It was overcast today, but still very warm, which she didn't like that much, but what could she do? She couldn't control the weather, no matter how much she wanted. She had today to herself, no Mura. It dawned on her that she didn't have many friends, but she did have Rin, the girl who wanted to kill her.
In any case she enjoyed her alone time, but that usually didn't last long. She would see someone walk by and jump up and talk to them. She loved to talk a little to much. She set be bag down beside her and stretched neck, arm, legs and fingers. She let out a sigh of relief. She was officially comfy. She rummaged through her bag and took out a bottle of coke and a pair of sunglasses. All she need now was a manicure and a pedicure and she would be in paradise. She sighed again and opened the bottle.
She felt as if she could float away up into the air and not come back down. She could listen and just reflect on the past few weeks. She had fought Rin and lost, disappointing Murazar, but on the plus side she meet Oliver, who seemed nice enough. She put on her sunglasses and closed her eyes and began to hum off tune to the song of Freckles by Natasha Bedingfield. It was one of her favorite songs and she could sing and hum, but today was a lazy day, so why not sing off tune, right?
As she hummed she could hear people walking by so she made her humming softer. She finished the song so she changed the radio station in her head. It was now playing Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. A great Band in her opinion. She liked many kinds of music, but classical was her favorite. She wished that her radio station had that kind of music, but she didn't know any classical song off by heart, she just liked the way it sounded. As Face down ended she began to play with her hair, she took a sip of coke.
She wondered for a moment if she should go back to her dorm and paint her nails...Orange maybe pink. She heard someone talk directly at her, but the music was loud and ringing in her head. "What? Pardon?" She opened her eyes and lifted up her shades. Etta saw a Grade seven or eight looking at her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED: Theodore Stevenson WORDS: 424 OUTFIT: A Click it! x Today was a nice day. It was nice and warm, but the sun was hidden by a layer of clouds. This meant all the happiness of the heat without the sun glaring in your eyes or burning your skin. Theo hated putting on sun-screen and other things like that, so days like this were perfect. He’d decided he was going to go out and do something. He didn’t know what he was going to do but he couldn’t just sit in and do nothing. So he headed out to look for something to do. So, dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, he set off to look for something to do.
He wandered round for a while. He wasn’t in a rush to be anywhere or do anything so he walked quite slowly. If the weather was ever anything near this good at home he would have immediately gotten in touch with some of his friends and they’d have gone to a park or something to spend the day. But here he didn’t really know anyone, which made getting in touch with friends a bit of a problem. It was strange being in a place like this, with so many kids from so many places. It was very different from when he had been growing up in England. He lived in a little residential area, so he didn’t often see people who didn’t live in the area. His school was in the same area as well so all of his friends were local. Being in this new place with so many new people was both exciting and frightening at once. He’d settled in quite nicely but it was still a big change. He had to get out and start meeting people and making friends sooner or later.
Walking around outside, Theo noticed that most people were already with groups of friends. He never really understood how he had made his friends, it had just sort of happened. He’d known most of his old friends since he was really young, back when things were simpler and making friends was easy. He was never sure how to go about it now, usually you had to strike up a conversation and hope you got along but going up to a group of people and trying to get into their conversation seemed a little weird. Maybe if there was someone on their own he could talk to.
He wondered if this was weird; walking around trying to find people to talk to or be friends with. It wasn’t something he usually did and to his knowledge not many other people did it either. But for the moment it was all he could do other than sit about on his own, and he’d spent too much time on his won recently. He noticed a girl sitting alone by a fountain, humming. The fountain looked like a nice place to be in this weather so Theo wandered in that direction. He thought it might seem a little weird if he were to just sit down near someone, so he decided to ask the girl if she minded. She was older than him, and seemed to be in her own little world as he approached and asked if she minded him sitting there. Her reply was one he’d heard himself say quite often when his mind had been wandering and someone had said something. ”I was just wondering if you minded me sitting here,” he repeated, indicating a spot by the fountain. ”What were you humming, if you don’t mind me asking. He added, hoping to start off a little conversation. It was in her nature after all to be social, she loved to people watch. Even though she hadn't done it recently. “I don't mind I love company!” She smiled. She looked up to the sky and dark clouds were coming towards the campus and fast. “The song is Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, I think it is a very great song, but that's just me. I'm Rochette by the way. Although most people call me Etta.” By most people only Mura called her Etta. Rin called her a bitch. Her Brother Mitchell, well, she didn't want to think about him. It hurt enough to think about what had happened the past few days any way. Rochette would have to clear her mind and just be herself, well everything but the pain she has been feeling.
She had that look on her face, that look of zoning out. She shook her head and snapped back. “Yeah so I love music, but it's not my major. Sometimes I wish it was, you know? It's like a completely different world you can escape to.” She said thinking about the life she wanted to escape from now and the life she had escaped from many years ago. These moments made her heart stop and rewind, they made her mind remember the memories she had locked in a safe never to look at or think about again. As her thoughts wandered even more she broke down. Rochette had become better at concealing her flash backs even from Murazur and that is what she was doing now, hiding behind a facade of happiness and joy.
There would be a fake hint in the words she spoke from this point on. Although it was a slight hint, it was still there. Now she slowly looked at the sky once again, in the short period of time, the clouds had become darker and she stood up. “Maybe we should go inside now.” Although the words sounded hollow, the idea was more or less smart. It looked like a storm was going to hit, and Etta didn't want to be caught in the mists of it. She took one last sip of coke before putting the cap back on and throwing it in her bag. As she pick up her bag, she thought of something else to say. “So... How did you end up here?” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED: Theodore Stevenson WORDS: 412 OUTFIT: A Click it! x The girl looked him up and down, but not in a bad way. To Theo it looked like she was figuring him out, but in a friendly way. The way Theo did sometimes. He imagined she was wondering what he was like, maybe what animal he was. She responded to him quickly, telling him she didn’t mind him sitting there and that she was happy for company. Theo’s face lit up, his first impressions of this girl were good, she seemed nice and friendly and was smiling at him. She told him the name of the song. It sounded kind of familiar but he couldn’t quite remember it. Oh well, it didn’t matter. She was introducing herself now. Etta was a nice little name. He wondered if she liked it better than her full name. He liked his nicknames better than his full name, but then he’d always found Theodore a bit of a silly name. He returned her smile after she had finished speaking and made his own introduction. ” Hi Etta, Most people call me Cub, or at least called me Cub. I’m skill new here and don’t know anyone really.” He felt like he could trust her, even though he’d only just met her. Some would say he trusted too easily, and maybe that was true, but he didn’t see it that way. Rochette looked a little like she was off in her own little world, only for a minute though. She gave a little shake of her head and then spoke again. He nodded eagerly in reply. ”I love music too, I can’t play any instruments but I can sing. It’s my major and it’s been great so far. Music is the best way to relax I think. Well, it’s good for everything really. There’s music for every mood.” Theo liked happy music the best but he knew a lot of people liked to listen to music that reflected their mood, which he did too, sometimes. He found that sad music made him feel worse rather than better though and usually stayed away from it. He noticed that the temperature had dropped and looked up at the sky, seeing dark clouds advancing on them. He looked back to see Etta returning her gaze from the clouds back in his direction. She suggested they go inside. She sounded a little odd, as though her voice had changed subtly, but Theo didn’t really take much notice of that. He was nodding and taking a half step away from the darkening mass in the sky. ”Do you think there’s going to be a storm”? he asked, his voice betraying his nervousness. Storms were loud and vicious and they scared Theo, though he didn’t like admitting it. Etta was stood picking u her bag now and asking him how he ended up here. ”Oh, I guess the same way as everyone else… I shifted. It… wasn’t nice. I hurt one of my friends. And I didn’t know what to do at first. How about you?” He was making more little movements towards the academy, those clouds looked like they were carrying more than just rain. When he asked about how she had gotten here, she froze in spot. “It was midnight and in the middle of winter. I shifted into an Artic Wolf, it was well painful,” jumping out of shock and trying to leave out as much detail as possible she began to walk again, “ as most shifts are, I killed my mother, then m,y father, then I tried my brother...he won the fight we had and let me go. I wandered for two years, doing things I do not dare to mention, and found myself here. I've been here for about six years of my life. Killing them was the worst thing I could do...everything just didn't seem to have the importance it once did and I gave up, but these six years have helped me.” Rochette said with a weak but genuine smile. Although she wasn't totally there, Etta was meaning every word that had just came out of her mouth. Although she wasn't totally there, Etta was meaning every word that had just came out of her mouth.
Even though she was a little happier to get that off her back, she couldn't help but think of her brother and what he was up to. It hurt to know that she'd more or less never see him again. There was always a chance that they would meet someday again. Etta was walking at a slightly faster pace. She looked at Theo. “I love the rain, but I really don't want to get wet right now...” The feeling of cold wetness would be like the blood that had been all over her, she didn't need the reminder of that night. Her hair was up in a high ponytail and her tattoo showed which she rubbed top of. It hurt for some reason, it had never done that before. Some times she thought that her mother and father talked to her, in some way or an other....something, once again, she would have to talk about with Murazar.
The school was getting close and closer as they walked, it was almost like she was running at this point, but still not being all there she didn't notice the rain, and her feet where running and she was laughing as she did this. The laugh wasn't hallow or fake it was real, she was having fun for once this week. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED: Theodore Stevenson WORDS: 418 OUTFIT: A Click it! x Theo wasn’t happy when Etta confirmed his fears. He hated storms. It looked like this was going to be a big one too. The clouds all around were darkening and the wind was picking up. Rochette stopped for a moment. Just for a moment, and spoke before moving on again. He didn’t know what to make of her animal. He kinda liked wolves, but he always found himself wondering what would happen if they met in their animal forms. Being a small animal he would often be vulnerable. He didn’t think Rochette would be like that though, she seemed too nice. At the moment though she appeared sad. She told him her story. Theo couldn’t help stopping and staring a little, his expression was full of sympathy and sadness. He knew that a lot of people attacked when they first changed, and with larger animals they could do a lot of damage. He never imagined someone would kill their family though. ”I’m so sorry. That mush have been awful.” He said, slowing a little and looking at the girl with sad eyes. Realizing after a minute that she probably didn’t want to talk about it, especially considering the way she ended the sentence, he quickened his pace a little to walk beside her, returning her smile. He felt like he should say something, change the subject maybe. But he couldn’t think of what to say, it would sound too awkward. Luckily though, Etta did it for him. Quickening a little, she explained how she didn’t want to be wet. Theo nodded and matched her speed. ”It looks like it’s going to be a big storm,” a little nervousness and fear creeping into his voice. ”I don’t like storms…” His voice trailed off. He was going to say that they scared him, but didn’t want to admit it. Theo noticed Rochette was slowly increasing her pace still, until she was almost running. Other people were doing the same around them, evacuating the lawns for fear of getting wet. It had started raining, Theo was amazed how quickly the whether had changed. He knew in climates like this the whether could change really fast but seeing it happen was strange. Rochette was running now, and Theo kept pace, not wanting to be left behind. The rain was cool, and actually quite refreshing after the heat of just a short while earlier. He heard Rochette laughing to his side, and looked at her, almost confused. She seemed to be having fun running from the rain. Theo gave a little smile at this, he preferred people being happy and having a good time. He slowed as they reached cover, and looked for a moment back at the lawns, where rain was now falling steadily. The clouds that were advancing looked bad. Theo hoped that it would blow itself out quickly or move off as fast as it had appeared. [/blockquote]

It wasn't in a baby voice, it wasn't in a diminishing way, it was a tone of voice that came across caring and sweet. She wanted to know if he was going to be okay tonight. She always wanted a little sibling, to care for and look after. She had the best intentions for Theo, for only talking to him for such a short while she liked him, he was nice and like a little brother.
She still had that smile on her face and she wanted to laugh even more. She, at this point, was letting go of the pain and past and letting in the new and happy. Something she needed to do. The rain would be cool and nice now...she could have sat there and drank her coke all day long in the rain until it got all windy and hail would begin to fall, something she would do with her brother during thunderstorms. She sighed inwardly. She missed him, but she'd have to get over it.
Rochette opened the door to the building and walked in. She saw the plain white walls with normal paintings, more or less made by students here and the paintings where of the beautiful flowers in the gardens. This one painting was repeated, but it changed throughout the seasons. It made her smile, she always loved these kind of paintings. Etta chose a piece of wall and sat in front of it. Once again she had to stretch and get comfortable. She looked at her feet and wiggled her toes, then cracked her fingers, and her neck. Then her arms and legs which made her very relaxed even if she was sitting on an uncomfortable floor.
“So you told me your Major, So I think I should tell you mine. I'm a Sociology student. I love people as you can more or less tell.” She said with a huge smile on her face as people walked by soaking wet. “I am so happy that I get to walk around out there.” She closed her eyes and remembered the snow and the cold, it was almost like the rain, but...you know not a liquid. Etta opened her eyes to see the rain pouring down. She sighed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED: Theodore Stevenson WORDS: 406 OUTFIT: A Click it! x Theo stood back to let Rochette enter the shelter of the building first. She spoke to him in a kind voice. It was a little like his friend’s mother used to speak to him when he went round after school. Only it was different because of the girl who was saying it. It was a kind, caring tone of voice, the kind that made you feel you could tell them anything. The kind of voice that usually came from someone you loved. Theo had never heard someone close to his own age talk to him like that It was nice. ”They’re just… loud and… they frighten me. Thunder and lightning, the wind and stuff like that.” He felt like a baby, admitting he was frightened so easily. But at the same time he knew it was ok to tell Rochette, even though they didn’t know each other. He knew she wouldn’t laugh or tease him or anything like that. She seemed too nice.
Theo noticed Rochette was still smiling, and Theo couldn’t help smiling back. Even though just a few minutes ago she had seemed so sad, she was now looking nice and cheerful. Theo hadn’t ever met someone like that before, it was nice to see someone who didn’t seem to let themselves stay miserable. She didn’t seem to be putting it on either. Sometimes when Theo wasn’t feeling very happy he would pretend everything was fine. He knew that having someone sad around made everyone unhappy, so he hid it. He didn’t think it looked very real though, just a mask of happiness that anyone could see past if they looked. Rochette seemed generally happy after her run in the rain.
Etta was sitting down and getting comfortable. Theo felt his hair, it was surprisingly wet considering they had only been out in the rain for a little while. Looking back outside he saw the rain was thundering to the ground. How had it gotten so stormy so quickly? He saw students running for cover from the rain and the wind, which had picked up considerably. One girl screamed as her hat was nearly blown away.
Leaning against the wall opposite Rochette, Theo slid down it, tucked his legs in to his body and hugged his knees, peering over them at the girl. She did seem a very social person. At least from the little he had seen of her. She hadn’t minded him asking to sit next to her and had started talking to him. He gave yet another little smile as she said she was happy to walk around out in the rain. He could tell she had enjoyed it.
Theo searched around for something to talk about, something to take his mind off the storm brewing outside. ”So… what’s it like here? Like, what is there to do?” Theo, having grown up in a residential area of England, knew how to have fun with little to actually do. It was childish fun though, something he probably should be growing out of.

Sounds can really hurt you, unless they shatter your ear drums...but that won't happen!” She said attempting to save herself. As he slid down the wall to sit, she smiled at him. So far, they had gotten along, but Theo seemed shy, like he had a hard time making friends. Rochette hoped that she could be his friend, regardless of the age difference. All these years she has been locked up inside and never really made any friends here at the school. She didn't want to let anyone in, no one, Etta was too afraid to hurt someone. Like many people here. Now she has slowly come out of her shell and has become her old self again, but it has brought back painful, shifting memories.
Theo sat with his knees pulled up close, like she used to do. “I love it here,” It was better then the murder scene she left eight years ago, “I mean sure, maybe I have the odd day that I'm board, but there is plenty of stuff to do. One of my favourite things is to just sit outside and people watch, there are so many of them, it's funny!” Etta laughed. “So what is your shift?” Etta really had no idea what he could be...she was lost for ideas. Once you talked to him he was sociable, but from afar he seemed to be shy and a little conservative. She rummaged through her bag to find the bottle of coke. Which was fairly easy to find it was one of the largest objects in her bag. As she uncapped the bottle pointed her toes towards Theo. Her entire body ached for whatever reason.
She played with cap in her hands looking around the hallway. Many students and staff members began to fill the all ready cramped area. Etta loosely cover the bottle and got up to sit beside Theo, trying not to get pushed or shoved, which was a challenge. Some of the faces she knew, but didn't really know the people behind the faces. She dropped her bag on the floor and let her back slide down the white wall. Rochette closed her eyes and began the relaxation process again. After a few minutes, Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood began to play in her head. Her foot began to tap to the beat. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED: Theodore Stevenson WORDS: 406 OUTFIT: A Click it! x Theo nodded as the older girl told him not to worry. He knew that the storm couldn’t really hurt him if he stayed indoors, but it still frightened him. ”I know they can’t hurt me, but… I still don’t like them. I can’t help being scared.” he talked quietly, not wanting any of the other people in the corridor to listen in. Most of the people from outside had come in now, and the corridor was rather crowded. Theo was glad Rochette was so nice. He didn’t like admitting he was scared, but it felt ok to tell her. The boy was glad to have met someone he could talk to so quickly. He might have a friend already. He never really had any problems making friends, but he was a little shy sometimes and it could take him a while to feel like he could be himself around people.
Rochette must have been at the academy a while. Theo knew that most people shifted when they were about thirteen, and Rochette was definitely older than that, so she mist have spent at least some time here. The way she was talking it sounded like it was a nice place to be. Theo thought of what he had left behind. It wasn’t perfect, far from it. He had his friends but since he’d shifted he didn’t really feel like he belonged with them, and his relationship with his dad had been completely ruined. Coming here was an opportunity to start again. He hoped he would like it as much as Rochette did. Maybe she would show him some things to do, or some interesting places.
Theo still felt a little weird talking about shifting with people. For about a year after first shifting he had no-one to talk to about it with. It had been just him, all alone. He had felt isolated, and had known no-one else who could shift. He felt like a freak, but he had still shifted and wandered around at night. Now he was surrounded by other people with the same talent. It was strange and yet brilliant, he wasn’t alone. ”I shift into a fennec, a kind of fox.” he said to Rochette. ”and… what’s your shift?” he added slowly, still feeling a little strange for asking.
There were quite a few people in the corridor now, and Rochette stood to move next to him, probably so that people could walk around them. Some people seemed to be sitting or standing around the corridor the same as them, others were walking off into the school, probably to find somewhere more comfortable to stay. Theo wasn’t quite sure why Etta had decided to sit here, but it didn’t really matter. She sat quietly for a while, with her eyes closed. Theo didn’t know what she was doing but he didn’t feel like he should interrupt her. After a while she started tapping her foot, and Theo wondered if she had another song in her head. He was about to ask her when someone coming in from outside walked past, standing heavily on his foot. The small boy gave a little surprised yelp of pain, looking up at the person who had done it. He didn’t know if it was an accident, but the guy responsible didn’t look like he was going to apologize.
