...Flight
Silence... Twilight Gleaming
Silence Ever Concealing
A slight of hand
A twist of fate
An illusion of happiness
The discord of sorrow
As time slowed down, her thoughts sped up, here in this owl form on a branch, meditating her internal discord.
We've been so distant lately, she thought.
Fourteen years of discord, and we still haven't resolved
We can solve this later!
Night was falling, and the last rays of the golden twilight were beginning to disappear between the trees.
Thinking to herself, attempting to evade the confused silence of her mind, Alexis took flight into the golden sky, hoping to avoid the inner turmoil brewing inside her head.
I need to work this out with her, Alexis thought to herself. Otherwise she'll control me.
See, Alexis may be very much an adult in many ways, but when it came to her Owl self, she was still just a confused adolescent, looking for guidance.
And her inner discord was growing.
If she didn't conquer the night soon, she wouldn't be able to live herself, in any of her forms.
And she had seen what people who weren't in sync with their animal forms ended up like.
It wasn't pretty.
She didn't want to end up like that.
So Alexis concocted a plan to conquer the night.
For the next couple of nights, she would spend her time, instead of meditating or solving equations in her room, in the forest, meditating and acclimating herself to the night.
Hopefully she would be able to get over it soon.
Landing on a tree bough low to the ground, Alexis settled herself in for the night. Nodding her head into her wings, she realized that she wouldn't be able to sleep much this first night. It was just too open. Too... Oh, she might as well face it, too dark . No, she wouldn't be able to sleep at all tonight. But, despite her mind's protests, her bodies needs took over. I still haven't slept yet this month, she thought as she drifted off to sleep.[/blockquote] -------------------- I n T h e M o r n i n g ----------------------
As Alexis nodded her head up, taking in the beautiful morning sunrise.
Standing up, she brushed the dew off of her... skin?!
Oh no, I couldn't even keep my shift up when I was asleep!
Alexis was embarassed.
She thought she would be able to keep it up for a night, after fourteen years of shifting.
Realizing that it was a truly beautiful morning, Alexis, despite her better instincts, decided to spend the morning in this nice clearing she had found in the forest.
Lying down in the grass, Alexis was relaxed by the cool, dewey grass rubbing against her naked flesh. Briefly, she was disturbed by her nudity, but then it occured to her that few people would be in the woods at this hour, so she was probably safe from anybody seeing her.
At least, that was what she thought, anyways.

~ ★ ~ KILLING TIME, AND TIMES KILLING YOU.E V E R Y ∙ W A Y ∙ T H A T ∙ I ∙ D O It was a cool morning, and this really surprised the blonde haired man as he sat up and slammed the window beside his bed shut. It shook the walls a bit, and he made a mental note to mind his strength. Hah. That sounded a bit egotistical in his normally humble mind. Now, a normal person would say 'this is a summer morning, I'm gonna go back to bed and sleep a few more hours.' but the first thing to go through Barsuk's head was 'I should go take a freezing dip in the stream' and so he did. Gathering a towel, boxers, and a spare oversized tshirt with some spare pants, he shoved them all into a small black messenger bag and slung it over his shoulder, tucking the keys to his little boom closet of a living space in the back pocket of the bag.
He quickly set out on the journey to the woods before the sun came up and made the water hotter then his preferred temperature- pretty damn cold. Sprinting once he got to the edge, an idea crossed his mind. This would be so much easier as his shift, a badger, but he wouldn't be able to keep his stuff with him. Oh well. Shrugging off the thought, he finally reached the stream. With a small smile, Barsuk placed his belongings on the bank and stepped back a few feet. With a running start he launched himself off into the water. With a heavy splash, he found himself drifting in the slow currant, and as he shook his head quickly to rid his eyes of his hair and the water, Barsuk clung onto a rock to keep him stable. A strong laugh escaped him as he lay on his back and let the water carry him a few feet. Well this was fun. It reminded him of his childhood actually.. the good one.. not before he was put in a military camp and drafted. The one where him and his mother would go out and pick berries to make pies and stuff, selling them at the market and occasionally traveling to the other soviet states for short vacations.
Trying to ignore the memories, he took to dunking himself underwater, Barsuk shook his head and messed with his hair, sort of washing it in the freezing stream. After a while of this he climbed out, grimacing when a bit of mud slid along his shins. He jumped back in, made a small set of stairs out of rocks from the bottom, and wobbled his way up the side again with a suspicious lack of mud. Quickly unlatching the bag, he pulled the towel out and lightly dried his hair before stripping the wet shorts off and pulling on the new underwear and pants. Shrugging and ignoring the shirt, he wrapped the wet clothes in the towel and shoved it into the bag.
Deciding to take a walk while it was still nice out, he turned onto the opposite path to the one that would take him home and just walked. Pretty soon he reached another bend, and there under the large tree lay a body.
His lungs quit for a few seconds. There goes Barsuk, always thinking the worst. He expected her to be dead. It was a female right? Yeah. Now that he stepped closer, he could tell. Only then did he notice she was breathing. And that it was a coworker. "Erm.. privet? Hello?" he said, stepping back a bit and averting his eyes. Yes, he would admit, Barsuk Evgeni was a prude and rather creeped out by nudity. It seemed ironic, seeing as he hailed from nudity-lax europe. "Are.. you okay?" he muttered, choosing to focus on some random branch of a tree that ladybugs were seeming to favor. Only then did he realize he himself wasn't wearing a shirt, just pants. A soft blush ran across the Russian's face as his green eyes flicked to random things.
Well wasn't this awkward.
