Likes:(at least 10)
- History: It's pretty much always intrigued her since she spent her childhood carted around archeological sites and reading up on all the cultures her parents were studying.
- Culture: She's seen a bunch of them, past and present. Nora's never grown up in one specific culture, so she likes learning all about them.
- Traveling: Again, Nora never really had one home. She has spent her entire life bumming around the world. Traveling is all she knows.
- Swimming: It's something her mom used to do when she was younger. She was incredibly gifted and passed it on to her daughter. Nora loves the feel of rushing through water.
- Running: This girl moves fast! She didn't have a lot of the things many other kids had growing up, and when she couldn't swim, she ran... everywhere. It's also how she gets rid of stress.
- Midnight: Nora is definitely a nighttime girl. She has always been nocturnal. If she could give up being awake during the day, she'd definitely do it.
- New foods: Along with all the new cultures she experiences, Nora gets to try a lot of new foods. She absolutely loves trying something she's never had before, and there are few things that she doesn't like.
- Old friends: Nora's not one for new people, so her favorite things in the world are her old friends. There are two other kids that were carted around with her parents team and they were super close.
- Family: Since Nora doesn't have a strong friend base, her family became really important to her. Her mom and her dad are her world. She loves them to death.
- Being on her own: Although she has a few friends and a close bond with her parents, Nora's pretty solitary. She does well on her own, and she's okay with not hanging out with others.
Dislikes: (at least 10)
- New people: They just scare her really... Nora has almost no people skills.
- Mornings: This comes from staying up all night. Waking up in the morning is not really an option for this girl.
- Her eyes: They suck... Her eyesight is horrendous.
- Staying in one place for too long: She's moved her whole life, so sticking around is difficult for her.
- Aggressiveness: Nora's really relaxed and go with the flow. She doesn't like when people get up in her face over things.
- Cold weather: A lot of her parents' work kept her in warmer climates, so she doesn't like the cold.
- Cheaters: She's never really been in a relationship, but she can't stand people that aren't true to their loved ones. There was an incident at the base once that made her feel this way.
- Conventionality: Nora's life isn't normal, and that's the way she likes it. Anything that most people deem normal just seems dull to her.
- Being patient: Nora doesn't like aggressive people, and she's not one herself, but she doesn't like to wait around for things. When she knows what she wants, she works towards it and quickly.
- History textbooks: They are horribly written and leave out a lot. She knows this first hand.
Fears: (At least 3)
- Big animals: She's seen a lot of them, and they just frighten her.
- Losing the past: She's been surrounded by it and sees how special it is. Nora's always been afraid that others won't see this and forget it.
- Cities: They're too crowded and full of things she doesn't like.
Strengths: (At least 3)
- Inquisitive: She likes to learn to things, and she questions a lot.
- Caution: It takes Nora a while to get around to something because she never jumps into it. She's really cautious and so sometimes she seems boring, but it makes her think everything through.
- Quirkiness: Most "normal" people think she's weirder than the Eiffel Tower upside down, but it makes her who she is and she's confident of that.
Weaknesses: (At least 3)
- Eyesight: Previously mentioned, it's one of her biggest downfalls.
- Shyness: It keeps her back from some new things on the social front. She has a lot to offer that's just kept pent up.
- Quirkiness: It's a blessing and a curse. It turns people off sometimes. Nora can just be too weird to be around.
Overall: Nora is very different than other sixteen year old girls. She hasn't lived any conventional life, and the way she is really shows that. She's not bubbly or social. If someone hasn't been her friend for a vast amount of years, they'll probably not know a thing about her. It's because Nora doesn't open up much and she doesn't really understand how to get along with people. The majority of her circle has been her parents and their coworkers. Well, some of them are skeletons, but they don't really count. It's not like she pushes people away. Nora just doesn't really grasp how to get along with others. She's never one to make the first move because she's super shy and she's sort of afraid of new people. This is super strange because Nora is used to new situations and places but just not people.
When it's not people, Nora loves trying new things. She likes to learn about cultures: food, dancing, habitats, history. It's how she grew up and it still interests her to this day. So when it comes to things, Nora's just the girl to try something new. She likes to take cultures on and learn them inside out. Her favorite is the foods. She's not a picky eater and she loves, loves, loves eating. It's where she's most adventurous, and she doesn't want people holding her hand.
Nora is very independent. Her parents, although always around, were often very busy with their job. Nora would wander around the sites or bases, but she also would just read a lot. Many of her activities were solitary like swimming or running. She got comfortable in that pattern. Even as she grew up and finally made friends with some of the other kids on the bases, she was still quite a bit of a loner. Unless someone asked her along, she stayed by herself. Nora also learned to do things for herself. She didn't like asking for help for things and so took the initiative. Whenever she can, Nora will do it on her own.
Since she's always on her own, Nora learned to do things her own way. She liked things that way. It wasn't challenged a lot, so she got very comfortable. As she got older and had to be pushed in certain directions, Nora proved to be very adamant in her decisions. She's one to do her own thing, but also in her own way. It's a my-way-or-the-highway type of living for her, although she's not aggressive about it. Nora will avoid situations in which she can't do things her own way and is another reason why she avoids other people because they complicate her way of life.
Nora's also a very active person. She doesn't like sitting around much. Sure, she can sit and read a book for hours, but she always fidgets. It's hard for her to sit still for long, so she turned to running and swimming. If she's not hanging around the sites or reading, that's what she's doing. It keeps her on her own, but it also keeps her healthy and in shape, which is fairly important to her.
Now when she's not running and being active, she is reading because she wants to learn so much. She's really inquisitive and she has a knack for digging to the bottom of things. Her upbringing definitely played a big part in this. Since she was surrounded by her parents and other people searching for the answers to mysteries long buried and forgotten, Nora had a spark in her from a very young age to find the truth. It's been a spark that turned into a little flame in her heart that she's been trying to douse for years with learning. It hasn't worked, so she's still trying to figure it all out.

Appearance: [400 words minimum]
It's pretty simple to explain the basic looks like eye and hair color, weight, clothing, piercings, tattoos, make-up, and other extra things. You also must go into detail about what the animal portion of your character looks like. If you're a snake, great but what kind of snake, what do you look like etc. Both of these are important and must be explained as detailed and as thoroughly as possible[/size]
...history
Parents:
Siblings:
[400 words minimum]
Although it says 400 words, we still need you to be thorough. Family MUST be mentioned along with young childhood and adolescence. This character is, in essense, you, so make sure you are providing yourself with enough background to roleplay them. Keep in mind that shifting is genetic, so somewhere in your family there must be more shifting going on. Also, you must describe the day you shifted for the first time.
...connecting human to animal
[One Paragraph Minimum (Can be point form)]
Explain why your character shifts into the animal that it does. Why is it this animal and not a different one? Is it your courage? Your adventure seeking personality? Your hawk-like eyes? Tell us about the connection between your human and inner animal. And please don't say "It was their favorite animal growing up." Good resources to understand this better are questions 6 and 7 in the FAQ's.
