Oh this would be fun! Leena had been chatting with Zandie, her dear dear friend, on instant messenger and they had finally decided to go and hang out! It was a pleasure of the summer to be able to hang out with good friends like him. They were both culinary majors and therefore had refined pallets with esquisite tastes only for the very best food... Haha! No, Leena was up for eating anything. She loved food, it told a story and was more expressive than words at times. Words. Some of the things that she found were quite hard to get out sometimes. So you tell your story with finely made pasta or a pot of curry. The possibilities are endless for an artist in the chef's profession.
Leena had not seen Zandie since school ended. Though she didn't really get out all that much aside from visiting the beach once and again to let her shift free. Though it was never quite satisfied without another to accompany it. The otter wanted a group, a family of a group. But Leena wasn't allowing that. She had Zandie, who she was a bit protective over---but that was who she was. Leena walked through the grass to the cafeteria and smiled. The sun was setting and nobody was around. Heck. It was the summer nobody was ever around. Allot of the culinary kids snuck into the cafeteria kitchens to cook so Leena wouldn't be to surprised to see someone already in there. But there wasn't
She moved forward in determination, her vegetable shoes crunched as they hit the ground. The grass bending and smashing under her feet. As she approached the back door Leena removed the stepping stone that was two away from the door and unlocked it. Another little known piece of information that most in her major knew of. It was important after all! Who wouldn't want to practice a little bit of culinary mastery with 'free' materials!? It is sort of a rhetorical question. After the door was unlocked she placed the key in her pocket and patted it with comfort. Wouldn't want that to go missing now. Leena figured that Zandie knew where the key was, but maybe he just knew that she would be in there already.
Fumbling around in the dark for a second Leena's hands searched for the light switch. So maybe nobody was in here. That was fine, more room for Zandie and herself to cook up a storm and talk a little. She didn't know what kind of mood he was in but Leena was positive that she wanted to do something fun. She loved food from the Mediterranean but it was after dinner time. There was always the fourth meal! but perhaps desert would be best. As her hands found the hard surface of the switch she flicked on the fluorescent lights that hung from the ceiling. The kitchen was nice for a cafeteria kitchen, but it still was not top notch. Glossed cement floors that were kept incredibly clean made her little vegetable shoes squeak lightly as she walked across it.
Oh. to be back in a kitchen again, to be back in her home. It was a bit shameful how well Leena knew the off-limit kitchen. Most of the teachers knew about culinary students sneaking in, but they pretend not to know. And when asked about it they would most likely reply, it's just a few mice. Hah! Surely there were a few mice culinary majors too. The irony of it all was amusing. Her feet moved quickly to a cluster of aprons hanging on individual hooks. The main apron wasn't hanging there, but she just brushed that thought aside and grabbed a multi colored one one. It had different, bright and off white stripes, perfect for Leena. She slipped it over her head and turned around while her hands reached behind her back to tie the apron around her back.
Brown eyes scanned the spotless area with hungry eyes and she finished tying a quick and efficiant knot behind her back. Leena brought her hands up to her face and rubbed them together excitedly. Sure, a few things seemed a bit out of place, but it mostly escaped Leena's attention. She went and started gathering pots, pans, and bowls to start with. They could make anything out of the array of food and such here. but desert was on her mind as she grabbed a few circular cake pans. Setting the array of cooking pieces down on the huge stainless steal island in the middle of the kitchen an approving grin crossed her face and she placed her fists on her his "Alright. Ready to make a masterpiece!"
