BASIC INFO
- We have decided that we are going to get rid of 6th graders on the board. We can’t see them being that popular and the fact that they might just be too young. We understand that Shifting starts when your 13 but the grade just doesn’t seem too popular, so 7-12 is what we’re going to go for right now
- Human characters are in HIGH demand and it’s obvious that with what the board has to offer and what it’s about, it may not be people’s first choice to play a human. However, we do need humans and ask that if you are going to make another account, give it a thought or two to make it a human who doesn’t attend the school (though it is ultimately entirely up to you
) - Just so we’re all on the same page. Shifter Academy is NOT teaching right now as far as classes goes and stuff. Your characters are free to stay here but it is summer vacation and we will be having some cool and interesting twists throughout the summer. Though you need to understand that there are no classes in the summer ;D Just so we’re all on the same page!
)NEW STAFF
The staff have talked it over, and we have decided to welcome Shaggy to our list of staff members. Shaggy is a very welcoming and friendly person who is capable of handling situations to a great extent. This position was up in the air for a couple of people, and we have a list of people who we think will be good for a staff position should another position come up

- We have decided that to post in an RP event you only need to post 200 words or more ONLY for Summer Madness posts Hopefully this will bring some more attention there.
- If you are NOT on a team yet, please PM Head of Administration and they will place you on a team
- We have decided that we are going to take this week to think over and finalalize ALL of the events so that we don’t have to rush at the end of every week. Event 2 will resume on Sunday June 20th Keep your eyes out!
NEWSPAPER COMMITTEE
Think you've got the writing skills needed to write some great articles from Shifter Academy? Think you can come up with some juicy gossip news? Think you can tell us what's hot and what's not? Are you good at giving advice?
If you said yes to any of these questions then the Newspaper Committee is for you! We will be opening up an application thread very shortly for the people that this interests ;D We are going to give a Newspaper for the school a go and see if we can pull this off. If done right, this can be a fantastic addition to the board and the school. If your interested, please apply in the thread that should be created within 15 minutes of this post in the Announcements board
ACTIVITY CHECK REMINDER

YAHTZEE!
I'm sure you've all experienced it. That satisfaction of "Hey, let's thread this because it would be so funny/cool/awesome/hilarious." Then you're posting..and posting.....and posting. And it kind of starts getting repetitive? You know, dialogue dialogue dialogue, movement movement movement. Well, the days of that kind of role play is over! Here at Shifter Academy, we like to keep things active and keep people on their toes and that's why we're introducing...
YAHTZEE!
The account that bites back!
When one of the staff members thinks that a thread is becoming a little too stagnant or a little too perfect, we'll call on our good friend Mr. YAHTZEE. He's great with spicing things up. Here's how he works:
Let's say you've got a thread going on with Person 2.
You post.
Person 2 posts.
You post.
Person 2 posts.
YAHTZEE! - A wild, rabies infested dog suddenly comes out of the bushes that you were beating around, aiming for your throat!
And then you go from there! Yahtzee is a way to deal with sudden situations and other occurances of nature. Such as Yahtzee could make it suddenly start raining on your lovely little picnic. Or make the lights go out when you're enjoying a student concert.
The only way to avoid Yahtzee events is to put a little disclaimer at the beginning of your thread, asking Yahtzee not to disturb. Because we're not going to barge in on ALL of your threads because that'd just be rude. But Yahtzee will be around enough for you guys to stay interested!
OF THE MONTHS
If you're familiar with role playing sites like our's, you know that Of The Months are really awesome. We, at the Shifter Staff, want to bring that around to Shifter Academy so we're going to start Of The Months, beginning with June!
Firstly, it will be divided into Character of the Month, Thread of the Month, and Member of the Month. Character of Month should be the character that you think was most involved with the site plots and other interesting activities. Thread of the Month can be the thread you love reading the most or the thread that just seemed to be a perfect thread. The ones allowed here would be threads started within that month. Member of the Month should be the member of our site that you think was the most dedicated for that month.
Nominations of these Of The Months will be done through a thread in which you're allowed to get on and nominate various people, characters, and threads for Of The Months. These nomination will be tallied and then a thread will be made for voting.
Nominations will start on the 20th of the month and go to the 25th and then the actual voting will be on the 26th to the end of the month. The first day of the month is the declaration of the winners. Remember! Please only vote with one of your accounts!
We'll be starting with this month (June), so get ready to post your nominations on the 20th!
