In general, I'm going to make a Human/Demigod RPG. Demigods are basically "mythological figures whose one parent was a god and whose other parent was human. In some mythologies it also describes humans who became gods, or simply extremely powerful figures whose powers approach those of the gods even though they aren't gods themselves." (via Wikipedia)
For me, I will have shapeshifters, in a sense. They are actually a separate race from Humans, who were the original lifeforms on Earth. They came before dinosaurs and cavemen, and are the basis for many Greek and Roman myths and mythical animals. A Shift (the demigod) has three different forms: Human, Demi, and Animal. In their Human form, they can pass as any normal Human. In their Demi form, they have a few characteristics of their Animal. For instance, an Avian-Shift could have wings, sharp eyes, and such in their Demi form, and their Animal form would be some type of bird.
The regular Humans and Shifts have made a pact that would last for ten centuries (1,000 years) where a juvenile Shift would be assigned to a young Human and become their protector, lover, friend, husband or wife, or whatever the Human wanted out of their relationship. In the last few years of the pact's life, a law was passed that accepted Shifts into Human society fully, in the hopes to renew the contract and keep the strange beings under Human "control".
That's part of it, but not all, because I don't want to give everything away before opening the site. xD If you can help me pick a name, I'd love you forever! And I don't think this counts as advertising, because it's not even made yet. xD In any case, I'll delete this thread once/if I figure out a name.
