- Selah was following Skii to the dorms. The sky looked strange to Selah, but she didn’t say anything. Maybe it was just a small rain storm coming. And, sure enough, it began to rain. Only it wasn’t a small storm. The wind was pretty strong and blew the top of the trees around them. Selah remembered she had to go get her bag from where she hid it behind a tree. She tapped Skii’s shoulder, and pointed to the direction the tree was. Selah wasn’t sure if Skii was following, but she was walking to where her bag was. She walked toward a group of trees that looked like where she put her bag. She kept staring at the sky, something didn’t seem right about the color of it. It was kind of yellow-ish, and it was eerie. Selah had never lived by an ocean before, or visited one…so she passed it off as just some type of oceanic storm. She walked up to the trees and looked around, her bag wasn’t there. But then she remembered that she had put her bag by the Gym, since that was where her first stop was. Selah headed in that direction and she motioned for Skii to follow her. She walked up to another group of trees, right next to the gym entrance. Needless to say, her bag was behind those trees. She bent over to pick it up; one foot was rising into the air as she did that. She picked it up with one hand, swung it over her shoulder, stood up straight and walked back toward the dormitories. Whether Skii had followed her or not, Selah wasn’t sure, but she was following Skii to where the dorms were. “Excuse me, where is my dorm? My name is Selah Belle Madison…?” Selah said to a person at the desk in the main office that Skii had taken her to. The person didn’t answer her, but Selah ignored their rudeness. Then, she saw a bulletin board with a big, obvious sign that said ASSIGNED DORMS. Selah now understood why the person at the desk hadn’t answered. She walked over to the bulletin board, with her bag still slung over her shoulder. She put her finger on the top of the list, and moved it with each name she read. At last, she saw her name. Room 209-Skii Rose Reeve, Selah Belle Madison, Ebony Aria Rider. Selah didn’t know who the Ebony girl was, but she was glad she knew at least one of her room mates. “Hey, Skii, we’re room mates,” Selah smiled and turned to face Skii. - "Hey lets go to our room I really want to change." Selah nodded, still freaked out by the storm, but followed Skii down the hall in the direction of the girl’s dorms. They could hear the wind and the rain beating on the roof of the building. It was as if all the escaped souls from hell decided to break loose for one last rendezvous. Selah shivered as she thought of how flooded the school yard would be, and how wet everything would be after the stupid storm was over. She couldn’t help but try to think of the last time she had seen a storm that sounded as bad as this one…and she couldn’t think of a single storm that was like this one. Selah took the key Skii offered, she twirled it in her hand. She had never had a key of her own before…she had never had anything that needed to be locked. She followed Skii down the hall, and read the room numbers as they passed them. 200, 202, 204, 206, 208, 210 Selah looked across the hall from 210, 209. She smiled, anxious to see her new home. She slowly reached for the lock on the doorknob, making sure the key wasn’t upside down. She pushed the key to the lock, but didn’t hit the opening completely, and dropped the key. She blushed as she thought of how stupid she looked, but bent and got the key off of the ground. She put the key into the lock, heard a satisfying click and opened the door. She walked in, flicked on the light, and looked at her new home. It was bare, to say the least. White walls, a few holes where nails had been at one point in time, some stains on the ceiling from who knows what. Three blank beds, each with white sheets, white pillows (2 on each bed), and white blankets. The floor…wasn’t white, but was a blue-ish shade and was carpet (like what’s found in normal school classrooms). There was a closet, it was semi-walk-in (the kind without a door), it had a switch to turn on the light just on the outside of it. There was also a shut door, which, Selah guessed, led to a bathroom. Selah walked in, slipped off her shoes, and set them by the door. She ran her fingers through her hair, taking it all in. Her new home…was utterly dull. She began to think of what she would put where, which bed she wanted, and how she should decorate the walls. She would have to ask Skii’s opinion on all of this, of course, but she liked to plan ahead. She thought of putting some of the pictures she took, and drew, on the wall by the bed she hoped would be hers. She wanted the bed that was to the right of the door, since the bed by the window was directly across from the door, and the other bed was close to the closet. She hoped she would get that bed…but if Skii wanted it, Selah would give it to her. “Do you mind if I take this bed?” Selah asked Skii, setting her bag onto the bed she wanted. - Selah was glad that she got to get the bed she wanted. She plopped herself down next to her bag and let her back soak up the sweet comfort of the new bed. She slipped off her jacket and closed her eyes and smiled, happy to finally be in a bed. She stretched, yawned, and opened her eyes…just in time to see Skii changing. Selah shut her eyes, and almost blushed unaware of how un-shy Skii was. Selah wasn’t used to having to change around people or have people change around her…but, with Skii as a room mate she had to get used to it. Selah rolled over on her stomach and put her head on her now folded arms. She just wanted to go to sleep again. Her intentions were to do just that and she felt herself falling into dream land….when a giant boom of thunder made her shriek and jump so high she had to stand up. Some of the objects in the room were rattling from the powerful rumble of thunder, including Skii. Selah’s eyes immediately moved to where Skii was looking, the window. It was shaking in an unnatural way. Glass wasn’t supposed to be that flexible. The storm outside the shaking glass was even more unnerving. The wind seemed to be bending the trees sideways, the rain was drowning the world she knew…and the sky was so much darker than before. She hadn’t thought that was possible. The window was still shaking from the pressure of the wind and Selah began to wonder at exactly how safe they were inside the dorms. “Ummm, Selah, we might have a problem” Skii dragged her out of her worries and thoughts. She almost wanted to hit Skii. They definitely had a problem. Selah was just about to tell her that when another extremely loud rumble of thunder made the lights flicker, go out for a few seconds, but then they went back on. Sighing, Selah decided to dig through her bag to get her night clothes out. “Might? We definitely have a problem, Skii,” Selah couldn’t think of anything else to say, and the storm was making people get on her nerves a lot easier. She hoped she didn’t end up yelling at Skii. She grabbed her stuffed animal jaguar, something she had gotten just before she arrived at Shifter Academy, and set him on her bed. She also grabbed the first pajama shirt and shorts she found. She quickly slipped off the rest of her clothes and put on her PJs. She looked around noticed that some of Skii’s things were already out of her suitcase and Selah wondered how she had gotten an entire hamper to fit in her luggage. That thought distracted Selah only for a second before a flash of lightning light up the outside and Selah could have swore she saw someone outside in the rain. But then again…she was extremely tired. Pacing, Selah ran her fingers through her hair and tried to think of a way to make sure they were safe. She looked around the room, and began to pull on her mattress. She needed something to block the window in case it broke… As soon as she had the mattress half way off, the window shattered. Clink, clink, clink glass went flying everywhere around the room. Selah suddenly felt a sharp pain in her right knee and her upper left arm. She looked at them and saw deep slashes in each. She didn’t know what to say or do. She was completely stunned. Selah looked at Skii, hoping for an answer. “Might? We definitely have a problem, Skii,”
This is what Selah retorted back at her. Skii was already a little frazzled so she figured Selah was too. Instead of replying back with something cunning Skii went and gathered her writing bag back up and grabbed her bunny in the process. Skii could almost feel the storm coming in. Skii was terrified of water but storms were different. Storms were a force of nature that wrecked houses and killed people and animals.
Skii looked over to were Selah was again not knowing what to do she had changed and was now trying to take her mattress off her bed? Skii knitted her eye brows together thinking of what she was doing. Then another thought popped into her head…. She held Frisco to her face to keep from laughing out loud. Skii wasn’t the best at being social unless she was acting. She was usually found deep into her writing or her reading or memorizing her lines. She had very little practice dealing with real people. It wasn’t that she was shy. Skii hated shy people. Skii was just to involved in her work to notice others around her.
Anyways Skii stood with her stuffed bunny covering her mouth and her writing bag flung over her shoulder. She was putting together a scene in her head for a story. She loved taking moments from her life and putting it into stories. Skii almost sighed when the window burst, but not because of the window bursting and flinging it’s shards of very sharp and very pointy glass at her and Selah but because it took her mind off of her stories. Somehow they always brought her back to her father. Skii squeaked though instead of her sigh. Most of the glass flew towards Selah. Skii got small shards with little power put behind them. Skii felt the rain and wind come with the glass pieces and checked herself over. She was getting quite wet and she didn’t quite like it. She pulled a small glass piece from a bleeding spot in her arm and she had a few other gashes but over all Skii was fine. All of her stuff was being ruined though.
Skii moved through the room and zipped up all of her suite cases and made sure all of her scripts and play bills were in their designated plastic bags. Skii felt eyes on her though. She turned and saw the shocked Selah drilling holes into Skii’s skin. Blood mixed with rain flowed from Selah’s wounds. They turned into river and the mixture just kept coming. Blood and rain and wind. Skii could take her own blood. She had seen it so many times before. But Selah’s blood…. Was different. Skii put her hands on her head and felt her frizzing hair. The one thing she hated was bad hair. She took the anger and tried help make it productive but still nothing came to Skii’s mind that would help Selah.
“umm, Hun why don’t you just lay on the bed and I should have a first aid kit some where?”
Skii let her voice shake a little. She had no medical experience she hadn’t even played one in a production. Skii dug through her stuff and found some gauze pads and purple vet wrap. She smiled it was a trick she learned from her oldest sister. She had loved animals. She found this stuff that doesn’t stick to the skin but to its self. It was ingenious!
“Here um, Apply pressure to your wounds as I wrap them?”
Skii had no idea what she was doing. The rain was beginning to blur her vision and she had to keep wiping her eyes to see clearly. She gave Selah the gauze pads and then started to unwrap the vet wrap. Everything was soaked though. Skii prayed it would still work. All she knew was that she needed to stop the bleeding. Blood was never a good thing.notes- sorry for no pics I have a crappy computer for this Tag: Um Selah or Ebony.... Music: Episode of house Word count- only 680

Ebony was relieved when the ferry finally got to back to the school. After almost getting hit with an umbrella, it was good to be...home?
And it was home to Ebony, or at least as close to one as she would get. She sighed, and pulled up the hood of her jacket, the hurricane was still going on. Her hands automatically went to her backpack, and she pulled it on as soon as the boat docked.
She was off of the boat before the captain could even say a word. She didn't know where she was going, she just felt panicked, skittish, like she needed to find some place safe. Ebony still wasn't familiar with the layout of the school, though, so needless to say, she got lost.
Her backpack felt like it weighed two tons as she walked around, trying to at least find the dorms. She knew she didn't have much in it, though. She closed her eyes, trying to comfort herself as she thought of the stuffed animal in her backpack, comforting thoughts in a not so comforting storm. Pushing onward, Ebony walked until she found something that looked promising.
It was a big sign that said “ASSIGNED DORMS” and Ebony found her name quickly under 209, along with the names of two other people. She didn't know who they were, but this was her first year here, after all. She really just hoped they weren't seniors, wondering how close they were to her own age. Ebony wasn't the youngest at the school, not by a long shot, but compared to everybody else, she felt insignificant. Compared to those scary lion shifts, or the jaguars, and the leopards, what was a zebra shift? Just a piece of meat. Prey.
She shook that thought out of her head, and walked down the hallway of dorms, reading the numbers as she went. Her eyes finally caught her room, and she went in, and she didn't even really notice whether the door was open or not, just invited herself in, though she backed out and knocked after a second thought.
Her eyes scanned the room, taking it all in. It looked like two of the beds had already been claimed, so Ebony prepared to put her backpack down once the time was right.
There were two other girls in there, her room mates she assumed, and she cleared her throat lightly, asking, though she had to be louder than she liked because of the hurricane, “Is this room 209?”{Tag: Um, Selah? - Selah was waiting for Skii to look at her, for her to say something. The cuts in her knee and arm were pretty deep. She hoped she didn’t need stitches. “Umm, Hun, why don’t you just lay on the bed and I should have a first aid kit some where?”Selah sat on her bed, waiting for Skii to find a fist aid kit. To Selah, Skii had sounded a bit nervous. She hoped Skii had some medical experience…and then she saw her coming back with some gauze and some kind of odd looking medical tape. “Here, umm, apply pressure to your wounds as I wrap them?” Selah could definitely tell Skii was nervous, and she could also tell Skii had never wrapped anything, or done anything medical, before that moment. She shuddered impulsively as Skii handed her the gauze pads and started to unravel the tape. Selah took the gauze and pressed it onto her knee, because it seemed like the deepest cut out of the two. As the rain washed her blood farther and farther down her arm and leg, she began to see smaller scratches from the glass too. She hoped there weren’t any small pieces of glass caught inside the cuts. She put pressure on the gauze and waited for Skii to wrap it. She slightly cringed; not liking the pain the gash gave off when she put weight on it. She felt the wind and rain come in through the now open window. The water made her slightly panic. She loved storms. She really did love storms…it was just this storm. This storm was just…unnatural and twisted. She felt the wind grow stronger as it started to slightly moan. The wind moved her hair, making it float through the air. This wind wasn’t very light, and neither was the wind that had broken the window. She knew that this was only the beginning of the storm. And, soon enough, the rain got harder and faster. She was still holding gauze down, and she could feel the rain soaking through her clothes. She also felt the blood from her other small cuts running down her arms and legs, she bet she looked like a bloody mess. She wasn’t squeamish, but the thought of all that blood, her blood, running down her body made her feel sick to her stomach. She tried not to focus on it; instead she closed her eyes and pretended she was dancing to some amazing song. She imagined the song was purely instrumental, but was fast enough during some parts she didn’t have to just dance lyrical moves to it. She pretended that she was dancing to the song and she was dancing in front of millions of people. She was winning them over with her dancing, and they all loved her. She imagined that they threw roses at her, like they did in movies, and she could bow and curtsy and blow kisses. And they begged for more. So she gave them an encore. All in all, she was enjoying…no, she was loving the little world she created to get her mind off of the storm. “Is this room 209 ?” Selah’s eyes flew open, slightly agitated at the person who had ended her fantasy. She saw it was a girl, who was seemingly younger than her. The girl looked absolutely soaked. And maybe even slightly frightened? Selah’s eyes immediately scanned the girl. She couldn’t herself. She looked at the girl, analyzing every part of her. She saw the girl’s eyes, and was astonished. She loved them. They were just the right shade of blue that they popped out again her skin, and her hair color wasn’t that bad either. Selah stopped herself, not sure what had come over her. She guessed it was just the storm making her act weird. “Yeah, this is room 209. Are you….Ebony?” Selah remembered the other name that was on the list and cringed as thunder rumbled outside, and inside, their room. "Is this room 209"
Skii blinked, she saw a very wet girl stumble into the room. Skii almost laughed. She couldn't believe the girl was being so nonchalant about the monster storm hurling outside! Skii bit her lip to keep from being mean. She really needed to stop the blood that was still flowing from Selah's wounds.
“Yeah, this is room 209. Are you….Ebony?”
Selah's eyes flew open and she responded to the girl's ridiculous question. Skii sighed and rolled her eyes. This was crazy. Then thunder rumbled in the room. The storm was so close the sound of the thunder made Skii's core shake. Which made Skii squeak a little.
"Um, guys sorry to interrupt this bonding moment but there is a storm right outside and our window is broken. So, we might want to move our stuff and get out of here."
Skii sighed and looked at this new girl. She tucked her hair behind her ears then looked back over at Selah.
"Selah you need to stay still for the moment, though. I need to get something on these wounds. We really need to find some one to stitch them up too, before the blood coagulate. Otherwise you will have a worse scar and it will take way more time to heal..."
Skii worked fast putting on the bandages and stuff. She was worried about her writing bag getting wet. After she finished with Selah's leg and arm she smiled some. She wanted to laugh but the storm was making her stomach queasy which made her keep her mouth shut.
She smiled though because she had sounded so medical. She must of read what she had said somewhere before. Skii flew to her writing bag and wanted to write down what she had said. Though, she didn't open her bag she couldn't allow herself to open her bag. She would have ruined all her papers. The storm was getting worse if that was possible. The rain hit Skii's face and stung because the wind was blowing so fast and so hard.
Skii closed her eyes and wiped her face with her hand. It didn't help. The rain kept pelting her and started to make it hard to see because the rain was getting in her eyes blurring her vision.
"Can we please get out of here! It's so wet and I can barely see!"
Skii yelled the wind was blasting in her ears she could barely hear herself. She threw her bag over her shoulder with a small grunt and started towards the door. She stopped by where Selah sat and could see the blood was already making it's way through the bandages.
"You!" She pointed in the direction of the girl who had come in moments ago. "She might need help. Her knee was cut pretty bad!"Words- 495 music- oprah tag- ebony notes- I didn't know what to say??? There is this better???

Ebony jumped at the clash of thunder, then bit her lip. This storm was scary, but she didn't want to seem like she was a little kid or something...no, not a little kid. Just afraid. She was skittish, so was the zebra inside of her, but she tried to maintain a normal facial expression, as normal as she could look in a hurricane. She felt tears well up in her eyes, and blinked them back. This was no time to cry, even if she was terrified. She usually prided herself on her ability to keep in her tears, but it wasn't everyday now. Nothing was the same, her sister was dead, she was at some school where everyone could shift, and then there was the girl she had met back on the other island.
She nodded at the girl's question and said, “Yes, I am,” but she wasn't sure if the girl heard her, considering the other person in the room started talking.
“Um, guys, sorry to interrupt this bonding moment but there is a storm right outside and our window is broken. So, we might want to move our stuff and get out of here,” she said, and Ebony was a little startled to hear her voice; it was the type that commanded attention, and she wondered what her major was, what the other girl's major was, too. But that wasn't important right now. The girl continued with, “Selah, you need to stay still for the moment, though. I need to get something on these wounds. We really need to find some one to stitch them up too, before the blood coagulate. Otherwise you will have a worse scar and it will take way more time to heal...”
Ebony committed the name to memory, and wondered if the girl knew what the word coagulate was. She sounded like she was proud that she had even said that word, but Ebony was clueless to what it actually meant.
She was suddenly pelted with rain, and she became more soaked than she had been already. She didn't know what to say, didn't know what to do, zebras never had to face this in the wild! They leaved on the savannah. Biting her lip again, the girl spoke up, “Can we please get out of here! It's so wet and I can barely see!”
Like that's the most important thing, Ebony thought, and was surprised at herself. She didn't normally think like that, but the girl was at least kind of right.
“You! She might need help. Her knee was cut pretty bad!” the girl yelled at Ebony, and she fought the urge to jump again. She was being pointed at, she never liked that, but she wondered if she was right. She looked at Selah's knee, but she wasn't one to judge, so she decided to actually ask the girl whether she needed help.
“Do you need help?” Ebony yelled over the storm, looking the girl in the eyes, her own eyes wide and as blue as ever.[/blockquote] {Tag: Selah. Word count: 513. Clothes: I don't feel like posting the link.. Notes: Sorry if it's horrible, but at least it's done.}

- Selah saw Skii’s lips moving, and she saw Skii actually move…but she was too concentrated on her various cuts and scratches and the two major ones to actually be paying attention. She didn’t even hear Ebony’s reply. The one thing that snapped her focus on her injuries was when Skii said, “Can we please get out of here! It's so wet and I can barely see!” Selah didn’t want to leave. She didn’t know where to go. There was no where else to go. The storm was all around them, trapping them in the dorm building. She didn’t want to move. She didn’t want to go. So, instead. She didn’t move. She didn’t budge on inch. She sat, practically stone faced. Selah knew that this storm wasn’t going to let them out of that building. “You! She might need help. Her knee was cut pretty bad!” If there was one thing Selah hated more than anything was for people to help her. She was stubborn, and didn’t like to admit she was hurt. She turned toward Skii, who was now by the door, and gave her a dirty look. She didn’t know if Skii saw it or not, but Selah didn’t like to be anyone’s charity case. “Do you need help?” Selah could barely hear Ebony over the storm. But she had heard her, and Selah wanted both of them to know that she didn’t want help, didn’t need help, and would never need help. She was hard headed…though some people liked to call that stupid. Selah’s eyes turned green, as she got more and more frustrated. She hated her mood swings, she hadn’t had them in a while…but suddenly they were come back more and more since she came to this school. She wasn’t as angry as she had been that first night she had come, but she was getting really mad. And the storm seemed to help her temper rise faster than ever. The storm was making her angry, but also scared shitless. “No. I don’t need help,” Selah practically said through her teeth, but loud enough Skii and Ebony could hear, “and, you know, we shouldn’t leave this room. Where are we going to go? The rest of the rooms are probably in just as bad of shape as this one is. If we were going to do this logically we should stay here. I can move a mattress in front of the window and block out most of the wind and rain. Or, if one of you could find some ply wood, hammer, and nails lying around that would be better. But, since this isn’t a wood-working school I doubt there’s any of that anywhere around here.” Selah calmed down as she spoke, thinking of the safest things to do and how to do them. “Skii, if you would help Ebony get situated in our lovely new home, I should be able to manage getting her mattress in front of the window. I would use mine, but hers is already right in front of it,” she slowly got to her feet, ignoring the screaming pain from her knee when she put her weight on it. She ran her fingers through her hair, not wanting to get up…not wanting to really do anything. She sighed, and moved toward the bed, she tried to block out the storm, block out Ebony and Skii…she tried to block out everyone. She looked down at her knee, and noticed a blood stain slowly making it way through the gauze. She looked at her arm, and saw the same thing. The stain got bigger on her knee with the more pressure she put on it. But she didn’t want them to think she was weak…she didn’t want to be weak. Especially not in that storm. She was moving slowly, so slow she wasn’t even sure she was actually moving. That’s when the room began to spin, she was close enough to Ebony’s bed, she reached out for it to keep her balance. And then everything went black. [[ PJ’s! ;D Bag Word Count: 678 Tag: Skii Music: None justttttt the fans going on in my house OOC Notes: This hurricane is starting to kill my muse… ]]
