Loki sat down and looked around curiously at the few people he saw walking around or doing what ever it was they were doing. He remembered he had had a cup of coffee in his hand and he put it on the table in front of him and looked at it debating on drinking it or just looking at it. He wasn't sure of much this was a new place for him he thought it odd to have an island for people like him, people who weren't human. He wasn't going to complain though it meant he got away from his past, right?
He looked back at his coffee and picked it up taking a sip, he smiled as the hot coffee spilled down his throat and slowly warmed his whole body making him smile even bigger. He sighed still feeling not quite awake enough to handle much of anything let alone the thought of being somewhere he had never been before. He shrugged and thought to himself "Hey this is a new chance to meet people, a chance for an adventure. Come on Loki, it'll be fun!!". He took another sip almost purring as it warmed him. He ran his fingers through his hair looking at people around him some he wondered about, others he found attractive, some he just knew it'd be a good idea not to even meet them, and finally the people he knew would never notice him. Well that part meshed with the people who he liked bit but, oh well they aren't the same.
He finally found something to focus on and he stared at it making sure it wasn't a person so not to freak someone out, he started letting his broad mind rush with ideas, pictures, names, faces, sounds, animals. Then he stopped for a moment remembering his dad, his body shivered and he again shrugged forgetting about it. He smelt the air and in one small breath smelt a million and more different animal species he kind of jumped back in his seat unsure how weather to feel proud of what he was or intimidated by the other powerful creatures in the room. He relaxed smiling pridefully putting it aside and then he smelt the air again smelling the air for smaller animals, not so he could stalk them as prey but to know who was what so in case he got close to them he wouldn't hurt them, like he had hurt people from his past.

Summer walked into the lounge not knowing what to find. She had been to her dorm, to find no one there. Her other friends at this place were busy, people from back where she lived no longer associated with her. But, odd enough, she felt fine. She decided to partly blame it on the cheetah inside of her. Since the cheetah urged her (most of the time) to be on her own, or to find just one person to live with, she had gotten used to the feeling of being somewhat empty. Now, as she entered the warm atmosphere of the lounge, the cheetah started to purr. She smiled to herself as she let the cheetah drift off into a peaceful sleep.
With the cheetah now dozing, she was able to act as if nothing was wrong. That feeling lasted only a brief second as the cheetah automatically woke up. Ears pricking, nose taking in the scent around her. Summer's heart rate automatically increased. Usually the cheetah only did this when she was in danger. As her eyes scanned the area, she thought nothing was wrong. She instantly became confused. The cheetah yearned to come out still. Feeling something was off. Summer held back the cheetah until it grew bored of the thought and sat back to watch. Though, she felt that nothing real exciting would happen, you never knew with some of the people she met and the cheetah knew this.
As she walked further into the room, she finally took in how many people were there. Yes, there were some cute guys, but a lot of them seemed pushy. Now, with her attitude sometimes, you would think that Summer would be just like that. But, that was not the case in the slightest. She continued to look around the room until she came to the little kitchen that it had. When she reached into the fridge and pulled out a soda, the cheetah became excited for the rush it would feel. Summer smiled to her self before closing the fridge and turning back around to find somewhere to sit.
Her eyes finally rested on a chair that was empty. When she looked to the other chair that was at the table, she mentally ginned to herself and the cheetah lifted its lips until it was smiling to. Yes, Summer could smell the shift of the guy. Yes, she knew it was a cat. Did she care, not really. Well, this should be fun. The cheetah part though. Summer just rolled her eyes and walked over. As she put her hand on the chair, she looked to the guy. "Is this chair taken?"

He looked up at the girl quickly looking her over, he smiled at her thinking to him self "this girl is actually cute and doesn't seem to bad". He looked up at her and said " oh no not at all, feel free to sit down." He picked up his coffee taking a drink, the coffee slowly but surely was waking up his inner Lynx. He took a small breath in, so he wouldn't overwhelm him self with smells.
He held that breath for a second and smelt that she was a Feline just like him, not the same species most likely, but a cat none the less. He smiled and relaxed feeling safe knowing she wasn't a wolf or some big dog like that. He looked over at her and said "Hello, My names Loki, And what might yours be?". He felt odd that he hadn't introduced himself when he had told her it was okay to sit down. It wasn't like him to forget his manors, but this was different she seemed very pretty in his eyes.
He bit the side of his lip unsure of what to say, so he smiled, took another sip of coffee. Now feeling his inner lynx wide awake and happy to know that Loki was already making friends, not to mention cute friends at that. Loki Chuckled at the voices in his head and took the last sip of coffee from the cardboard cup. then he set it down and asked "So if you don't mind me asking whats your shift, you don't have to tell me but i think it'd be cool to know?".
Loki looked at the girl puzzled guessing in his mind what kind of cat she could have been, so many Felines ran through his mind but none of them seemed to quite fit her. He finally gave up on guessing to himself and smiled at the girl in front of him. He wondered to himself what was wrong with him normally he was just fine around girls he found pretty, but this girl wasn't like the others, She wasn't human. Loki guessed thats what made it harder for him cause she had that little bit more in common with him then other girls he had liked before. He wasn't complaining he actually liked the fact that she wasn't human because it meant that she wasn't fragile like humans were.

Summer pulled the chair out and sat down. Her hands automatically placing her cellphone and soda on the table. Her phone was on silent because she didn't want to be bothered by the noises or vibrations from it. Well, not right now. Once she was comfortably seated, she looked at the boy across from her. He was fairly cute. Not in that super bad boy way, or geeky way. But, in that just ion the middle way. When he spoke up, her face remained neutral with a hint of a smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Hmm... interesting name. Mine's Summer." She said this as her smile finally taking effect.
Summer opened up her soda and took a sip of it. The coldness automatically sending the cheetah to the back of her mind, but then it seemed to become totally relaxed. Not like it would be later. She looked out the window to see a light rain falling against the window. Yay. She thought in mock enthusiasm. While the cheetah didn't really like water, Summer loved the rain, to a certain extent that is. She hated it when it was a total downpour, but she loved a softly pouring rain. It looked as if it might turn into this later. Her smile only increased the slightest inch when she thought this.
As she turned back to Loki, she heard him ask about her shift. "It's no problem. It's the king cheetah. What about yours?" She asked him back. Yes, some people would think it weird to say king cheetah instead of cheetah, but she thought it made a difference. The king cheetah's seemed to stand out more than the regular cheetahs since they were rare. As she awaited his answer, she thought about her brother. Her brother and herself had both changed into cats. Herself taking the cheetah, and her brother taking a serval. She smiled at this small thought. Wishing that he were still here.
Summer looked at him trying to figure out what he would be mastering in. Figuring that it could be anything, she thought it would be better just to ask. "So, what are you here for?" No one would probably guess that she was a good dancer, and not the ballerina kind either, or that she worked on cars and climbed trees. But, that was just a part of her brother that he left behind. Well, that is if he really did die. The cheetah was now more alert than ever and focusing the amber eyes on the boys across from them.

Loki Smiled at Summer and said "My Shift is a Canadian Lynx." his words painted with his Irish accent. Although most would say whats the difference between bobcats and lynx's Loki knew that Lynxes were bigger not by much but they were. He smiled looking around, then back to the girl across from him. Then it clicked in his mind, why hadn't he thought of a King Cheetah, it suited her well from what he could tell. He looked her over carefully and closely, Smirking deviously. He looked back up to see her gorgeous blue-Green eyes looking at him. He replied to the question she had asked, "I'm here for Singing. I love singing, What are you here for?". He then looked around the room, then back to her.
He wasn't sure what to say, or do then finally it came to mind what he would say. He Smiled at her "You've Got really pretty eyes, you know that right?" his words coated in his accent. He bit his upper lip unsure of weather he should have said what he had just said or not. He was unsure of her reaction, he didn't want to get yelled at, but he wasn't lying .He really did think of her as pretty, he had just met her though. He sighed then grabbed his back pack off the floor pulling out a small little pill bottle. He tapped the bottom of the tube and looked at the two little pills in the palm of his hand put them in his mouth taking the water bottle out of his bag and taking a sip and swallowing the pills. He smiled as the voices in his head came to a halt so he didn't have any detractions.
He looked at her curiously unsure of what to do or say yet again, he ran his fingers through his golden brown hair to brush it out of his face. He Looked at her and asked "So How bout the rain, what do you think of it? i like it." He smiled figuring she wouldn't like it since she was a cheetah but he was a lynx and he liked it so maybe she was like that too. Loki thought to himself about what to say to her that wouldn't make him sound like a total player, which he wasn't at all he was actually very loyal as a friend and a boyfriend.

Summer looked back up at him when he finally answered. Interesting. A singer and a lynx. Once she had heard him say lynx the cheetah gave a slight smirk, knowing fully that it would be able to outrun it in a heartbeat. She tsked the cheetah in thought just to make it be quiet for now. It resided once again with a slight hiss. Summer answered his question with a smile. "Dancing, got to love it. Not the ballerina stuff though. The dancing like in Step Up. Freestyle as one may call it." Summer had been into dancing for as long as she had been alive. Her mom had tried to get her into being a ballerina, but Summer would just not have it in the slightest. Finally, her mom had given up and let her do what she wanted.
When she heard him talk about her eyes, she couldn't help the little blush. No matter how hard she tried. "Thanks." She said with a laugh. As she watched him take out the little pill bottle, she wondered what was in there. But, she didn't want to intrude too much on his life, as they had just met. She rested her elbows on the table after taking another sip of her soda. The chill and fizz automatically bring the cheetah back to the conversation that was going on. Her elbows now resting on the table, so it would appear as if she was leaning on it, she looked at him a little more fully. As she watched him move his hair out of his eyes, a thought came to her mind.
Just as she was about to ask it, he spoke. The thought left her mind as it wasn't that important anyways. She smiled a little bigger to where you could see her teeth. "Uhh... part of me loves it, while the other doesn't. If you know what I mean." The other part she was referring to was the cheetah that now perked it's ears at hearing about the rain. "I mean, I like it as long as it doesn't start pelting down. This soft rain, and a little bit harder is just fine." Her lips once again covered her lips as the smile grew a tiny bit smaller. But, it still stayed on her face. "So, what's it like being a lynx?" She asked curious as to how the life of a lynx may lead.

He smiled at her once he heard that she liked to dance, he had always liked to dance but he was never as good at it as he was with singing. His inner lynx laughed telling Loki so a cheetah and a dancer, huh? sounds like fun. Loki looked at Summer and said " the pills are to control my...Mental disorder." He scrunched up his nose awkwardly not liking the fact he had the mental disorder he had. He looked up at her Smirking Playfully "I understand the deal with the rain and i defiantly understand the part about not liking the rain when it comes down in bucketfuls."
He looked out the window at the rain and the rain unfortunately triggered a memory from the past. It was the day of his birthday, or the day of his first shift. It was a light rain and then it flashed in his mind to him looking over her body. He flashed back to real life and realized his hands were at the side of his head tugging at the fistfuls of hair. He shook his head trying to shake off the memory of what he had done those years ago. He looked back at Summer, who probably though he had lost his mind entirely. He Blinked a few times catching his breath then looked back to her and whispered " i'm sorry, i just had a bit of a flash back from my past, a past i'm trying to forget."
He kept his eyes on her awaiting an answer to spill out from her lips like the sun spilling out through rain clouds after a storm had past. He slowly grabbed his water bottle taking a drink from it. His inner lynx was practically yelling at him for something he couldn't control, He didn't want remember what he had done, Not even in the slightest. His lynx Roared about how he would loose another friend all too his stupid flashbacks and unstable mind.
He grabbed his water bottle and put it back in his bag along with the small bottle of pills, that were spouse to keep him from having flash backs like that. He zipped up his back pack and looked down at the table feeling like he had made a total fool of himself and in front of a very pretty girl who could have turned out to be a good friend if not more, which he now doubted anything like that would happen. All because of the way he had just snapped, and lost his cool.

Summer laughed after he had. Of course he would understand, he was also part cat. Well, in a way. She just nodded her head not really saying anything when he talked about the disorder. She honestly couldn't care less. Some would think that she would have some type of mental problem from basically watching her brother die before her eyes. But, she guessed that having a younger sibling to worry about, had brought her back from her depression that she had been in. She turned to look out of the window. Her eyes starting to focus on every drop of rain. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" She turned back to see Loki tugging at his hair.
Summer was about to get up when she saw him stop. As he explained why he had done that, her worried expression softened. She gave a small chuckle as he started to look as if they would not be friends because of it. She got up and slipped her phone into her pocket. As she walked over to his side, she put her hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it's alright. Don't worry about it. Anyone here has some type of problem. I mean I have a fear of drowning and I constantly replay an image in my head of my brother dying before my very eyes. That day I couldn't do anything." Her hand dropped to where his lay.
"But, I got through it. With the help of friends and my family. If you need it, I have an ear that loves to hear people talk." She laughed at herself slightly. A mischievous smiled danced on her lips. "Come on. You need some cheering up." Summer put her hand around his and pulled him up from the table. Not caring if he resisted or not. She would use all her strength to get this boy outside under the rain, which was starting to fall a little quicker.

Loki Reacted quickly and protectively as the lights flashed out he grabbed Summers' hand a little tighter and pulled her close to him. He didn't do it intentionally he did it out of instinct and protectiveness. He let his eyes adjust and he looked around unsure of what to do now and not wanting to go outside and risk his or her lives. He looked at her and asked "Well what now?". He smiled warmly at her, a smile that he hoped would get the message across that he wasn't going to let her get hurt. He then realized how dark it had been before he had let his night vision come into play. He wondered if she could even see him. He wrapped his arms around her ribs and then asked "Are you okay, and Can you see anything?" remembering that she too was a cat that had to hunt in the night he realized that was a bit of a dumb question to ask but, hey not all shifter are exactly the way they should be, maybe her Cheetah was blind but she wasn't he thought to himself. He snapped Back into reality as he heard yet another Crack of thunder and a flash of lightning and a few kids screamed." He looked down at her and all of a sudden felt very protective over her and wasn't sure why. He then said as calmly as he could with thunder going on "Maybe we can go out side once the Lightning gets farther away." He carefully pulled her close to him and started humming the song: "Here Without You" by 3 doors down. He stopped halfway through to look down at her to see on her face what appeared to be a smile, of course he could have been wrong but, oh well. He then asked her something "So if it isn't to nosey of me to ask, What grade are you in?".He wasn't trying to be nosey obviously he was just curious i mean after all he didn't want to be unknowingly flirting with some 7th grader. He'd feel like a total creep if she wasn't at least in her sophomore year of high school. Any grade younger then that and he just felt like a creeper. He snapped back from his thoughts and looked at her and said "I'm glad i got to meet you even though we didn't get to go play in the rain." Clothing

OUTFIT HERE!!! (Totally forgot about this lol)
As soon as the first thunder rolled in, Summer knew what the cheetahs reaction was going to be. It had never liked thunder or lightning. Although, She did think it looked cool from far away. But, hitting the spot where they were just about to leave was not good, especially as relaxed as the cheetah had been. Just like Summer thought, the cheetahs ears got pinned against its head. The tail started flicking back and forth as the eyes lowered into close splits. A hiss came out of it's throat as the lips came over the teeth, showing all the sharp teeth. As this happened, the scruff and the coat along the ridge stood up.
Yes, not the best reaction at all. Coming back up from her mind, Summer noticed that she was now up against Loki. A small blush crept over her face and she was glad he probably didn't see it. "Yeah, I can see perfectly fine. What about you?" She asked him back wondering if his eyesight was as good as her's in the dark. Even though he was a lynx, she didn't know how active they were at night, so she didn't really know if he had good night vision. She tried to soothe the cheetah down by taking deeper breathes but nothing seemed to get through to it. This will not be good, especially if I can't get her under control. Her mind thought about what might help.
After a couple minutes she heard him talk about going outside once the thunder and lightning stopped. "Hmm.. that sounds good. As long as it doesn't start up again." She replied back. If she had been by herself, she didn't know how much longer the cheetah could be held back, but being in his arms, was making feel somewhat protected and more calm than she would be right now. When he started humming, she instantly knew the song, but the cheetah didn't. Summer could sense it's right ear slowly lifting up while the left stayed pinned down. It started swiveling to listen. It's entire stance got somewhat relaxed and Summer couldn't help but smile.
"Eleventh." Summer found herself answering without a second thought. Figuring he did it for certain reason, Summer thought it be best if she asked to. "What grade are you in?" She said while lifting up her head which had fallen against him after a little while. She turned it to look out the window and then back at him. "Back at you." She said replying to his last comment. Her arms wrapped around him to give him a hug. But, instead of dropping them, she let them stay there.

He Smiled Down at her and Replied "my eye sight is pretty good in that dark just about as good as when its light out.". He jumped lightly at the loud cracks of thunder. Ever since he was little he hated thunder it was loud and since he was a lynx it made his ears more sensitive too it, making it even louder. He felt his inner lynx hiss and snarl and the loud cracks coming from the sky. He inhaled deeply trying to sooth his inner lynx and keep Summer close by and safe. He knew if Summers' cheetah was like any of the other wild cats that it too most likely didn't like thunder or lightning when it was close enough to kill.
Loki wasn't sure why but he all of a sudden felt very protective over Summer. Maybe it was his inner lynx, or maybe it was the effects that his past were having on him. Either way he didn't care why as long as he actually kept her safe. He then heard her say something like"as long as it doesn't start back up.". He smiled down at her and said " oh no of course not, i understand the dislike of thunder.". He smiled and slowly started running his fingers across where his hand had rested slowly rubbing her back to try and calm her down. Even though at this point he was as alert as ever and worried beyond all reason.
He slowly took deep breaths to calm the lynx inside him then he replied to her question quickly "I'm in Eleventh also.". Loki grinned as Summer replied to his comment then after a few moments had passed he felt her hug him but this wasn't an ordinary hug. She didn't let her arms fall after the hug, so Loki did what he thought he should and wrapped his arms around her waist hugging her close to him as he looked around the room slightly more relaxed.
He didn't know why but she made him feel more relaxed, much more calm and at ease then he normally would have been in a storm like this. He then looked down at her and just smiled at her and this wasn't just a quick glance like the other looks he had given her this was a gaze. he couldn't help but look at her, she was just so beautiful in his eyes.

Summer looked up at Loki. Her eyes held his when he finally looked down at her. Just to be on the safe side, as she was sure that her blush was getting worse by the second, she put her head under his head and rested against his chest. For the time it was there, it felt completely natural and it was as if that was what she was supposed to do. Her eyes closed as she breathed in his scent. Now, if they chose to talk after this little day, which she was pretty sure they would, she could just follow her nose in case she got lost. Granted, it wasn't as strong as a canines, but it was dam near close enough. "So, you never answered my question," her lips showed a smile that was quite nice, that hinted on being content, "what is it like to be a lynx?"
As she continued to lean against him, she felt him pulling her a little closer, which she allowed. After a couple minutes she frowned. Realizing that her dad should have called or texted her by now. He had told her when she left that he would check on her around this time. She let the frown return to a slight smile when she removed her arms from around Loki and fished her phone out of her pocket. Duh, I had turned it off. once it was back on, she looked through her texts and sure enough, there were messages from her dad. Boy, were they full of worry.
Making sure not to pull to far away from Loki, as she wanted to stay in his arms where she felt safe, she quickly replied to the text that had read Hey, just checking in on you. I heard there was going to be a storm heading in the islands direction. She didn't really care if Loki was reading the texts also as it was just her dad and it was nothing big. She hastily replied back, Yeah dad. It just really hit a couple minutes ago, both me and my cheetah are okay now. She slipped the phone back in her pocket, making sure to put it on vibrate this time.
As Summer looked back out the window, her arms wound their way around Loki's neck and she started to absentmindedly play with his hair that was on the back of his head. "It doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon." She said with a slight hint of sadness in her voice." Her cheetah was now calm. Once he had started to rub her back, the cheetah had eased slightly. It's tail was still twitching, but the face held contempt now. Hey, look what you can get without any help from me. The cheetah said to her. Summer laughed at this and couldn't help but smile. He would probably think she was crazy, but she would explain to him if he asked. Well, a certain degree of it at least.
Summer's eyes came back to see him still staring at her. This time though, she held his gaze and continued to look at him. She was falling more and more for this boy with every second that passed.

He laughed and had forgotten that she had asked and said "Well um.. it's defiantly more fun then being human sometimes, and i like being able to run fast feel the wind against my face. all that,So whats it like to be a Cheetah?" he asked curiously his accent kicking back into his words. He looked away politely not wanting to be or seem nosey as she replied to her text messages he then head a really loud crack of thunder and his muscles all tensed in fear. He un-tensed remembering that Summer was there and he had made himself a promise to keep her and her cheetah safe. He Smiled down at her warmly as he felt her fingers start to play with the curls that fell on the back of his neck. Then said "No it really doesn't look like its letting up at all if anything its getting worse."
Loki sighed not liking the fact the rain was getting worse, but he put that aside remembering that Summer was here to keep him company. He liked the fact that he had met someone that he like and not just as a friend as someone he could possibly date one day. He smiled at that thought and he laughed thinking about the fun they would have if they were together. Loki smiled looking down at her as they gazed into each others eyes he smiled unsure of what to say or do.
Apart of him knew it was the right thing to do and just stand there looking into each others eyes but, another part of him slightly wanted to lean in a little closer and kiss her. He told himself no, and slowly realized how hard he was really falling for her. Quicker and quicker by the moment it seemed like a dream but he knew it wasn't it was to real, to breath taking, and of course to impossible. He wouldn't have dreampt up something that creative like a thunderstorm to keep her with him like this. He sighed coming back to reality as he looked back down at her. Loki gently moved his hand up to the back of her head and gently ran it down to her lower back, in a way he was trying to tell her "I'm here for you, I'll keep you safe.". He bite his lip realizing he hadn't only said that in his head but out loud.

The cheetah and Summer automatically smiled when he asked what it was like. "The running is absolutely perfect. The wind intermingling with your coat and your tail the only thing that is helping with balance." She put three fingers up to her lips and pushed them away with a little kissing sound. "Magnificent." Her fingers once again went back up to the back of his neck. "Well, there is also the climbing. but, defiantly not as good as the running. Nothing beats that." She ended with a small chuckle. Her mind played the images of her brother and herself running through the woods chasing each other while playing tag. He would always jump into the trees, but she would run away super fast.
The cheetah gave a small sound as the memories came flooding to it to. It shook it's head and tried to rid them from Summer's head. It had missed her brother almost as much as she did. Summer gave a deep sigh and put her head against him once again. A smile still playing across her lips as she remembered all the good memories. She was brought to the present with crash of thunder as his arms tightened around her. She closed her eyes wishing it away. Not really realizing until after a few seconds that her hands had tightened their hold around his neck. She released most of the pressure but her hands still stayed there. Her face held an apologetic smile, but she was unsure if he could see it. As she looked at him from where her head lay, she thought about what may happen if they became more than friends.
Of course it would be quite fun as they were both felines and they probably had close to the same fears. This could cause something laughing between them. Some day they could probably even run in their shifts together. She smiled and gave a small almost non audible snicker when she thought of him trying to keep up with her. She knew for a fact that a cheetah was faster than a lynx on the ground. After a couple moments she could feel her feet starting to get tired. She was about to mention going to sit down on one of the couches when she heard him say that he would keep her safe. She smiled and picked her head off his chest.
Summer gave him a quick peck on the cheek as a thank you. "Thanks." She whispered when she started to pull away. "You want to go sit down on one of the couches instead of standing in the middle of the room." She said as her eyes locked with his. She could see the layout of the room as if it was daylight. "Hunting" at night with her brother had helped her with this fact.
