Birth Name: Alchemy Sophia White
Nickname
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Grade: Junior (next school year)
Birth date: June 18th
Program: Bachelor of Arts
Major: Law Enforcement
Major Explanation: At the Academy, Aly hopes to major in law enforcement. She understands that most people scoff at a hedgehog in law enforcement, but she has her reasons. Hedgehogs are nocturnal, and as many police officers say, their jobs only get more dangerous at night, and that's when most accidents happen. Hedgehog spikes do not come out of skin easily, just like if a police officer has a bad feeling about a certain incident, they don't stop being involved until they're sure that the person is innocent or that they have the right story.
Animal Identity: Hedgehog
...personality
Likes:(at least 10)
- Reading -- anything and everything...except sci-fi. She adores fantasy, especially anything involving mythology.
- Learning -- school has always been something precious to her. Her favorite classes are English, self defense, and history.
- Thinking
- Self-defense classes -- her mom signed her up for these when she was young, and has always loved them and the feeling of being in control. They also remind her of her mom.
- Going to museums -- see "Reading." This girl's a mythology addict and can spend hours in a museum, seeing the oldest artifacts in the building.
- Going to the library -- she doesn't have a library card, but will go on days she feels she needs to escape. She'll sit in an empty corner after going down the aisles, finding book after book. She will then read until the library closes.
- Martial arts -- she's extremely strong and can put a full grown man on his back after getting in some powerful hits and then using defensive moves to tire them out.
- Protective people -- she secretly wants to be taken care of, and likes feeling secure.
- Running, but she mostly walks -- she loves the feeling of power she gets from it.
- Eating -- she loves food! She's conscience about her weight, though, but can't fathom bulimia or anorexia.
- Watching police shows on TV -- they're so cool!
- Keeping the peace -- she had a time of insanity in her teen life, so she likes to fix problems going on around her.
- Organization
Dislikes: (at least 10)
- Lovey dovey couples that rub their relationship in people's faces
- Messes
- Cooking -- she wants to be really good at it, but she almost caught the HomeEc room on fire once.
- The fact that she's never had a boyfriend -- she loves romance novels and movies, but can only dwell in the fact that she's single.
- Sports -- she's not very competitive.
- Science -- it's her dad's favorite subject, but even though she's a whiz at it, she will never like it because of her dad.
- Deep water -- the thought of drowning scares her.
- Radios -- she hates the sound of static and that's all she ever gets.
- Hospitals -- the white walls and sterile smells freak her out.
- Allergies -- she's only allergic to pollen, but the allergy is really severe and annoying.
- "Romeo and Juliet" -- she thinks it's really over-rated and too cheesy; plus, Juliet was not even fourteen when she got MARRIED, and she's seventeen and single.
- Gum getting stuck on her shoes -- enough said.
- Domestic violence -- she can't stand people that beat their families.
Fears: (At least 3)

- Determined – she's a girl on a mission.
- Not afraid of getting hurt -- no pain, no gain.
- Can read people like a book
Weaknesses: (At least 3)

- Solitary – she is used to being by herself, and for that reason, isn't very good at accepting help.
- Defensive – she will fight back if threatened, but she's quick to accuse...she accidentally karate kicked a teacher once.
- Can't stay quiet -- her ability to read people like a book, and the fact she can't keep her observations quiet, is often seen as rude and gets her in trouble.

Aly is one of the most protective people you will ever meet. She is very strong in her convictions and beliefs and will not back down to anything. She has a kick-butt attitude and is stronger than she looks. She has a need to be in control at all times, another reason she doesn't have many friends, other than the fact that she's a solitary type of person. Although she IS extremely solitary, she still wishes with all of her heart for a boyfriend. Sometimes she wishes she had a more normal life, and a boyfriend would be a step in that process. She is almost as smart as her father, and loves to learn more than anything. Any opportunity for learning is a good opportunity. Another motto of hers is that if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing. She is curious about anything that piques her interest to a point of seeming crazy. She is sometimes seen as weird, because she can't stand messes at all, and all things have to be organized. She can sometimes seem bipolar, but it's just a trait she got from her father. She doesn't get angry very often, but when she does she's a ball of hot air, needing to steam off. A way she gets rid of her anger is through her martial arts and self-defense classes. She is not afraid of confrontation and is the complete opposite of a pacifist. Yet another of the many mottoes she has is, "No pain, no gain," and she sticks by this to a T. If there's nothing to slow her progress or try to stop it, she sees it as too easy and will tackle another project that has complications. If she does fail at something, after facing the consequences, she will pursue to discover what she did wrong until she is able to fix it. The ability to present mistakes is something she cherishes greatly, but one thing she absolutely loves is peace-keeping. She took an law class in middle school and fell in love with it. She soon joined the debate team and scared other classmates with how focused she was. Along with being focused, she is very clever and can get herself out of any situation or conversation. She used to like to believe that she was a descendant of the great Odysseus because of her cleverness and curiosity. Her mom was the first one to tell her that, and that also sparked her interest in mythology, which lead to her love of learning and academics in general. She secretly (and sometimes not so secretly) wants to be protected and loved, and if you are lucky enough to be loved by her, she will always stand by you, especially if you're a good cook.

Celebrity Play By: Dianna Agron
Appearance: [400 words minimum]
Aly is one of those people who is not tan, but not exactly pale. It all depends on the lighting, and what color she's wearing. If she wears black, she looks pale; white, tan. Her eyes are a hazel brown color, and sometimes look hazel blue and sometimes they look hazel green because of the lighting, angle, or clothes she's wearing. Her hair is the same way -- it's mostly blonde, but has brown tints. Her hedgehog form has quills almost the exact same shade of her human hair. In animal form, her eyes are deep brown. Aly has a tattoo of a tiara over her belly button, and as a hedgehog, there is a rough outline of it as a scar. She is taller than most girls her age at 5'9". She weighs about 130 lbs., and she is actually a little plump as a hedgehog. But in a cute way, of course. On her right ankle, it looks like she has a tattoo of dots, but they are actually scars from a fox's teeth (to be explained in her history). They don't appear in animal form, but on of her hedgehog legs is weaker than all the rest. As a hedgehog, she has a normal amount of dark whiskers the color of her human eyebrows. Her animal nose is a milk chocolate brown. She is of Swedish origins and is proud of her heritage and how it affects her looks. Only her mom is Swedish, but she doesn't claim her dad as a father, for many reasons plus the fact that she doesn't look like him at all. Her paw pads are the softest shade of a pale pinkish tan. She hardly ever wears makeup, but when she does, it's very little. Her legs are extremely long and her arms are stronger than they look. She hates her knees because they are paler than the rest of her body. Her teeth are very white and her hedgehog teeth are very clean. Her feet are a size 7, but her hedgehog feet are kind of disproportionate to the animal's small but plump body. Her hair goes a couple inches past her shoulders and is usually straight with a few waves. She loves her hedgehog body more than her human one because she thinks it's a better representation of how she is on the inside than her human outside can show. [/size]

Angela Blomma and Jedidiah "Jed" White met at the age of seventeen in high school. Jed had always been interested in science, and Angela had always been in mythology. At the time they met, Jed's science class had been discussing flowers, pollination, photosynthesis, etc., and once he realized that Angela's last name was Swedish for "flower," he started falling for her and only fell farther in love with from that point on.
They both went to college, Jed majoring in chemistry, and Angela majored in mythology. They got married right out of high school, and had Alchemy during their freshman year of college. Jed somehow talked Angela into naming their first daughter after one of the craziest "sciences."
After her birth, her father became obsessed with alchemy, not his daughter, but the science. He was absolutely positive that he was the best alchemist ever, he was convinced he could turn lead into gold. Aly knew though, she had caught him, he saw him spray-painting lead with a metallic gold color.
Despite the minor disillusions of her father, she had a relatively normal toddler life. They had a nice house in a doll-house like perfect neighborhood in suburbia. Jed became a chemical engineer and a part time lecturer at the local high school; Angela was a professor of mythology at the university in the area. Sometimes she even went overseas with archeologists and sent pictures to Aly, sparking her love of learning. Aly loved preschool, despite the fact that no one seemed able to pronounce her name.
When Aly was three, her parents had their second daughter, Phosphorus, the name of Jed's favorite element of the Periodic Table. They all called her Fossy, and Aly always envied her curly red hair. Fossy and Aly were best friends; they told each other everything, until Aly shifted.
When she turned thirteen, she thought she was going crazy. She could feel her bones pop and she wanted to scream through the pain, but couldn't find her voice. She became smaller and smaller, her vision changing as she found herself closer to the ground. Her arms turned into legs, and they became shorter as well. Her hair turned into spikes and became a part of who she now was, a hedgehog. She then felt the urge to kill for the first time. She made her way to the back yard and killed a poisonous snake that had been terrorizing the neighborhood.
When she shifted back, her mother found her and explained what had happened. She told Aly that her own animal was a deer, and Aly felt closer to her mother than ever. Aly didn't discover until years later that her father had watched her shift.
After that day, Jed took an intense interest in her, experimenting on her, trying to force her to shift, scaring her to no end, and made her become his partner in all alchemy related things. A week after the experiments began, she begged Angela to enroll her in self-defense classes.
They bonded in those classes, and secretly complained about all the crazy things Jed would do, like spinning in a circle three times before going through any door, and the lead into gold phase. Aly never forgot the way her mother's laugh sounded at those classes.
Her father had always pushed her not to fail, but he became crazed with her succeeding. If she failed, he would beat her in a way that no one would see the marks. Even if she didn't fail, she was beaten. They caused her great pain, but only made her stronger in the long run. Aly wasn't sure if her mother ever found out, but after the first beating, she became her mother's "Little Princess." Always supportive, her mother even let her get a tattoo of a tiara above her belly button. Her mother was now always with her, even when she wasn't.
When Fossy was thirteen, she shifted as well. Aly saw her shift, and saw that Fossy was a fox. Fossy seemed to be taking the change harder than Aly had. She wasn't able to find a snake to kill though, and tried to attack Aly, leaving scars on her ankle from her bite. Her mother tried to stop her, but to no avail.
A police woman had came by to see the ruckus, only to discover that Jed had taken a kitchen knife and cut the head off of the fox. Jed had an extreme phobia of foxes, and Aly wondered if he knew that the fox was his daughter.
Aly lost her sister that day and any small sliver of love she had left for her father. But that wasn't the only thing: she lost her mother, too.
She wasn't sure if she had died, but Angela, insane with grief, shifted into her deer form, and Aly could only describe her as a reincarnation of Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, she thought, the deer was so beautiful. Angela's plan was to run Jed into the road to be hit by a car, but stopped for some reason. She then ran off with an unrealistic grace into the woods. There was a gunshot, but Aly didn't know whether it hit her mother or not. She has never discovered that fact or found her mother, but she wishes her to be alive.
She was forever grateful for that police woman for taking her father to jail that day, after she discovered the bruises all over Aly. Jed was charged with domestic violence, and
Aly never forgot that police woman. The police woman and Aly actually became great friends, for there wasn't too big of an age difference between them.
Social Services discovered her after awhile, and made her live with her grandmother in Sweden, her only living relative.
Before she left the country, Aly legally changed her last name to "Igelkott," Swedish for "hedgehog," in honor of her own identity, not her father's and in honor of her mother.
Her grandmother was also a Shifter and once she discovered her granddaughter was too, she sent her to the Academy, where Aly is now.

Aly began her walk to her self-defense classes, alone as usual. She didn't mind being alone, it was actually a comfort nowadays, since her dad hardly ever left her alone after she shifted for the first time. She shuddered, trying to block out the memories. Her dad didn't belong in her thoughts, ever.
She quickened her pace, aggravated that her dad, even in jail, was making her late.
Continuing on her walk, she passed the local park, smiling as she saw some kids playing.
Now that's what childhood should be like, she thought. Without a crazy dad ruining it for you.
She stopped though, when she saw that one of them had pushed down another kid. She jogged over there, now determined.
She squatted by the standing kid, and said, "That wasn't very nice, was it, little guy?"
He seemed startled to see her right next to him, but after blurting out that she was pretty, causing her to blush, he said, "I guess not...but she made me!"
"No, I didn't!" cried the little girl on the ground.
Aly smiled, and tried to discover the source of the shoving. It seemed that the girl wanted to be on the swing, and have him push, rather than the other way around. She eventually got it sorted out, plus gave them some chocolate she had for after her class.
"Thank you, nice lady!" they called to her, after she walked away.
Aly grinned all the way to her classes, and thought, This is why I want to be a police officer. It's not all bad. Just helping the world, one little step at a time.
And with that, she ran to her class muttering, "I'm late!"
