do it alright? I’ll take care of it.” “Fine.”
And thus started the worst day of his life. He was roughly pulled inside and shoved in his mother’s closet, door clicking with a lock. He begged to be let out, cried, bargained and then it hit him. His stomach shifted and he panicked. Banging on the door, turning violent in a heart beat. He could feel his veins shifting, muscles bending, bones popping. None of it was pleasant. Thankfully he hadn't eaten lunch or he might have lost that too.
No one came for him, even though he cried. Begging for his mother and his father to please let him out, that he would be a good boy, that he wouldn’t do it again. It wasn't until he woke up the next day, naked did someone come for him.
“Miss Rose! They...They locked me in a closet and I was scared and something happened and everything is all weird now! And I don’t like it.”
“Hush my dear, it’ll be alright.”
“Can...Can I come live with you?”
“Yes.”
It wasn't a hard battle, in court to win, but not one Rose ever said a word about. Both parents were to give a portion of their salaries to her, in payment of taking care of their child, which she put away, along with the money that his Grandmother left her for him.
Instead of teaching him about English and math, she taught him about how his Grandma was a shifter too and that when he was a bit older he could go to this special school, but he would have to start going to a normal school until then. She encouraged his abilities, his shifting, his curiosity.
Years went by and he called her house his home, the home he never got. Right around his eighteenth birthday, he had to go to her funeral. The last home he got was gone, but he was determined to find out a way to keep living, so he went to the shifter school, which was just about as far away from his parents as he could get, with a promise to never go back.

RP SampleShe rolled over, sighing slightly. It took the raven haired girl a long moment to realize that something was missing. There was a flash of panic before she noticed the note, scrawled in, now familiar royal handwriting, laying on her desk with some bright gold coins.
'Taliesin, I had something urgent to take care of back at home. Boring royal stuff, like signing papers. Be back in a day or so. You won't even miss me. Also don't forget to restock when you hit land. -Cadeyrn.'
She smiled lightly. Well if he was going to play it that way she was going to have to get back at him. She dressed in her normal garb, white-ish poet shirt, her jacket, boots. Her pair of pistols with her family crest inscribed in the side, hanging in the belt at her hips. She sauntered on deck, shouting commands to her crew, saying that she was going to restock.
The place that she had landed, was mostly familiar. She had been here a few times, to restock before. It was a mostly reputable place, unless you knew where to look. Most of the time she hid the fact that she was a princess from a place that got destroyed, but seeing as the high clan, her parents, had helped keep this country on it's feet, it meant extra perks.
The country its self, was the closest to balance between high-tech and high-magic, looking something like New York, if New York was cleaner and less smoggy.
She walked through a couple of streets and then down a back alley and down some stairs.
"Speak of the devil and she shall appear." The male that spoke the words had dark brown hair and skin the color of coffee, if you added cream to it. He Had more scars then you could count, and that was just on the parts of him that were visible. He had a backwards black cap, a white wife beater and jeans. The most interesting feature was his blue-green eyes that had that sheen of, I'd like to see you catch me doing something I'm not supposed to be.
"You were not speaking of me."
"Could have been."
"Not this time."
"Says who?"
"Me."
"You have no proof."
"If you had been speaking of me, then you wouldn't have said you had been speaking of me, and because you said you did, you weren't."
"Um...So here for business?"
"Indeed. I need to see your crossbows, Jael."
"Not your usual. Deciding to give up the pirating life?"
"No, this is a gift."
"Taliesin, giving gifts? That is it, the world is ending!"
"Oh, don't be so dramatic."
"Drama--"
"I'll..Kill..You."
"Now who is being the dramatic one? This way."
The male lead the way to a back room, guns becoming less and less legal as the hallway went on. He took a turn and opened the door, room filled with miscellaneous crossbow objects, ranging from the crossbows themselves,to bolts, to spare strings. "I also need the usual, Jael."
"Ah, so this isn't just a gift run."
She gave him a pointed look.
"Alright, I'll let you be with the pretties, but if you take /any/--"
"JAEL. I'm a pirate, but not dishonest."
"Okay, leaving."
It didn't take the girl long to choose a crossbow. It was black and silver, with an auto reload feature. Large enough to take down serious foe, but not too big to be impractical. He could duel wield it with her's. She grabbed one of the fancy bolts, silver with a diamond tip. It was going to be expensive, all together, but she was determined to pay for it with her own money. She had been saving for a while, and just waiting for the opportunity to actually get him something.
She loaded it with the fancy bolt and took aim. Hopefully he'd like it. She retraced her steps and placed it on the counter in front of the boy.
"Of course you have to choose the most expensive one that is probably out of your price range and if I don't let you have it..."He trailed off with a sigh.
"Look, Jael..How much is it going to be?"
"Taliesin..."
"I'll pay for it with any means possible. Here is the money for the usual stuff. How much is it going to cost me?"
"Are you actually begging?"
"...No?"
"Okay..Talie its going to be three times the 'usual stuff'"
She dumped out what she had. It was about half of it. "I've got half. I can owe you. It would mean so much. And I've always come to you. And I..."
"Taliesin, don't. I can't go with half. This can fetch a pretty penny for people who have it. I can't just give it to you."
She sighed, chewing on her lip. "Okay here. I give you this...As collateral." She pulled the brightly gemed ring off of her finger and placed it on the counter. "My dad gave it to me when i was little. It's all real. So you keep that and then I owe you a favor and the rest of your money. You let me take the crossbow and the usual. Deal?"
The male examined the ring carefully and looked up at the girl. "Deal. But you owe me, hard core Taliesin."
The girl smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "I'll take these now and you can deliver the rest to my ship, I'm in the usual place."
"You owe me, Talie."
"I know, I'll pay you back. Promise."
'Cadeyrn, this cost me more then I would have liked, so you better like it. -Taliesin.'
