...basic character information
Birth Name: Anthony Lawson Cooper
Nickname
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Grade: 11
Birth date: October 31st
Program: Bachelor of Arts
Major: Culinary
Major Explanation: Anthony has always had an.. interesting taste for food. Fatty foods from McDonalds or Burger King or anything of the like always upset his stomach; something about processed food he supposed, and so at an early age he began making his own unique dishes. Complimentary from his animal half, he chooses to incorporate more berries, fish, and foul in his experimental dishes rather than the processed beef at other so called 'restaurants'. Not to say he won't enjoy a steak or a burger here and there, but both his shift and his human side lean more towards an organic-like taste. If only he could add bamboo to his dishes!
Animal Identity: Red Panda
...personality
Likes:(at least 10)
- The Dark: Tony is both a nocturnal and a crepuscular creature, meaning he's most active at night, dawn, and dusk. Unless it's mandatory he get up (such as for school) during the day, he'll happily sleep in until early evening most days. Not a morning person at all.
- Sleeping In: As afore mentioned, he's not a morning person, and usually wont rouse from his bed (on a weekend) until around 12:00pm or 1:00pm, unless he sets an alarm off.
- Heights: Red pandas are excellent climbers, and he won't pass up an opportunity to skitter up a tree or find his way to the roof of the school to get a scope of the land.
- Fruit: Find him some blueberries, and he'll do a black flip for them them. The boy's nuts for 'em.
- Down Time: Although he adores hanging out and chilling with his friends, Anthony's other half is a creature built for solitude. So every now and then, he'll creep off from those he knows, shut off his phone, and just go off on his own.
- Cooking: Well, obviously! Cooking is most certainly his passion, and he's determined to get his unique taste for food out there in the world and make a difference. Especially if someone else enjoys the same food as he does.
- Clothes: He's developed an appreciation for clothes as well, always daring to go out and find the latest fab. If nothing suits his interests, Tony's not afraid of mix-matching items to make his own 'look'.
- Partying: Every once in a rare while, his more social side demands to shine through, and the urge to party or dance becomes unbearable. Rather than try to understand it, Tony just goes with the flow.
- The Piano: The boy's no bach, but damn can he play.
- Secrets: Who doesn't? A natural listener, he's always willing to lend an ear to all the juicy gossip spreading around, but he's not likely to tell.
- Boys: He's not obnoxiously outward about it, but Anthony does happen to be bi; more so leaning towards the guy aspect of the deal. His need for occasional solitude, though, keeps him from getting too close to anyone which bums him out sometimes.
- Snow/Cold: <3
Dislikes: (at least 10)
- Rude Awakenings: There better be a pretty good excuse for waking this student up prior to his 12:00pm or 1:00pm routine. The shift may be a small animal, but his temper isn't.
- Flakes: Be yourself or don't be anyone at all in his book. 'Nuff said.
- Stereotypes: Honestly, it's a new day and age. Get over it, yourself, and move on.
- Heat: Red pandas have problems dealing with high temperatures of heat, and will often get lazy and just lay in a tree or somewhere cool. He looses his train of thoughts, can't focus, and generally feels like sleeping in the heat.
- Stupidity: And all it's various forms. Ignorance, immaturity, etc.
- Ruined Dishes: Tony is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to cooking or baking, and if the dish doesn't come out to meet his standards, or exceed them, sulking is bound to happen.
- Liars: No one likes a liar. Although, on the flip side he can appreciate a well thought-out lie; he's pretty good himself, considering his naturally sneaky personality. He doesn't like this part of himself, but it can't be helped.
- Hypocrites: Even though he can kind of be one himself.
- Pork: Ew, ew, and ew again. Beef is alright, chicken or any sort of bird is delicious, but pork and lamb are a whole different story. He won't touch the stuff.
- Bright Light: His 'panda eyes are sensitive to light, which is why they adjust so well for the dark. Any sudden bursts of bright light at him, or glances to the sun, are extremely painful. Which is why he resorts to wearing sunglasses when possible during the summer, when the sun is the hottest.
Fears: (At least 3)
- Death: More specifically, being eaten by predators larger than him in his animal form. No one would know what happened to him if he died that way, and it would be as if he was completely erased from the face of the earth.
- Losing his Touch: Any true chef's worst fear -- losing the art of cooking and baking.
- Being Himself: Part of his reason for pushing others away has to do with his inner fear of people accepting him for who he is, and the fact that even he doesn't know who he is 100% yet.
Strengths: (At least 3)
- Stealthy
- Trustworthy
- Independence
Weaknesses: (At least 3)
- Pushing People Away: He can't help his need to just 'get away from it all' at times, and hibernate away from his friends. But, it doesn't mean he likes it. Tony finds it hard to honestly connect with other people and put his whole trust into them. He does try, though, but just needs help getting there.
- Lying: It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, he tends to hate himself for it due to it happening on impulse.
- Sensitive: Tony won't admit it, but he is sensitive. Find the right buttons to push and it'll upset him easily.
- Territorial: Both with his stuff, and his friends. He tends to be a little over protective sometimes. Okay, all the time.
- Bright Light: It instantly hurts and momentarily stuns him the minute he sees it, and leaves a terrible headache. The effects aren't everlasting, but, still, it hurts enough for it to be noticed.
Overall: [400 words minimum]
Aside from occasionally giving people the vibe that he's 'cocky' and a smart alec, he's actually quite sensitive and friendly once that thin shell barrier is broken. He has some problems believing in himself sometimes, but easily covers this up with false assurance. Which can either be achieved by lying to himself or to others. Pain of any sort (aside from death) doesn't scare him so much, which might also be a factor to him not really connecting with other people so well. He does have friends, though, and isn't your common 'sad little boy with no one to sit with at lunch'. In fact, he's not much sad at all. Just confused on where he fits in with the world.
Once people get past his initial barriers, they can find him to be quite bubbly and chipper when he's around those he's comfortable with. It's not hard to become a friend of his, really, but 'close' friends or best friends are hard and few to come by. Tony yearns for someone he can depend on, but is afraid to take the chance of exposing himself like that; having someone (or a couple someones) know all there is to know about him. One of these days he'll get over this odd phobia, but so far no such luck.
Not so much the 'thinker' of a group, Anthony would much rather just go out and execute the plan and be the 'do-er'. Especially if has to do with swiping things, finding out information, snooping, etc. He doesn't particularly like stealing things for others, and refrains from doing it as much as possible, but that natural sneaky tendency is hard to ignore when it comes a'knockin. Overall, he's a good guy and only has the best intentions in mind. Just... confused. One thing he loves, though, is cooking for others. If they like also happen to enjoy one of his specialty dishes (anything with fish, berries, or chicken) he'll immediately latch right onto them and cherish their (what he calls) high level in taste.
When it comes to people he doesn't like, Tony's more likely to just ignore and avoid than confront. Unless, of course, they do something to egg him on or coax him out of his usually calm and merry self. The boy won't hesitate from telling any body off, but if it starts looking like a fist fight, clever words and lies typically turn into his first line of defense to get out of the situation. As afore mentioned, though, not all fights have been avoidable, but he's not afraid of physical pain. It's just not his cup of tea to wake up to the next day, is all.
...appearance

Celebrity Play By: Alex Evans
Appearance: [400 words minimum]
So, Tony. At a glance, the most noticeable thing about him would probably be his height. Pressing close to six feet inches even, Anthony caps off at around five feet eleven inches; but hey, he's still a growing boy! He's none too lanky, though, or particularly 'skinny'. Tony has some meat on his bones, sculpted into a pretty impressive build of soft muscle outlines, hinting to a tone. Anthony is not, by any means, buff. Nor does he aim to ever be. He's not particularly jacked either, but the boy isn't a puny little weakling. More than capable of holding his own during a fight. He strays away from violence, though, leaning more towards sweet talking his way out of the situation. With the mouth he has on him sometimes, though, a fight has been inevitable on occasion... He isn't sure so much on his weight, but it more or less leans around the 135-140 pound mark, but the exact number is unknown. Due to his low calorie intake, it's assumed to be towards the lower end.
His hair color tends to change as he sees fit. One day he'll have it dyed black, and the next he might change it to a mousy brown. Why? He likes variety, and it's his hair so he'll do what he pleases to it. Sometimes he'll tease it a little in the back and gel it, other times he'll keep it nice and combed straight. Every now and then he'll straighten parts of his hair if there's a certain look he's going for, but he won't openly admit this either. It's long-ish, reaching down to his ears and frames his face in almost a bowl-like shape. Tony hates combing his hair backwards, and thus keeps the flow coming forward. On his bottom lip, he sports a pair of of snake bite piercings. Some days they'll be matching colors, but more often than not he'll keep them alternating black and gray. Or a blue of some kind, considering it's his favorite color.
Eyes are a bright, icy aqua and are pretty wide and round. When he was born, his parents thought the baby was blind considering the rarity of the color. Needless to say, his vision is just fine unless there's a beam of obnoxious bright light shining his way. There honestly isn't an easy way for one to describe Anthony's sense of style; pretty much it's whatever he decides to wear for that day and what his mood is. This can range from wearing a bright variety of colors, to dark, droopy shades. Jeans or shorts, doesn't matter to him. So long as he likes it, that's all that concerns him, since.. after all, he's the only one who has to wear 'em!
Tony's red panda side is, undeniably, adorable. His main body coat is a rusty reddish-orange, hence the 'red' panda aspect. His furry face somewhat resembles a combination between a fox and a raccoon, but he'll openly deny both claims. White streaks fleck across his cheeks with the red color leaving stripes from his eyes to his chin. Limbs are all engulfed in a smokey black, while his tail is striped much like a chesire cat. Ears are a white and his nose and eyes both form into a black. Anthony isn't too much bigger than your average house cat or a small fox, with the exception of his 'opposable thumbs' on either forelimb; common for tree climbers.
...history
Parents:Lily & Dave Cooper
Siblings:Stephen Cooper
[400 words minimum]
Family has always been important to Anthony; these being probably the only people he ever allowed himself to get close to for obvious reasons. His mother was always the nurturing sort, preferring to care for others before herself. His father, Dave, wasn't too bad of a fellow considering other house holds he knew. He, too, was caring and considerate. But firm in all the areas he had to be in. Even at a young age, Tony started picking up on his cooking hobbies thanks to the help of his slightly older brother, Stephen. If ever there was a person he looked up to the most, it was him. Stephen wasn't much into cooking as a serious gig, but as a hobby, the boy was fierce behind a stove! Tony used to come home from school, dashing off of the bus to see just what snack his bother had whipped up for him.
Even when Tony kind of 'came out' of the closet so to speak to his parents, confessing to them about his attraction towards both male and female (he left out the fact that he preferred guys to spare his father) they were more open about it that he had originally thought. Fellow bi's and gays that he knew as friends had had a rougher time, and all he'd gotten was a nod from his father, and a comforting pat from his mother and life had gone on. Deep down, Tony knew that his dad more or less saw it as a 'phase' that he thought his son would over come in due time, and so, chose to simply ignore the whole ordeal. Leading Tony to completely despise ignorance in all shapes and forms. Including denial.
None the less, Anthony had kept the truth from his brother whom he looked up to so much, fearful that it might ruin their close relationship. The shifting gene had managed to carry through only on his mother's side, leaving Anthony unsure if his brother possessed the ability himself. She'd been very open with him from the beginning about the gene since he was a little boy, having scented the animal brewing inside of him. So when the change finally had happened, Tony was a lot less surprised than he thought he'd be. Unfortunate for the UPS delivery man that day, though, who had suffered a 'sudden heart attack' and ran his truck into the lake, he prefers not to discuss the happenings of that day leaving it in the past. Where it belonged. To escape suspicion from her husband, Lily had told him she was sending Anthony off to a culinary school over sea's to further delve into his natural abilities. Well, Anthony was going to school for his natural abilities alright, but it wasn't for his cooking! His father unsuspecting, Lily had safely managed to send her youngest son off to the school without raising any alarm.

[One Paragraph Minimum (Can be point form)]
- Red pandas are natural sneaks, much like raccoons -- as is he when it comes to snooping, swiping things, and overall finding out information inconspicuously.
- They are also solitary creatures, and only reach out to others when finding a mate. Tony isn't so obsessed with finding 'that person' but when he isn't enjoying time with his friends, he does tend to flip to a more anti-social side every now and then to accommodate this need. Be it willingly or not.
- 'Pandas are also dark creatures, prone to being more active at night, dawn, and dusk. Sure, he could have been a bat, but bats aren't sneaky, nor are they solitary.

Yes, victory! Heidi couldn't get enough of the feeling as she sat there in the grass patiently, chest heaving in and out while that salmon pink tongue dangled out the right side of her muzzle. Thoughts of drinks at the restaurant on the island buzzed through the girl's mind, Shirley Temple sticking out the most. Maybe a virgin Daiquiri instead though? Hrm.. decisions decisions. Eyes lowered momentarily to the soggy clothes on the grass, running her tongue distastefully against the pallet of her mouth as she tried to ignore the taste of pond. It wasn't easy, that much was for sure. Not that the sudden breeze that had picked up was helping the cause any, blowing the scent even more towards her sensitive snout. She blinked a few times as this thought registered. A breeze?
Chin tilted upwards as she peered at the sky, squinting at the thick, looming black clouds that were approaching. Positively rotund with the rain they were threatening to let loose. What...? Where had that come from? And that not so little breeze started to pick up even more now, she noticed, as the greedy hands of the wind was snatching her white and black pelt roughly and toying with it as it pleased. Anxiety started to pick up in her chest as eyes widened, noticing that the sky was getting darker as well. Heidi quickly looked around the area that she was sitting on, standing on her feet and starting to shiver slightly from the chilly wind. Most other students were noticing the change in weather, too, and were leaping up and making their way to the school in a hurry.
A high pitched whine vibrated her vocal chords as she anxiously looked back down the path, waiting for Luke to catch up. No way was she leaving him out here alone in.. whatever freak storm this was. Even though she was sure he'd be able to take care of himself, Heidi was dead set against just abandoning him all the same. Before she had too much time to start worrying, the feline had dashed past her in a flurry of gold and black, leaving her only seconds to bend over, retrieve her stuff, and turn tail after him. Oh sure, now he had all the speed in the world to spare! Scrambling after him, the first signs of the rain storm to come started drizzling down on top of the campus and them, big cold globs smacking her body and sending a shiver down her spine.
Hadn't she gotten wet enough today as it was?
Heidi hadn't had much time to wonder how they were going to get into the dorms, considering that was the building they were running to, due to a random student coming to answer her prayers as he'd ripped the door open and took cover. Following in close after the fluffy tail in front of her, she managed not to have the door hit her as it swung back, submitting to the force and will of the wind. Nails clicked against the tiled floor as she followed Luke down the hall, and up a couple of flights of stairs. Judging by the fact that he hadn't taken the next flight up, she figured they were headed to his room first. It was all the same to Heidi, so long as she was inside and not alone.
Her pace slowed as they neared a certain door, eyes darting up curiously to see what room number it was. 106? A random number to her, but, so was 210, she supposed, and so the collie sat as she waited for Luke to figure out a way to get himself inside. She arched her brow as a coy, canine-like smile spread around the clothes in her mouth as if to say Okay, what now genius? Until, that is, he shot her a glance. Blinking, her head cocked to the side as she tried to figure out what exactly he meant. The minute the first patch of human skin started to grow in, though, she got the message and whirled around quickly and listened as she heard the door click open. Inside, she could detect him ruffling through his clothes and grabbing something quick to get into. Sitting out there in the hall alone, though, with the howling wind outside only fueled the panic rising in her chest.
It was dark outside, not that she could see it, but she could feel it. It was a wonder Heidi wasn't afraid of falling asleep, since she had to be in a dark room for that to happen. Storms were a whole different matter, though, and it sent more involuntary shivers down her spine. Not too long had passed before she heard the familiar voice coming behind her, not bothering to look and see who it was. "Lead the way to your room." came the tone, and Heidi didn't hesitate to run off in the direction of the stairs.
The medium sized dog skid around the corner of the staircase, thoroughly panting at this point as exhaustion reached her body at last. Landing on the floor she needed to be on with a tired 'thud', she slowed to a trot and whined at room 210 once they'd reach there, involuntarily. Figuring Luke would take the hint and open the door for her rather than have her shift right there and have to do it herself, the collie would wait before pitter-pattering inside of the dorm eagerly. The shift happened almost the second her tail made it inside of the room, that being the first thing to go. Her bones stretched somewhat painfully back to their original state, with the thankful addition of a pair of thumbs on her hands. Her spine crackled and curled upwards as it dragged her onto her back legs noisily, the fur literally vanishing with the presence of her more puny human skin.
She didn't bother waiting for the transformation to complete before kneeling before one of her suitcases and unzipping it as her ears shrank back to their non-fluffy, less adorable size. She yanked out a pair of pajama pants, figuring she might as well get comfy if they were going to be roughing the freak storm going on outside. The building quivered ever so slightly as the wind and pounding rain seemed to repeatedly punch it over and over, making her search for the rest of her clothes all the faster. Her face had resumed it's previous state and the same could be said for her hair as she pulled the final shirt garment over her head. Slipping on a pair of flipflops, Heidi ran back towards the door, fully human at this point, and sore all over from their run while she looked at Luke.
"I don't know if this school has a.. storm room or something when it gets this bad, but we could hang in here or back at your place if you want. Or somewhere else?" Voice was smaller, much more timid than it had been earlier that day. Storms were not a favorite of hers, at all. Heidi tried to swallow down as much of the fear as she could, hating how vulnerable she felt in this weather. What she'd hate more, though, would be if Luke decided to just part ways for the night. Had this been under normal circumstances and the possibility of her blowing away in the dark wind wasn't present, she wouldn't have minded. Sure, they could catch up later. But fact of the matter was, no one was in her room. She'd have no one to distract her from the storm. Or the dark, for that matter. Heidi stood there in the door none the less, waiting for Luke's response.
It was going to be one hell of a long night if he decided to part ways. Actually, it was looking to be that way anyways. Luke or no Luke.
