Serenity walked around, it was beautiful out, it truleywas, and she enjoyed the fresh air, she had been here a while, or at least a while in her terms. Actually, to her everything seemed like a while to her, as long as it exceeded three minutes it was than a while, how long was awhile now? Two days? A day and a half? Yeah, that's about right, now she was taking time to explore the grounds, a nice forest was here, at least she knew where she could go if she got angry or felt the urge to shift overwhelm her. She looked around, she hated, yet loved it here, it was just another chance to start over, because the first chance didn't go so well, and neither did the second chance, this was her third time to start, maybe she wouldn't screw herself over.
You hear that Serenity! Don't push me! I want to have a nice school year for once!"
Of course talking to herself seemed a little weired, telling herself to behave was weirder, unless you were her, or anyone else at the academy, than they would understand, especially if they had seen what she had down, she admited, she was not perfect, who was? But that anger that built up, that would burst out, and she'd become violent, she knew not to anger a horse, but who knew not to anger her? As far as she was concerned, she was doomed to a life of lonliness and isolation, but she knew it would never come to that, maybe she just needed anger management problems, she'd type if it were that easy, she failed when it came to technology, and it always would.
She sighed and looked up, was their a god, or was there nothing? Everything was once a thought, so if there was a god, who thought of him? She hated thinking, she always confused herself, which usually made her angry, her mother counted, her father, he didn't stop his shifting, so he couldn't give her advise, his advice was that it got easier after a while.
She wore blue jeans and a pink bikini top, it was noon, it was warm, and there was absolutely no class, which was nice, she loved summer breaks, over her pink biking top top was a light pink, almost white button up, long sleeved flower print shirt. She also wore a studded belt, however unnecassary it was, she knew she didn't need it, but it just went with the outfit, like hay and a horse. The saying fit her, she was a horse, and honestly, human or not, she loved hay, and grass, call her weird, but she would never starve in the winter. But much like her grass and hay, she liked salads and fruits and vegtables, but human or not, she hated meat.
Words: 470ish Notes: Her outfit is seen in the If you hate me I hate you Thing Lyrics: Evenascence, Innocence.

Hah! She could finally walk around without her shoes, and without people looking at her weird for doing so! Amy stopped in her walking, looking up as the sun danced across her face, the leave providing a nice screen. She probably should have put sun block on; but it was too late to worry about that now. She'd deal with the burn or whatever later, but for now she was out here to relax.
It was actually kind of funny. The academy was for shifters, but she rarely saw anyone out here. Maybe that was why she had been around here so many times? Yeah, that could be it. Even then, she didn't feel so... trapped out here. Feeling trapped was not a good thing, that was what started this whole mess. She frowned slightly, looking down at the ground. That day... she didn't like talking about that day. If she could, she would forget it, but it seemed like every moment was burned into her head. She remembered all of it, every gruesome detail. She shivered, closing her eyes and shaking her head slightly to rid herself of the details. She would have to get over that some day; today was not the day though. Today, she would be happy. Today, she was a student waiting for a new year at the academy.
She lifted her head, bound determined to not let that day shadow over this one. She forced a smile on her face as she continued weaving in and out of the trees; just taking in the day for all that is was worth. It had been years since she first wondered into this place with unease settling into her stomach. She had just gotten here, and had been rather overwhelmed by everything that had happened. This was a good place to escape. Now; now she knew this place very well.
Amy had slipped on a pair of knee-length jeans and some random band tee before more or less bolting out of her room. She had gotten sick of staying inside, heck; she hadn’t even bothered with shoes. It was so much easier to walk out in the forest without them, you could feel the ground. If she wasn’t so afraid of shifting, she would probably have jumped out of the building in bobcat form and just ran until she couldn’t run anymore. However, she was afraid of shifting, which was why she was taking the long way around.
She had been stuck inside most of the week, unpacking. She had way too many books; wait- no, there was no possible way to have too many books. It was fully and utterly possible to carry around too many books. For now, she just had one thick book her tightly in one hand as she balanced on tree roots and hopped from spot to spot. That was enough for this little adventure. After this, she would go get more ice cream. She was running seriously low, and she was not a happy person without her ice cream. She came to a stop on one tree root, freezing. She had heard something, or rather, someone. She tilted her head to the side, her hair falling in front of her eyes. She actually left her contacts back at her room; her eyes were their normal blue-gray. It was a random fact, but a fact nonetheless. Now; back to the sound.
She took a right, flitting between the trees as she followed what she thought was the voice. They had only spoken once, and she was never good at tracking, but she could guess, right? She turned around one tree to find a lone figure in the forest. Her smile widened slightly as she hopped out from behind the tree. Even though from what she could tell, the person was a bit off from her and probably hadn’t seen her, it was better to warn them before mauling them with greetings. Yeah, that wasn’t the brightest thing to do around here unless one wanted to be trampled, crushed, bitten, scratched, clawed, pecked, stung... oh, well, you got the idea. Sneaking up on others around here was not a good thing to do. ”Hello!” she called out, lifting her free hand up in a slight wave. ”What are you doing out here?” she asked, nearing the person.
Yes, Amy was walking up to what could be a complete stranger, talking in a tone as though they were old friends. She was just like that. She just hoped she had made enough noise not to cause the person to jump. That would be very, very bad. Normal Talking

Mischa knew that few people ran around in the forest during the day. She also knew that few people ever looked up. From that, she had deduced that the likelihood of being spotted where she sat in her favorite climbing tree was slim to none.
Clad in an over sized grey tee shirt with a black tank top and red plaid shorts peeking out from underneath it, Mischa looked very monkey-like today. Her skinny, long arms and legs were easily visible and the way she sat on the branch would make good evidence for any evolutionary biologist trying to prove our relation to chimpanzees. If Mischa were to tell you right now that her shift was a monkey, you would probably believe her.
But Mischa's shift wasn't a monkey; it was a ferret. Today she may look like a monkey, but no matter what, she always acted like a ferret. She was bouncy and happy and full of energy, and if ferrets had the arms and legs to climb up and swing around trees, they probably would. But they didn't, so they usually stuck to being bouncy.
Mischa really wished she had super powers, because at this moment, she saw a girl, Asian, and probably a year or two older than herself, walking around in the forest. Mischa felt mischievous (a word she loved partly because it shared so many letters with her name) and she so wanted to follow this girl and see where she was going. The super power she specifically wanted was to be able to jump into the next tree, but alas she was only human. Sort of. She was a shifter, which meant saying she was 'only human' wasn't entirely accurate.
Today, Mischa paid no attention to the grey scraggly lines in her vision that appeared on an invisible screen in front of her every time a gust of wind blew. She didn't even pay attention to the orange squares that appeared every time the girl stepped on a crunchy leaf or the other faint shapes and colors that came with the equally faint sounds. She was just curious about who this girl was. She wasn't someone Mischa recognized. Perhaps she was new?
You hear that Serenity! Don't push me! I want to have a nice school year for once! Suddenly, the girl spoke, and Mischa was pleased to note that her voice tasted like strawberries. Her name, it appeared, was Serenity. She seemed somewhat shy, and Mischa realized that jumping out of the tree might scare her. Nonetheless, she was curious, so she climbed further out onto the branch to see the girl...
Serenity looked up and quick as a flash, Mischa darted back further into the tree, hoping Serenity hadn't seen her. She waited for Serenity to look back down and once she did, Mischa climbed back out onto her sturdy branch. She didn't expect Serenity to look up. People usually didn't look up.
But there was something else coming that Mischa didn't expect. Or, to be precise, someone else. She could see the sound of their footsteps drawing closer... she could taste their voice... it tasted like...
Mischa fell out of the tree, landing on a grassy spot between where Serenity and Amy were.
"Vanilla ice cream..." she said, an odd smile on her face.Note: Mischa has synesthesia, meaning each person's voice has a taste and each sound has a color and shape.

Serenity had not been paying attention to her surroundings and she definately had not even been noticing who was around her, she would probably waste an hour to get back to the academy even though it wasn't that hard to figure out, she was smart, but not that smart, or maybe she was.
"Hello. What are you doing out here?"
She was startled by Amy, and she looked like a startled horse at first, she wanted to run and flee and she kind of backed up like she would be a horse. She took three deep breaths and sighed trying not to anger at why a person would not make it easier for one to be heard in a forest, she could not be angered and she needed to stay nice and calm.
"I am out walking and relaxing. What are you doing out here, do you not know, that sometimes startling people is not a smart idea? Who knows what type of people are lurking out about"
She looked around again, and than she sighed, she was startled once and she didn't want to be again, it wasn't good, she got angry when she was startled and it was never good to be angry, she could transform into a horse when she wanted too, but she couldn't transform back whhen she wanted too, and it was hard for her to stay in control when she was angry and she tried her hardest to keep it in control, but she couldn't, and it annoyed her.
She had been working on her anger control for years before she was even transforming, but something inside of her always pushed its way out forever, her parents, they were worried about her, but they told her to just except the fact that everything was different now. That she was a cruel horse that would never be able to control her anger, angered her, and she started working twice as hard, she could fight it now, but most of the time it still exploded, she knew she needed to be polite, but she couldn't be, it was just her.
"I'm sorry that was very rude of me, I know I shouldn't be like that but I ca-"
She screamed and fell over as the other girl fell out of the tree, she had tripped over another root as she had taken a step back and it caused her to trip, her worst nightmare, good thing she wasn't wearing a dress.

Amy gave an apologetic smile at the girl, reaching up to scratch the back of her head. ”Sorry, having stealth sometimes really isn’t the best thing, you know?” Her tone was joking, light, and maybe even happy. ”I always come out here, always have. It’s relaxing to walk out here and have some time to yourself.” She looked up at the girl, letting her hand drop to her side. She took care not to approach the girl; that was the second mistake newcomers made when first arriving here. Sometimes you could tell if someone shifted into a harmless animal, or a harmful animal... but that was usually not the case. In this case, she wouldn’t even try to guess. That always made things more interesting; not that the school was boring... ever. ”Sorry for startling you. I tried to let you know I was here, but...” She glanced down at her bare feet. It was indeed easier to be quiet without shoes to crash, smash, and kill everything in their path. She turned back to the girl, smiling. ”I’m Amy Gray, sophomore, and majoring in martial arts. Have you been here before?” She asked, tilting her head to the side once again.
Even with a smile on her face, and her happy note in her voice; she did not approach the stranger. In fact she stood as still as she could, so not to pose a threat to the girl. Plus, not everyone was nice here. If this girl proved to be one of those who were not friendly, Amy wanted plenty of room between her and them, so she could get away without any harm coming to her or them. No... she would not harm anyone else if she could allow it. Never, never again.
A shadow passed over her face before something crashing into the ground brought her out of her train of thought. She jumped, taking several steps back as her eyes locked on the thing that had fallen. Wait- that wasn’t something, it was someone. She blinked, forcing herself to relax as the girl spoke. Vanilla... ice cream? Amy blinked, and then glanced at them both in turn. The other girl seemed to have fallen from the surprise. Amy frowned, glancing again from one to the other. ”You both okay?” She asked, ignoring the temptation to help them both to their feet. ”Well, you can always say it is never boring here!” she exclaimed, laughing softly. Just like that her happy attitude flooded back, if anything, with slight tension hanging in her voice. Yes, she had been startled, but she was just happy she hadn’t Shifted as a result of it.
It was about then that lightning snaked across the sky, and thunder caused the ground to shake under her feet. She turned her head to the sky as it broke open, sending rain showering down on the forest. Not even a few seconds later, the trees began moan as the wind tore against them. Her eyes narrowed, all traces of her joy wiped off her face. She turned to the other two, then back at the sky. ”Maybe we should get back to the academy...” Her voice trailed off as another bolt of lightning shot across the sky, and another thunder clap caused the ground to shake. She shifted uneasily from foot to foot as she felt the ground move under her feet, finally turning her eyes to the other two. The rain started pouring harder, and it was very, very cold. She was going back, no matter what the other two were doing. This was not safe, she didn’t like it one bit. One minute it was sunny, then this? She backed away, to the shelter of the trees. Trees... not the best thing to hide under when there was lightning. This was a very, very dangerous situation they were in. Normal Talking

Had Mischa not hit her head when she fell, and had she not been a little dizzy from that, she probably would have immediately apologized and rushed over to help Serenity up. Instead, though, she lay still for a moment, before bringing herself to a sitting position and rubbing her head. "Ow." She looked around, combing her hair to get any dirt out of it (looks like she'd have to give it a thorough washing tonight). This is when her eyes settled themselves on a terrified Serenity.
Mischa's eyes widened. "I'm so sorry. There you are minding your own business and here I am startling you like that..." she stood, brushing herself off, determined to make a better impression and at least help Serenity out by helping her up or something. After all, it was the least she could do, as the one who had scared the poor girl out of her wits. Mischa realized that for Serenity, today was probably a very odd day, and not in a too good way, so far.
However, when Mischa stood, she had not accounted for the fact that she would likely still be dizzy from hitting her head. And dizzy she was! The world was still spinning a little as she brought herself to her feet. "Woah..." she held her hands out in front of her. She stumbled a little to the right, and then a little to the left, and then proceeded to stumble toward the tree she had just fallen out of, where luckily, she threw her hands out to catch herself in time. Slowly, she turned herself so that her back faced the tree, and closed her eyes, taking a moment as the world settled around her.
When she opened her eyes, everything was back to normal. Sort of. At least she wasn't dizzy anymore. But before she could go over and help Serenity up (although by this point, Serenity had probably helped herself up), the other girl (who had just earlier introduced herself as Amy) looked up and made a comment related to the weather. The wind was alright, Mischa had seen worse. It hadn't even started to rain really hard yet. But the lightning... the lightning scared her. It made the ferret within Mischa want to jump into a basket of warm laundry and curl up and hide until the storm passed.
