Mollie felt the hot sun beat down on her and she knew it was summer. The best time for her to take a swim. The problem was she didn't have any one to swim with. She had no friends yet... She didn't even have any enemies. Mollie pouted her lip at the thought and played with the pink bear that hung around her neck as a necklace.
She twirled in her skirt loving her outfit . Most people would think it a little much to go swimming in but Mollie liked having a lot on. Her swim suit was a metallic silver two piece that looked as though it barely covered anything of her tall skinny body. But that wasn't her favorite part of her out fit. Her skirt was bright pink with zebra stripes over the zebra strips were ruffles of shear black fabric. Gorgeous !
Mollie smiled and twirled again. Her silver heels sunk into the sand. She knew it was unpractical to wear heels to the beach but she would never be caught with out a pair of heels on. Even though she already towered over people at six foot tall a few extra inches made her even taller.
She pulled on her striped tank top wondering if she should take off her shoes to make it easier to walk and swim. She watched the ocean was up on the shore then go back again. Mollie remover her shoes and her tank top hoping no one would steal them.
She twisted the bracelets that were around her wrist. The ocean reflected in her eyes as she remembered shifting that night. She laughed at the thought though it scarred her so much. She dropped her hands to her sides and decided to walk along the beach instead of swim.
She left her shoes and shirt behind her knowing she probably looked a little funny walking barefoot in a swim top and a pink skirt with a bunch of jewelery on. Mollie flipped her now brown hair behind her shoulder checking to make sure he bow was still holding half of her hair back.
Mollie gasped finding trash crawling down the beach closer to the ocean. She bit her lip and and quickly picked it up letting the ocean spray her her face. She sighed loving the was it felt. She couldn't resist any longer she sat by the water and dug her toes in the sand. Letting the water wash over her feet. Mollie hugged her legs to her chest and placed her head on her knees. Clothes

Macey stood over her many swimsuits, her hip cocked. She couldn't decide which one, but then she decided she really didn't matter because she'd be going swimming no matter what. She chose her metallic gold one, deciding to be a little bold, and put her lace shorts and "Finding Nemo" shirt over it. She grabbed her bag as she slipped on her sandals, and off she went, ready to go to the beach. She hesitated again, trying to decide whether she should walk or ride her bike. She eventually decided to ride her bike, and she put her bag in the basket. Macey started pedaling, and she was gone. She passed Shifter Academy's campus, trying to keep her eyes on the beach, but found herself looking at the unknown campus, wondering what she would do later. Her hands gripped the handles of her blue bike harder, as she saw some fellow students laughing with each other. So what if I don't have any friends yet? she thought, her eyes entirely focused on the beach now. Macey pedaled harder, more determined, and she arrived to the beach, out of breath, but ten minutes later. She locked her bike to a very long tree branch, and started to grab her bag. What if I'm not the only one here? she worried, not looking forward to any possible conversations. She took a deep breath, pushed her hair out of her face, and hesitantly grabbed her bag. Macey stood there a little longer though, tracing the pattern of her bag with her finger. She felt as if she were being a coward, and she didn't like that at all. She stood up straighter, her bag in hand, and took off towards the beach. When she got to the beach, she gasped. Trash, trash, trash. Aghast, Macey reached into her bag, grabbing a plastic sack that she had thought to bring. She tried not to cringe as she picked most of the trash on the beach, shoving it into her bag. After she was done, she ran to the nearest trash can, throwing the sack away with disgust. She sighed, glad that the trash was gone, though, and continued walking on the beach. Macey smiled, loving the scent of the beach air, the way the sand felt beneath her toes, the way the waves crashed on the beach. She walked closer to the shore, her shoes now off, and stuck her feet in the sand. She wasn't alone though. She looked over, and saw an extremely tall girl sitting down, her feet in the water, too. Hm, Macey thought. She looks a lot like..."Mollie?" Macey gasped. Clothes

"Mollie?" some one gasped up the beach.
Mollie slowly picked her head off her knees still not use to being called Mollie. She smiled thinking about how she was called Ellen all those years sort of missing the name. She shook her head knowing she should respond to her name.
She looked around the beach the trash she had picked up earlier still in her hand. Mollie spotted a girl trash sack in hand. Wow, I like her... Mollie thought as she got to her feet. She started wiping the sand off of her that had stuck to her skin.
That girl she.. She can't be. Wow.. how weird. Mollie recognized the girl from when she was snooping around on the computer on her history, It couldn't be her older sister. Macey was living with a nice adopted family.
Mollie began walking towards the girl. Her style was no where as good as Mollie's though you could tell she liked to be a little more subtle then Mollie. Mollie stopped a few feet away from the girl. She was the right size right hair color and looked the right age.
"You can't be," Mollie mumbled under her breath still a little astonished. She placed a hand on her hip and the other played with the teddy bear charm on her neck lace. Mollie decided to ignore the fact that they could be sisters . Instead she went into a comfortable thing to talk about.
Mollie flipped her hair back and pursed her lips. "I like the shirt. Finding Nemo good start. But the shorts are a little dull I would have gone with a jean cut off short. Those lacey things look like my grandma's table cloth." Mollie relaxed a little having fun. She fluttered her eye lids and looked this girl over again.
"And those shoes do nothing for your feet or your outfit I mean they need to have some pizazz like an assortment of jewels. and that bag has got to go. And please tell me underneath that is a two piece because you have the body for it. Trust me you don't want to cover that thing up."
Mollie gave a big smile, finally feeling more comfortable. She knew that what she said was a little mean. It was great. Everything she had said was true and was actually really helpful to her look. Though it did come out a little harsh. Mollie didn't care. She felt better now, She tugged on her ear rings and dug her toes deep in the sand awaiting this girl's response almost for getting she could be her sister. Clothes

"You can't be," Mollie muttered. Macey was thinking the exact same thing, but she decided to stay quiet. The girl, Mollie?, definitely had an interesting style, just like Macey's sister did, even when she was a toddler. Macey was still in shock, though, at the fact that she was seeing her sister, but she didn't know if she was or not. Sure, she looked a lot like Mollie, dressed a lot like Mollie, but was it Mollie? "I like the shirt. Finding Nemo good start. But the shorts are a little dull I would have gone with a jean cut off short. Those lacey things look like my grandma's table cloth." Macey blinked, her eyes wide. This girl definitely talked like Mollie, rebellious and with no thought for whether she sounded mean. The girl fluttered her eyelashes, looking Macey up and down. Macey was suddenly more self conscience than normal, having someone evaluate her outfit. Macey liked to blend in the background a little, but she still liked to stand out, that was the point of her lace shorts, even though they did kind of look like a tablecloth. "And those shoes do nothing for your feet or your outfit I mean they need to have some pizazz like an assortment of jewels. and that bag has got to go. And please tell me underneath that is a two piece because you have the body for it. Trust me you don't want to cover that thing up." Macey looked down at her figure, wondering if she was right. She smiled slightly, replying with a laugh, "Are you majoring in fashion, by any chance?" Macey looked this girl's outfit over, too, very crazy, very fun, very unique. And the shoes. Who wore heels to the beach? "Nice shoes," Macey said, commenting on the silver pumps. Macey was forgetting the possibility this girl could be her sister, she was just having a good time. Macey reached in her bag, pulling out the extra swimsuit she had brought, and the other pair of shorts. "Um, yeah, it is a one piece. I brought these though, just in case." Macey set the clothes on the beach, pondering if they were any better. "I don't have any other shoes with me, though," she said, looking down at the silver sandals. "I guess I was kind of going for an unconsciously, I don't want to be noticed kind of thing. I don't how well that worked though," she added with a shrug. Sister or not, Macey decided this girl was pretty cool. Dif. clothes

"Are you majoring in fashion, by any chance?" Mollie looked at the girl. Laughing? Not Mollies regular response. She shifted her weight. and began to play with her necklace again. She bit her lip not knowing how to respond. "Nice shoes," Mollie looked down at her feet the saw that her shoes were right next to them in a pile with her tank. Mollie smiled knowing it was weird to find a girl at the beach with heels. before Mollie could comment the girl was pulling clothes out of her bag. She walked closer wondering who brings extra clothes to the beach? She pulled out an off white two piece swim suit with shiny gold trim that connected along the side. Along with that came a pair of cut off jean shorts that were a washed out blue and had beads and bold stitching around the pockets. "Um, yeah, it is a one piece. I brought these though, just in case." Well if that wasn't loser like Mollie didn't know what was. She laughed a little and took the clothes form the girl. She looked them over and looked at the girl.biting her lip again. "I don't have any other shoes with me, though. I guess I was kind of going for an unconsciously, I don't want to be noticed kind of thing. I don't how well that worked though,". Mollie didn't really listen to the girl as she started to walk towards the ocean with an idea. She smiled and looked over her shoulder. "Umm well anything is better than those shorts." Mollie stopped and stripped off her skirt and necklace. She placed them in a pile. and looked at the Extra swim suit the girl had brought. "Let me see your other swim suit. The one you have on." Mollie now stood in only her swim suit waited for the girl to strip down to her's. She had an idea for the shorts too, but didn't feel like revealing it quite yet. Mollie watched and waited for the girl to as she was told. It was nice to feel the ocean on her. She closed her eyes trying not to think that somewhere inside her was a turtle. She bit her lip and opened her eyes wondering if the girl would fallow directions. Clothes

"Umm well anything is better than those shorts. Let me see your other swim suit. The one you have on," the girl said. Macey snapped herself out of her thoughts, and started to take off her outer clothes, shirt first, feeling like a stripper. As she pulled off her "Finding Nemo" shirt, Macey said, "I'm Macey, by the way, Macey Smith," though it may have come out a little muffled, thanks to the shirt. The girl was biting her lip, and Macey took off her shorts, putting them with the other clothes. "What grade are you in?" Macey added, "If you don't mind me asking, of course. I'm new here, and haven't really met anyone yet." Her eyes caught the bow in the girl's hair, and she wondered if she had an accessory fetish or just liked standing out. Macey was pretty sure it was the second, and she looked the girl in the eyes. The girl's eyes were blue, almost the exact same color as the waves washing up on the shore, and Macey felt self conscience about her own sand colored eyes. Macey had never really liked her own eye color, and she had always wished they were blue or green, probably green. She wasn't sure what the girl was going to do with the clothes, or why she needed to see Macey's swimsuit, but she looked pretty confident, besides the lip biting thing. Macey looked down, frowning as she saw her hips. She had never liked her hips, they were very muscular from swimming, and had thought as a kid that muscular was just a synonym for fat or big. She chuckled internally at the thought, and moved forward a little bit, sticking her feet in the water, leaving her shoes by her bag. The girl hadn't said anything for a while, piquing Macey's curousity. She was going to look back at the girl, as Macey was still calling her, still not sure if she was Mollie or not.Macey wondered what the girl's shift was, but didn't ask, not wanting to seem rude or anything. “I'm a senior,” Macey said, feeling like she was doing all the talking. She messed with her hair a little bit, trying to stay calm. It was just so nerve racking though! There was the possibility she was talking to her sister who she hadn't seen in years, and-- Macey's brain snapped into high gear, and she murmured, hopefully too soft for the girl to hear, “What about Melany?”

Mollie was stuck in her thought and almost grimaced at the sight if the all gold swim suit under the girls clothes. It was odd. It didn't do anything for her shape shuck clucked to her self thinking she should be doing this for money.
"I'm Macey, by the way, Macey Smith," The words were slightly muffled under the shirt but Mollie still understood what she said. It was way to coincidental. Mollie almost dropped Macey's clothes at her name. She sucked her lips in and tried not to have a heart attack.
"What grade are you in? If you don't mind me asking, of course. I'm new here, and haven't really met anyone yet." Mollie heard her speak but was still in shock instead she let her mouth settle int a subtle half smile and walked around Macey trying to keep her mind on the swim suit in her hands.
“I'm a senior,” Geez! Wouldn't she just be quiet so Mollie could think. She flug her arms to her side in frustration and fear. This girl was her sister no doubt. The right name and age. It was scary and Mollie began to play with her bracelet that was still around her wrist.
Mollie shook her head and flipped back her hair. She fixed her swim suit and went to wade out in the water. This was freaking crazy! She needed to be in the water she could care less about her turtle inside right now she just needed to feel better.
She threw the other swim suit at Macey. "I like this one better trust me get rid of the one you have on. Please only wear the gold thing if your alone. Okay?"
She took the shorts Macey had taken out of her bag and looked at them again. They were just a shade to light for her skin order. She liked the beading but not the stitching...
Mollie looked around for something sharp to remove the stitching on the shorts but found non. Instead she took her teeth and pulled it out with them. Her teeth were better than safety scissors as she found out at Fosters number three's house. (They were all about safety nothing to sharp for their children). She then took the shorts and dunked them in the water.
"There perfect they are a little to dark now but when they are a little damp you could rock the style." Mollie smiled again throwing the shorts at Macey just like the swim suit.
Mollie prepared to dunk her self under the water to get away from the fact that this girl was her older sister. But before she let the water over come her she heard Macey say, “What about Melany?”
Mollie knew she wasn't meant to hear the words they were so soft. They were a quiet whisper but still Mollie had caught them in the wind.
Mollie shook her head disappearing under the water with out a word about her twin.Clothes

"I like this one better trust me get rid of the one you have on. Please only wear the gold thing if your alone. Okay?" the girl said, throwing Macey the other swim suit.
Macey nodded, more so just out of habit, than actually promising to just wear it alone.
She watched in amazement though, as the girl removed the stitching on her shorts with her teeth, and dunked them in the water.
"There perfect they are a little too dark now but when they are a little damp you could rock the style." Macey blushed very slightly as the girl, now smiling threw the shorts at her, just like the swim suit.
The girl had started going further and further out into the water, and then Macey finally saw her go down under.
"Thanks," Macey said, smiling herself, but talking to no one.
She figured the girl wouldn't come up for a while, so Macey decided to enjoy the beach while she could. She put on the damp shorts over her one piece, the one she was only supposed to wear alone, and put her "Finding Nemo" shirt back on.
She rifled through her bag for a little, pulling out her "Little Mermaid" beach towel, and putting her lace shorts and other swim suit in.
She laid her towel on the sand, further from the waves, and decided to sun bathe, using her bag as a pillow.
Macey would have gone for a swim, as a turtle though, but she figured the girl wanted to be alone.
She put her head down on the bag, and felt something hard. She frowned at it, looking through it, but then found the sunglasses that she thought she had lost.
Macey decided to put them on, and fixed herself on the towel better, ready to relax. But just before she closed her eyes, she saw a perfect sea shell next to her, and she couldn't resist.
She picked it up, but didn't put it in her bag like she would usually, but instead kept it in her hand, fingering the spiral, and with her other hand, running her fingers through the sand.
"Wonder what her shift is," Macey muttered to herself, curious. "It'd be funny if she was a sea turtle, too," she added with a laugh, then actually started thinking of the possibility.
And where was Melany? Macey didn't know if the girl had heard her mutter something like that earlier, but she decided not to worry about it. Right now, all that tried to focus on was the sea breeze on her face, ruffling her hair.

Mollie came up from the water feeling much better. She pulled the drenched bow from her hair holding it in her hand. I was wasn't meant to be in water. She let the water roll from her skin. She wiped it away from her eyes and fixed the top of her swim suit.
She breathed in and out trying to forget that the girl on the beach was Macey her older sister. Trying to forget that she was a TWIN. She tried even harder to forget that she was a turtle.
Mollie cringed at the thought of having a family of having real siblings and not knowing the strife of knowing how awful the foster care system is.
She thinks back to what she found the about what had happened to her parents and their younger brother.
It was a car accident. Her mom happy playing with the new baby in the back. Her dad watching the road a smile plastered on his face. Then out of no where this teenagers flashes in front of them. He was going way to fast and they say a little drunk. He got a few scratches. Mollies family got dead. She looked at the girt laying out on the beach and ran the fingers through her wet hair.
Our family, Mollie thought. This was so dumb. They were both avoiding that they were freaking long lost sisters. Mollie slowing walked forward her eyes only taking in Macey laying out on a Little Mermaid towel.
Mollie couldn't help twisting her now water logged bracelets around her wrist. If this was her older sister where was her twin. Was her twin still alive. Melany Elizabeth Smith. Mollie seemed to Google that name a lot. Though it never got her far. With such a common name the most she knew about her sister was she two had been adopted out. Mollie was the only one was unwanted. Story of her life.
Mollie walked up to the edge of Macey 's towel letting the ocean drip from her skin onto Macey's. She sucked in her lips not knowing how this was going to sound. She assumed the mean girl position, one hand on her cocked out hip the other hand twisted ringlets in her wet hair.
"You know you are my sister. You were adopted and I was put through foster care. You are my older sister. You have to be I am not crazy."
Mollie just said the words her voice almost monotoned. She didn't know what to feel. She felt bad seeing her sister had little style. Mollie realized that she might sound crazy to this girl if she didn't agree. But she was Macey. She had known Mollie's name. She stood in her position ready to retaliate to what ever Macey threw back at her.

"You know you are my sister. You were adopted and I was put through foster care. You are my older sister. You have to be I am not crazy," said Mollie, no longer "the girl" in Macey's mind.
Macey exhaled, then smiled, looking up at Mollie through her sunglasses.
She took them off and said, "Yeah. I know," and it was if a giant weight had been taken off her heart. She felt as if the world had suddenly stopped moving, and then picked back up again, just like a heart stopping and then resuming its ever-continuing beat.
"It's hard to believe it's really you!" Macey exclaimed, hoping she didn't sound like a crazy person.
Macey stood up, dropping the shell she had picked up earlier, and was instantly shocked at how tall Mollie was. Macey was about average height for her age, but Mollie was even taller than that. She had to be around six feet tall, and Macey realized then how much she had missed, not getting to grow up with either of her sisters.
"Wow, I feel short," she added. "And now I feel like one of those relatives that you don't even know at the family reunions we never went to."
Macey brushed some sand off of her shorts, wondering how it got there. Her mind was wandering in the awkward situation, and she tried to make some more conversation.
"I'm glad you have style, Mollie," she said, gleeful at being able to use her sister's name after so many years, was it thirteen? "Because I'm kind of a lost cause with my table cloth shorts," she added with a laugh, trying to break the tension.
The sea breeze blew Macey hair, and fed up, she decided to pull it back into a ponytail using her ribbon, and that meant it was time for business.
Macey gave a sigh, and said, "I know this is awkward. Really awkward, but I'm your sister, and we haven't seen each other in at least thirteen years, so now would be a good time to catch up, probably. But on a different note, do you know where Melany is? Did she shift? Did she go to foster homes with you? I've missed both of you so much!"
Macey decided that she probably really sounded like a crazy person now, and she wondered if it showed on her face, because she felt like she was blushing like crazy; that or she had just gotten a sunburn.

"Yeah. I know," Mollie felt so weird and backed away from where Macey laid. Mollie hoped she was n't a hugger because that would just kill Mollie's style. This was to weird and Mollie needed to get her mind off of this. This unrealistic thing that was happening to her. Mollie began playing with the bracelet on her wrist her mean girl stance gone.
Maybe this was all because of her stupid shifting thing. If she hadn't of she shifted she wouldn't be here... The thing was she wanted to be here. She had asked to go here.
"It's hard to believe it's really you!" The girl, her sisters voice broke her thoughts. Mollie grumbled under her breath and took another step back as she got up from her towel and dropped a sea shell she had in her hands.
"Wow, I feel short. And now I feel like one of those relatives that you don't even know at the family reunions we never went to."
Mollie chewed on the inside of her cheek feeling really uncomfortable. This was not happening to her. She never had a family and never would have a family. She was un-adoptable. She was meant to be alone. She went over to where her tank and shoes were slipping on her tank top over her half wet bathing suit top. She held her hand already feeling better with the bright top on.
"I'm glad you have style, Mollie. Because I'm kind of a lost cause with my table cloth shorts," Mollie tried to let a smile play on her lips but her attempt failed. This was useless. This was to weird. Mollie needed time to process this. She wasn't really Mollie any more though not the Mollie this girl saw inside She was Ellen. The whole situation began to crash down on Mollie.
"I know this is awkward. Really awkward, but I'm your sister, and we haven't seen each other in at least thirteen years, so now would be a good time to catch up, probably. But on a different note, do you know where Melany is? Did she shift? Did she go to foster homes with you? I've missed both of you so much!"
At the mention of her twin, Mollie couldn't take it any more. Mollie couldn't have a family she couldn't have a nice older sister or a twin. She was a foster kid. Tough through and through!
"How should I know! While you were with your nice little family where you were freakin' spoiled, I was paced from Foster to Foster!!!! I was the one who wasn't wanted. I don't know you okay and my name isn't Mollie any more it's Ellen! And... and I just can't deal with you right now. I learned I was a freak and that I live with other freaks and ugh this is so stupid!"
Mollie just blew up she went over and grabbed her skirt and necklace. She began to storm down the beach. She wan't crying because you don't cry in foster care. Mollie didn't know what she had said she just knew she needed to get away from the past. When your passed around so much you learn you don't need any one but your self. That's all Mollie needed herself.
She wiped sand off her thigh that had stuck to her skin in her rush.. She didn't even realize she had left her pink bow with that girl down the beach.

“How should I know! While you were with your nice little family where you were freakin' spoiled, I was placed from foster to foster!!!! I was the one who wasn't wanted. I don't know you, okay, and my name isn't Mollie any more, it's Ellen! And... and I just can't deal with you right now. I learned I was a freak and that I live with other freaks and ugh, this is so stupid!"
And then Mollie, er, Ellen, stormed off. Macey didn't know what to say. She knew that it wouldn't be smart to go after her, but the urge was strong. This was her sister! Obviously Mollie didn't care. Macey did though, and she wondered about Melany. What were the chances of seeing her? High, very high. If her twin was a shifter, then Melany probably was too.
Macey bent down to pick up the bow her sister had left behind, then tossed it onto her bag. She was sure that she'd give it back to her someday, but someday definitely wasn't today. She picked up the shell she had dropped, brushing off a few pieces of sand, then placed that carefully next to the bow. On second thought, she put them both in her bag, that way she wouldn't have to remember to do it later, and decided to go into the water.
The sky was an ugly gray color, so different that the blue it had recently been. She frowned at it, then looked at the water. The waves were coming in stronger, and Macey didn't feel safe anymore, didn't feel at home like she usually did.
She ventured forward though, let the water grace her feet, then backed up at the cold feel of it. The ocean was loving, made people feel like they belonged, but not today, at least not anymore. Macey gathered her things, shoving her towel into her bag, and decided that she should probably go back to the school. She didn't want to, but knew it was probably the safest thing to do.
[[time skip]]
When Macey got back to the school, she was exhausted, physically and mentally, for reasons she knew and for reasons she didn't. She didn't care any more, just wanted to relax, so she threw her bag on the floor, and plopped onto the bed. With an afterthought, she picked up her bag, found the bow, and placed it on one of her books. Then she fell asleep. [/blockquote]
