It seemed like another quiet day around campus. Or Maybe it was just that way in the library, since it was a decently nice day outside. So why wasn't this teacher enjoying outside? Easily, she had to some research for herself in the library. It wasn't one of those things that could wait around, but she was confused on something that she had to figure out. Hey, even teachers didn't know everything in the world, they had to learn stuff as well, even after they were done with school.
Walking around the library Kaya ran her fingers along the spines of the books. It had been a while since she actually spent time in here. Calculus you didn't need a different book besides the one you learned stuff from. Yoga... haha yeah right. And Engineering, she used computers to help her explain most of the stuff she needed to do. So the library always seemed out of reach during most of the school year. It was nice just just to relax with a good book at times.
Maybe it wasn't the time to be looking up something, maybe just reading something would be nice. The teacher started to wander away from the section she was in, over towards the fiction section. Some books on the shelves were completely worn out with cracked spines. Then there were some that were completely new, that looked like they were never cracked open before. How sad, people could just live their lives without touching a book. She knew people like that when she was in school, and their was no doubt that there were still some kids who wouldn't step foot in a library no matter what. Technology had a lot to do with it. Now, she wasn't saying that technology was bad, because she used it every time she needed to fix something, it just shouldn't have been something to take over teenagers lives.
Well, that wasn't here or there at the moment. As her blue eyes scanned upwards towards the top shelf, she saw a book she use to enjoy reading years ago. Alice in Wonderland. It was good as a book and a movie. Reaching up, she tried to see if she could grab it with her hands, without any help, but she couldn't. Damn her short stature at times. She wasn't really 'short' but reaching some things were still hard for her. Looking around she found a chair off to the side and picked it up, carrying it over towards the shelf. Slowly standing up on the chair, she had to find her balance first. It wasn't the most stable thing she could grab at the moment, but she knew it would do.
'Why are these shelf's so high? Do they think we are all amazing tall?' With a sigh, she grabbed the book in one hand, holding onto the shelf with the other. The chair was slightly shaking underneath her. 'Oh, just my luck...' Slowly holding the one shelf, she started to step back onto the chair. Wishing there was someone around to help her get down. She was not in the mood for falling down today.

Hearing a voice behind her, Kaya turned her head slightly looking at the new person now standing next to her. "Ah, yes, thanks." She said as he steadied the chair for her. Once she wasn't wobbling around, she took his hand in hers and took a step down. It was a relief, and the last time she tried to get a book down without using a proper stepping stool to actually get the book. Being lazy did have its disadvantages like that, but, sometimes those things could be in random hard to find spots. And it wasn't worth it. Now she was thinking differently about them. Or just thinking about taking a book that wasn't on the top shelf. Yeah, definitely going to start there.
After stepping off the chair, the teacher turned around to once again thank the person who had helped her. As she was about to say something she stopped looking at him. Yes, he could have been a student, something was very familiar about him. "You seem familiar. Like I've met you before. Though, I'm sure you're not one of my students...." She held the book to her chest as she placed a finger to her lip and tapped trying to figure out why he looked familiar. It wasn't from any class, she was sure, plus she knew he couldn't be much older than her. Not at all. So maybe when she was in school then? That really had to be the only option left. Though she was a teacher, she didn't know many of them. She taught her classes, and maybe spoke with a few who taught same subject different level, but that was really it.
It was something about that hat, that was really the thing that stuck out. There were something that reminded Kaya of when she was in school. Somebody always wore one. Could it be the same person that stood before her now, There was the chance that he too became a teacher at the school, it wasn't unheard of. She was there after all. Name...Name... His name was... It was right on the top of her tongue too. Don't you just hate when that happens. "It's Hatter, right? At least your nickname." She said smiling as she figured out. That's right, she graduated with him, they were the same age.
Now, if it wasn't for the hat, she might not have been able to guess right, since it was the biggest clue. Her thoughts wandered back to those days and she remembered seeing him with his hats all the time. She maybe had one or two classes with him, but they were in different fields of study. All in all, she had a few conversations with him before, and he was nice. They just never seemed to hang out outside of classes when they were in school.
