Zero was on his feet now too, and he motioned for Aly to follow him. He walked over to one of the stalls and went in, and Aly followed his lead and entered the one next to it. She cringed at the filth of the bathroom, but she didn't want to sit on the floor again, so she lowered the toilet's seat with toilet paper, and, laying some pieces down, sat on a few layers of the stuff, she hated things that weren't clean. Locking the stall's door, she heard the door to Zero's stall opening and closing sporadically, a mere puppet to the wind.[/blockquote][/size]
Aly hugged her knees close to her chest, and she cocked her head when she heard Zero humming. She'd never categorized him as the type of person to hum. A smile lit her face as she recognized it as “Rain, rain, go away.” She hadn't heard that song in years, and Zero was pretty good, at least she thought he was, it was a little hard to hear, but it sounded like he could at least carry a tune. Plus, it was a fitting song at the moment, considering the predicament they were in.
“Can you sing, or play an instrument?” Zero asked, and Aly bit her lip, thinking of a response.
She opened her mouth to speak, then cleared her throat a little, before replying, “I sing a little. I'm not the best, but I don't really sing anywhere other than the shower.” She added a little laugh at the end of that, hoping her voice sounded normal. And it was true, though she used to sing a lot more when she was younger, and she used to play the violin, too, but she didn't feel like talking about that. She doubted she could even hold the bow correctly anymore.
A song came into her head, “I Say a Little Prayer,” her prayer being for the hurricane to end, and she started to hum it, even though she was a little self-conscience of her voice. It was a good song though, and she smiled while she was humming it, it'd been a while since she'd sang outside of the shower. She was a confident person, but she wasn't the type to usually sing in public or anything like that.
“What about you?” she asked through the stalls, her curiosity piqued. This was something to talk about, something other than the hurricane, and she had to admit that she did have a crush on him, so she did like talking to him, too.
