Hey everyone! The rules are fairly self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, feel free to pm any one of the staff members and they will be more than happy to help you out! These rules are some that are added about the specific game taking place on the site for Summer Madness, but most are taken from the basic game of volleyball. The number one rule is just to have fun! It's a game to play with your team and an event to make new friendships. The rules will just make it easier for you all!
Number One
The sand court is located near the beach, which means that the clothing restriction is much less restricted. So go ahead and wear your swimsuit to the competition, we don't mind. (:
Number Two
Your team is your team! Remember this when you dive in to take the ball from your teammate, because that'll probably happen a few times (:
Number Three
The server must serve from behind the end line until contact. They can serve underhand or overhand, and the ball can hit the net and count if it lands on the other side.
Number Four
When it comes to scoring, one point will be awarded for score of the ball. Offense will score on a defense miss or out of bounds hit and defense will score on an offensive miss, out of bounds hit, or serve into the net. The game will be played until each member has had the chance to play, and the winning team must win by 2 points.
Number Five
When it comes to rotating, there will be six players on the court at once. You will rotate the other three players in one at a time when the ball is in your possession once more.
Number Six
When it comes to actually playing the game, the basic rules apply. Each side is allowed three hits to get the ball over the net, and one team member cannot hit the ball twice in a row. If the ball touches the net and still comes over, it is still in play, and therefore should be played.
Number Seven
Violations include not serving the ball over the net, touching the net with any part of the body while the ball is in play, reaching under the net, and failure to serve in the correct order. If players go out of order, it awards the other team one point.
Okay, they're pretty simple! Some rules may not apply to you during your post, and that's perfectly alright! If you have any questions, please, please ask! We don't bite, promise! But mostly, have fun and enjoy Summer Madness Volleyball!
