Overall:
With long blonde hair, which pink in it, that glides to the middle of her back, soft like silk, and shiny like a new coin, Lia's hair is beautiful. Her eyes are a beautiful misty blue (almost grey) and very captivating. Her voice is so velvety soft and smooth like glass that it can charm almost any guy. It's almost as if an angel had constructing Lia's voice. While she stands a small 5'4", she knows how to fight. She knows several forms of martial arts and she can use her animal form to defend herself as well. Her animal form is a Siberian Lynx.
Though this cat is small, it's teeth, claws, and detemination make up for it's size. In her animal form, Lia's fur is a beautiful golden brown. Her stubbed tail is just over 3 inches with a black tip on it. Her eyes are a golden hazel color, very beautiful. With triangular ears, Lia has very good hearing when in her animal form. Her ears have black hair pointing upward from the tips of her ears, Her spotted coat make her a beautiful lynx. Her paws are small, but can help her travel quickly during the snowy weather and her claws help her race across soft surfaces like grass.
Her personality is a charmer. Lia loves guys who are sensitive and caring. Not like the grease monkeys who care for nothing but their precious cars. She is a sucker for guys with big arms. However, she is terrified to fall in love. She believes that falling in love will only cause pain. She likes to sing, and thinks she is very good at it. Lia is interesting in taking photography classes and cannot wait to get started. She likes to photograph all kinds of things, from animals, to nature, to even other people. Though she wouldn't ever, ever approach them.
Afraid to be alone, yet not wanting to be bothered, Lia is always trying to be around other people, but it doesn't feel right. She likes to draw, she is very good at it and can actually make life-like pictures and it impresses most people. She often draws her animal form, siberian lynx. She knows how beautiful the animal itself if and cannot get enough of it's beauty. Her room is full of her lynx drawings in different poses, like sitting, standing, laying down, crouching, etc.

She weighs a good 120 pounds, reasonable for her size. Lia's skin is slightly tan and she always keeps her nails painted pink. She has a belly peircing and has a tattoo of a lynx on her back. She has a scar that goes across her face diagnally, so that is part of the reason she doesn't go near anyone, she is afraid what they may think or say. It was a sad story how the scar came to be actually. But I'll explain that in the history.
She does wear a lot of makeup, heavy with the eye liner and mascara. She wears pink lip gloss, never lipstick. Lia always has on light pink or greyish-black eye shadow. Blush is not nessicary. She doesn't like it. Lia is always wearing her necklace that her mother gave her, she never takes it off. She wears it everywhere. She also keeps a ring that her great grandmother gave her mother, and her mother gave her, with her at all times as well. Like the necklace, she never takes it off. Lia is very paticular with looks, but never judges.
...history
Parents: Mary / dead // John / dead
Siblings: never had siblings
Born in a small Tennessee town, Lia was exposed to country life. She grew up loving horses and everything about nature. She and her mother always walked around the meadows that surrounded their small ranch that contained only a small handful of horses. Mary was her mother's name, and she was very beautiful. She had a heart shaped face with beautiful azure blue eyes that seemed to have endless kindness. Her hair went down to her waist and was a rich firebrick red that was so soft and silky to the touch. Mary's voice was that of a beautiful angel. So soft and gentle, and lyrical. It was enough to make almost anyone's heart skip a beat.
Her legs were long and tan, always walking with all the grace and beauty in the world. Her arms were long and her hands were soft as a baby's bottom. Her finger nails were always long, and painted red like her lipstick. Mary always wore the most sweet-smelling perfume. On her neck was a beautiful sapphire necklace in the shape of a heart. It glittered beautifully with the sun. On her finger was a diamond ring her grandmother had given her. Mary never took off the ring nor the necklace, no matter where she was going. Mary also always wore one pair of shoes. They were buckle strap flats sneakers. She wore them everywhere she went outside of the house.
Anyway, Lia and her mother had a special kind of bond that could last a life time, it could never EVER be broken. They spent all their time together. Mary even taught Lia about the 'gifted ones'. Lia asked who they were, and her mother said that they possesed two forms. One of man, and one of animal. Lia asked if her mother was a gifted one, and Mary said that she was. After she had said that, the beautiful woman transformed into a beautiful swan.
The feathers were whiter than newly fallen snow, a streak of black stretched over the orange bill and covered her now dark brown-black eyes. Her neck was very long, and graceful looking. The animal stretched it's wings wide to the sides, showing it's beautiful feathers. The swan waddled to a clear area and it's wings beat the air. The beautiful bird took off into flight with such grace and beauty, it stunned Lia. After a few moments, the bird reappeared and transformed back into Lia's beautiful mother.
Lia smiled and begged her mother to teach her how to turn to her animal form. The woman only responded saying that Lia had to discover it for herself. 'For I know not what your gifted form be.' Mary had said to her young and excited daughter. Disappointed, Lia went to bed that night thinking of what her animal might be. She had a dream that night, of a lynx racing through the forest with all the freedom it had in it's heart.
It moved with such grace like the swan had. It's paws tapped the earth with most silence, like a snake in the grass. It made no sound. It's eyes were a beautiful golden color. They looked concentrated on what lyed ahead of it. The tail was small, no more than 4 inches, and it pointed straight behind the majestic lynx. As it ran, it's back legs kicked up the snow that it was running in. The area was flat as paper and nothing but snow and the lynx were seen. No trees, no houses, no anything.
Then it slowed to an even more graceful trot, and then came to a walk and stopped where it stood. It's head turned slowly and Lia found herself in the dream, a good five feet from the lynx. She was mesmorized by it's beauty, smiling at the wonderous animal. Then it was looking directly at her, staring deep into Lia's misty blue eyes. At that moment, Lia felt a special connection with this animal, this lynx, and she couldn't help but smile at it. The small cat blinked and let it's jaw fall slightly, as if smiling back.
Then she was awoken by her mother. Lia rubbed her eyes and sat up. Mary asked how her slumber was, and Lia remembered her dream as if it had just happened in real life. She excitedly told her mother about the lynx, how it looked at her, and smiled at her. Mary smiled back. "If that is so, my daughter, then the lynx must be your gifted form. I dreamt of mine the way you had. It had been flying, and then landed, and it had looked right at me." Mary had said. Lia smiled, knowing now that such a beautiful creature was part of her, part of who she was.
All that day, and the days following, Mary helped her daughter to understand the power of the gift, and helped her understand how to use it. But Lia never really could transform. It was difficult and tiring. She soon gave up on it and let it go. Lia still did with her mom what she had always did before she knew of the gifted ones, walks in the meadows, horse riding, things like that. Nothing could break them apart.
That is, however, until one night. Her father came home mad. He had just gotten fired from the best job in the town. Slamming the front door shut, he scared his wife Mary and daugher Lia. Mary could see the anger in his face and told Lia to go to her room. Doing as told, Lia went to her room. But moments later, she could hear her mother and father yelling at one another.
"What do you mean I spend too much time with her!?" Mary yelled. "You're always at work, I'm the only one home to be with her!" the woman protested. "She likes you more than me Mary! I'm tired of it! Our daughter loves you more than me!" her father John yelled. He was a tall man with sleek black hair. He had a square jaw and his eyes were dark brown, almost black. His skin was quite tan, and his arms quite large with muscle. His voice was deep and frightening. He always wore whatever he found in the closet, no matter how he looked. He was much taller than Lia's mother; and yet she was never afraid of him.
"Can you really blame her, John? You are never home to be with her, to play with her, to bond with her!" Mary thundered back. Lia had never heard her mother yell like this before. It frightened her, chilled her to the bone. That beautiful voice was now loud and booming like thunder. "You never are home in time to eat any meals with her, you are never home to even talk to her, to ask her how her day was, how she is feeling, what she is thinking!" Mary said.
"Oh! I'm sorry Mary! I'm sorry that I'm working my ass off to keep this ranch, and to keep you and OUR daughter fed and healthy!" he boomed like thunder ripping the sky in two. "Why don't you just go to the bar or something, John! Calm down, and come back later!" Mary yelled. Lia had been watching through the crack of her opened door. It was opened just enough to see her mother and father. But just as Mary had yelled that, a large hand struck her face and Mary screamed, falling to the ground.
Lia flintched, but didn't scream or make a sound. "I'm not leaving this house just so you can spend time with OUR daughter!" John yelled. "It's my turn." he muttered and Lia gasped as she watched her father John turn and walk toward her room. Bolting to her bed and climbing on it quickly, she sat down just in time for her door to fly open. "Come on Kahlilia. Let's go for a walk." John said and grabbed Lia's wrist with a little more force than he intended.
She yelled from the slight pain as her father drug her toward the front door. Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to pull away, her misty blue eyes looked at her mother who was getting up. "Mommy!" Lia cried out. Seeing what was happened, Mary jumped to her feet. "No!" she screamed frantically and raced for her daughter. When she reached for Lia's outstretched hand, John yanked the six year old away and pulled her up by her wrist and settled her on his hip.
"Don't you touch her!" John bellowed. Lia was hysterical with tears. "Mommy!" she cried again. "Lia!" Mary wailed. Then she turned to John. "You let go of her right now! You're scarying her John, just let her go!" Mary demanded. "Very well." John said and his arm jerked away from the little girl, allowing her to fall. Mary's arms flew outward and caught Lia in time so just her feet grazed the floor. "Lia! Go to your room!" Mary said softly. "And stay there." Mary urged and kissed Lia's forehead. Fightened, Lia dashed to her room, closing the door behind her.
"Why do you do that, John?" Mary demanded in a quiet tone. "What? You told me to let her go, so I did just that." he said flatly. "I didn't mean like that you monster! I meant for you to just put her on her feet on the ground. Not just literally drop her!" Mary groaned with a roll of her eyes. Suddenly, she was slammed into the wall by John's strong arms.
"Don't you roll your eyes at me!" he yelled. Her arms flailed outward reflexively, slapping his shoulders and upper arms. His large hands gripped hers and pinned them to her sides. "The more you resist, the more it will hurt." he said through clentched teeth. Suddenly, Mary's hands turns to feathers, her arms into wings. Her neck stretched upward and her nose and mouth jutted out, turning bright orange. Her eyes and the area around them turned pitch black, her body shrinking and turning white. Her legs grew very narrow and orange, her feet turning into webbed feet with small black nails.
A horrible sound was heard from the beautiful swan as it beat is wings and attacked the man. Again, Lia had been watching from the moment her mother was thrown against the wall. The swan pecked at John's face with up-most savageness. Lia couldn't believe that the attacking swan was her own mother, Mary. John fell back and Lia watched as he grabbed something that shone on the inside of his coat. It wsa jerked into full view and the swan flew backward, stumbling to the ground as Mary in her human form.
Shock and fear was plastered to her face as she watched John stand and walk over to her. Lia could only see Mary's legs and knees. One knee was further up than the other. A shot was fired and the legs jolted, falling limp on the ground.
"No!" Lia cried out and rushed from her room right at John. As she jumped for him, a lynx appeared and tackled the man with ease. The claws of the small cat ripped into his face, shredding the skin and releasing the blood that was trapped underneith. Yells of pain and agony echoed in the house as John struggled to get the animal off of it.
Sharp fangs then sliced into his throat, cutting his jugular vein in half. He bled out in seconds. Lia walked to her mother who was heaving breathes of struggled life. Her white shirt was stained an ugly crimson around her stomach. Her sapphire blue eyes were wide with pain and terror. She gasped for breathe and held her stomach, pressing down on the bullet wound with struggled effort.
Her head slowly turned to look at the lynx, and a smile formed on Mary's face. "You did it, sweety. You did it all on your own." Mary gasped. Then Lia appeared in her human form, tears rolling down her face like a waterfall. "Mommy! Don't leave!" Lia sobbed. "I haven't a choice, my angel. The Lord needs me at his side." Mary panted.
"But you can't go!" Lia cried out. "I love you Lia, and only you. Take my necklace, and my ring. And cherish them forever. Remember what you and I had together." Mary said. Her hands shook as she removed the ring and placed it in Lia's hands, and she did the same with the necklace. Lia sobbed as she threw them both down and hugged her dying mother. "I love you." Mary whispered and her body went limp.
Days came and went, and Lia refused to leave her mother's body. The police came after four days to see what was up, and why there had been no activity in the home. They found the bodies of Mary and John, and saw a lynx at Mary's. Frightened, an officer pulled his gun on the lynx, but stopped. He noticed the human like look it had in it's frightened, gold eyes.
He had heard of the gifted ones, and wondered if this lynx was one of them. He squatted on his heels and stared at the animal. It stared back with curiosity, fright, and slight anger. As the officer took a step forward, the lynx's fur bristeled like the quils of a porquipine and the animal bared it's teeth, hissing at the officers.
They gave Lia time to relax, to get used to their presence, and then she transformed into her human form. The police asked her questions about her parents, and, in tears, she told them what had happened that night. They took her to an orphanage run by an elderly lady who was a little 'loose in the mind'. Already uncomfortable, Lia snuck out that night with only a necklace around her neck, and a ring on her finger.
A lynx appeared on the street and bolted for the nearest forest. Still to this day, Lia never forgave her father for what he had taken from her.
...connecting human to animal
Lia and the lynx are connected in ways that both are solitary. The lynx is independant, and doesn't need anything but itself. Lia has been by herself and living independantly since the age of 8 when she ran away from an orphanage. Lia has a great sense of hearing and sight, as does the lynx. The Lynx is a nocturnal hunter, and though Lia doesn't hunt at night, she spends a lot of time out in the night.

Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Time never seemed to go fast enough. Not lately, anyway. It was the last day of school for the year and time seemed to freeze. Lia couldn't stand the wait. Summer was just minutes away. Freedom was just minutes away. Lia would spend her summer in her animal form, practicing transformation and practicing her fighting in her animal form. She had it all planned out. The teacher's voice was loud, it drowned out all the whispered that was going on behind Lia. She knew they were talking about her.
Everyone always talked about Lia. A lot of rumors were about her, actually. Some were true, some where not. A lot were just assumptions. And some about her past. A few of the students always talked about 'I heard her dad killed her mom.' and it really irritated Lia to the point of attack. She wasn't usually violent, but these people were really testing her patience. She just sighed and finally, time seemed to speed up as the bell rang and everyone sprang from their chairs. But by this time, Lia was already out the door.
She was more than happy to get away from this prison everyone called school. Yeah, she was smart, didn't mean she had to like school. She got A's on all her papers and tests. No wonder why some people called her a geek. But it didn't bother Lia. If they didn't want to study, do homework, and be smart; well, it wasn't Lia's problem.
She walked quickly across the school yard. Stopping by the edge of the forest a good 50 yards from the school. Lia's body shrank and formed into that of a lynx. She looked over her shoulder as someone threw something at her. A wad of paper. She just sighed and disappeared into the forest. Why were people so mean to her? What did she ever do to them? Why could Lia just live her highschool life and get out of it.
Sighing as she walked with her head and tail drooped, Lia's thoughts drifted toward Mary, her beautiful mother. At the thought of the beautiful woman, a smile crossed the lynx's lips. Well, that is if a lynx could smile. She wondered what her mother would say to her right now. She wondered what her mother would do right now. She sighed as she realized she came to a clearing and noticed it was night.
"Why did you leave?" Lia whispered, looking up at the sparkling sky. A tear rolled down her cheek as she closed her eyes.
