--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It had been a very, very, very long time since Tally had been in a mall, just to be in a mall. To just hang out. She walked through the front door, doing her normal 360 scan. Being here was less nervous making. She had enrolled herself in classes, and tried to start living like a normal teenager. She sighed, leaning back against the cool glass door, closing her eyes for a moment. A quick flash back of the hospital, sent a chill down her spine giving her goosebumps.time to keep moving. She pushed herself off the glass, not really sure where anything was. She needed new clothes, new well everything. She was finished traveling, finished running, well she could only hope for so much. Or maybe she was a traitor and lead the seekers to a town full of shape shifters. The thought stole her breath like a kick to the chest. She had to stop and breath, deep breaths. Her hands trembled threatening to force a shift.
"shit, I need to control this better. She paused, clenching her fists. think, white wall, white wall, white wall... calm down little Tally-Wa A few more deep breaths and she had it under control. She looked around, no one was watching her. She had come to mall at an early hour, not many came to the mall right when it opened. She liked the thought of being alone. Her mind was now blank, not thinking of anything in particular. Then the smell hit her. She stopped mid stride, the smell making her mouth water. Oh, could it be? sweet, sweet chocolate chip cookies. They weren't home made by any means, but they were still full of deliciousy goodness. Tally Turned her head, right to left trying to find the source of the cookies. Bingo.
To her 2:00 a Mrs. Fields. Tally almost ran to it. Wanting nothing more then a sweet ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie in her mouth. She practically drooled over the glass display case. To excited to speak, Tally motioned that she wanted to cookies. Her ocean blues twinkling with excitement. She was almost like a little kid again. She pulled out her wallet, there was never much in there, there was enough for cookies however. Taking the cookies Tally damn near pranced to a table. Sliding into a booth. Old habbits die hard. She sat where her back was facing a wall and she could see all exits. This turned out to be pointless once she sat down however.
Tally took the first cookie out. Wanting to savor every bit of its flavor. She head it with two hands, taking a bite, she closed her eyes. Forgetting the world around her for a moment. It was still warm. By all means it was no home made from scratch sort of thing. It was still good, better then anything she had in a long time. Before she knew it the first cookie was gone. It almost saddened her, but the thought of another cookie quickly made her smile. She had to think now, did she want to save this cookie for later or eat it now and try swindle a cookie or two. Tally decided to save it.
Sitting, looking around she watched the mall begin to fill up with people, she sighed softly. It would be easy to blend in here except.. She touched her hand to her face, feeling the small indents on her tattoo where they pressed to hard, leaving scar tissue. Her fingers were cool against it. It always seemed to be hotter then the rest of her body. Leaving her with an uncomfortable feeling on her face. She hated this stupid tattoo. With a sigh Tally, put her elbows on the table and dropped her face into her hands She curled her fingers slowly down her face and made them into fists. They stopped on both cheeks near her mouth. There she sat there, staring off into space. Letting no thoughts come into her head, white walls was all she was thinking about. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jamie sighed, already discouraged.
There was nothing for him to do in this mall, something besides walking for an hour would be heaven, but no luck. His stomach growled, sounding like thunder after the lightning, but he didn't feel like going to the overcrowded food court. The thunder was followed by a vaccuum as he yawned, bored.
And now he was as scattered if he had just been sucked into such a vaccuum, for he was utterly lost, and couldn't find a directory.
The directory seemed to be evading him, wanting to keep him lost. This caused him to wander around for a while, and he ended up going past a Build-a-Bear Workshop, a jewelry store, a video game store, and an American Eagle, where he bought a pair of sunglasses, feeling like a dork, because he had really wanted to put them on, and so he was wearing them indoors.
His wallet was back in his shorts' pocket after buying the sunglasses, but even then he felt...odd. Shifter Academy was all he had hoped for, but he hadn't really made any friends yet, and because it was summer, there were no classes, much to his dismay. He would take anything to get his mind off of being alone.
His arms swung by his sides as he walked absentmindedly, not thinking of where he was going or why.
His steps were stopped as he came to the escalator, and he looked down at his shoes, wondering how they had taken him to the escalator, so obviously often used. Jamie wasn't the only one on, and the people behind him looked impatient, so he took a step up, but was stopped. His foot automatically raised, and he checked to see what was on the bottom of his shoe.
Yuck, he thought, seeing the gum on his Converse. As soon as he was off the escalator, he saw a Mrs. Fields, and he knew they would have napkins, hopefully at least.Shivering for some odd reason, he walked over to the employee, and asked,"Can I have a napkin, miss?" But then he saw the weird sign that said:Napkins for paying customers only. Sighing, he reached for his wallet, and said, "Can I have a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, then?"The employee handed one to him, wrapped in wax paper, then told him how much it would be. It seemed like Jamie was spending money all over the place, but he payed for his cookie, and then grabbed tons of napkins. The napkins were those that almost every mall food shop had, and he sat down to a table near a dark haired girl probably a little over his own age, and immediately used a napkin to take the gum off of his shoe. That done, he tossed the napkins into the trash can, then went back to his table. The table was dirty, as one would expect from the mall, but cleaner than most. The smell of the cookie wafted up from the wrapping, taunting him, making him unwrap his cookie, and take a bite. He almost groaned in happiness, for the cookie tasted like heaven on Earth. He took another bite, and another, savoring the flavor of the white chocolate chips and the macadamia nuts together. He set it down, wanting to save it for later, though he wasn't sure how well that plan would work out, for he hadn't wrapped it up yet, and it was just so good!Stretching his legs out, he felt like he needed to climb something, or do...something. Something besides eating a cookie...he looked over at it, and took another bite.Jamie also looked over at the dark haired girl, thinking she looked familiar. Had he seen her at Shifter Academy? He wasn't sure, but he took a chance, and said, "Excuse me, but do I know you?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tally had stopped her spaced out stare to do a casual 360 glance around the place. Her back was to the wall. All she saw was a boy younger maybe by a year or so then here. She sighed. "Now is probably the best time to eat that other cookie.." She mused to herself. Tally shook her head, probably not the best idea to talk to yourself in public. A bad habit she had picked up while running. She watched the boy for a second longer, they were alone in all the places of the mall, no one wanted cookies?! Tally found this highly suspect. She pursed her lips, wondering why it wasn’t busier in this small cozy area of the mall. It was nearly noon by now.
Lifting up the second cookie. It wasn't was warm and gooey as the first one. She stuck her finger in one of the chocolate chips, it had hardened. A soft sigh escaped her. This cookie she would pick apart and eat bit by bit. Tally froze mid bit. She was a little more then paranoid then your average teenager. She had already had all the escape routes marked down. She pictured herself leaping out of her seat and jumping away from Fang. Shifting mid jump. Tally had done this many times. She and Fang had grown some what close over there years she was with him, always wanting to please him. Now things were different. She could never go back to that. it’s a good thing Fang could never find her here. Evan if he did, would he be able to catch her? She had been very good at being one step ahead, a few paces quicker.
The boy was only walking to a seat near here. She gulped finishing her small cookie chunk she had tore from the rest. Tally pulled her gaze away from the boy with she now noted gum on his shoe. His cookie smell reached her. It smelled just as good if not better. Out of the corner of her eye she watched him, just in case. She quickly gave up on the world is out to get me thing. Still she felt her arms trembling. She didn't want to run. Naturally Tally was a people person, she wanted to please everyone, even if they wanted to hurt her.
When the boy spoke to her excuse me, but do I know you? . Icy blue eyes watched him for a moment longer. She probably made him feel weird. She didn't talk a lot. His face didn't look familiar to her I go to the Academy, but I don't think I have seen you before.. Her voice was a bit hesitant. cool shades. A smile played across her features. She was what most people would like to call socially awkward. Her lack of ability to make casual conversation frustrated her. She took another small chuck of cookie, loosing herself for a split second in the euphoric, happy making feeling of the small cookie chunk. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Cool shades," the girl said, causing Jamie to smile.
He took them off, forgetting that he still had them on, and took another bite of his cookie.
"I'm Jamie," he said, trying to make conversation, though he had to admit to himself, he made her feel a little weird. The tattoo was interesting, but he had a hard time keeping his eyes off of it, though he tried. But there was something else that made his koala feel threatened...maybe she was some kind of canine shift?
His koala had been feeling weird all day though. Like something big was about to happen. Jamie always had a pretty peaceful shift, but it was anxious today. And that scared him.
Koalas never had to deal with much, no major storms, just the occasional predator, so he felt that if it was saying something was wrong, something was wrong.
He tapped his feet up and down, a little restless, but also checking to make sure that the gum was off his shoe. Satisfied that his shoe was clean, he messed with his hair, trying to keep his mind off of whatever his koala was feeling.
"Mall patrons," the intercom said, with a little static. "Please remain inside the mall. We are on hurricane alert. I repeat, please stay in the mall."
So that's what was bothering his koala. A hurricane! No wonder he couldn't place it, koalas lived in the outback, after all. Lots and lots of water never was good in his book, especially if it was an unstoppable force of nature.
He took a few deep breaths, and looked over at the girl, remembering her through his panic.
Jamie wasn't one to make jokes normally, but he tried to break the tension and said, "Well, if we're stuck in the mall, at least we won't go hungry," holding up his cookie.
Looking the cookie over, he took another bite, wishing it were warm. His sunglasses were now in his shirt pocket, and he brushed them with his arm as he took yet another yummy bite.
He thought it was one of the best cookies he had ever eaten, though that wasn't such a big deal, Jamie didn't eat cookies normally, because he loved eating veggies most of the time. He especially loved the nuts in it, and he focused on the flavor of them, trying to keep his mind off of the storm, but to no avail
Drumming his fingers on the shop's table, he finished his cookie, then muttered, "A hurricane. Unbelievable."
